"You are invited to Diamond Tiara's 20th birthday party."
–– Diamond Tiara
For what felt like the one hundredth time since she'd gotten the mail, Apple Bloom reread the message. She briefly tried to think back to when she and Diamond Tiara had first interacted with each other, only for her mind to draw a blank. Sure, the former bully had left her and her friends alone since reforming, even going so far as calling the Cutie Mark Crusaders her friends, but the four of them hadn't had much interaction at all since then. Diamond Tiara had pretty much left them alone and gone off to do her own thing, very much like how Apple Bloom and her friends had. So, when Apple Bloom received an invitation to her former bully's twentieth birthday, the young mare couldn't help but naturally feel slightly confused. And if she'd received an invitation, then of course Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo had too, and there was no doubt that Silver Spoon would be there too, seeing as how she and Diamond Tiara had patched things up since her reformation.
At the very bottom of the invitation was information regarding the party. It was to be held at Diamond Tiara's house, on the twentieth of April, at noon. For the first time since receiving the invitation, Apple Bloom briefly wondered if she'd have to get a gift. Being a carpenter in Ponyville, she had no shortage of money. All of her needs were sufficiently met, providing her with plenty of food on the table and a very nice modest house. Even so, she wasn't about to go out and splurge on a birthday present just to make sure she got a great birthday present for Diamond Tiara, but she also didn't feel right about not getting her anything at all. Worst yet, the day of the birthday party was only a couple of days away. Sure, that was more than enough time to go out and buy a present, but, unfortunately, work would get in the way of that, no doubt. She would have to find some way to make time to go shopping.
Unfortunately for Apple Bloom, she never did find the time to go shopping for a birthday gift for Diamond Tiara, and the day of the party arrived much more quickly than she would've liked. She got up early, just to see if she could manage to find a birthday gift for her in the few hours before the party was set to begin, only to find that most of the regular shops were closed and weren't due to open for another couple of hours. She figured that she might as well grab a bite of breakfast and some hot coffee to perk her up.
Sugarcube Corner could always be counted upon to be open early in the mornings to welcome those looking for something sweet to eat to start their day. As always, Pinkie Pie greeted her with a wave and a warm smile. Depositing her money, she ordered her usual: a hot coffee and a cream-filled donut and a jelly donut. She took a seat and her order arrived shortly. As she sat eating her donuts and drinking her coffee, she pondered as to what she should get Diamond Tiara. Alas, despite spending over a half-hour mulling it over, she came up short. She finally left, giving Pinkie a friendly wave as she made her departure, promising that she would visit again soon.
Exiting the bakery, she turned her attention to the clock tower to check the time. It was only half past seven. She still had four and a half hours to shop until she was set to arrive at the party. Even so, she figured that she would arrive early at the party, well ahead of everypony else.

No matter how hard she tried, Apple Bloom just couldn't figure out what to get Diamond Tiara for her birthday. Walking down the dirt road heading towards Diamond's house, she caught herself wishing that she had honestly spent more time with Diamond Tiara, if only to get to know her better. She had no idea what gift Diamond would like, thus she arrived at the party with no gift to give. She sighed, feeling horrible about herself. She was just grateful to see that neither Sweetie Belle nor Scootaloo had a gift either. The only one out of the four of them that had a gift, several in fact was, naturally, Silver Spoon, which was to be expected seeing as how she and Diamond had been best friends since they'd been in diapers.
Lifting a hoof, Apple Bloom knocked. She had timed it so that she'd arrive at least ten minutes early. Apparently, Diamond Tiara hadn't been expecting guests this early because it took Randolph, her butler, to answer the door.
The elderly butler bowed, giving them a warm smile as he ushered them in. "Welcome, friends. Miss Tiara is expecting you in the dining room." He walked ahead of the group, escorting them to the room in question.
In the center of said room stood Diamond Tiara with a big grin that stretched across her face, looking quite pleased and proud of herself.
"Will the mistress be requiring anything else this afternoon?" Randolph asked.
Diamond Tiara shook her head. "No, thank you, Randolph. You may go." She waved him away. Once he was gone, she spoke again. "I, like, didn't spare any expense for my party. I have the best presents, the best cake, and the best food."
Looking around, Apple Bloom could see this proclamation was quite true. Just ahead of them stood a long table with a white tablecloth draped over it, housing all sorts of food and drinks. Gesturing to them, Diamond Tiara continued. "There's pizza, ice cream, soda, burgers, donuts, and even a pinata." She gestured towards a horse-shaped pinata that was dangling just above her.
Seeing all of this food, Apple Bloom's stomach couldn't help but give an audible growl, and she was instantly reminded that she hadn't eaten anything since breakfast. Licking her lips and stepping forward, she said, "Oh, sounds great! I'm starvin'!"
Diamond Tiara apparently didn't much care for the mare's attitude because she stepped in front of Apple Bloom, stomped a hoof indignantly, and said, "Ahem! What do you think you're doing? The birthday girl always goes first!"
Apple Bloom blushed in embarrassment, ashamed that she'd let her appetite get the best of her. "Oh, r-right," she said.
Diamond Tiara rolled her eyes. "Ugh! Like, someone should really teach you dorks some manners." She grabbed a burger and chomped down on it, happily chewing it before looking over her shoulder at the Crusaders and smirking. "Hmph!"
Apple Bloom and the others, however, were left with nothing to do but stare at Diamond Tiara's backside while she ate. "Uh-huh," she said.
Diamond Tiara kept eating burger after burger, seemingly unaware of her growing belly that expanded, pressing against her legs as it sagged lower and lower to the floor with every bite that Diamond Tiara took. Polishing off the burgers and chewing the last bite of one, she said, "Honestly, I really out did myself this time." She moved on to the pizza, stuffing slice after slice into her mouth, seemingly oblivious to how much her belly was growing. "My daddy bought so much food! I'm sure there'll be, like, tons of leftovers."
Apple Bloom was left completely baffled as to how Diamond Tiara wasn't noticing how much her belly was distending, and that wasn't counting her backside, which itself had gotten bigger and rounder with the more she ate. "Uh . . ." This was the only thing that Apple Bloom could think to say. She couldn't come up with anything else.
By the time she'd devoured the burgers, pizza, and ice cream and had moved onto the donuts, Diamond Tiara's stomach was just a couple of inches off the floor. She lifted a donut out of the box and took a whiff, instantly salivating as the flavor assaulted her senses. "Mmm, Boston cream," she moaned. She stuffed the donut in her mouth. Before she'd completely swallowed it, her mouth was instantly filled with another and another. She spoke as she continued to eat: "Mmm . . . so good . . . Mmm . . . yummy. Oh, yummy . . ." Upon finishing the last of the donuts, she let out a belch, followed by a sigh of content. "That should do for now." She turned, noticing something out of the corner of her eye. Her eyes fell on the four-tier birthday cake that the cooks in the kitchen had slaved over for days. Within seconds of seeing it, she was drooling all over again. "Ooh, how could I forget about you!?" she said, licking her lips. "You're all mine!" Without a second thought, she began making her way towards the cake. She would've made it all the way had she not had to go through the archway to reach the cake. She only managed to get halfway through it before inevitably getting stuck. She tried to take a step forward, only to end up further wedging herself in the doorway. "What the . . ." She looked behind herself to see what the problem was, only for her to jaw to drop open upon seeing how big and round she'd gotten, apparently without her notice. Even still, she seemed to be oblivious because she asked, "Hey! Like, where did all this come from!?"
Behind a hoof, Apple Bloom giggled and whispered to the others, "Psst. Hey, y'all." She began making her way into the kitchen through the back.
Meanwhile, Diamond Tiara continued to pry herself from the archway, grunting and groaning all the while. Her efforts proved futile. Despite this, she wasn't giving up. She was bound and determined to get to that cake through any means necessary. "Come on," she groaned, feeling frustrated.
Apple Bloom chuckled. "Are ya stuck, Diamond?" she asked with a smirk.
Diamond Tiara opened her eyes to see Apple Bloom standing in front of her, still with that same smirk on her face. "What!?" she said. "No, I'm not! I'm perfectly nimble." She continued to try to push herself through the archway.
Apple Bloom rolled her eyes. "Ah, come on, don't fret. We'll make sure the birthday girl gets her just desserts." So saying, she lifted a slice of cake towards Diamond's face.
Diamond Tiara, for her part, was left completely baffled. "Huh?" She could do nothing to stop Apple Bloom as the filly began forcing the slice of cake into the birthday girl's mouth. "Wait, wait! Apple Bloom! What are you doing!?" Her question went ignored as Apple Bloom continued to stuff slice after slice of cake into Diamond Tiara, giggling all the while.
Despite herself, Diamond Tiara couldn't help but moan, her cheeks getting crammed with cake while her belly, bottom, and body overall continued to expand and grow. Behind her, she felt Sweetie Belle caressing her backside. Shifting her eyes to look behind her, she cried, "Sweetie Belle! Like, hey! Get your hooves off me!" She let out a gasp, feeling Sweetie Belle deliver a swift, harsh smack to her rear, and the unicorn watched in delight as Diamond Tiara's butt jiggled. "Hey! Watch it!"
Blushing and with her mouth full, Diamond gave Apple Bloom a pitiful look as she said, "You know, I was, like, going to share, right?"
Apple Bloom couldn't stop herself from rolling her eyes once more in amusement. "Sure you were." Grinning like mad, she pressed a hoof against Diamond's flabby chest. Smirking, she added, "We know a hungry gal like you deserves the whole thing."
Now it was Diamond's turn to roll her eyes. She couldn't argue with that logic. "Mmm . . . mmm . . . Well, duh!" she said.
Smiling and giggling, Apple Bloom cut the last slice of cake. "Last one," she said, bringing it over to Diamond.
Diamond's eyes rolled into the back of her head, feeling Apple Bloom shove the slice of cake into her mouth, bulging out her cheeks. She moaned as the entirety of the slice of cake was stuffed into her mouth. She bit down, beginning to chew and swallow the cake. Swallowing the last bite, she belched, followed by letting out a sigh. "Ooh. . . . Ugh, . . ." Now that she was done eating, she had a chance to get a good look at herself. She groaned. "Look what you weirdos did to my gorgeous figure. I'm the size of a barn. A big, stuffed wobbly barn."
"I didn't see you spit any of it out, though, big girl," Apple Bloom said with a smirk and a blush, feeling her hoof sink into the softness of Diamond's side.
"Shut up, you dork!" Diamond snapped. Another burp escaped her. "Ooh! Ugh!"
Apple Bloom moaned, completely pressing her body against Diamond's own, wrapping her hooves around the birthday girl's head in an impromptu hug. "Does the birthday blob want another box of donuts?" she asked.
Diamond Tiara rolled her eyes. "You can't be serious. Ugh!" After giving it some thought, she figured that there was no harm in letting Apple Bloom stuff her some more. "They better be cream-filled."
Apple Bloom chuckled, taking a step back. With a smirk on her face, she pointed a hoof at Diamond and said, "You mean like you? You are what you eat, you know?"
Diamond blushed.
Apple Bloom lifted a hoof and called, "Hey, girls! Y'all mind helping me out!"
"Of course," Sweetie Belle said, walking into the room with Scootaloo and Silver Spoon, carrying a box of cream-filled donuts.
After stuffing Diamond with dozens upon dozens of donuts, Apple Bloom couldn't help leaning up against Diamond Tiara's flabby side. "Hmm, so, we gonna open presents now? she asked.
