Sara and Kate fumbled into the house kissing and giggling. Amy cleared her throat.
"Oh hey Amy. Everything go okay with Amelia?" asked Kate.
"She's been an angel as usual. Fast asleep in her bed thank you very much. You guys are early, I expected you home much later" said Amy.
"Service was really fast" winked Sara.
"Okay, well if you don't need me for anything else I'll be on my way" smiled Amy.
"Thanks again Amy. You're the best" said Kate and saw Amy out. As soon as she stepped back into the door Sara was all over her again. Kate obliged and pulled Sara's legs around her waist as she continued kissing.
"Let's get you to bed stat young lady" said Kate seductively.
"Oh doctor" grinned Sara and kissed Kate again.
Kate laughed and took Sara's hand and pulled her to the bedroom.
Sara didn't waste any time and was all over Kate again as soon as they set foot into the bedroom.
"I should go check on Am" said Kate under Sara's kisses.
"She's fine babe" said Sara still kissing.
"One minute... when I get back I expect to see you in bed. Doctor's orders" grinned Kate.
Sara hastily pulled off her clothes and lay down naked on their bed, her breathing fast in anticipation. Kate jogged back into the room a few seconds later.

"I don't know if you've just got a really great heartbeat or if this is a spectacular stethoscope but this is beautiful... duf duf... duf duf" smiled Kate and moved the head to Sara's lungs.
"Deep breath in" she said softly. Sara obliged. "And out"
"Well Miss Quin, your lungs sound wonderful. I think I may need to perform a cardiac stress test though" said Kate.
"Oh really" said Sara lifting her eyebrow.
"Oh I'm afraid so" Kate laughed. She leaned in and started kissing Sara's neck softly, the stethoscope still in place on Sara's chest.
"Pulse is going up" said Kate through her kisses.
"Really, how strange" breathed Sara.
Kate's kisses intensified and moved up to Sara's desperate lips. Kate softly sucked on Sara's bottom lip and moved the stethoscope to over Sara's lungs.
"Breathing intensifying" whispered Kate.

"My turn" said Sara after a few minutes of silence.
Kate looked up at her and smiled. She sat up and put the stethoscope into Sara's ears. Sara put the head onto Kate's chest between her breasts.

Sara turned around in bed at 2 in the morning on launch day as Kate sneaked into the bedroom.

"Can I get you some warm milk or something?" whispered Kate.

"Sorry I'm so late" said Kate
"It's okay… just get over here" said Sara.
Kate snuggled in tight to Sara.
"You're freezing" complained Sara.
"You're just sooo hot" giggled Kate.
"Don't start… I have a very early morning and a very big day ahead of me" said Sara.
"What about a stress fuck though?" joked Kate
"It is tempting... but no... cool it" whispered Sara.
"Just a stress make out?" asked Kate.
Sara just laughed. "Are you done at work?" she asked.
"I'm done, I'm all yours baby" whispered Kate and kissed Sara.
Sara gave Kate a long kiss back before turning on her side away from her. "Goodnight babe" sighed Sara.
A few blocks away Tegan was also still rolling around.
She got up slowly, careful not to wake up Lindsey and walked to the en-suite bathroom. She softly closed the door behind her. She sat down on the closed toilet seat and her knee jumped up and down. She threw her head back and closed her eyes. "Just this once… big day tomorrow" she whispered before getting up and opening the medicine cabinet. She took out a small bottle of capsules and tapped two into the palm of her hand. She looked at the two pills remaining in the bottle. "Shit" she mumbled and shook her head. She quickly swallowed the capsules followed by some water.

The next morning Kate and Sara were already waiting for Tegan and Lindsey outside their house on their way to the first interviews of the day.
"I'm going in" said Sara after a few minutes.
"Good luck... and Sar, don't start a fight" said Kate.
"Tegan! Come on we're going to be late" yelled Sara.
Tegan stormed past Sara carrying Ryan. "Hurry up" said Sara.
"I'm doing the best I can… okay!" yelled Tegan.
"Tegan honey, go! I've got this" said Sonia who was visiting for a few days to help out with the kids during the couple of hectic launch days.
Tegan took a deep breath to calm herself down. "Okay…. Mom, call me if you need anything. Or call Lindsey, one of us will have our phones on… or Kate" said Tegan.
"Amy is bringing Amelia over later, and the new nanny is coming over. Amy's going to go through their routines with her" said Sara.
"Okay… um… I think that's everything" said Tegan looking very flustered.
"Got it! Go goooo" said Sonia.
"Lock the doors mom" said Tegan.
"Tegan look at me…." said Sonia and took Tegan's cold and clammy hands in hers.
"Sweetie… everything's okay. We'll be fine. I promise, this isn't like last time" said Sonia.
"Yes mom… I know!" snapped Tegan and pulled her hands from Sonia's. She suddenly looked embarrassed.
"I'm sorry mom… see you later" said Tegan.
"You're gonna be great girls… I'm proud of you" said Sonia smiling.

Tegan sat in the makeup chair getting ready to be interviewed on some morning TV show. Lindsey was snapping away on her camera.
"Boo… please… not now" said Tegan with her hand in the air. Lindsey stopped clicking.
"You okay?" asked Lindsey softly.
"Sure… just nervous" said Tegan.
"You'll be fine sweetie" said Lindsey and kissed Tegan on the cheek.
"Ruining the makeup" said a makeup artist sounding annoyed.
"She's gorgeous even without makeup" winked Lindsey.
"You're sweet…. Listen why don't you go take some shots of Sara… or… the set or something. I just need a moment to focus" said Tegan.
"Okay… I'll be right back" said Lindsey.
Lindsey walked to the other side of the room and started taking photos of Sara. Kate was coaxing Sara to smile.
Tegan quickly grabbed her bag and took out the container with the two pain pills in it. She emptied it into her hand and looked at it for a second before hastily putting one back into the container. She glanced at Sara, Kate and Lindsey again before swallowing it down with some bottled water. She closed her eyes and waited for it to kick in.

Tegan rubbed her hands up and down her legs while waiting in the chair in front of the camera to be interviewed. Sara glanced over to her and smiled.
"You ready?" she said.
"I guess…. You?" asked Tegan.
Sara nodded.
"Rolling in 20 seconds" said a cameraman.
"Hey Tegan… happy record release day" whispered Sara.
Tegan held out her hand for a little hi-five and smiled.
Sara looked over to Kate standing behind a camera.
"Love you" Kate mouthed.
Lindsey put two thumbs up and smiled at Tegan.
"Five, four, three…." said the cameraman an held two, then one finger up without speaking.
"Good morning America, we're here with twin sisters Tegan and Sara who just released their new studio album. I've had the pleasure of listening to it in the car on the way home yesterday and I have to say, it's phenomenal. Congratulations" said the host, a woman in her early thirties.
"Thank you Susan, we're very proud of it" said Sara blushing. Tegan nodded.
"This album comes at an interesting time. Tegan was critically ill for quite some time at the end of your last record cycle, Tegan you got married, you both had babies, you won an Oscar…" said the host.
"You know, it's been a really challenging time but also really rewarding and exciting. We're both so happy right now. We're just totally in love with our kids and our partners. And yeah… it feels good to be alive and making music again. It sometimes feels like a rollercoaster… but through extremes like this… I think that's when you learn most about yourself and about the people that mean most in your life" said Tegan
"Yeah, I think Tegan and I have both been in a growth phase and we did really learn a lot about each other. You'd think that after knowing the other person your entire life there's nothing more to learn but we did, we learned about each other but I think that… I mean I can only speak for myself but I think Tegan taught me a lot about myself too and I think that shows in the music" said Sara.
"You also recently had a personal tragedy that…" said the interviewer before being cut off by Sara. Tegan immediately looked uncomfortable.
"We did, but we really don't want to talk about that right now" said Sara before the interviewer could finish her question.
"Understandable… I apologise" said the interviewer shifting around.
"I think what Sara's trying to say is that we'd rather talk about this album and what influenced it" said Tegan and smiled. Sara gave her a surprised look. Tegan continued.
"This album is a mix between complete anxiety filled songs and really happy songs… songs about the meaning of life, or rather the search for it... Songs about how things fit together or sometimes don't at all. How some things make perfect sense and some just floor you and you can't figure it out no matter how hard you try. Questioning songs. Songs about desperation… I think that it's a journey in some way. It was the first time we got to write about this… this life changing thing that happened to us. And I'm saying us because it happened to us… not just to me. It affected everything in such a massive way. This thing that made us… or me specifically, question just about everything in my life..." said Tegan.
"And have you found the answers?" asked the interviewer.
"No… and yes" smiled Tegan.
"Sara?" asked the interviewer.
"I think that this album was… in a way… therapy for the two of us. For the first time we wrote what and how we wanted to…. We didn't even talk about the direction we wanted to go before we started… we just did it. This is going to sound horrible and so self-indulgent but I really never even thought about what the fans would want… what the market wants… the critics… I just… wrote. And it was amazing and if this album achieves nothing else, at least it achieved this" said Sara smiling.
"Sara's right, and that's why this album is self titled. It doesn't have a name... because, well I guess it's just... us... Tegan and Sara. At our most authentic. Maybe we should have come up with some amazing story behind the direction of this album but you know…. That's how we roll… what you see is what you get… warts and all" laughed Tegan.
"Well whatever you did it worked. Critics are already calling it one of, if not THE best album of the year and I think I agree" smiled the interviewer.
"Thank you… I think that's pushing it but we're grateful for all the support" said Sara.
"How's married life Tegan? How are the twins doing?" asked the interviewer.
"Oh it's fantastic… the twins keep my on my toes but their absolutely amazing. Being married… I don't know, I've loved Lindsey from the moment I laid eyes on her… being married is… different I guess, a good different. A safe, amazing different. Lindsey is… everything to me, I just… I adore her" smiled Tegan.
"And Sara… you're a new mom too. Are you guys planning on going on the road with the kids?" asked the interviewer.
"We are, it's going to be an interesting tour but we're very excited. Both our partners are joining so yeah, we're looking forward to it" said Sara.
"Speaking of partners, Sara, you're in a very happy relationship right now. I think it's common knowledge that your partner has a very demanding job. How are you guys balancing things?" asked the interviewer.
"Yeah… she's… um, I think everybody knows by now that Kate was the doctor that treated Tegan when she was in hospital, right now she's specialising in pediatrics. She has an extremely difficult and emotionally demanding job and to tell you the truth… I don't really know how we make it work… but we do… I think it's about giving each other the space to be ourselves… to respect each other enough to allow our careers to be important but to not be the most important thing in our lives" said Sara.
The interview ended about five minutes later. Tegan let out a loud sigh of relief after the director yelled cut.
"Thanks girls, that was great. Really enjoyed our chat" said the host and got up.
"Baby that was so great!" said Lindsey and threw her arms around Tegan's neck and kissed her repeatedly.
"One down… a million to go" said Tegan with a half-smile.

"Do we have time for a coffee stop? I need some caffeine" Sara asked as they drove to the next interview.
"Yeah sure, three more to go in studio today and the rest will happen at the hotel" said Tom in the front seat of the rented van.
The van stopped in front of a Starbucks and everybody except Tegan started to get out. Tegan put her hand on Kate's shoulder and Kate turned around.
"Do you have a minute?" asked Tegan softly.
"Boo? You coming? Can I get you anything?" asked Lindsey.
"Could you get me a latte please hon… I'm going to stay if that's okay" said Tegan.
"Sara, I'm staying with Tee okay. Can you get me an espresso?" asked Kate.
"Oh… okay" said Sara looking taken aback.
"What's up" said Kate when the doors closed. The security guard was standing outside the van.
"Just wanted to ask if you could give me a script for some more pain killers. I'm out" said Tegan.
"You're out? How many did Callie send you home with?" asked Kate.
"Uh… can't remember. Not a lot" said Tegan.
"Are you still in pain? You should still be in pain Tee?" asked Kate.
"I'm… yeah I'm still in pain okay" said Tegan. She knew she was lying. She did still have a little bit pain, nothing some over the counter ibuprofen couldn't fix, but the meds calmed her nerves more than anything.
"Alright… maybe you should have Callie check it out again?" said Kate.
"God Kate… if you don't want to give me the pills don't. You know how much I hate taking meds but I sometimes need it" said Tegan annoyed.
"Tegan I'll give you the script I'm just… I'm worried that you still have pain" said Kate.
"I'm fine okay… seriously I take a tablet every now and then when it acts up. But it's okay, I can go get some ibuprofen or something at the pharmacy. It's not a big deal" said Tegan.
Kate looked at Tegan for a few seconds.
"Last round okay… stick to the prescribed dosage. And I want to have a look at that ankle when we get home tonight" said Kate and pulled out her phone.
"Yeah whatever" said Tegan and looked out of the window.
Kate spoke to somebody at the hospital to send some painkillers over to Tegan's house.
"I'm going to go see what's taking them so long" said Kate and got out of the van.
Tegan dialed a number.
"Dr Torres, hi it's Tegan Quin" she said.
"Yeah everything's going well, we've just been running around like crazy with this launch and my ankle's kind of acting up a bit... No nothing serious, it's just still painful sometimes... Okay no problem, I'll have Kate check it out and come in if there's a problem... Okay... Yeah... Problem is that I'm out of painkillers. Casey bumped her head the other day and I dropped like half the bottle into the sink with all the commotion... Oh okay... no just one more round should be fine thanks. It's really not a big deal. It's getting better" said Tegan lying through her teeth.
"Okay thanks, I'll send my assistant over to pick it up. No no there's no rush... Yeah I promise I'll come in if it's not better in a couple of days. Don't have a second to spare in the next day or two" said Tegan.
After hanging up Tegan put her head in her hands. "What the fuck am I doing" she whispered.
The gang got back into the van a few seconds later.
"You okay Tee, you look a bit pale?" said Sara.
"I'm fine... just didn't sleep much last night" said Tegan.
"Hmm you and me both" said Sara.

Tegan plonked down on the couch at home around 10 that evening after an exhausting day.
"Hi girls, how'd it go?" asked Sonia.
"What a day" sighed Tegan.
"It went great, thanks Mom. Everything go okay with the kids?" asked Sara.
"Yeah everything went great. I'm pooped though, they're hard work. Even with Amy and the new nanny here they still kicked my butt" laughed Sonia.
"What do you think about Kristen?" asked Tegan.
"She's great. The kids seem to really like her" said Sonia.
"Cool" said Tegan and closed her eyes.
"Package came for you" said Sonia.
"Oh... thanks" said Tegan looking relieved.
Kate looked at Tegan suspiciously.
"What package babe?" asked Lindsey.
"Just something I ordered online" said Tegan.
"I'm going to make us some tea" said Lindsey.
"Make that a glass of wine" said Tegan.
Sara and Sonia got up to help Lindsey pour the drinks.
"Something you ordered online?" asked Kate.
"Yeah I ordered something online" said Tegan defensively.
"Why aren't you telling Lindsey that you needed more pain meds" asked Kate.
"Oh yeah, the pain meds. Forgot about that" said Tegan and leaned back against the pillows putting her foot up dramatically for effect.
"Let me look at that" said Kate and started removing Tegan's boot.
"Mmm, looks okay to me" said Kate after examining Tegan's ankle.
"Well maybe looks can be deceiving" said Tegan sarcastically.
"Tegan... be careful" said Kate threateningly.
"Oh please... stop being so damn dramatic. Take the fucking pills with you if you want. I don't need them on second thoughts" said Tegan.
"No... I trust you. Take one when you need it. Only when you really need it. And you let me know when that's not enough Tegan. You talk to me okay... Okay?" said Kate.
"Okay! Kate... I've come too far to fuck around with my health... you know that. And quite frankly I resent your tone... your accusations" said Tegan.
"Accusations? I'm not accusing you of anything Tegan. Defensive much? I'm just worried about you... as your friend" said Kate.
"Katy, I appreciate that but seriously, you have absolutely nothing to worry about" said Tegan.
Tegan took a large sip of wine as soon as Lindsey handed the glass to her.
Kate shook her head looking into Tegan's eyes. "Pain meds... go slow" she mouthed.
Tegan rolled her eyes and put the glass down.
A few minutes later Sara's phone rang.
"Hey Tom, thanks for today. I think it went great" said Sara. "Oh okay... I'm putting you on speaker"
"Hi everyone... Tegan are you there?" Tom asked.
"I'm here" said Tegan sounding bored.
"Just phoned to say well done... today was great. I'm sure the rest of the launch will be too. Anyway, thought you'd like to know that... the fans seem to love the album. They love the whole direction of the album" said Tom.
"Cool... guess that means that nobody else will like it" sighed Tegan.
"Girls... I'm taking you haven't read your emails or listened to your voice messages?" said Tom.
"When did you want us to do that? Hardly had time to pee today" said Tegan sarcastically.
"You're number one on iTunes... on the main chart... And you're number one on Billboard" said Tom.
"What? Whoo hooooo" yelled Tegan jumping up. Her 'sore' foot suddenly completely forgotten.
"Oh my god... this is... holy shit" mumbled Sara looking shocked.
"Congratulations... I'm so proud. Don't celebrate too hard, long day tomorrow" said Tom and hung up.
Lindsey grabbed Tegan and kissed her passionately.
Kate sat down next to Sara and squeezed her hand. "Hey... you okay?" she said softly.
"I'm shocked" said Sara.
"Congratulations! I knew this album would do great" smiled Kate and kissed Sara. Sara looked into Kate's eyes shocked. She put her hand behind her head and pulled her closer for a long kiss.
"I'm so incredibly proud of you" said Sonia through her tears.
"Thanks Mom... whooo hooo this feels amazing" yelled Tegan throwing her head back.
Sara held out her hand to Tegan for a fist pump. Tegan bumped her fist against Sara's before pulling her in for a hug.
"This is amazing... after all these years" said Tegan while hugging Sara.
"We did it Tee... a number one album" said Sara.
"Don't get a big head now Sar but I have to say, you're the best damn band mate in the world" laughed Tegan.
"And you're the second best" laughed Sara.
An hour later, after a hot shower, Tegan got into bed.
"Goodnight rock star" whispered Lindsey.
Tegan kissed Lindsey and slowly moved down to her neck.
"Are you sure? Long day tomorrow" said Lindsey.
"Hey I deserve a bit of a celebration don't I?" said Tegan.
"You sure do... superstar" smiled Lindsey and softly fondled Tegan's breasts.
"Thanks for being there today" whispered Tegan through her kisses.
"Wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world... I'm so proud of you" said Lindsey slowly moving her hand between Tegan's legs.
"Tegan..." she whispered. "I loved what you said about me... about our family today" she said.
"I meant every word... you're amazing... you're the love of my life... and holy crap, you're smoking hot in bed" joked Tegan and lightly slapped Lindsey's bum.
"Come here joker" said Lindsey straddling Tegan's hips and started tickling her.
"No no stop... stop" laughed Tegan.
Lindsey kept tickling.
"Babe... what if I need my inhaler" laughed Tegan out of breath.
"Oh shit Tegan hang on" said Lindsey looking horrified as she leaned over to grab Tegan's inhaler.
Tegan grabbed Lindsey's body and flipped her onto her back and started tickling.
"Not funny Tee" gasped Lindsey through her laughter.
"I didn't say I needed it... I said what if" laughed Tegan.
"Stop baby please" begged Lindsey.
"Okay... I love the crap out of you you know" smiled Tegan and kissed Lindsey on the lips.
"I love the crap out of you too" laughed Lindsey.
Hardly a minute after being pleasured by her wife Tegan fell into a deep sleep. Lindsey stared at Tegan's flushed face, a smile still evident on her face. She softly pushed the bangs out of her face. "Goodnight my angel" she whispered and fell asleep in her lover's arm.
The next morning Tegan woke up with a massive smile on her face. She walked into the kitchen after her shower and laughed at Casey and Ryan trying to feed themselves.
"Morning guys... Grandma, you need to keep an eye on the situation here... cleaning lady isn't coming in today" joked Tegan.
"How did you sleep sweetie?" asked Lindsey.
"Like a log" said Tegan.
Tegan walked back to the bedroom a few minutes later and took the unopened package out of the cupboard. She tore it open and looked at the container full of pain meds.
"I don't need this... I don't... need this" she said to herself and threw it back in the cupboard.
"Okay Linds, we need to go" she yelled.
