Chapter 213

Tegan spent a relaxed morning at home, playing with her kids and packing a few last minute items. She felt calm and more than anything, she felt relieved that she somehow got through the worst of it. A van was due to come pick them up in a few minutes and Tegan looked at the pile of stuff on the driveway that needed to fly with to New York. Strollers, car seats, bags with baby stuff, their own suitcases, guitar cases.

"Holy shit!" said Lindsey walking outside and burst out laughing.

"I know right…. Crazy. And this is just for the promo tour not even the real tour" said Tegan.

"This is probably going to cost a fortune in overweight baggage charges" said Lindsey.

"Nah don't think so, I think we're booked in first class, unlimited baggage allowance" said Tegan.

"First class huh… look who's the number one super star" smiled Lindsey and kissed Tegan seductively.

"Apparently it's a gift from the record company. Suddenly they're sucking up to us, anyway. Not that I'm complaining" said Tegan laughing.

"How are you feeling? You look better. You have some colour in your cheeks. Your hair looks really great, oh and I love your bum in those jeans" winked Lindsey taking Tegan's hands.

"Good… yeah… good. No cravings or anything yet. In fact right now I feel as if I never want to see a pain pill again if it's going to make me that sick again" said Tegan.

"Good… keep thinking about the puke if you start craving" said Lindsey.

"Uh huh… I'm just a bit… tired you know. And nervous" said Tegan.

"You're going to be fine sweetie. You can have a great nap in the plane with those lie flat beds and all" said Lindsey and kissed Tegan's lips softly.

"I'm so happy you guys are going with me" said Tegan.

"So am I" Lindsey whispered.

"Let's go get the twins. Our ride should be here in about 5 minutes" said Tegan.

"Hey Grandma, you all packed?" asked Tegan.

"Yes sweetie. I'm just so sad to be going home. I'm going to miss you guys like crazy" said Sonia.

"We'll miss you too Grandma. Please remember to check your calendar to let us know when you'll be able to join us on the road" said Tegan.

"I will, should be fun. I haven't had the chance to tell you yet but, I've made an offer on a little place about 3 blocks from here" smiled Sonia.

"You have? That's great mom! We looooove having you around. We're gonna miss you. The kids were just getting used to having you around" said Tegan and hugged her mom.

The two vans carrying the Quin entourage were greeted by hoards of fans at the airport. Tegan held her cool just fine, it was Sara who seemed shaken up. Kate made sure she got her into the building really fast.

"And they say I have anxiety issues… look at her" said Tegan.

"She just has a hard time with crowds these days Tee… you can understand that can't you?" said Lindsey.

"Sure I understand" shrugged Tegan.

"Hey Tee… you okay?" asked Kate as they waited for the security guys to bring their luggage inside.

"I'm good thanks" smiled Tegan bouncing Casey up and down on her hip.

"You'll tell me if you need an anxiety pill?" said Kate.

"Yeah… I want to try my best to go without it though" said Tegan.

"I understand that… listen Tee… just talk to me okay. Go easy on yourself" said Kate.

"Hundred percent…. Open channels here bud. Don't mind me, Sara needs you" said Tegan and put Casey into the stroller that the security guy just pushed up to her.

"Hi girls, ready for action?" asked Tom walking up to them with Tegan's assistant Anna.

"Hey! Ready as we'll ever be" smiled Tegan.

"Here you go, you've been checked in. I've reserved a private area in the VIP lounge for you" said Anna, Tegan's very eager 27 year old assistant.

"Wow, thanks Anna. When's Kirsten coming to New York?" asked Tegan.

"The two of us will be on another flight with the rest of the crew, leaves about two hours after yours. Don't worry Tegan, I'll manage her" said Anna.

Sara smiled as Anna walked away. "As long as you don't fuck her" she laughed.

"What are you talking about?" frowned Tegan.

"Nothing… joking" said Sara shaking her head.

"Where's Jason?" asked Tegan, referring to Sara's new assistant.

"I don't know, he's a bit useless" said Sara.

"Wow… told you he was bad news" said Tegan.

"Oh relax, he'll be in New York by morning… trust me" said Sara.

Tegan turned around and saw 4 security guards holding back fans and paps.

"Tell me they're coming with us" said Sara nervously to Tom.

"Yeah, they're going with you. They'll be back in economy though. This is kind of weird. You're these huge superstars now. Say goodbye to your anonymity" said Tom.

"Not what I want to hear… but thanks" said Tegan.

A fancy looking airline representative led the girls to the private security clearance.

"Oh yay… my favourite part of travelling" said Tegan sarcastically, rolling her eyes.

"Relax, breathe deep. Its okay" said Sara suddenly remembering Tegan's freak out the last time they had to go through security. She suddenly felt nervous for the flight.

"Yep" said Tegan pushing the stroller.

"Ms Quin, Ms Byrnes… welcome. We're going to need to send the stroller through the scanner, without these beautiful babies obviously. Can I help you take them out?" asked a friendly lady.

"Um… sure, thanks" said Tegan, pleasantly surprised.

Tegan put some carry-on items through the scanner and walked through carrying Ryan.

"Hey big guy" said the guy behind the x-ray. Ryan laughed and showed his two bottom teeth.

"Ms Quin, can I open this bag please?" he asked looking very friendly.

"Here we go again" mumbled Tegan.

"Excuse me?" asked the security guy.

"Nothing… sure, open it" said Tegan with a sigh.

Tegan felt around her bag for the letter she needed to carry the oxygen concentrator on-board.

The guy looked at the little machine and zipped it up again.

"This is fine, thank you so much. Have a great flight" he said without asking further questions.

"Don't you need the letter?" asked Tegan.

The guy laughed. "No m'am. Oxygen concentrators are allowed"

"Great… well… thank you" said Tegan as the lady helped her strap Ryan in the stroller again.

"You're very welcome" they smiled.

"What a difference first class makes huh" smiled Sara as she came through the scanner followed by Kate and Amelia.

"Ladies, please follow me. We have a special private lounge ready for you" said the airline representative.

"Wow… how painless was that?" said Tegan.

The girls received full VIP treatment and were ready to board the plane after relaxing for an hour in the lounge.

"Ladies, please take your time. Relax, we'll come get you once the rest of the plane has boarded" said the friendly airline representative.

All three kids were getting fussy, they were all way past their nap times.

Somebody assisted them and carried their bags to the plane and took the strollers to be stowed away. The girls weren't bothered by any fans and hardly saw another person before boarding the plane.

"This is the way to travel" said Lindsey watching an air hostess put their bags into the overhead compartments. The first class cabin was relatively empty, and the girls had seats open next to them. Tegan was relieved as she wasn't looking forward to having a baby on her lap the entire flight.

Tegan was starting to feel a bit on edge as Casey fussed in her arms.

"Okay sweetie pie… we'll be on our way soon snookums. Just hang tight" she whispered.

Sara sat down behind her holding Amelia.

"You okay?" whispered Kate from behind her.

"I'm okay… I think" said Tegan softly.

"Want me to take her?" asked Kate.

"No… she just wants her mommy" said Tegan.

"M'am, your seatbelt please and then the extension for the baby" said an air hostess.

Tegan did as instructed but Casey didn't like it one bit. Ryan was also getting fussy on the other side of the isle.

"Okay sweetie… calm down… here's your binky" said Tegan putting Casey's pacifier in her mouth. Casey yanked it out looking mad and started screaming.

"Oh jeez" mumbled Tegan.

"Alright honey… go to sleep" she said stroking her back softly.

"M'am, she's going to need to face forward for take-off please" said the airhostess.

Tegan seemed close to tears herself by now as she turned an irate Casey around.

"I know you don't like this sweetie… okay Casey… it's okay mommy's here. Hey we're going in an airplane!" said Tegan.

Somebody in front of her gave a dramatic, annoyed sigh.

"I'm sorry" said Tegan.

"Where's her bottle? I think she's hungry" said Tegan.

"We need hot water and they're not going to give it to us right now" said Lindsey.

"Is it her diaper?" said Tegan trying to smell.

"I checked it in the lounge" said Lindsey.

"Please Casey…. Shhh angel…. It's okay" whispered Tegan and tried the pacifier again.

By this time Amelia was also starting to act up. The plane started taxying. Tegan was now softly humming to Casey and rocking her softly. Five minutes into the air Casey, Ryan and Amelia were all still crying. They weren't screaming their lungs out but they weren't happy campers.

"Can you please do something to quiet them down" said a posh looking lady snapping her head around.

"What do you think we're doing?" said Tegan annoyed.

The seatbelt light went off and Tegan immediately turned Casey around and let her lie on her chest.

"M'am, can I get you anything?" said the airhostess.

"Some hot water please" said Tegan. She closed her eyes and hopped Casey up and down.

"They shouldn't allow kids in first class" said the snobby lady to her husband.

"Excuse me lady… these babies have as much right to be here as you do. Calm down! They'll settle down once they've had their bottles" said Lindsey annoyed.

"Scream away Casey" said Tegan sarcastically.

"They need a man's authority. Two woman having kids… I ask you" said the lady quite loudly.

"Lady… just… shut up okay" said Tegan.

"I'll shut up when your babies shut up" said the lady.

"Okay everybody… calm down" said the airhostess handing Lindsey the water.

"Give it to me Linds… I'll do it" said Kate. She calmly started making the bottles.

"Can you believe that cow" said Sara softly while bouncing Amelia on her lap.

"Just ignore her… she's not worth it" said Kate shaking the first bottle. Lindsey had the foresight to pack some cooled down boiled water to mix with the hot water. Kate handed the bottle to Tegan. Casey immediately took it and started sucking through her stifled sobs.

"That's it… there we go… when you wake up we'll annoy the lady some more and then you can have a nice dinner and some play time" said Tegan softly.

Casey put her hand into Tegan's shirt the way she always did while drinking her bottle. She rubbed the soft skin above Tegan's bra up and down softly.

"Mommy loves you… yes I do beautiful Casey" cooed Tegan, suddenly in her own little balloon with her baby.

The cabin was suddenly very quiet as all three babies happily drank their bottles. Lindsey looked over at Tegan and smiled.

A few minutes later Tegan reclined the seat next to her to make a flat bed. "Damn I love first class" she whispered and winked at Lindsey. The friendly air hostess helped Tegan put sheets on the flat seat and turn it into a proper bed. She brought her a pillow and a child sized duvet.

"O wow… I'm sure she's going to sleep like a log now" said Tegan and gently put Casey down.

"We just need to buckle her in" smiled the airhostess.

"Thank you… it can get difficult to travel with little ones. You've just made it much easier" said Tegan.

"My pleasure Miss Quin. Your time to relax now, can I bring you something to drink and the menu?" asked the airhostess.

"Thanks but… is it okay if I do that later. When the kids sleep, I sleep" laughed Tegan.

"Of course… allow me to make your bed" said the girl.

Tegan stood behind Sara's chair.

"God bless the record company for this" joked Tegan.

"Well, I made a deal with them… told them that this was nice and all but they're making us used to luxury and they would need to keep it up" said Sara.

"Yeah right… we're going to have to cough up" said Tegan.

"They said that if we have a number one single, they'll pay for every flight on tour and upgrade every flight to first class" said Sara.

"Wow… they probably don't think we can do it. By the way how is the single doing anyway? Haven't really been… paying attention the last few days" said Tegan.

"It's going great. We'll know tomorrow where we are. It's been getting lots of airplay. I've said it before…. Anywhere in the top 20 would be fine with me" said Sara.

"Yeah well… that's far from number one…. So don't get too comfy I guess" said Tegan.

Tegan lay down in her airplane bed and sighed. She opened her eyes and saw Kate hover over her.

"How are you feeling?" she asked.

"I'm good… perfectly fine thanks" said Tegan and closed her eyes again.

"I'm right here if you need me okay" said Kate.

"Thanks bud" said Tegan, her eyes still closed.

Kate pulled the duvet over Tegan and switched the light in the overhead panel off.

"Get some rest" she whispered and pulled the privacy screen closed.

Tegan fell asleep fast but was woken up by some kind of commotion in the row in front of her.

"Sir just breathe for me… you're okay" said the air hostess.

Tegan got up and saw the husband of the annoying older lady that had a mouth full about the crying kids clutch his chest.

"Attention please, if there's a doctor or any medical personnel on the flight please make your way to the front of the plane" said somebody over the intercom.

Tegan jumped around and shook Kate's shoulder.

"Kate they need a doctor, wake up" she said loudly. Kate was used to be one hundred percent awake in a second or two after years of sleeping in on call rooms. She jumped up and rushed to the front of first class.

"Make room please" said Kate.

"M'am we've got this" said an air hostess trying to comfort the lady clutching her chest.

"I'm a doctor… move please. Go get the medical kit" said Kate.

"Sir… I'm going to help you okay… what's your name?" asked Kate with her fingers in the man's neck.

"Uh… uh… Adam… Haskel" gasped the man.

"Does he have any medical history, is he on any medication?" Kate asked his wife.

"Um… no…. yes, I think he's on cholesterol meds" said the wife.

"Okay Adam, breathe for me… I've got you" said Kate.

"Who are you?" asked the lady rudely.

"I'm Dr Morgan... relax for me Adam" said Kate not looking at the lady.

"Doctor?" said the lady looking at the small tattoo on Kate's tricep.

"What I don't look like a doctor?" laughed Kate.

The man just tried to catch his breath, his wife didn't reply.

"Alright Adam… that's it… just breathe" said Kate calmly.

"Can I help?" asked Tegan.

"Not right now Tee… thanks. Actually, grab me a bottle of water please" said Kate.

Tegan looked petrified and paced around confused.

"Please everybody else just stay seated" said a flight attendant.

The man moaned loudly and went limp.

"Adam… come on Mr H…. Adam wake up" said Kate feeling for a pulse.

"I've lost his pulse… let's get him on the floor right now" said Kate.

An air hostess helped Kate get the man on the floor.

"Where's the AED? Tell the pilot to land the plane, medical emergency" yelled Kate.

Kate ripped the man's shirt open and started CPR as one of the air-hostesses opened the medical kit. At least the space to work was a lot bigger in first class than anywhere else.

"Get the pads on him first then we can bag him" said Kate calmly. The girl did as instructed.

A middle age woman burst into first class and knelt down next to Kate.

"I'm a nurse, I can help" she said.

"Great, take over compressions please" said Kate.

Tegan stared at the events unfolding in front of her. Her hands shaking. She felt a hand on her back.

"Baby come sit down please" said Lindsey softly.

"Yeah" whispered Tegan looking pale.

The speaker over her head started crackling. "Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a serious medical emergency on board and we need to divert and land the plane. We apologise for any inconvenience. We'll keep you updated. Please put your seats in the upright position and buckle your seatbelts" said the pilot. Tegan felt the plane pick up speed.

"Okay he's in v-fib… let's shock at 200. Go onto manual mode please" Tegan heard Kate say.

Tegan put her head in her hands, she suddenly felt nauseous, her heart was racing.

"Everyone clear… shock" said Kate. Tegan saw the man's body jump.

Tegan exhaled slowly and looked away. The air hostess picked a sleeping Casey up and put her on Tegan's lap.

"She needs to be in your arms for the landing" she said.

"No… again… 300…. Shocking…. No output. Injecting epi into the thigh… okay, another shock" she heard Kate's distinct voice.

"You okay Tee?" Tegan heard Sara behind her.

Tegan nodded silently, scared that she may burst into tears if she spoke.

"That's it… I have a pulse…. Yup, strong output" Tegan heard Kate say. Tegan burst into tears.

"It's okay baby…. He's okay" said Lindsey.

"Oxygen… Give me that cannula… we need to start a line" said Kate.

Tegan felt the plane start to descend, she felt her airways start to close up.

"I need… I need my inhaler… can't breathe" she wheezed and felt around her pockets with one free hand. Casey was still fast asleep on her lap. Lindsey pushed the service button.

"I need help here" Lindsey shouted. Ryan was on her lap, he moved a bit and slept further. Tegan always bragged that her kids could sleep through anything.

A male flight attendant came running up to her.

"Please take the baby… now" Lindsey yelled.

"M'am we have to prepare for landing, please stay seated" said the guy.

"This IS a medical emergency" yelled Lindsey and pointed at Tegan.

The guy took Casey from Tegan. Tegan felt around her pockets, now desperate.

"Jacket Tee… take it easy. You're okay" said Lindsey.

Tegan wheezed some more.

"Tegan! Shit… help her" said Sara loudly with Amelia on her lap.

Kate heard the commotion and looked up after starting an IV.

"Tegan? You okay?" she said loudly.

Tegan didn't reply but opened the overhead compartment in a desperate search of her jacket. Her wheezing got worse by the second.

Kate jumped up and ran towards Tegan. She yanked the jacket from where it was pushed into the back. Tegan was light headed now and she stumbled around.

"Sit down" said Kate and pushed her into the seat. She put Tegan's inhaler into her mouth.

"On three… that's it… again Tee, on three" she said calmly. Tegan felt her airways open up slowly.

"Breathe… deep breaths… it's okay… you're okay" said Kate.

Tegan nodded with her eyes closed.

"Doctor we need you" Kate heard somebody call.

"Breathe Tegan…. I'll be back. Linds, yell if she needs me" said Kate.

"Everybody take your seats for landing" somebody said over the intercom.

Kate of course didn't move from her patient. She looked up at Tegan, then at Lindsey. "She okay?" she mouthed. Lindsey nodded looking scared.

Tegan was still not breathing comfortably. "Where's Casey… Casey" she mumbled.

"The flight attendant has her Tee, look right over there" said Lindsey pointing at the guy sitting in one of the empty seats.

"Breathe Tegan" said Lindsey.

"Tegan?" said Sara from behind.

Tegan just put her arm up and gave a thumbs up.

"Everybody else take your seats" said Kate.

"You too Doc" said an airhostess.

"No I'm good here. I need to stay with him to help him breathe" said Kate.

"Okay… hang on though" said the girl.

A minute later the plane hit the tarmac and started breaking. Kate fell backwards onto her wrist. "Ahh fuck" she mumbled as the patient came skidding towards her. She held on to the man, clearly in a bit of pain.

The aircraft came to an abrupt landing. A minute later the doors flew open and paramedics scrambled in. Kate couldn't squeeze the bag with her injured hand at all. She felt like screaming in pain. She switched hands and painfully held the mask over the guys face with her injured hand as her healthy hand squeezed the bag. She did a handover and helped the medics get the man on a stretcher.

"Thank you… thank you Doctor. Sorry about earlier" said the lady.

"No problem… and you're welcome… good luck. I think he's going to be okay" said Kate.

Kate jogged up to Tegan who still had her eyes closed, clutching the arm rests.

"Tegan… buddy look at me" said Kate.

Tegan was still breathing fast and heavy. She opened her eyes.

"I think… I need one of those anxiety pills" she said softly.

"Okay… just breathe Tegan" said Kate taking out the pulse ox meter and oxygen concentrator.

"Alright Tee… it's okay" said Lindsey.

"Doctor… do we need to call the medics for this passenger too" asked a flight attendant.

"No, we're good here thanks" said Kate.

"Doctor are you sure?" she repeated.

"I'm sure… Yes!" said Kate and sat down next to Tegan.

"Um… baby" said the male flight attendant holding Casey.

"Can you give us one minute please… just a minute" said Kate slightly annoyed. The senior flight attendant walked up to them.

"Jason, could you please sit down with the baby. Doctor, take your time please. They need to remove the two passenger's luggage before we can take off again and we'll probably be stuck on the runway for a while anyway" said the flight attendant.

"Thank you so much" said Kate and sat down next to Tegan. She took her wrist in her hand and checked her pulse. Kate's hand and wrist were screaming in pain.

"Deep breaths" said Kate. She put the pulse ox on Tegan's finger before taking a pill out of her bag and handing it to Tegan.

"Here you go… you're okay… everything's okay" said Kate in her calm and gentle way.

Tegan put the pill in her mouth with a shaky hand and swallowed it with some bottled water.

"Your pulse ox is a bit low but it's coming up. Keep breathing… hopefully we won't need the oxygen" said Kate.

Kate sat with Tegan for about 20 minutes before the head flight attendant informed them that the plane was about to take off again. She tried handing Casey over to Kate but Tegan opened her eyes and held her arms out.

"Thanks, I've got her" she mumbled.

"Kate stay next to her" said Sara.

"Yeah" said Kate holding her wrist in her hand.

"Feeling better?" asked Kate.

"Yes, a lot calmer… thank you. Breathing's back to normal too" said Tegan.

"Good. So is your heart rate and your sats" smiled Kate.

"I'm sorry about that" said Tegan.

"No problem" said Kate.

"You were amazing" said Tegan.

"Just doing…" said Kate before being cut off by Tegan.

"No you weren't just doing your job" said Tegan.

"Doing the right thing I mean" laughed Kate.

"Are you okay? You look shaken up" said Tegan.

"Yeah… I'm always a bit… shaken up after a resus" said Kate.

"I can imagine… hard core stuff. Fuck I was a wreck just seeing it" said Tegan.

"That's a different thing bud" laughed Kate.

The seatbelt sign came on and Kate struggled to clip the buckle in with her sore hand.

"You okay? Are you hurt?" said Tegan watching Kate struggle.

"I just fell onto my wrist when the plane landed. Think it's just a sprain" said Kate clearly in pain.

"Give me that" said Tegan looking worried.

"It's nothing" said Kate.

"Holy crap Kate… look at it, it's really swollen!" said Tegan.

The plane was in the air again and Tegan pressed the service button.

"Can we have some ice please, in a bag or something? Dr Morgan hurt her wrist while helping that man" said Tegan.

"It's nothing…. Really" said Kate.

"Shut up, you're the patient now" said Tegan and reclined her chair and put her feet up.

"Of course! We've actually got some emergency ice packs. Oh hey cutie pie" said the flight attendant looking at Casey.

Tegan heard a soft coo and looked at Casey in her arms. Casey giggled softly.

"Hey girl… how long have you been awake? Did you have a nice nap?" smiled Tegan.

"Katy… come back here" said Sara kissing Kate's hair from behind.

"Okay… call me if you need me Tegan" said Kate.

Tegan got up and talked to Sara.

"She hurt herself… they're bringing some ice. Pamper her, I think she's feeling a bit fragile. She looks a bit pale too" said Tegan.

"Will do… You okay now?" asked Sara.

"Yeah… I think so" said Tegan.

"Good… oh hey, at least we have first class to ourselves… well almost" said Sara pointing at the only other passenger in first class, he was sleeping with an eye mask on and some noise cancelling earphones on.

Kate sat down next to Sara and was about to recline her seat when she jumped up and jogged to the toilet.

Tegan looked at Sara and pulled her shoulders up. The sounds of Kate vomiting could be heard into the cabin.

"That does not sound good" said Tegan pulling a face.

"Jeez you think she's okay? Can you keep an eye on Amelia while I go check" said Sara. Amelia was sitting on the large first class seat next to Sara's playing with some colourful toys.

"Katy… baby" said Sara softly knocking on the door.

"I'm okay… go away" said Kate.

"Kate… open up" said Sara.

"I'm fine… I'll be out in a minute" said Kate.

"You sure?" said Sara.

"Uh huh" grunted Kate.

A few minutes later Kate came out looking a bit green.

"Sweetie what's wrong?" asked Sara.

"I don't know… maybe I ate something" said Kate.

"Hmmm…. I don't think so" said Sara putting her hand on Kate's forehead.

"Don't think you have a fever" said Sara.

"I think… that whole scenario earlier just… upset me… and it only sunk in now" said Kate.

"Oh sweetie" cooed Sara.

"What the hell though… Puking after a resus… what am I? A first year intern?" said Kate annoyed.

"Kate… you've been through a hell of a lot of stress these last few days. I think it got to you more than you'd like to admit" said Sara.

"I don't know… maybe" said Kate softly.

"Put your feet up…. Here's a blankie for you. Just relax now. I've asked the flight attendant to bring you some ginger tea" said Sara.

"Thanks baby… Fuck I wish my medical bag wasn't checked in. What was I thinking" said Kate.

"Doctor Morgan. I've taken the liberty of getting you some nausea medication and here's that ginger tea. Can I bring you something else?" asked the nice lady.

Kate sighed. "Thank you… I'm fine" said Kate.

"Here's that ice pack" said another flight attendant.

"Oh you're the big hero now huh… everybody is just jumping to help Doctor Morgan" joked Sara after they left.

Kate just huffed and put the ice pack around her wrist and onto her hand.

"You seem to be in a lot of pain Kate… can you take something for it?" asked Sara.

"Just some over the counter stuff like ibuprofen and Tylenol I'm afraid" said Kate.

"We should have this checked out in New York" said Sara.

"I'm fine okay… I'm good" said Kate closing her eyes.

"Kate… you don't get to fuck around when it comes to your hands babe… they're your livelihood okay. You need to take care of them" said Sara.

"I know… I'm sorry, I'll see how it feels when we get to New York. From my own little… assessment I think I may have cracked or broken the scaphoid" said Kate.

"The what?" asked Sara.

"The little bone here where the forefinger and the thumb come together in your hand. It's very common if you fall on your hand" said Kate.

"Oh sweetie pie" said Sara and kissed Kate's hand.

"Ouchie!" moaned Kate.

"Your wrist is swollen too babe" said Sara.

"Think its just sprained" said Kate.

"Get some rest… I'll entertain Am and feed her dinner" smiled Sara.

A/N: Poor Kate, the stress seems to finally be getting to her. Another chapter coming in a few minutes. Review please!
