Kate lay back in Sara's arms with a bowl of popcorn on her lap after she tucked Amelia in bed.
"I love just hanging out with you" smiled Sara and kissed Kate's amazing smelling hair while running her hands up and down Kate's toned upper arms.
"That's good because you're going to be doing it for a long, long time when we get married" laughed Kate.
"Don't make me get cold feet" joked Sara.
"Want me to warm them for you?" said Kate seductively and turned her head around.
"I want you to take it easy please" said Sara sternly.
"I'm good… sooo good" whispered Kate and kissed Sara's jawbone.
Sara put her hand on Kate's forehead.
"You seem to have a bit of a fever again" said Sara.
"Oh yeah baby… that's because you give me fever…. In the morning… fever all through the night" Kate sang playfully.
"Cool your Jets Dr Morgan" said Sara.
"How about joining me for a cool shower" said Kate kissing Sara's hands.
"We can't… we're babysitting" said Sara.
"Oh come on, we can take the monitors into the bathroom" said Kate turning around to kiss Sara's neck.
"Babe… you're insatiable" laughed Sara.
Kate grunted.
"We can take a cool bath. I really am still worried, you're like a furnace" said Sara. She reached for the thermometer on the coffee table and put it in Kate's ear.
"Babe… must you?" said Kate annoyed.
"Yes… shhh" said Sara and looked at the result.
"101.1" said Sara.
"That's fine… it's low grade, don't worry about it" said Kate.
"Why do you keep getting them though?" said Sara sitting up.
"Beats me" said Kate kissing Kate's neck again.
"Babe you're the doctor remember…. You're not exactly trying to figure it out here" said Sara.
"I don't know Sar… I swear I have no idea what this is" said Kate.
"Oh baby… I'm so worried about you. I don't want you sick. Should they run some blood tests?" asked Sara.
"No sweetie… if my fever hasn't broken by tomorrow we can go back to the ER. If I go there now, they'll laugh at me. Meanwhile I'll take some Tylenol" said Kate.
"It breaks and then it comes back though… Kate please, I just need you to be okay" said Sara.
"Heeeey, I'm fine baby. I promise. I'm not that stupid, as much as I hate being a patient I know when to seek further medical attention… and it's not now" said Kate.
"You know what happened the last time I ignored a fever… Yeah… my sister ended up in the critical care unit on fucking life support! She almost died!" yelled Sara and jumped up.
"Sar I'm sorry… Sara… it's okay. I'm okay. This is not the same kind of thing babe" said Kate and took Sara in her arms.
"What if it is?" said Sara softly punching Kate's chest.
"Sweetie I promise… if it gets worse or if it's not gone by morning I'll go back to the ER" said Kate holding Sara.
Sara was still crying but got a grip on her emotions a minutes later. "I don't think you understand how much you mean to me… you're my whole world Kate. I can't lose you"
"Fuck Sara… I think you may be overreacting slightly. What the… You're not going to lose me!" said Kate seemingly losing her temper slightly.
"Am I? Overreacting?" said Sara.
Kate's shoulders fell and she looked down.
"Sara… It's probably just a slight infection or some kind of inflammation from the wrist" said Kate.
"I'm not sold" said Sara.
"I listened to my chest earlier. Lungs are completely clear, heart sounds good, pulse only slightly elevated. There's no tenderness anywhere around my abdomen. I don't have a headache any more. My pupils are fine, no sensitivity to light, no muscle rigidity. Those are the main symptoms that would get my attention as a physician. I promise you… if I thought for one minute this was something serious I WOULD go see a professional" said Kate.
Sara took a deep breath to calm down.
"Okay… I trust you" she said softly after a long moment with her forehead against Kate's.
"How about that bath?" asked Kate.
"I'd love to… bring the baby monitors" smiled Sara.

Tegan and Lindsey entered the empty elevator. Tegan had instructed the security personnel to wait in the lobby. She softly pushed Lindsey into the wall and put her face in her neck. She breathed in deep.
"Good lord you smell amazing" she whispered.
"So do you lover" Lindsey smiled and took Tegan's face in her hands.
"You don't understand what you do to me" whispered Tegan and kissed Lindsey's eager mouth.
The elevator made a ping sound and Tegan broke the kiss and stepped back as the doors opened. An elderly couple entered the elevator.
"Good evening" Tegan nodded and put one hand in her pants pocket.
"Good evening" they both smiled.
Tegan ran her fingers through her hair absentmindedly as if to ease the arousal she felt between her legs.
Lindsey looked at her and winked as she ran her tongue over her lips.
Tegan took a deep, shuddering breath and turned her gaze to the numbers over the door in order to not jump Lindsey that very second. Lindsey hooked her little finger into Tegan's. Tegan closed her eyes to steady herself.
Ping.
"Have a lovely evening" Tegan smiled when she opened her eyes.
Tegan took the whole of Lindsey's hand in hers and left the elevator after the other couple.
"Wish we could lose the heat" said Tegan gesturing over to the bodyguards.
"Baby… you've got the number one single in the whole fucking country… We don't want the masses to overwhelm and bother us" joked Lindsey.
"Well… I don't see a single fan… or pap" laughed Tegan. She nodded at the head of security that automatically started following them with another guard in tow. Tegan and Lindsey exited the turning hotel doors and was awaited by masses of screaming fans and paps.
"Holy shit… there must be a celeb staying here" said Tegan innocently.
Lindsey laughed out of her belly. The fans started shouting Tegan's name loudly.
"Oh…" said Tegan and swallowed hard.
Jeff put his hand on Tegan's shoulder. "We have a car waiting, you don't need to interact" he said.
"No don't worry, its fine. Linds… 5 minutes?" asked Tegan.
"Sure baby" smiled Lindsey and pulled out her phone to take pictures, always wanting to document, as Tegan walked over to the fans.
"Hey guys… what are you all doing here? Oh thank you, we're super excited… Yeah, can't wait to do a show for you. Guys I'm so sorry, we need to go but we have a fan meet and greet session outside Radio 1 on Friday if you want to stop by" said Tegan still signing some stuff and posing for a few selfies.
Tegan took Lindsey's hand and tugged her towards the car while still waiving to fans. Lindsey smiled knowing that Tegan was in her element with all this attention.
"Wow" smiled Tegan in the back of the car.
"Yeah… wow" said Lindsey kissing Tegan's cheek.
"Jeff… as exciting as that was, I would really like as much privacy as possible with my wife tonight" said Tegan.
"Of course" said Jeff.
Tegan pressed a button that rolled up the privacy screen in the fancy car and unbuckled her seatbelt.
"No No... seatbelt please" said Lindsey.
Tegan sighed dramatically and put her seatbelt back on.
"Sorry sweetie… safety first" said Lindsey.
"You're such a tease" said Tegan and leaned over to kiss Lindsey.

"It's freezing" she complained.

A cry escaped the baby monitor on the floor.

"It will make me feel better… help me relax" moaned Kate as Sara got out of the bath.
"Lie back, relax, I'm going to check on the kids" said Sara pulling on a robe.
It only took a few minutes to settle Amelia and check on the twins. Sara walked back into the bathroom to find Kate fast asleep in the tub.
Sara smiled and reached for the thermometer. She gently put it in Kate's ear on silent mode.
The light flashed and Sara looked at the results. 100.5, still not normal but better. She sat down on the side of the bathtub and put a new cool cloth on Kate's forehead.
"Mmm hey" grunted Kate through a smile.
"Hey sleepy head" said Sara softly.
"Get back in here" said Kate.
"No sweetie… not today. Let's get you cooled down and in bed" said Sara.
"I'm not tired, I slept half the day" said Kate, she sounded exhausted though.
"Sure, that's why you just fell asleep in the bathtub right" said Sara.
"I was just relaxing" said Kate shaking her head and looking away. Twenty minutes later Kate's temperature was down to a decent 100 and Sara helped her out of the bathtub, dried her off and led her to her waiting bed.
"BP time" said Sara.
Kate just sighed.
"How's your arm?" asked Sara.
"Sore" answered Kate. Sara frowned at Kate's one word answer.
"What kind of meds can I get you?" asked Sara.
"Nothing… I'm fine... Thanks" sighed Kate.
"BP's 101 over 66. It just seems to keep hovering around that level" said Sara frowning.
"I usually have lowish blood pressure Sar. With my kind of fitness level my BP is low, that's a good thing… In general I mean" said Kate.
"Okay Super Girl. Let's get to bed" said Sara.
"Told you, I'm not really that tired" said Kate.
"Well I am… exhausted" laughed Sara.
Sara lay with her head on Kate's chest as Kate drew little circles on her back. Sara was surprised to find that after only a few minutes it was Kate who was asleep first.

Tegan reached over the table and softly touched her wife's cheek before entwining their fingers. The restaurant was one of Tegan's favourites because not only was the food amazing, it had a single booth around a corner that guaranteed privacy. The guards could sit around the corner and know they're safe without constantly having to keep an eye on them. The owner knew Tegan and has always treated her like a VIP even back when she was everything but. The restaurant wasn't packed, just the way Tegan wanted it.
"Ladies, Moët & Chandon" said the owner and presented the bottle of Champagne.
"Oh… we haven't ordered yet" said Tegan.
"Compliments of management. To celebrate your amazing success" he winked.
"Thank you so much, that's very kind of you" smiled Tegan.
"Ladies, enjoy" said the owner and disappeared around the corner after filling up the champagne flutes.
"Oh I like this special treatment a number one single gets you... French champagne!" said Lindsey and held up her glass.
Tegan just blushed and looked down. She felt a foot slowly run up the leg of her pants.
"To you my love" smiled Lindsey.
"No… to us… to life and love and happiness and sex and family and music" smiled Tegan.
"Cheers" said Lindsey and took a sip before cocking her head staring at Tegan.
"What?" asked Tegan uncomfortably.
"Nothing… I just love looking at you because you're gorgeous… and your mine" smiled Lindsey.
"Listen Linds… hang on… I need to… um" said Tegan looking nervous.
"You don't need to do anything" smiled Lindsey.
Tegan took a deep breath. "I do… I need to apologise… again… for everything… I can't believe how incredibly lucky I am to have you…. You make my heart sing, I just want to say thank you… for loving me… for… forgiving me. I don't deserve you" said Tegan squeezing Lindsey's hands.
"Boo… no more apologies… It's over" said Lindsey and kissed Tegan's knuckles. "Oh and… you're welcome" winked Lindsey.

Tegan and Lindsey had an amazing evening of fresh Thai food, champagne and just talking, about anything.
Tegan had since moved into the other side of the booth so she could be right next to Lindsey. She fed her a bite of sorbet.

"I really want another baby Linds… I'll do it, I'll be pregnant" smiled Tegan, excited as a schoolgirl asking for a kitten.
Lindsey put her hand on Tegan's cheek.
"How can I ever resist that smile? Of course we can have another one, but please just get through this tour first" smiled Lindsey.
"Deal" winked Tegan.
"Ladies, some coffee, tea, dessert wine?" asked the waiter.
"I'll have a pot of green tea please" said Tegan.
"Okay… Make that two" said Lindsey.
"I thought dinner was going to be quick" Lindsey said while touching the tip of Tegan's nose with her finger.
"I'm just having such a good time being here with you… just the two of us, talking. I don't want it to end" said Tegan.
"Me neither… however, I CAN guarantee a happy ending" whispered Lindsey into Tegan's ear.
Tegan gave nervous giggle took a deep breath. "Excuse me just a minute, I really need the ladies room" said Tegan.
Tegan walked past the bodyguards, one got up and followed Tegan to the toilets. He stopped outside.
Tegan paced around the ladies room in a feeble attempt to get rid or her sexual frustration. She really wanted to splash her face with cold water but she just realised it would ruin her makeup. She pulled out her inhaler for a quick puff. Two minutes later she headed back to her wife. The tea was already waiting on the table.
"Better?" smiled Lindsey.
"I missed you" whispered Tegan and kissed Lindsey's soft lips. Lindsey looked around to make sure they were alone.
Lindsey softly kissed Tegan's neck as she played with the hair in her neck. Tegan moaned softly.

"Let's get out of here" smiled Tegan.
"Would you like to walk back, it's such a beautiful evening" said Tegan as the exited the restaurant.
"You need a breather huh" joked Lindsey.
"Ha... not really, but the night is still young and I'm enjoying your company, all of it" said Tegan smiling.
"Okay, let's walk" said Lindsey.
Tegan was relieved that they weren't followed to the restaurant and they seemed to have gone by unrecognised by the patrons.
"We're gonna walk Jeff... it's only a couple of blocks and it's really nice next to the park here" said Tegan.
"Okay Mrs Quin... we're right behind you" said Jeff.
"How many times do I have to tell you to call me Tegan"
"Okay... Tegan" laughed Jeff.
Tegan and Lindsey slowly strolled back to the hotel hand in hand. It was a warm evening and they could smell trees and grass coming from Central Park.
"I love New York this time of the year" said Tegan.
"Me too" smiled Lindsey as two joggers past them.
"I need to go for a jog in the park... maybe tomorrow" said Tegan.
"Just take your inhaler" said Lindsey.
"Kate said it's good if I get some exercise" said Tegan.
"I know... I just want you to be safe. Take it slow and take somebody with you" said Lindsey.
"I will... don't worry" said Tegan putting her arm around Lindsey's waist.
"Thank you for tonight Tegan... I really enjoyed it" smiled Lindsey.
"Me too. We really should make time for date night more often" said Tegan.
They stopped across the road from their hotel. Photographers were still crowding the front entrance.
"Ugh... here we go" said Lindsey.
"Smile and wave babe, smile and wave" Tegan laughed as they crossed the street. The two body guards were right behind them now, like shadows.
Tegan just waved as they entered the hotel, unwilling to make smalltalk with the paps.
"Welcome back Mrs Quin, Mrs Byrnes" smiled the doorman.
"Thank you" smiled Tegan and made a beeline for the elevator, still holding Lindsey's hand.
"Goodnight guys" said Tegan as the elevator opened.
"We'll escort you to your room" said Jeff.
"No that's fine. Go get some rest" said Tegan.
"It's no trouble, we're on the same floor" said Jeff.
Tegan sighed and turned to face Lindsey rolling her eyes. Jeff slid his security card into the elevator slot to allow them access to the restricted floor.

Kate woke up in excruciating pain. She had no idea what time it was but she felt terrible. She was completely drenched, so were her pyjamas and the sheets. She breathed hard and fast and put her fingers in her neck. Her pulse was racing. She curled up on her side and groaned. A minute later she stumbled to the bathroom and closed the door softly to not wake up Sara before violently vomiting into the toilet.
"Fuck… fuck" she whispered while clinging to the porcelain. Her entire body was shivering and she couldn't shake the choking nausea. A sudden stabbing pain hit her abdomen.
"Aaahhhh" she moaned and clutched her stomach, still on her knees.
A few seconds later the vomiting started again. Kate dragged herself up and looked at herself in the mirror. She looked like absolute death warmed up. She rinsed with mouthwash and splashed cold water over her face before heading back into the dark room.

It felt like ages before the elevator doors finally opened. The shadows followed Tegan and Lindsey to the door.
"Goodnight guys. Thanks for everything" said Tegan opening the door.
"Goodnight ladies. Please call if you need us" said Jeff and turned around.
"Ladies" said the other guard who hardly ever spoke.
"Finally" laughed Tegan as they tiptoed their way to their room.
"Hang on, let me check on the kids" said Tegan.
"Make it quick lover" said Lindsey but followed Tegan into the inter leading room anyway.
Tegan looked down at her sleeping babies and smiled. "How fucking adorable are they" she cooed and put her arms around Lindsey's waist and her chin on her shoulder.
"Almost as adorable as you" whispered Lindsey.
Tegan turned off the baby monitor. The room was right next to theirs and they would have no difficulty hearing the kids during the night. She didn't want to wake up Kate and Sara to get the other half of the monitor. She left the inter leading door open a crack to make sure.
"We better keep it down" whispered Tegan.
"That's going to be... challenging" said Lindsey softly and pushed Tegan back with her finger onto the bed. She slowly and seductively started undressing for Tegan. Tegan was propped up on her elbows enjoying the show.
"Hurry up hot stuff" she said as she pulled off her jacket.
"No no... I'll do it" whispered Lindsey and leaned naked over Tegan, slowly unbuttoning her shirt.
Tegan's face felt flushed suddenly and she blew her bangs out of her eyes.
