Author's Note: Hello! Okay, so this is a remake of the story Remus's Lunette by ElenaKat2.0 . I loved the storyline and decided to implement some of my ideas into the story. So whatever looks the same from here to there means it doesn't belong to me along with the Harry Potter universe *sniffles* Anyways...LET'S GET ON WITH THE STORY...
Warnings: Abuse, Language, Sexual Content (obviously not for a few chapters because she is 9!) So if any of this is not your cup of tea, I'm sorry that this was not everything that you hoped for.
Potter's Cottage, Godric's Hollow
Remus, Peter, and Sirius were chatting with James while playing with a baby Harry as Lily went upstairs to the nursery.
Just a few days ago, Lily and James's second child was born. They still haven't decided a name for their little bundle of joy even after a whole nine months and some days. The little girl was a surprise when Lily found out she was pregnant, but she was loved all the same.
Today, the other 3 marauders came to meet her because they weren't able to when they were on a mission for the Order. Imagine their surprise when in the middle of a mission, one of the Order members (under Dumbledore's orders) comes up to them saying that Lily was in labor.
Currently, they (by 'they', I mean Sirius) were trying to make Harry say 'Sirius', but that wasn't working.
"Si-ri-us." He said again for the millionth time. The other three were not even bothering to stifle their giggles and laughed at Sirius's expense.
"Padfoo!" Harry giggled along with the other 3, not knowing what he was laughing about.
"No, Harry. Say Sirius." He punctuated each syllable.
Harry just tilted his head in confusion. Sirius groaned, prompting the other 3 marauders to laugh uproariously.
James clapped him on the back. "Why do you even bother? He can't even say Padfoot correctly." He exploded into a fit of chuckles when Sirius turned to him with an annoyed expression.
Peter chuckled. "Yeah Pads, why can't you see that Harry's just a baby?" He teased. Sirius narrowed his eyes at the rat animagus.
"Come here, Peter." And with that, Peter squeaked as Sirius tackled him behind the couch. All you could hear were the choking sounds of Peter and the grunts of Sirius as Peter struggled.
James laughed again as Harry clapped his hands together and Remus just rolled his eyes, but you could see the grin spreading on his face.
At that moment, Lily came down the stairs with a soft smile donning her face, but it faltered when she saw the mess called the marauders.
"What did I say about horse playing around in my house? Act like adults for once, Merlin." She sighed exasperatedly.
Immediately, Sirius, Peter, and Remus (who was trying to break up the wrestling match) scrambled to stand upright. Once they did, they leveled their hands to their foreheads in a military manner. "Ma'am, yes ma'am." They saluted mischievously, but not loud enough to wake up the baby in Lily's arms.
James, who was carrying Harry, walked up to his wife to give her a bright smile and a chaste kiss on the lips. His hazel eyes that were occasionally filled with mischief drifted down to his daughter in Lily's arms. He gave her a kiss on the forehead, making her shift towards the warmth. Harry copied his dad's movements and gave his sister a slobbery kiss on the cheek. He giggled and his parents cooed at him. James gave a soft smile at the two siblings and looked back up to his beautiful wife who was beaming at him.
"She already looks like you." And it was very true. The little girl had a head full of red hair, and James was pretty sure that she was going to have his eyes, but he couldn't tell with her colorless ones. He said that she was going to be just like Harry, one parent's eyes, and one parent's everything else.
Her brother, Harry, had the opposite. He was a carbon copy of James (judging by the looks of James's baby photos), but he had his mother's enchantingly emerald green eyes.
Lily giggled. "I sure hope so, don't want her to have any masculine features." She said cheekily, making her husband poke her side in retaliation.
They look up from their mushy moment to gaze at the other three men, who smiled at them with bright mirth in their eyes. Lily held up the baby.
"Who wants to meet her first?"
Immediately, Sirius bounded from his place by the couches and came right up in their personal bubble, startling Lily, which in extension made the baby cry at the sudden movements. Harry was startled by the noise and tried to go to his sister, although he failed as he was in his father's arms.
"Now look what you've done, Lily." Sirius chided her. He ignored the roll of her eyes and took the baby from her arms into his, ignoring Harry's quite loud protests. He cooed at her to calm down her cries and Peter walked up to him as Remus went to James to grab Harry from him and started to play with him on the floor. The others looked at the sniffling baby that was starting to drift back off to sleep.
James wrapped an arm around Lily's waist and brought her back to his chest. He kissed her neck and along her jaw as Lily tilted her head to give him access.
"OI! Keep it rated K, there are children here! Remus, shield Harry!" Sirius made a big show and blocked the sleeping baby's view of her parents, Remus doing the same with Harry. Lily and James skipped the embarrassment to look at Sirius with weird expressions.
"K?" Remus echoed when he realized what Sirius said. They all looked at Sirius with confused expressions.
"Yeah. You know, K for Kids. Duh." He said like if it was the most obvious thing in the world. They all shook their heads and Remus facepalmed his forehead, making Harry giggle. Lily and James walked up to the animagus and smacked him on the back of his head before heading to the couches.
"OI! What was that for?" He whined. He rubbed the back of his head while everyone else headed over to the sitting area.
"Pads?" Remus said, picking Harry up from the floor.
"Yeah?"
"You're an idiot."
"Why thank you, Moony." Sirius put a hand to his chest as if it was a heartfelt compliment to which Remus rolled his eyes at.
Sirius sat down on one of the couches and passed the baby onto Peter, who carefully and nervously brought her to his body. He looked down and almost melted at the sight of the baby opening her eyes. She clenched and unclenched her fists and if trying to grab something. He hesitantly brought his chubby finger to her fist and immediately, she grabbed on to it and held on for her dear life. For a second, Peter almost felt guilty on what he was going to do in a few weeks. Almost.
He smiled and looked up at the beaming parents. "So have you guys decided on a name yet?" He asked to divert the attention from the emotional moment.
Lily shook her head. "We haven't, but we know for sure that we want her name to be special and meaningful." After a few minutes, Peter nervously brought the baby girl back to her mother. Lily looked up at Remus.
"Want to hold her?" She gestured to the sleeping baby.
Remus smiled and passed Harry to James. "Of course."
Lily walked over to him and bent down to give her to him, but at that moment when Remus looked into the baby's eyes, Moony suddenly woke up from his slumber and howled in his mind screaming "MATE!" over and over again. Moony paced frantically back and forth in Remus's mind, trying his best to break through the chains that Remus usually kept tightly on him.
Everyone in the room stood up and gasped when Remus's eyes kept on flashing amber, a sign that Moony wants to come out. Remus toppled off his seat and laid sprawled out on the floor. He immediately sat up and scooted away from Lily, who was holding the baby tightly to her chest.
Remus was horrified. I can't just imprint on Lily and James's daughter! She's only a baby! I'm old enough to be her father! In fact, I went to school with her fucking father! I can't do this to James. His daughter deserves the best, and that means that she can't be with a monster. He put his head in his hands.
Sirius came up to Remus hesitantly. "What's wrong Moony?" He said, concerned and worried for his friend and his reaction to James's daughter. Remus ignored him and grimaced at the thought of Sirius killing him along with James for even coming close to the little girl.
"I'm sorry." He said softly. They gave him confused looks.
"Remus, what on earth are you sorry for?" Lily asked, starting to get wary. Remus looked up with every intention to tell them and immediately get out before they killed him. But when he saw the genuine concerned looks on every one of their faces, he hesitated.
"I-I w-well..." He stuttered. How was he supposed to tell his best friend that his daughter was a werewolf's mate! Remus flinched at that thought. Sirius patted his back.
"It's okay Moony, you can tell us anything." He said softly, but unknown to Remus, Sirius was expecting a confession of being the spy, something that Remus wasn't. Remus grimaced again at the thoughts running through his head.
"Yeah." Peter agreed, forcing Remus out of his thoughts. Remus sighed and closed his eyes. Well, here goes the end of a friendship.
"Okay, so before you kill me, hear me out. I have absolutely no control over this and it just happened right now and I completely understand if you don't want to be friends with me anymore. To be frank, I wouldn't want to be friends with me either after this. This is wrong in so many ways and-" Remus got cut off.
"Remus! Your rambling." James spoke up. He gestured for Remus to continue. "Now what were you going to say?" James asked him, also nervous for the same reason as Sirius.
Remus's eyes darted to the doors in case he needed to make a quick exit, but then again, he deserved to be killed. He sighed and rubbed a hand on his face.
"Yourdaughterismymate." He mumbled. They all look to him in confusion.
"Remus speak up." Sirius said. Remus looked at them nervously and picked at the worn out hem of his coat.
"Er- your daughter is my mate..." He trailed off and winced, waiting for the consequences. To be frank, the others were expecting something different, except Peter. They all mentally sighed in relief but were happy at the new revelation.
Silence.
Then, all of a sudden, Lily giggled. Remus looked up in confusion so see James and Sirius smiling and Lily giggling. She passed the baby to James, who struggled to carry both babies at the same time, and ran up to Remus, giving him a crushing hug. Remus was shocked. He didn't expect for this to happen. He expected for James to yell at him while Lily gave him a disgusted look, but none of that happened.
"Is that what your worried about?" Lily said exasperatedly. Remus was too shocked to make a sentence, so he nodded slowly. Lily stepped away from him before swatting his chest. "You got me worried! I thought it was something bad!" She scolded him.
Remus shook his head to gather his thoughts. "What are you talking about?! This is bad! Your daughter is mated to a monster like me!" He shouted. Pain exploded from his arm and he turned to see who punched him when Sirius grab the front of his robes.
"How many times do we have to tell you to get it into your fucking head? You. Are. Not. A. Monster." Sirius shook him.
James sighed. "Moony, do we need to have the sock conversation again?" He raised a brow.
"Moony, we've known you for the longest time and we can all tell you that you are not even close to being a monster. You just have a furry little problem that occurs once or twice a month." Peter added and the rest of the them nodded in agreement.
Remus furrowed his brows. "You guys aren't mad?" He asked, surprised that they were so accepting.
"Of course we aren't mad! All I thought was that my daughter will always have someone to protect her and love her unconditionally. We trust you with all our hearts Remus, you would never hurt her or do anything bad to her, even in your wolf form." Lily then grabbed Remus and put him on the couch. James, who could finally stabilize himself as he handled both babies at the same time, walked up to them with a mission and carefully placed the baby girl in his arms, despite Remus's protests.
After he touched her, he fell silent and stared at the baby with flickering amber eyes. He didn't dwell on the fact that Lily and James were happy about this. He expected James to be protective of his baby girl and scold him at least. He looked up and made eye contact with James's hazel eyes with his own light green ones.
"Lily's right Remus. You would never harm her let alone intentionally put her in danger, and besides," James clapped Sirius on the shoulder, making the dog animagus smirk, "now, we don't have to worry about boys breaking her heart or chasing away potential suitors because she will have you in the end and I couldn't choose a better man than you for my daughter to end up with. I have no doubt in my mind that you will always love and cherish her for as long as you live." James put a gentle hand on the werewolf's shoulder.
Sirius snorted. "Don't count on it James, we would still be chasing away suitors from her no matter what."
James nodded in agreement. "True, considering that she will end up as beautiful as my wife, we will have to. Now-" He got cut off.
"Oi! Hold it right there! If I remember correctly, you said that you couldn't choose a better man than him! What about me?!" He pointed dramatically to himself.
James snorted. "Yeah, no way mate. You were quite the ladies' man back in Hogwarts. Even Lily would agree with me on this decision." Sirius turned to face Lily, who nodded while trying to stifle a smile. He pouted and crossed his arms like a child.
"Yes Pads, I am obviously the better choice here. Deal with it." Remus smirked. Sirius stuck out his tongue like a child, ignoring the scoff that escaped Remus's lips.
"Is everyone ganging up on me here?!" Sirius exclaimed dramatically.
"Don't worry Pads, I've got your back." Peter said walking up to them.
Sirius draped an arm around Peter's shoulders. "Thank you Wormy. It seems like you're the only one who does." Remus rolled his eyes.
During all this, James and Lily were having a private conversation, pretending to add Harry's opinion, but obviously he couldn't understand what his mum and dad were saying. The two parents walked up to Remus, Peter, and Sirius (ever the drama queen) arguing about who knows what.
"Remus." James started off, effectively stopping the argument. Remus turned to face the couple with the baby still in his arms. "Me and my insanely gorgeous wife (Lily gave him a look) have decided on a name for our equally beautiful daughter." He paused for dramatic effect.
"Well?" Sirius said impatiently after what seemed like 10 seconds.
Lily swatted James's arm." Oh stop being dramatic. Remus," She turned to him, "to prove that we are very happy with this situation and that we fully accept that she is your mate, we've named her Selene. After the-" She got cut off.
"Goddess of the moon." Remus breathed out with a small smile, still looking at the bundle of joy in his arms. His smile faltered as he looked up warily at the parents. "Are you guys sure about this? This is your guys' last chance to back out." Remus's expression turned serious. James placed Harry on one hip and leaned over to smack him on the back of the head, prompting Harry to laugh. James winked at his son. Remus grumbled and rubbed the sore spot.
"Selene Lily Potter. That's her full name." Lily breathed out, ignoring Remus. James beamed and pecked her cheek.
"Selene Lily Potter." He echoed.
Remus was grateful that all his friends have accepted this and haven't gave him any looks of disgust. James and Lily have even got out of their way just to name their child after him (in a way). He couldn't ask for better friends.
Sirius broke the silence by complaining about the fact that Remus was going to be Selene's favorite when she was older.
"Oh shut up. You already have a godson that you can spoil, do you not?" Remus asked rhetorically. Before Sirius could reply, Lily spoke up while facepalming.
"Godfather! How could I forget! Remus, since you can't be her godfather for obvious reasons..."
"Why not? They can be a little kinky." Sirius winked and smirked at Remus's disgusted face. James turned to his best mate and narrowed his eyes dangerously.
"This is my daughter you are talking about." His voice was dangerously low. "Timeout!" He pointed to the couch.
Sirius immediately complained. "Are you joking mate? I just had a timeout 10 minutes ago!" James merely just flicked his wand and Sirius went silent. Sirius hung his head and plopped himself onto the couch, pouting. He was muttering, but no sound came out of his mouth.
Lily sighed. "Anyways, where were we- oh yes!" James and Lily turned to Peter with blinding smiles.
"Peter, do you accept the challenge of becoming this lovely girl's godfather?" James asked dramatically, bouncing in barely contained excitement. In extension, Harry was gurgling as he was being bounced, making funny sounds to entertain himself.
(A/N: Has your parents push the cart into the parking lot when you were in the cart? I always made a sound because the ride was bumpy, making my voice vibrate. Was it just me?)
Lily chuckled. "Here, give me Harry so you won't make him puke." She reached over and grabbed her son from his father's arms. The two parents were too busy to see the full blown guilty look that was consuming Peter's face. The guilt was eating him up on the inside, but there was nothing to do as Lily and James would be devastated and confused as to why he would decline the role. So the only thing to do was...
"I accept." Peter smiled. The parents stopped what they were doing and looked up at the animagus with giddy expressions.
James wrapped an arm around his shoulder. "I knew you could do it Wormtail. You are a Gryffindor, are you not?" James asked.
Peter gulped, which went unnoticed, and nodded. "I sure am."
During this emotional moment, Remus was paying half attention as the other half was on the red-headed baby in his arms. Selene unconsciously reached out with her chubby little hand and grasped Remus's finger. At the first touch, Remus felt a shockwave course through his body, making his toes curl. His hand moved to her face and he trailed a finger from her temple down to her chin lovingly. Selene leaned into the warmth of her mate's hand.
"Mine." Moony whispered softly, breaking through for a moment.
At that very moment, Remus swore on his magic that under his watchful gaze shall any danger fall upon her, he shall eradicate the threat. Moony howled in agreement.
Nobody in the cottage except one knew the dangers that would befall the Potters.
To be continued... ;)
Review!
Author's Note: This is just the Prologue, so the story will happen next chapter and the next chapters will be a lot longer than this. I will go by the books, so whatever happens in the movies that doesn't happen in the books won't appear. Tell me what you think.
And don't forget to check out my original story "My Boy Band Soulmate" which is a crossover between Harry Potter and Big Time Rush. Read if you'd like and if you don't want to, it doesn't matter.
