" Welcome to the Student Council. Miyuki" Mayumi said leading Miyuki inside the office where the student council members are doing their duty.
" Thank you Seagusa-san," Miyuki said respectfully.
" You can call me Mayumi. From now on, we will be working together. Here. Let me introduce you to the other members." Mayumi said leading Miyuki to the other members of the Student Council.
" This is Nakajou Azusa but you can call her A-chan. She is the secretary of the student council." Mayumi introduces the petite girl with a childish face.
" Mou. Kaicho... Don't call me A-chan. The student might be mistaken that I'm younger than them" A-chan pout at Mayumi who only smile and introduce Miyuki to the next member
" And this is Ichihara Suzune. She is the treasurer. You can call her Rin-chan" Mayumi enthusiastically introduced to the tall girl with a solemn face while she is typing on her keyboard.
" Kaicho. You're the only one calling me that" She said bluntly to Mayumi who only wave her hand and smile at her.
" And this is our vice-president of the student council" Mayumi points to the guy who steps forward and offers his hand at Miyuki.
" I'm Hattori Hanzou. Welcome to the Student Council. Shiba-san." Miyuki smile and accepted the offered hand.
" Thank you for having me here," Miyuki said smiling politely at them.
" Hhmm. Hattori. Where is Mari? I still have to introduce her to Miyuki. " Mayumi asks looking around for Mari.
The door opened and a woman with black short hair followed by a tall man with green eyes and black hair enter the room. What stands out is his uniform lack of petals means he is a 'weed' student.
" Ah. Perfect timing Mari. You're here. I was looking for you" Mayumi said dragging Miyuki in front of Mari not even seeing the shocked face of Miyuki who is staring at the man behind Mari.
" Huh? Do you need something for me? Mayumi" Mari asks tilting her head.
" I'm just introducing Miyuki to the members of the student council since she will be working with us starting today," Mayumi said.
" Oh. That's right. First Year representative." Mari said in realization. She turns to Miyuki and offers her hand.
" I'm Watanabe Mari. I'm the Chief of the Public Morals Committee. Welcome to the Student Council." Mari introduces herself snapping Miyuki from her thought and blush realizing she spaces out. She bows and thank Mari. She then turns to the man standing behind Mari.
" Um... I'm Miyuki Shiba. First Year representative. It is nice to meet you" Miyuki greeted the man that looks like her grandpa. And learn yesterday that it's her Aunt's son.
" Tatsuya Ooguro. It is nice to meet you Shiba-san" Tatsuya bow respectfully.
" You can call me Miyuki. Is it okay if I call you Tatsuya?" She asks feeling embarrassed about meeting him for the first time. She has to inform her Aunt of this development.
" Then. Miyuki it is" Tatsuya said in affirmation.
" Mari. What is he doing here?" Hattori asks seething in anger seeing Tatsuya. He remembers him talking to Mayumi yesterday and it irritated him that a mere weed dares to talk casually to Mayumi.
" I invited him He will be the new member of the Public Morals Committee," Mari said bluntly.
" I refused to have him join. He will be in a way. What can a mere weed do in subduing crimes in our school?" Hattori rudely asks.
" Tatsuya can read magic sequence which can be useful in identifying if the user is using harmful magic to fellow students. And he knows how to deal with violence" Mari said remembering how Tatsuya deal with the Bloom students that tried to intimidate him and his friends.
" That must be a fraud. There's no way he can do that. He doesn't even do great in magical skills." Hattori argued.
" He may have done poorly at magical practical skills but that doesn't mean he can't do the job. I'm sure he has skills with him" Miyuki defended Tatsuya remembering the skills her uncle showed yesterday in the video they watch. She won't take kindly to someone who insults her family. Ever since she learn some part of the truth regarding her uncle. She saw him in a new light that skills don't compare with how well you do in magic practical skills.
" You are too kind Miyuki-san. But I'm sure that no matter what skills his parents taught to him. It's nothing to compare when he faces an opponent with magical power." Hattori said grinning as he explains things to Miyuki who clenches her fist at the insult he said to her Aunt and Uncle. Before she can say anything. Tatsuya step forward.
" Vice-President. Hattori Hanzou. I challenge you to duel." Tatsuya stated shocking those around him. Miyuki's eyes widen at his proclamation.
" You dare to challenge me. You think you can defeat me?" Hattori said gritting his teeth.
" I don't care about the status of magical power. It means nothing to me. But, by the time you insult my family is the thing I cannot ignore." Tatsuya said, his voice sounds deadly that sent shivers to the people around the room.
' It's the same tone Uncle used when he killed those kidnappers' Miyuki thought observing that her cousin act like his father.
Time skip
They all stare dumbfounded and slack jaw at what they witness as Tatsuya is now standing behind Hattori his gun raised and an unconscious Hattori lying down the floor. The match didn't even last a minute before it ended.
" If magical practical skills are what makes a magician then a lot of people will be dead. Consider it as a lesson to never underestimate your opponent whatever their social status. It will only lead to your death." Tatsuya said bluntly putting his gun down. He looks at Mari who is staring at them in shock.
" T-The winner is Tatsuya Ooguro." Mari announced snapping from her thoughts.
" Did you cast an acceleration before the match starts?" Mari asks Tatsuya who shook his head.
" No. That's just speed I used when sparring" Tatsuya answered.
" When did you learn that kind of move? It's like you teleported to another place." Mayumi said in awe.
" That is thought by my Otou-san... Since I do poorly in magical skills. My father thought me skills that will be more useful in real battles. Though I'm still no match for his skills" Tatsuya stated.
" Your father must be a very skillful person... Though do you have to knock him unconscious?" Mari asks looking at Hattori who is now waking up from his sleep.
" I think it's at least what I can do to him when he insulted my family. What my otou-san thought me is not an easy technique and hearing someone insult my otou-san is something I cannot forgive." Tatsuya said looking at Hattori who regains his consciousness and approaching Tatsuya.
" We were thought from the start that to become a great magician is having a great magical practical skill. But to experience an utter defeat from someone who is doing poorly in magical skills makes my view in this world shatter..." Hattori said, somehow no hostility in his voice.
" Magical practical skills don't measure anyone's ability. It stills depends on a person how they improve themselves. There is someone out there that is more powerful than the magical skills your bragging about." Tatsuya said turning around.
" ...I'm sorry for insulting your parents. It is immature of me to insult your family." Hattori admitted bowing his head. They look in shock seeing Hattori bow. Tatsuya turns his head seeing the look of regret in Hattori.
" As long as you understand to never insult my family again then I forgive you. I hope this time, you won't make a quick judgment regarding someone's ability because of their status." Tatsuya said before walking toward his briefcase and putting his gun down.
" Wait. Is that Silver Horn designed by Taurus Silver?" A-chan asks appearing behind Tatsuya. She has a look of awe seeing the gun designed by her idol.
" Silver Horn?" Rin asked looking at A-chan.
" It's a C.A.D. made by Taurus Silver. It's created by the company Alvarez Tech, the number 1 technology company in the whole world." A-chan stated trying to touch the Silver horn but Tatsuya keep it out of her reach
While they watch A-chan try to touch the gun. They didn't notice Miyuki who is observing the fight from the start. She still in shock seeing her cousin defeated Hattori easily. And the moves he makes are similar to her uncle but she caught a glimpse of his after image when he moves behind Hattori.
' Tatsuya-san is amazing' Miyuki thought amazed by her cousin's skills shown. She is sure that her Aunt Maya will be ecstatic when she heard what happened today.
' I wonder what will happen if the clan didn't banish them. Will we be closer together?' Miyuki thought. Miyuki approach Tatsuya who manages to stop A-chan.
" Congratulations on your win Tatsuya-san," Miyuki said happily.
" Thank you Miyuki-san..." Tatsuya smile.
Tatsuya POV
I steal a glance at Miyuki before I left the training room to meet my family members. I remember from my Aunt that she is Aunt Miya's daughter, who is my mother's twin sister which makes the two of us cousin. From the looks she is giving me, I think she recognizes me. I don't blame her since according to my father, I look like Ojii-san when he is the same age as me.
Though I understand why my grandfather exiled me and my father doesn't mean that the pain is not there. I remember how happy we were when we still together with my other. And I know my mother keeps looking for us secretly ever since she becomes the head of the Yotsuba clan. I know it must be frustrating for my mother not to find any clue about us with all the connections she has around the world.
' I wonder what my mother next move after she learns that I study here in First High?'
I know what happens today will reach my mother. But too bad, they have to wait until the end of the weekends. I walk out of the room and close the door when I saw the figure of red hair woman leaning against the wall.
" Congratulations on winning. You show them to never insult our family." She said smiling at me.
" Thank you. Where are the others?"
" They are waiting outside the school. We are wondering what took you so long so I went after you and find you fighting against the vice president of the student council."
" They insulted Otou-san and Okaa-san which is unforgivable to me."
" Make sense. I think it's in our genes to be protective of our family. Though, why didn't you talk longer to your cousin? I think she already recognizes you."
" Because my mother's clan thought that my memories with them are wiped out so I can't just talk to her casually or they will notice. Though I don't have any objection if she wants to know me better." I answered.
" You know that your mother will hear what happen today and will learn about your whereabouts. Are you ready to see her? I know how much you miss her" I smile sadly remembering the dangers if our connection is revealed.
" When the time comes but that decision still depends on my mother if she is ready to fight for us. After all, I and my father are just waiting for her."
" That's true," She said before walking beside him.
" Let's go home. Our cousins are waiting for us outside."
Next Day
Tense can be felt inside the room as the visitors came in by the order of Yotsuba Maya, the current Clan Head of the Yotsuba Family. She first appoints a meeting to her father's generation since it's under her uncle Eisaku's term when her husband and son are exiled. She tried to find them secretly when she takes over the clan but it all ends up in frustration since the two of them seem like vanish on Earth. No clues of their whereabouts.
After finding out from Miyuki that she met a man named Tatsuya that looks like her father Genzou. Maya knew that it's her son who was exiled. She starts to form a plan to invite Tatsuya so she can meet her son once again.
' Since I found my son again. It's time to announce their return to Yotsuba Clan.' Maya thought. She knows convincing the current heads of their Branch family will be hard. But she already has a plan.
When Maya saw the last one enter her office. Her sister Miya who is now sitting beside her nod in support.
In front of her are the former branch head of each houses. 1st Yotsuba Clan head, Yotsuba Genzou, her father. Kuroba Juuzo and his wife Yotsuba Yume who is her father's sister. Yotsuba Motosuke is her father's brother. And Tsukuba Ayaka who is a former branch head and wife of Yuuki Fuyuhiko.
" Why did you call us here? Maya" Genzou asks his daughter after receiving an invitation from his daughter about an important meeting.
" I called you here because I want your support to bring my husband and son back to the Yotsuba Clan," Maya announced shocking the visitors in the room.
" I thought that Natsu and Tatsuya still missing until now," Genzou said remembering how frustrated Maya in finding her husband and her son. He can't help her finding them since they move out of the apartment he bought for them after 1 year of their exile. Even Genzou is searching for them came to a dead end.
" That's what I also thought but I heard from Miyuki that she met a man named Tatsuya and is spitting image of my father. It's been 15 years since I saw my son and I want to bring them back in the clan." Maya said with conviction in her voice.
" We know you desire to be with your family again. But, is it wise to bring them back? The current head of the houses will be against it." Juuzo asks.
" And the other houses will surely look down on them again. Tatsuya power is cannot be even consider magic and is dangerous." Ayaka added.
" Unless we train Tatsuya like brother Eisaku suggestion before," Motosuke added
" We can bring back Tatsuya into this family but not your husband. I am sure you can find someone more suitable for you compare to your former husband" Juuzo said. They felt a sudden pressure around the room seeing Maya glared at them.
" Never insult my husband indirectly in front of me again. And my son will never be a weapon that Uncle Eisaku suggests. You watch the words you spouting. Or I will never be merciful." Maya said coldly glaring at her family members who all keep their mouths shut seeing the rage in her eyes. She then turns to her father.
" What's your opinion about this? father" Maya asks observing his father.
"From the start, I only want your happiness, Maya. Though the decision of your husband and son exiled can be partly blamed on me. I don't regret doing it to protect our family. It's the only thing I know to save Tatsuya in his fate." Genzou said sadly remembering a specific incident in his life.
" Only thing? You and others agreed to exiled my husband and son because of their lack of magical skills. And the fact that they call my husband nasty names behind my back. You could have said something to change the clan's view toward my husband. After all, he is the one who saves me from the cruel fate. Isn't it right? Father" Maya said. She remembers the time when she tries to change the view of her clan towards her husband when he is introduced to the family. The only ones who supported their relationship are her sister and father. Maya tried to make them understand that even without great magical skills, there still great quality for her husband but they view her love and devotion as foolish acts. It pains her to see her husband and son mock behind her back, so they stay away from the main household so they can live a happy life.
Genzou froze hearing his daughter's words. He looks at her seeing that she knew of his secret. He wants to make an excuse but the look on her face told him she already knows the truth.
' But how did she know? I'm the only one who knows the truth.' Genzou thought looking at his siblings and their partner seeing their confused look on their face at his daughter's statement.
" When did you find out?" He asks resigned that he have to tell them the truth. No use in hiding anymore.
" Yesterday. Miyuki found something in the mail that is suspicious. And when we look at it. It's a video template of the Yotsuba's secret." Maya stated shocking those people around her.
" Yotsuba's secret? What is the meaning of this? Someone discovers the secret of our family?" Juuzo asks looking at them.
" Do not worry. This is not a secret that you're trying to imply. It's secret that until now, my dear father has hidden from all of us." Maya said looking at her father.
" Is that device safe? What if it's one of the enemies' plots against us?" Yume asks her niece.
" We already check the device. It's not linked and we already put a safety precaution in this device. It's a normal flash drive but with a special condition." Miya answered.
" Special condition?" Ayaka asks in confusion.
" Every video clip can be played on a specific date or number of people. We can only play one episode yesterday so we decide to try our luck today." Maya answered.
" We decide to put the setting of the video into autoplay so that we don't have to choose what episode we can watch" Miya added.
" If you say that it's safe then we can play some of the videos. I want to know what kind of secret your talking about" Motosuke said.
" You said something about your former husband saving you from your cruel fate. Is this the video connected to it?" Juuzo asks
" More likely," Maya answered. She motioned for Hayama to play the video that will be playing today. Hayama presses the autoplay as the screen start to play a video.
Chapter 2: Genzou Yotsuba's Secret (Part 2)
The former clan head turns to Genzou asking for an explanation who can only sigh reading the title of the video.
" I think the video will show that secret I'm hiding. It's better this way to see in your own eyes" Genzou said as they nod in agreement.
' I'm Sorry Natsu-sama. Looks like someone leaked the secrets I've been hiding for a long time. I wonder who sent this video?' Genzou thought feeling suspicious why the video shows their hidden secret that they never share in the family.
A man can be seen exiting the driver seat of a car that parks in front of a traditional Japanese house in the beautiful landscape. He looks at his surroundings finding a clean landscape in the area. He remembers buying this great land and building a Japanese traditional house as a gift for someone who saves his daughter's life. This land and house are not enough payment for what he did in saving his daughter from the worst fate.
Maya remembers that place very well. It's the house they've been living in when she and her husband are still married. That place is so memorable to her that it's her vacation house whenever she is free from work.
" This must be the man that you're talking about Genzou-sama" Juuzo said remembering the announcement of Genzou that someone saves his daughter, his contact allied that is going to investigate his daughter's kidnapping and rescue her.
" I remember brother keeping his identity from us," Motosuke added.
" I wonder what he looks like," Ayaka said wanting to know who save Maya from her kidnappers.
Flashback
He remembers the day he meets him. He is in his room, feeling frustrated after hearing his daughter kidnapping, they didn't have any idea who takes his daughter away, and his frustration regarding the Seagusa family who are not even helping in finding his daughter since they are more worried about their son Kouichi who loses his right eye trying to save his daughter.
" That damn coward. Remembering him made my blood boil." Genzo muttered angrily.
" Calm down Brother. He is just a child back then. Surely he still a better candidate for Maya back then." Motosuke said receiving a glare from Genzou, Maya, and Miya.
" Don't ever say something ridiculous like that ever again," Maya said coldly.
" He is even the reason why my sister has to go to cultural exchange. If he didn't even pressure Maya to come with him then it will not happen." Miya said glaring at her uncle.
" That is true. Though he's a better candidate than Natsu." Yume commented making Maya smirk at her.
" That man is a pale comparison to my Natsu. I'm sure my Natsu will show no mercy if he ever faces that man" Maya said smirking at her Aunt who just stares at Maya like she is joking.
He is trying to form a plan when someone suddenly appears behind him holding something in his arms. How he manages to find and bypass the barrier and security from their home is somehow terrifying.
The visitor except Genzou stares in shock at the discovery. Someone manages to bypass the barrier and security of the manor and manage to enter Genzou's room without the others noticing.
' How did he do that?!' Is what everyone thought. Maya smirk observing their shocked expression. She can't wait to see their reaction if they learn who's the man behind that cloak.
" Who are you? And how did you get in here?" Genzou demanded getting on guard.
" I just follow her scent. And for who I am. I do not know." The man shortly replied.
' Follow her scent?' They thought bewildered watching the scene.
" Did you find out how he follows Maya's scent in the manor?" Motosuke asks.
" I never really find out. All I got for him is that he follows Maya's scent that lingers in the manor. There's no detailed explanation of how he can do that" Genzou answered.
" *Cough* Maybe we will get the answer from the video" Maya stated calmly but her sister can see blush forming in her cheeks that she's trying to cover up.
' Is he serious?' Genzou thought looking at the man in front of him. Genzou tries to see the man's face but he is wearing a cloak so he can't identify the man.
" Are you perhaps Yotsuba Genzou?" Genzou tense at the question.
" I am. What is it you need from me?" Genzou asks. He can't feel the hostility from the man but he keeps his guard up since the man appears to be dangerous.
" Then. This must be yours." The man said gently putting the girl down in the bed. The robes that covering her face are removed and saw his daughter's face.
" Maya!" Genzou shouts in shock approaching his daughter figure. He hugs his daughter's body closer to him and found out that she is unconscious. He froze when he observed the state of his daughter. Aside from her robe, she is naked, his eyes narrow, and grits his teeth. He glared at the man who didn't even flinch.
" Did you do this to her?" He asks glaring at the man angrily. The man looks at him like he is stupid.
" Really? Otou-sama" Maya deadpanned to her father who slightly blushes in embarrassment under her gaze.
" I am worried for you at that time." Genzou excused trying to justify his action towards Natsu.
" I'm not a pedophile" He deadpanned.
Maya's brow twitches in annoyance hearing his answer. She remembers that word clearly in her past. And the tone of his voice shows how he is not interested in her at that time.
Genzou smirk teasingly at Maya who glares at him knowing what her father is thinking.
Miya facepalm at her brother-in-law's blunt answer and she can see her sister's annoyed expression.
The former clan head members just stare at the scene in a deadpanned look with the man's blunt answer.
' Impressive. He is not affected by Genzou's glare' Juuzo thought knowing how scary Genzou is when he is angry.
" Then. How come her state is like this?" Genzou asks still feeling angry.
" I woke up in a facility when I heard her voice crying for help. I follow her voice and found her surrounded by men and strapped in the table naked. So I did what the best in the situation. I killed them and extract information about her and her residence address. Though the address points me away from here. I manage to find this house after following the scent. I heard you talking to yourself saying her name so I went here"
Genzou felt a lot of things at the man's statement. The horror he felt when the man implied that his daughter was almost raped by those men, it means there's a lot of them are trying to rape his daughter. Anger for the one who is responsible for his daughter's situation and awe and amazement at the man in front of him who saves his daughter and how he manages to bring her back home safely.
They all stare wide eyes and look at Maya in sympathy knowing she experiences a traumatic event at the hands of the Dahan. That's why they massacre Dahan as revenge for touching the member of their clan.
Maya ignores the looks of sympathy that the former head of houses giving to her. She already moved on and have her revenge against the Dahan. Her priority is protecting her family to prevent them from experiencing what she's been through.
' And to fix my family again' Maya thought.
" How did you manage to bypass the security?" Genzou asks knowing the security in the manor is tight.
" I just walk." He bluntly stated. Genzou face faulted at his blunt answer.
They almost face fault if they have not supported themselves on the chair they are sitting on.
" Is he serious?! Don't tell me he just walk while the guards in the manor didn't detect him!?" Motosuke said incredulously.
" That's what I also thought when I first met him but he is not joking," Genzou said sighing at Natsu's answer.
" Like hell, I would believe that!!!" Genzou shouts with disbelief on his face.
" Ssshhh... Your daughter is sleeping." He said shushing him that shut him up.
" Look. I am grateful you brought my daughter back safe. But how can I know what your saying is true? You won't even tell me your name." Genzou said. He is glad that his daughter is safe but this man's statement is almost unbelievable and what he is wearing right now is suspicious.
" It may be hard to believe but you can check my memories. And It's not like I didn't give you my name. I just can't remember my name...And my past." He said to Genzou who gape in shock. He composed himself and look at the man in front of him.
" So he has a severe case of amnesia?" Yume asks her brother who shakes his head.
" No. You may consider it amnesia but it is not." Genzou answered.
" Then. What is it?" Yume asks Genzou who just sighs.
" Just keep watching and you will know the answer" Genzou stated.
" If you permit me to check your memories." He offered as the man shrug, not worried about what Genzou will discover in his memories. He let Genzou approach him. Genzou activates his C.A.D. and looks into his memory. He watches from his point of view as he wakes up in a facility to the time he saves his daughter until he arrives at his house. He tried to search way back more and found himself blocked by something he didn't encounter before.
They watch in awe especially the visitors of how the man manages to kill the guards and researchers in the Dahan. That guy can be considered a strategic-type mage with how efficient he killed them with a blink of an eye
" This is... I've never seen this kind of magic before. What kind of magic is he using?" Juuzo asks Genzou who encounter the man for a long time
" That is still a mystery until today. And because of his condition, he also cannot give me an answer. I don't know if it's magic or just his normal speed" Genzou said shocking those around him.
" But he has no magic sequences that show he is using magic." Ayaka pointed out.
" I think if this guy is our ally. He is suitable to marry our Clan head Maya. Why didn't you arrange their marriage?" Yume stated.
" And why is that? He has no magic skills. Why would he better partner compared to my husband?" Maya asks, her smile is not a happy one but a scary one as she looks at her Aunt waiting for her answer.
" Because of his skills. Your child can inherit your magic skills. And that guy skills in combat can be taught to your future children. That man knows combat, and he is the one who saves you from your kidnappers." Yume answers.
" She has a point. The difference between him and your husband is their combat skills. Your husband is too kind to protect our family against our enemy while that man did not hesitate to kill those men." Juuzo pointed out admiring the man's skills.
' Did our clan become this arrogant after so many years?' Miya thought wanting to smack their head with their narrow-minded view.
' Just you wait. I will show you how all of you are ignorant and arrogant fools' Maya thought, calming her emotions in dealing with her Aunts and Uncles.
' Is this what Natsu-sama talking about?' Genzou thought remembering his talk with Natsu when he asks help for revenge against Dahan.
' His memories are sealed.' Genzou thought in shock. He tried to unlock his memories but he can only found himself push back. He stumbles into his back at the force. He watched in stunned silence as the man kneeling on the ground at the sudden impact, the result of trying to unlock the seal in his mind.
" Sealed? What do you mean by that? Father." Maya asks
" Someone intentionally sealed his memories inside of him. I remember not being able to destroy the seal since it doesn't have a trace of eidos. Though I manage to leave a scratch on the surface, it still not enough to have his memories back" Genzou explained to his daughter.
" Why would someone seal his memories?" Ayaka asks looking at Genzou.
" I think his magic is tied to his memories. That also may be the reason why we still don't know how he can move so fast. He may be subconsciously using his magic." Maya suggested.
" You may be right. That may be also the reason why it felt natural for him. His memories might be sealed but his body still remembers how to use it" Miya added.
" That makes sense since he even can't explain how he can move so fast" Genzou answered remembering Natsu telling him he just moves normally like he used to.
Genzou watch in stunned silence at the man in front of him. The man in front of him killed all of the people in the facility without breaking a sweat. And what more shocking is that his mind didn't show the extent of his ability in his memories. It's like his mind has a defense mechanism when it comes to his power. All he can see is him disappear and reappear in one place to another.Genzou looks at the savior of his daughter. He kneels on the ground feeling grateful that even with his memories sealed, he still didn't hesitate to save his daughter.
They all look in shock looking at the former head of the Yotsuba clan bowing in front of an unknown man. Genzou just shrugs nonchalantly. He admires the man that saves his daughter and bowing in front of him is showing his gratitude and respect for the man who saves his daughter.
Maya smiles softly hearing that he still didn't even hesitate to save her even though he still has no recollection of his past.
'He can escape and leave me there but he chooses to save me and bring me back home. He is is a kind person from the start.' Maya thought in admiration and love she has for her husband.
" Thank you for saving my daughter's life. Even if you have amnesia, you still choose to save my daughter. I don't know what to do if those men manage to go through their plan. I and my family are in your debt. How can I address you, sir?" Genzou asks kneeling in front of him. The man manage to compose himself and ran his hand through his hair, removing his hood showing his salmon hair. His green eyes staring intently at him and a small smile appear on his face
The visitors all stare in shock at what they witness in front of them. The figure that all of them are familiar with. The same man they all mock and insulted behind Maya's back. The man they deemed useless and disgrace in the family.
Maya smirk enjoying their reactions while she secretly takes a video of their reaction when they watch the video on the screen.
" So? What is it you're saying again? He is better than my husband?" Miya mockingly asks seeing their speechless and shocked expression on their face.
" E-Eh? EEEHHH???!!!" Yume muttered then yelled in shock. Yume cannot believe what she witnesses. She just compares the same person. She is in shock and confused why the useless husband of Maya is shown to be skillful in combat and killed the guards and researchers easily.
" I-Is this for real!?" Motosuke asks incredulously. If what they witness is true. Does that mean they exiled someone who just helps their family!?
" This man..." Juuzo muttered speechless at what he saw on the screen. It's no denying. It's Maya's husband who they deemed useless and disgraceful is actually a skillful person.
"..." Ayaka can stare wide eyes at the revelation. They all know that Maya marries this man because she loves him deeply. They thought that the man is useless and the thing Maya like about him is his looks and his kindness which is not a prospective partner fit for a Yotsuba. But seeing him mercilessly killing the guards and researchers almost destroy what they thought of him.
Miya sigh but has a smile on her face seeing their shocked expression. She looks at her sister who is secretly recording their reaction.
"You enjoying this. Aren't you?" Miya whisper to her sister who smiles in confirmation.
" It's part of the payback for what they all did to my family" Maya whispers.
Genzou sigh knowing the secret is already out. He just hopes his son-in-law finds out who send this hard drive to them and revealed the secrets he's been hiding for a long time.
" Did you already know about this when you married him?" Ayaka asks looking at Maya
" I only learn about the identity of my savior yesterday. I am also in shock when I learn the truth. But maybe it's destiny that I married the man who saves me without me knowing" Maya answered as she motioned Hayama to continue the video.
"You're trying to remove the seal in my memories. And somehow, you crack the surface... I manage to remember my name, you can call me Natsu." He said softly, the tone of his voice is different from the voice he used when he talks to Genzou.
" I am glad that I manage to help you even a little bit, Natsu-sama. Is there anything I can do to you?"
" First. Stop kneeling in front of me. Second. I want knowledge about this world. And third. I need you to keep my identity and ability a secret. And fourth, Do you know a place where I can stay?"
Flashback End
" So that's the reason why you keep it a secret. You two have an agreement." Maya said looking at her father who had a resigned look on his face and nod at her.
" Why would he have to hide his identity? If he could have introduced himself earlier then, we could have accepted him easily" Motosuke said to his brother who only shake his head in disappointment.
" Because of how your acting is the reason. Natsu-sama knows the consequences if anyone knew of his identity and he will be at a disadvantage since his memories are sealed. He didn't want anyone to take advantage of his skills while he can't even remember anything" Genzou explained.
" Your right Otou-sama. I may be hurt that he hide it from me but I understand his reasoning." Maya said contemplating what happened in the video. If Natsu's power is introduced early in the clan, then he will be just used as a weapon like they plan to use her son.
Knock
Knock
The door opened seeing showing a young man in his late 20's standing in front of Genzou wearing red yukata. Genzou smiles and greets Natsu as he let him in.
" It's been a while Genzou. How have you been?" Natsu asks serving a cup of tea for both of them.
" I've been busy in the manor ever since Maya safely returned to the household. The information you extract in the Dahan Research Facility is valuable for us to identify the one who is responsible for my daughter's kidnapping." Genzou said drinking his cup of tea.
" That's good to hear. How about Maya? How is her condition? The experience must be traumatizing for her" Natsu said sipping his tea. Genzou's expression turns into pain mentioning his daughter.
" Maya became a different person. She still our Maya but the experience leave a wound in her mind. The doctor told us Maya's condition is called Androphobia, afraid of men touching her even I can't hug and comfort my daughter. I don't know what to do to help her." Genzou said in a pained expression
" What happened to Maya is a tragedy. Recovery is a long process. Let her recover in her phase" Natsu stated.
"I and our clan members discuss to have her sister Miya separate Maya's memories from her emotions so it will not affect her mental state. It will be difficult but it's the only way I know to help my daughter." Genzou said to Natsu who stop sipping in his tea and glance at Genzou. Natsu put his cup down and stare at him seriously.
" I remember that incident. You considered it before then the next day, you suddenly change your mind and stop the operation to separate Maya's memories from her emotions." Juuzo said recalling their meeting wondering why Genzou suddenly changes his mind.
" That is surprising. You've been meeting with my husband asking for advice. I always thought before that you've been keeping him company since he is alone when you find him. Now I see that you're asking my husband for advice." Maya said shock and realization struck in her mind.
" I think we both know how great Natsu is when giving advice. It's like talking to an old wise man instead of a man in his 20's." Genzou said laughing as he remembers some memories he encounters with Natsu.
" Your right Otou-san...He always lectures me before and I start to tease him old man." Maya giggles remembering those memories she has with her husband.
" Are you trying to kill your daughter? And by the hands of her sister? Tell me your joking about this." Natsu said. Genzou gulp at the pressure he's feeling.
" K-Killing? I won't do that to my daughter! The operation is safe and it's the only way I know to help Maya." Genzou protest. He knows what he's doing is immoral but he can't bear to see his daughter suffering.
"You're not helping her. What your trying to do is worsening the situation of your daughter. Memories and emotion are connected. If you separate both of them, it will make a person imbalanced thus creating a new personality. I think you know what will happen if a person acts through their logic. It will be a disaster. And the fact you will let her sister do the job will strain their relationship. Are you prepared to bear the consequences that you will kill your own daughter and creating a monster?" Natsu said making Genzou froze realizing the truth behind his words. He grits his teeth letting tears flow in his eyes.
" I'm glad you listen to him Otou-sama. I don't know what will happen to me if you proceed with your plan. But Natsu has a point." Maya pointed out to her father who sighs.
" I know. I acted based on my emotion at that time. I'm glad he manages to stop me before we can proceed to the plan." Genzou said in agreement.
" I remember you asking me before to separate my sister's memories and emotions. I was conflicted since I don't know how it will affect her." Miya added.
" I'm sorry for giving you that hard task. But you refuse to use Mental interference to your sister. You sound adamant about that" Genzou wonder looking into his daughter. Miya blushes slightly and coughs into her hand composing herself. Maya notices her twin's reaction.
' Hhmm. Something happened to nee-san that she is not telling me.' Maya thought amused seeing her sister's reaction.
" Someone gave me advice," Miya said avoiding their gaze as she looks at the screen. Maya giggled amusedly as she motion Hayama to play the video once again.
" Then. What should I do? I don't know how to help her. It's the only way I know." Genzou admitted.
" Be always there for her. Being there is enough. Don't interfere with her memories. I think you witness to yourself how someone acts without their memories." Natsu said drinking his tea.
Genzou nods remembering how Natsu seems lost when he first met him. Though he still looks lost until now, remembering his name is a start for him to loosen up a little and enjoy his stay in his house.
" I understand Natsu-sama. Then... May I ask for advice if there's anything we can do to help Maya in her recovery?" Natsu crosses his arm and sighs.
" Even though our experience is different. As you can see, don't pressure her into recovery. Act like normal you always do with her, I'm sure she doesn't want anyone to treat her like a fragile person." Natsu said while Genzou nod remembering Natsu's advice.
" Second. A change of scenery is always a good chance for recovery. A vacation is a good start to relax her body and mind after all the traumatic experience she experiences."
" I understand," Genzou said in agreement.
" And it's good if she hangs out with her friends so she will not feel crowded by her family," Natsu said.
" I will remember it Natsu-sama. Thank you for your advice."
" I'm just trying to help the best as I can. By the way, Did you bring new books for me to read?" Natsu asks
" Ah Yes. I brought another batch of books. I'm amazed how fast you can read the books I brought you" Genzou said looking at the pile of books that Natsu read. It's been 3 months since Maya's rescue but he already read a lot of books.
" Before, I thought he is reading books for entertainment. But watching this now surprise me." Juuzo said as the others nod in agreement. Their expression becomes somber at the revelation they watch.
" Now it all makes sense. Since he doesn't have any knowledge from his past. He resorts to reading the information in books" Yume added with a defeated sigh.
" I need information since I don't have any memories of my past. Though I'm not familiar with some terms and the books talk more about the technical terminologies which are sometimes hard to understand." Natsu stated.
" Then. Is it okay if assign someone to teach you more about magic in this world?" Genzou asks.
" If possible, yes. Though make sure what happens here will stay here." Natsu said nonchalantly.
" Of course Natsu-sama. I already have someone in mind" Genzou said smiling at Natsu happily
" Why do I feel like your planning something" Natsu mutter feeling a shiver in his spine.
" Who did you chose to be Natsu's teacher? Otou-sama?" Miya asks looking at their father who chuckles remembering a certain memory.
" You just have to watch, Miya. It will be hilarious" Genzou said trying to stop laughing.
Maya's brow twitches as she tries to stop blushing in front of them. A sudden memory assaults her as she tries to control her embarrassment. Remembering it once again makes her blush once again.
Timeskip
Natsu stares in shock and gape mouth looking at Genzou in front of him. A bump can be seen on his head.
Besides Genzou is a woman with black hair and purple eyes, has feminine beauty despite her age. Maya is blushing madly as she refuses to look into his eyes and chooses to stare at the floor.
" Maya. This is Natsu, you will be teaching him about our society and magic." Genzou introduced his daughter, his smile never leaving his face as he tried to hold back a laugh.
" Natsu... This is Maya Yotsuba, my youngest daughter... She will be teaching you about magic. And starting from today, she will be living here with you."
" E-Eh?" Natsu mutter incredulously looking at Genzou who just smiles at him then his eyes widen at the realization.
" NNNAAANNNIII!!!???"
They also stare confused at the scene in front of them except Maya who looks embarrassed and Genzou who is now laughing.
" Otou-san! Stop laughing! It's not funny!" Maya shouts in embarrassment at her father.
" Sorry... It's just remembering it is still funny to me." Genzou said
" Um. So Maya became his teacher regarding magic." Miya then turns to her sister. "And why are you blushing in the video? And why does he have a bump on his head? Did something happen between you two?" Miya teasingly asks. Maya chose not to answer. Instead, she asks Hayama to play the next video. Though Miya notices a blush on Maya's cheek making her more intrigued about how her sister and Natsu meet.
" I can't wait to watch how you two met "
