Hey everyone, Musikman50 here! First I'd like to apologize for not updating this story in a long while. I'll admit I've been procrastinating and intentionally trying not to write stories. I was feeling burned out and I needed a break for a while. However, I couldn't just leave you all with nothing. Besides, I made a promise to upload new chapters within a certain period of time so I have to keep it. Anyways, I'm back and I hope you enjoy the story.

Chapter 21: War of Kings Part 2

At the Raft, several guards walked down a corridor where several of Peter's enemies were. The men went to several cells where they faced some of the villains.

Norman looked at the guards with a glare. "What do you want? Did you come here just to mock us? Do you have nothing better to do with your pathetic time?" Norman asked with disdain.

The guard said nothing to him. He took out a key and unlocked his cell. He then proceeded to walk away leaving the cell door open. Norman's glare turned to confusion. He stuck his head out to see the other guards doing the same thing and freeing the likes of Doc Ock, Electro, Vulture, Shocker, Scorpion, Rhino, and Venom.

"Octavius what is going on here?" Norman asked.

"It would seem as though someone has placed the guards under hypnosis. Who is controlling them is what I want to know", Otto said.

"Regardless of why it happened, I can finally cut loose", Max said as he started to generate lightning.

"I'd stop if I were all of you". Everyone turned to see Adriana walk towards them. "I wouldn't go crazy just yet. I need your help with a problem I have and you all are the perfect people who can help me".

"Why should we help you?" Gargan asked.

"Because it involves Spider-Man and some amazon whore plans to kill him before any of you. Would you allow someone else to steal your kill?" Adriana asked with a smirk with the unconscious forms of Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and various SHIELD soldiers right behind her.

Hala

Peter and allies managed to get outside of the palace as the Green Lanterns Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, and Kyle Rayner stood with an unharmed Princess Crystal. She had minor scrapes and a few cuts in her suit but she was fine all things considered.

Medusa ran over to her younger sister and hugged. "Thank goodness you are alright", Medusa said as she held her sister.

"I should be saying that to you", Crystal said back with a fond smile. Black Bolt walked over with a small smile. Crystal understood what he was saying without him needing to speak. "Thank you my King".

"Jessica, Simon, glad you could make it", Diana said.

"I'd say we got here just in time", Simon said. "From what we've heard this Vulcan guy is really dangerous".

"That's exactly the case. Vulcan is extremely powerful and has Phoenix Force lock away to be used as a power source. We'll need to get to the Phoenix itself and free it before he notices", Cap said to them.

"I can free the Phoenix", Jean said as she stepped forward. Everyone looked at her with looks of concern. "I was able to reach into Vulcan's mind and find where the Phoenix is".

"There is also a chance that the Phoenix will attempt to bond with you again", Diana said.

"Diana is right. We have to come with something else", Clark said.

"We don't have much time guys", Peter said as he looked up. "I understand the risk of Jean being with the Phoenix again so let me go with her to ensure her protection".

Before anyone could answer just yet, they all got a message from Thor in space.

"Comrades incoming! A familiar foe has been sent towards the planet!" Thor announced to everyone. As if on cue, everyone heard a noise and looked up. To there shock and horror, it was the gigantic robot called Ultimo that was descending towards the ground.

"That's a big robot", Jessica said with slight panic.

"Yeah, no kidding", Simon replied.

"That's not just gigantic robot. That's Ultimo a powerful doomsday weapon, capable of annihilating everything in it's path", Steve informed them.

"That is not good', Dinah said.

From where he was, Vulcan watched as Ultimo descended and smiled. "Yes, you've done marvelous Gladiator", Vulcan said.

Back with the group, Sue was the first to speak. "We need to get going everyone. Peter look after Jean for us and don't you dare die on us", Sue said.

"Who am I to make my lovely wives angry? You can count on me", Peter said with a smile under his mask. Sue smiled and hugged him before letting him go. Though the others were concerned, they understand and gave Peter and Jean a way to leave.

The two ran towards the Marveller and blasted off. At the same time, Ultimo landed with an extremely hard thud on the ground and creating a crater. Ultimo began to stand up right and began attacking everything and everyone in sight.

The heroes rushed to protect the various Kree people that were about to be attacked by Ultimo. Clark, Diana, and Sue managed to save several Kree soldiers while Cap and Green Lanterns saved several Kree civilians.

"Something isn't right. Doesn't Ultimo have his own mind?" Sue asked.

"No he doesn't. Ultimo was captured by the Shi'ar months earlier and wiped it's mind completely", Medusa answered.

"Well that's terrifying", John said.

"Oh, it gets worse for you". Everyone turned to see Vulcan on top of building. "Ultimo is under my complete control. With a simple command, Ultimo with do anything that want". Vulcan turns to Ultimo. "Ultimo, destroy everything that isn't from the Shi'ar!"

Ultimo did not waste time attacking the heroes and anyone else that it was around. "Questionable morals or not, the Kree don't deserve this. We have to help them", Cap said.

Everyone agreed and jumped in to save the the people of Hala. Black Bolt looks towards Vulcan with a disapproving look as Medusa catches on to what he wants.

"My love, wait, are you sure you want to do this?" Medusa asked. Black Bolt shook his head before motioning to the people the that were in trouble. Medusa realized what he was saying and nodded. "I want you to come too so please be careful". Black Bolt smiled before kissing Medusa on forehead.

With that, Black Bolt flew upwards right and on top of the building in front of Vulcan. "So are you ready to fight me?" Vulcan said as he eyes began glowing.

With as much restraint as he could muster, Black Bolt opened his mouth and then... "Yes", Black Bolt said with a gentle whisper. Vulcan tried to attack first but was instantly blown away. Black Bolt continued on by flying towards Vulcan as he began attacking him repeatedly with punches to the face.

One strike managed to knock Vulcan to the ground and on to his back. Vulcan was still conscious and managed to sit up. "This is going to be fun", Vulcan said before turning his attention to the heroes fighting Ultimo. "Though, I suppose Gladiator should have a bit of fun too".

Vulcan pressed a button on his side before getting back up and fighting Black Bolt again.

with Peter & Jean

Peter and Jean managed to fly back into space and and avoid Shi'ar starships thanks to a built cloaking device Peter added. As they flew Jean felt her connection to the Phoenix and pointed where to go.

"That ship up ahead, that's where the Phoenix is", Jean said.

"Gotcha", Peter said as he managed to fly under the ship. His ship attached itself to the main ship and managed to get itself. "Any ideas on how to slip pass them all without getting noticed?"

"I can shield our presence from everyone with my telepathy", Jean said before placing her hand to her head. Several Shi'ar troops came from around the corner and passed by the two like they didn't even notice them.

"Okay, that's really cool", Peter said before he began walking forward. "Time to rescue the Phoenix Force.

The two began making their way to the Phoenix with Jean leading the way. Jean was concentrating on the way to the Phoenix but she could sense that Peter had something on his mind.

"What's wrong Peter?" Jean asked.

"Huh?"

"You have something on your mind don't you? You can tell me right?" Jean asked.

"You're right. Lately, I've been getting this weird feeling, mainly about you", Peter said. "I should let you know that it's not something bad. Not to make this weird but I think we have been avoiding each other intentionally and I think we both need to just tell the truth".

Jean turned to look at Peter before she looked at the ground. "I think I know what you mean. Truth is Peter, I like you a lot but with everything we both have gone through, I didn't want either of us to go some much pain", Jean said back to him.

"Jean, regardless of what we do, we will always feel pain of some sort. It's how we deal with pain that counts", Peter said before walking towards her. "I hated the pain of losing Gwen, MJ, and my Aunt May but if I became so fixated on the past, I could never move forward".

"How do you move forward despite all the pain?" Jean asked.

Peter took off his mask and smiled. "Simple, I remember my friends and this who mean the world to me. You are definitely one of them", Peter said. Jean looked into his eyes and smiled as while.

"Thank you Peter. I guess we should move forward from the past", Jean said. "Let's get going then".

"Right behind you", Peter said as he put his mask back on.

After a while two managed to find the Phoenix Force trapped inside of a container. The cosmic bird looked to it's rescuers. "Jean Grey, I had a feeling you would come for me", Phoenix sound.

"We are here to rescue you and to stop this war from progressing any further", Jean said to it. "Not only that for a while I will willingly bond with you".

This news caught Peter off guard. "Wait what?" Peter asked.

"I know but please trust me on this", Jean said to him with a reassuring smile.

"Well, alight then. I trust you", Peter said.

"You want to join together again? This is interesting", Phoenix said intrigued by this.

"Only for this one time. This isn't a permanent thing", Jean said. "Do we have a deal?" Phoenix looked towards the two before speaking again.

with the others

The heroes were fighting against Ultimo as well as getting all of the people out of harms way. Superman went to attack when he was blasted away by Gladiator.

"Gladiator, what the hell?!" Clark yelled.

"It is my duty! You should know this!" Gladiator said before charging to attack Clark again. Clark charge at him as well causing the two powerhouses to clash.

"Great, how are we going to stop it now?" Kyle asked.

Just as he said that, a portal opened up with the other heroes managing to get to Hala. Everyone was there and didn't waste time going to help out. "Everyone, focus getting the Kree and Inhumans to safety. Once everyone is out of the way, then we deal with Ultimo", Bruce commanded.

Vulcan was fighting with Black Bolt when he saw that the heroes had arrived. "What how did this happen?!" Vulcan yelled.

As if things couldn't get worse for him, Jean descended from the skies empowered by the Phoenix once again. Peter in the Marveller followed.

"What the... Jean?" Logan asked.

"Worry not everyone, I am in control this time", Jean said as she stopped Ultimo's attack from destroying innocent people.

"Everyone we are ending this war! MARVELLER CHANGE! LEOPARDON!" Peter yelled out. In an instant, spaceship transformed into a battle mech called Leopardon. It stood in front of Ultimo ready to fight. "Pardon me using Japanese but... IKUZE!" With that shout, Leopardon charged at Ultimo as the heroes joined in the fight.

Next time Leopardon vs Ultimo! Plus Peter, Black Bolt, Cyclops, and Havok face off against Vulcan.

I was going to post this chapter yesterday but I had a cold that is slowly healing.
