If Aizawa expelled…
Chapter four: Manly Mysteries
The audience that had been summoned to the theater room by the Realmcrafter Talespinner69 had just finished watching the third of twenty realms in which Aizawa expels a different one of the students in his homeroom class. So far, each theoretical expulsion had consequences, and all of them weren't exactly pretty. In fact, the third realm was the prettiest thus far by virtue of the fact that no one had died in it.
It really says something that Aizawa expelling a student has a two in three chance of resulting in at least one fatality.
"Wow Sho," Hizashi remarked as he turned to face Aizawa, "It's starting to look like expelling any of the kids Nezu trusted you with has a high risk of blowing up in your face."
Sighing, the underground hero said in a dry tone, "I'm just worried that things might wind up getting worse. I mean, we had villains killing most of my students, Japanese hero society going through an upheaval, and now UA dealing with a major scandal. Who can say what will take place next?"
"Only one way to find that out, Aizawa," Tale remarked from where he and Kotaro stood in front of the big theater screen, "Because the next realm is ready and rearing to go."
Everyone in the audience turned to face the big theater screen and watched on as the fourth of twenty realms that were promised to them began playing, with Aizawa worrying how his actions here will come back to bite him in the ass.
...
(If Aizawa expelled Eijiro Kirishima)
"Woah, I'm up to bat now?" Kirishima in the audience said, looking a bit shocked to see that he was the fourth student that would be expelled in a realm.
"Pfft, what could Kirishima do to get expelled?" Mina asked rhetorically, "He's a good boy!"
"Nothing that I'd like, I'd say," Aizawa remarked dryly.
Aizawa was walking to his classroom at UA, accompanied by All Might's police friend Detective Naomasa, who Aizawa was bringing as a special guest lecturer to talk to the teens about the relationship between pro heroes and the police.
"So this is the first special thing that your class is doing since you had to expel that Kirishima boy and got that Shinso boy moved into the class in his place," Naomasa remarked, drawing an affirmative nod from the underground hero.
Gesturing to the big theater screen, Shinso in the audience said, "There it is again, me being added to 1-A because room was made because Aizawa-sensei expelled a student."
Nodding in confirmation, Tale said, "Like I said, my kind has taken something of a liking to you, Shinso. Hell, me liking you is one of the main reasons you're at the top of the list of folks from your realm that I wanted to summon."
Gesturing to the space before him and the good detective, Aizawa explained, "Well I kind of had to expel Kirishima. After all, he knocked over and broke that statue on campus that was of great historical value to UA, and we never even would have learned that it was Kirishima who broke it had it not been for Sekijiro's boy Togaru telling me that he saw Kirishima break it."
In the audience, Aizawa gently face palmed as he said, "Please tell me this isn't going to lead to what I'm thinking its going to lead to..." Meanwhile, a number of eyes all turned to look in the direction of the mantis boy of class 1-B, who paled a bit under the scrutiny.
Aizawa and Naomasa got to the door leading into the 1-A homeroom, opened the door and walked in. To the surprised wonder of both men, all of Aizawa's students were asleep at their respective desks. "...What the hell?" Aizawa remarked. Raising his voice, Aizawa called out in a stern tome, "I hope all of you had enjoyed your nap time!"
Seeing that none of his students had stirred, he moved to the closest one, who just so happened to have been Shinso. The underground hero placed a hand on Shinso's shoulder and gave him a good shake. "Wake up, Shinso," Aizawa began, "I don't want to have to think that adding you to..."
Aizawa stopped short when he noticed that Shinso was showing no sign of actually sleeping, per say. His eyes suddenly widening out of worry, Aizawa proceeded to turn Shinso's right arm over face up then checked for a pulse. After a few seconds, Aizawa got up and backed away slowly, an upset look on his face. "Shinso...Shinso is dead."
"Wait a minute, I died?!" Shinso in the audience nearly exclaimed.
"I...I think that all of us in class died in this realm," Izuku said in a worried tone.
Looking around at all of the 'sleeping' students in class, Naomasa said, "I think that all of them are dead, Aizawa." Gently shaking his head, the good detective began in a worried tone, "I have no idea how we're going to break the news of-"
"Aizawa!" coughed out a weak and raspy voice, cutting Naomasa off and making both him and Aizawa look around. "It's me, Dark Shadow!" the raspy voice called out, "Over here by Fumi!" The two men looked over at where Tokoyami sat forever still at his desk, and saw a shadowy hand reach up from the floor. They rushed over and saw Dark Shadow laying on the floor as he was still coming out of Tokoyami, his eyes struggling to stay open as he gasped for breath.
"You're Tokoyami's quirk," Naomasa said, "How are you even existing with Tokoyami clearly being dead?"
Gesturing to Naomasa, Aizawa said, "Maybe it has to do with the fact that Dark Shadow is a sentient quirk."
Taking some weak gasps, Dark Shadow said, "Indeed. I have a bit of life force to myself, allowing me to exist outside of Fumi." Taking another gasp, Dark Shadow went on, "But I am still connected to him. Fumi being dead has limited my *gasp* time."
Turning to look at Tokoyami, Kaminari in the audience asked, "That actually raises a good point. Tokoyami, can Dark Shadow actually survive without you?"
"I'd...rather not have to find that out, with all due respect," Tokoyami replied.
Looking up at Aizawa and Naomasa, Dark Shadow said, "You two must listen to me. When Fumi and all of his classmates got here to the classroom this morning, they found cupcakes waiting for all of them on their desks. There was even one waiting for you on your desk Aizawa, but Bakugo's blonde idiot who shot lightning from his nipples dared Sato to eat it."
Arching a confused eyebrow, Naomasa repeated, "Blonde idiot who shot lightning from his nipples?"
"I think that he's talking about Kaminari, and that's not how his quirk had worked at all," Aizawa replied dryly.
Gasping a bit, Dark Shadow said, "I honestly couldn't tell most of Fumi's classmates apart from one another. But that's not important." Gasping once more, Dark Shadow explained, "Look, men. Those cupcakes must have had poison in them with the intent to kill not just Fumi, but all of his classmates as well as you, Aizawa."
"...Okay, I highly doubt that Kirishima would go so far as to try and kill me and the rest of the class with poisoned cupcakes just because I expelled him over what I'm getting a dreading feeling is false charges," Aizawa in the audience remarked as he gestured to the big theater screen, "He's not exactly the culinary type."
Folding his arms over his chest, Kaminari said, "I still can't believe even Tokoyami's quirk thinks that I'm an idiot."
"Hey, can you at least shoot lightning from your nipples?" Sero asked in a curious tone, making Kaminari himself wonder it he could.
"Aizawa," Dark Shadow began weakly, "You not being here gives the deaths of Fumi and his classmates a chance to be avenged." Shakily, the sentient quirk held a hand up to gesture to the underground hero and the good detective. "Seek out Bakugo's manly idiot who you expelled. He can help you with the hunt for justice."
Sucking in a cringing breath, Aizawa remarked, "Meeting Kirishima after I had expelled him might be a bit awkward."
"Indeed, but it ain't my problem," Dark Shadow replied, "But anyway, I'm drawing close to breathing my last. Soon I shall ascend to the pantheon above and assume my rightful place as the new God of War."
"...What?" Aizawa said dryly.
"It was brief, but seeing you regularly was quite a trip," Dark Shadow said weakly, "Farwell, Aizawa. And beware. Be...ware the...girl..." Dark Shadow gently closed his eyes, became eerily still, and was sucked back up into the body of the late Tokoyami.
Pointing the floor with his fist, Naomasa yelled, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Gesturing to the big theater screen, Tokoyami said in a confused tone, "What in blazes was Dark Shadow going on about concerning him becoming the new God of War?"
"He also said something to Aizawa-sensei and Detective Naomasa about bewaring some girl," Izuku pointed out, "Sort of like he might have had an idea on who it was that killed everyone in class with the poisoned cupcakes."
Aizawa and Naomasa got up from where they were both kneeling on the floor to talk to Dark Shadow in his final moments. Both of the men wore grim expressions. "...What should we do now, Aizawa?" Naomasa asked.
Folding his arms over his chest, the underground hero began, "Well first we need to inform the rest of the staff about what had happened here. After that..." Turning to face Naomasa fully, Aizawa said, "You and me are going to go see Kirishima. I got it that he now works a full time job at a used goods store that deals with the buying, selling and trading of books, video games, musical instruments and the like."
Naomasa nodded in understanding as he and Aizawa turned to leave the classroom where all twenty of Aizawa's students were sitting dead at their desks. A fate that Aizawa himself would have shared in had it not been for him running late.
"...Okay, I hope that my students aren't dim enough to just eat cupcakes that they find sitting on their desks like that," Aizawa in the audience remarked as he gestured to the big theater screen.
"Yeah, I'm sure that a lot of us would be far more suspicious," Shinso agreed, with a lot of those in class 1-A nodding along in a likewise manner.
...
Aizawa and Naomasa were sitting in a backroom at the used goods store that Kirishima got a job at after Aizawa had expelled him from UA, talking to Kirishima himself. The hardening quirk boy was by no means amused, first because he was forced to meet with the man that had kicked him out of school and effectively killed his dreams of being a pro hero, and now because he was told what had happened to class 1-A.
"I'm just asking this to clear the air," Naomasa said to Kirishima, "But do you have anything to do with the poisoned cupcakes that killed all of your former classmates, yes or no?"
"Pfft, no," Kirishima practically snarled.
Turning to face Aizawa, Naomasa said, "He's telling the truth. We can safely eliminate him as a suspect in the murder of all of your students."
"Ah yes," Toshinori in the audience said, "Naomasa's quirk lets him know if someone is telling the truth or not, essentially making him a human lie detector." Aizawa moaned in embarrassed discomfort, having a strong idea where this was going.
"Wow, I didn't expect this," Kirishima said with clear bitterness in his tone and in his expression, "Someone actually believes me. Of course, I'm still pissed that not only was I expelled for something I didn't do, but was then suspected of murdering all of my old friends and classmates!"
Signing in an exasperated tone, Aizawa said, "Don't you even think about starting that with me, Kirishima. I had full reason to-"
Aizawa was interrupted when Naomasa, a look of curiosity on his face, held an arm out in front of the underground hero. "...Yes, I heard about that incident with the statue that was on school grounds. Let me ask, did you break it or had anything to do with it being broken, yes or no?"
"No, I did not break it or had anything to do with it being broken," Kirishima replied, practically snarling again.
Turning to face Aizawa, Naomasa said with a dry and unamused look, "Well Aizawa, I hope that you're happy. You expelled an innocent student over something that he didn't do for nothing."
Face palming, Aizawa in the audience said in an embarrassed tone, "I knew it. Kirishima ended up being innocent."
"I think that UA can avoid a lot of unnecessary punishing of students in major events if we get Naomasa to come over and confirm a few things with his quirk before we act," Toshinori remarked, "Getting a guaranteed truth would be a big boon." A number of other UA staff all nodded in agreement with the former Symbol of Peace.
Aizawa went a bit wide-eyed with shocked surprise. "Kirishima is innocent?"
"And it seriously took a man with the power to know for sure if someone is lying or not for you to realize that," Kirishima said bitterly, "Wow, Aizawa. You're one right proper piece or work, I hope that you know that."
Aizawa was already reeling from finding all twenty of his students dead, and now he got it that his former student who he had expelled turned out to have been telling the truth when it came to him saying he didn't have anything to do with that statue being broken. It wasn't helping that Kirishima was bitterly referring to him without the 'sensei' honorific, a reminder to Aizawa that he ruined the dreams of an innocent teen boy for nothing.
At that point, Sekijiro came in with a troubled look on his face. "Umm, Aizawa? Yeah, Hound Dog and I did a proper investigation into the case of that statue that was historically important to UA being broken, and it turns out that Kirishima-"
"He's innocent, I know," Aizawa said as he gestured around to Kirishima and Naomasa, "He told Naomasa he didn't do it, and Naomasa with his quirk confirmed that he told the truth."
Rubbing the back of his head as he wore an embarrassed expression, Sekijiro went on, "Well here's the thing. You know how it was my boy Togaru who claimed that Kirishima broke the statue? Yeah, Hound Dog and I had just confirmed that it was actually Togaru himself who had broken the statue because of some convoluted plan he had to screw with your boy Bakugo by messing with Bakugo's circle of friends in your class."
"I had a gut feeling that Togaru had something to do with the statue being broken," Itsuka in the audience remarked as a few other girls threw things at the mantis boy in 1-B.
"And he did it in some plan to ultimately fuck with me!" Bakugo exclaimed, "What the fuck?!"
"Wait, so Tetsutetsu's classmate Togaru did it and framed me for it?" Kirishima asked, looking more surprised than anything.
Nodding a few times in the affirmative, the blood hero said, "Yeah, and as we speak Nezu is taking the steps to reinstate you as a student at UA, provided that you'd like to come back. He's even looking into having the expulsion that's on your permanent record removed, given that it has no reason to be there."
"So..." Aizawa began, looking and sounding mildly guilty, "...Kirishima is being offered to come back to UA."
"Yeah, and he'll be put into class 1-B for two reasons," Sekijiro said as he turned to face Aizawa, "One, Nezu feels that due to your act of expelling Kirishima turning out to be wholly unjustified, there will be a lack of trust between him and you. Two..." A look of being resigned on his face, Sekijiro said, "...Togaru was found dead, so 1-B has a vacancy."
"Wait, so I'm dead in this realm now?!" Togaru in the audience exclaimed.
Folding her arms over her chest, Itsuka replied dryly, "And that is what your alternative self gets for framing Kirishima for something he didn't do." A few others in the audience all snickered at the mantis boy a bit, making him scowl.
"Wait, Togaru died? How?" Aizawa asked, looking very much shocked, as did Naomasa and even Kirishima.
"We're guessing that he was poisoned, given what things look like and whatnot," Sekijiro explained. To Kirishima, Sekijiro asked, "So what do you say? Figure you'd be willing to return to UA but under my tutelage?"
Kirishima looked like he was deeply considering the offer. "...First, I need to help Aizawa and Detective Naomasa with trying to look into who killed all of my former classmates, since Dark Shadow thought that I can help."
Naomasa clapped his hands together. "Well alright! Now we're cooking!" Getting up, Naomasa said, "Come on, gentlemen! We got a case to crack!"
...
The group consisting of Aizawa, Sekijiro, Naomasa and Kirishima were out looking for any leads concerning the fatal poisoning of now twenty-one UA students. As the four of them were all looking around, Aizawa said, "I...I still can't believe that I was so stupid. How could I not have investigated the claims Togaru made before acting?"
Shrugging, Sekijiro remarked, "Yeah, not your most rational moment."
Turning to look at Sekijiro, Aizawa in the audience said, "...How dare you."
As the party looked around, they were distracted by two cries for help, one coming from closer to where Sekijiro and Kirishima stood, and the other from closer to where Aizawa and Naomasa stood. Unable to ignore the calls for help, the four of them split up, with Sekijiro giving Kirishima the okay to use his quirk as the two of them ran off in the direction that they heard the cry closest to them.
As for Aizawa and Naomasa, they both ran to the cry closest to them. The two of them ran through the alleyway, making a few turns that took them deeper and deeper onto the maze that was formed by the alleyways between buildings. "Hello? We're Detective Naomasa and the pro hero Eraserhead," Naomasa called out, "If you're in trouble, we can-"
*click*
Aizawa and Naomasa both stood still, with the latter stopping short in what he was saying, when they both heard the click of a gun. They then heard a voice call out to them, "Hands in the air, both of you. No funny business, either." The voice was female, and it sounded young as well; Aizawa estimated the owner of the voice to be around Kirishima's age.
"Ooh, sounds like a girl is holding Aizawa-sensei and Detective Naomasa at gun point," Mina in the audience said in an excited but worried tone.
"...Who's there?" Aizawa called out.
"Hmph, I suppose I ought to show you," the female voice called out in response. Aizawa and Naomasa then saw a teenage girl walk out from the shadows, holding a handgun that she had trained on them. However, the identity of the girl took Aizawa by surprise, as he recognized her as Sekijiro's student Kinoko Komori, dressed in her casual outfit which sort of made her look like a Victorian era doll, what with the dress and all.
"KINOKO?!" a large number of the UA students in the audience all cried in shocked surprise, while Kinoko herself shrank into her seat out of embarrassment.
"You," Aizawa said as he pointed to the mushroom girl.
Naomasa, with a curious look on his face, said to Aizawa while pointing at Kinoko, "Hang on a minute there, Aizawa. You know this Victorian era doll-looking girl?"
Nodding a few times, the underground hero explained, "I do. She's one of Sekijiro's students, which he could have confirmed had he been here."
"Well it's a good thing some...close friends of mine...are helping me with this," Kinoko said, "Distracting Sekijiro-sensei and Eijiro so I could deal with you alone, Aizawa-sensei."
"...Something tells me I'm not going to like who Komori's 'friends' are going to be," Aizawa in the audience remarked dryly.
"Young lady, what do you think that you're doing?" Naomasa asked, hoping to buy time by getting Kinoko to talk.
The mushroom girl of class 1-B gave the two men a narrowing glare. "...I'm getting revenge, that's what I'm doing," Kinoko said, "Getting revenge for the wrong that this aloof assfuck-" Kinoko stopped short to gesture at Aizawa with her gun, "-Had dared to carry out against my dear sweet Eijiro."
"Oh shit!" Setsuna in the audience exclaimed as she pointed at the theater screen, "Kinoko is yandere for Kirishima in this realm! This is...oddly familiar, actually..."
Where she sat in the audience, Kinoko shrunk into her seat as she covered her face with her hands out of embarrassment. As for Kirishima, he looked mildly rattled to see a girl having gone full yandere for him.
"...You're talking about how I expelled Kirishima," Aizawa said, a dawning look of realization on his face. Acting quickly, the underground hero said, "Look, we just discovered that Kirishima is innocent, and UA is taking steps to-"
"Regardless of what you offer, the damage has already been done," Kinoko interrupted, "But don't worry, I have taken...steps...to avenge the wrong you committed against Eijiro myself. Although I have to wonder Aizawa-sensei, how come you didn't eat your cupcake?"
Aizawa and Naomasa both went wide-eyed with shock. "...You're the one who left those poisoned cupcakes for 1-A," Naomasa said.
Kinoko smirked a bit in amusement. "Ding ding, we have a winner." Shrugging, the mushroom girl went on, "It wasn't right that those others were allowed to have what Aizawa saw fit to take away from Eijiro, so I figured that if Eijiro couldn't become a pro hero, then none of them could. I even found out about how it was all ultimately a plan that Togaru cooked up because he had wanted to mess with Eijiro's explosive friend. Which is why I...got my point across to Togaru."
"...So it was you, Komori," Aizawa said, a look of dawning horror on his fave, the sound of dawning heartbreak in his tone, "You killed all of them."
Kinoko in the audience shrank further and further into her theater seat out of embarrassment as her alternative self on the big theater screen went on about how she had not only killed all of class 1-A, but also her classmate Togaru.
As for the mantis boy himself, he turned to Kinoko and said, "Uhh, Kinoko, if it would help I will swear to never do anything to mess with Tetsutetsu's clone in 1-A." When the mushroom girl moaned loudly in embarrassment, Itsuka smacked Togaru in the back of the head.
Kinoko nodded in confirmation. "Have you ever been a girl in love, Aizawa-sensei? Do you know how far such a girl would go to make everything perfect for her beloved? To...eliminate all issues against said beloved?"
"I know that feel," Toga in the audience remarked casually.
Folding his arms over his chest, Spinner said as he rolled his eyes, "Yeah, we know." Over where he sat in the audience, Izuku couldn't help but shudder involuntarily.
Aizawa and Naomasa were wondering just how to deal with the clearly deluded girl who stood before them, but before either of them could act, Aizawa and Naomasa both suddenly felt their breathing getting labored. They both dropped to their hands and knees as Kinoko looked on in a morbid sense of satisfaction.
"...Ah yes, that would be my mushroom spores that had entered the two of you ever since I had stepped out from the shadows," Kinoko began to explain, "Growing the cutest little mushrooms inside of your throats and lungs. Oh, also all of the mushrooms that are growing inside the two of you are poisonous." As both men collapsed, Kinoko said, "By the time your bodies are all found, the mushrooms that grew inside of both of you will have long since disappeared. They only last a few hours, after all..."
Naomasa already passed out and was soon going to die, but Aizawa was a bit tougher. Even so, he knew that he was finished, and in his final moments of being conscious, he regretted how he had failed to do a proper job as a teacher, how he had failed to properly investigate those claims that one of Sekijiro's boys had made, how he had failed Kirishima. Well, Aizawa saw that he learned his lesson.
If only the lesson fee wasn't his life.
In the audience, Aizawa went wide-eyed with shocked surprise. "...So this is the first realm in which I end up dying as a result of blindly expelling one of the students in my class," remarked the underground hero.
"No! Not Shouta!" Emo cried as she looked on at the theater screen. Meanwhile, Kinoko cried out in an embarrassed tone.
...
(Two weeks later)
Kirishima, who had since been reinstated as a student UA in class 1-B, was sitting in class with his new classmates when Sekijiro came into the classroom, a grim look on his face. "Kids, I'm afraid that I have some grim news," the blood hero began, "Both Detective Naomasa and Aizawa have been found dead."
The students all looked shocked by the news. Kirishima was also shocked, but he was unsure how to feel about what happened to Aizawa in particular. Sekijiro said that 1-B was excused for the rest of the day, as he's needed to help with the investigation. As such, all of 1-B got up and proceeded to file out of class.
As he was chatting it up with Tetsutetsu and Jurota, Kirishima felt a tugging on his right arm, making him turn to see that Kinoko was holding it close to her person in a hugging hold. "Heh, well ain't you the class casanova, my dude," Tetsutetsu remarked in an amused tone to his red-haired friend. Tetsutetsu and Jurota took their leave, with Tetsutetsu saying he and Jurota ought to leave the lovebirds alone.
Although he was a bit embarrassed by the teasing from his new classmates, Kirishima had to admit that his newfound relationship with Kinoko ever since he had been reinstated into UA was rather nice; he even went with a stroll through a local park with Kinoko while holding her hand, something that he had always wanted to do with a girl if he ever got a girlfriend. And it was nice of Kinoko how she was always trying to cheer him up whenever he felt down about all of his former classmates dying.
...Granted, Kirishima was completely oblivious to the fact that it was Kinoko who was the one that had killed all of class 1-A, her classmate Togaru, Aizawa and Naomasa because she had wanted to avenge the wrong the late underground hero did to him. But it was for the best; after all, Kirishima didn't need to know that his girlfriend Kinoko was completely crazy for him.
FIN
Everyone in the audience was looking on in shock at the theater screen after the fourth realm had just finished playing. "...Well now," Tale said from where and Kotaro stood, "That escalated quickly. I mean that really got out of hand fast."
"I think that the mushroom girl in that realm had actually managed to accomplish the impossible and out-crazied Toga," Dabi remarked, drawing nods of agreement out of all of the other villains in the audience, even those not affiliated directly with the League of Villains. Even Toga herself nodded in agreement with Dabi's assessment of the realm that had just finished playing on the big theater screen.
"It makes one worried about what all will go down in the next realm as a result of Aizawa expelling whatever one of his students that he gives the axe to in that realm, eh?" Kotaro said as Aizawa in the audience himself found himself agreeing.
END OF CHAPTER
Author's notes;
Yeah, there's always a consequence, although what said consequence is varies depending on who Aizawa gives the axe to. But that's not here nor there. Anyway, this is the longest chapter thus far, so yay for that. I didn't mean for it to go on this long though, so I'll be trying to keep things short and sweet in the coming chapters. Speaking of, anyone want to try to take a shot at guessing who will get expelled in the next chapter?
