Due to the poll this is the story that got the most votes, 34 to 10.

Right from the start I want to say that I got some of my inspiration for this from Mr. Chaos and his 'Harry Potter: Pokemon Master Series'. So if you see any similarities between them it's because he did it first and did very well.

Now onto the chapter.

Prologue: History

The Spirit World very was close to our World in the beginning. Beings from the Spirit World were able to interact with ours as easily as anyone from ours could.

However over time our World's started to drift apart. The spirits started to become less physical. Eventually getting to the point that only a very few beings in our World could even see them.

Soon one creature from the Spirit World got desperate and made a bond with one of the ones who could see it. The Spirit creature would look after the one who could see it and in exchange the one the Spirit was connected to would lend it some special energy that would allow it to stay in our World.

Over time more Spirit creatures bonded with those that could see them. After an unknown time it became standard for those that could see the Spirits to have one choose them. It usually happened at birth of the one they chose.

The being the first Spirit bonded with was a very early magic user, also known as a Wizard.

As the Centuries have passed the Spirits connection to our World has decreased to such a degree that only the one they are bonded to can see them.

Though there have been times that those with a very large amount of Magic could manifest their Spirit Guardians to either battle each other or save the World from destruction. Two of these are the Ancient Eygptians with their Shadow Games and the people of the Nazca Plains who sealed away the Earthbound Immortals.

Since then no one has been able to have much of anything significantly with their Guardians. Eventually with the Magic users going into hiding around the World.

That was until the most recent English Dark Lord. With his Guardians help he has lead a terror campaign on his home country. It was due to his bonded Spirit that he was able to gain as much power as he did.

Now due to some information he has recently acquired he knows of a possible threat to his rise to domination of both Worlds.
