If Aizawa expelled…
Chapter six: Accelerated Accusations
The audience that was summoned by the Realmcrafter Talespinner69 had just finished watching realm number five out of twenty that have been lined up for them in the current show. The realms this time all feature Aizawa expelling a different student from his homeroom class, and so far each expulsion shown has had consequences that all vary in how dire they all are. In fact, only two of the five realms that have been seen so far have had no deaths that resulted from Aizawa giving one of his students the axe.
"Well now Sho," Hizashi began as he turned to face Aizawa, "What do you think of the last realm that we just finished watching?"
"That you're an idiot," Aizawa retorted dryly.
"In his defence, the Hizashi of that realm was pretty steamed at Nemuri over something," Toshinori pointed out.
Gesturing to the former Symbol of Peace, Aizawa replied, "Yeah, but why would he of all things train a flock of pigeons to do that?"
As the audience was abuzz with conversation, Kotaro called out from where he stood in front of the big theater screen, "If you all are done shooting the breeze, we got another realm ready and rearing to go!"
Everyone then turned front and center to face the big theater screen, with Mina saying as she rubbed her hands together, "Hoo boy, I can't wait to see which one of us gets the boot from UA in this next realm!"
...
(If Aizawa expelled Tenya Iida)
"Damn it!" Mina in the audience exclaimed in disappointment, "I was banking on Mineta!"
Sighing where he sat in the audience, Mineta said, "I have a strong feeling that I'll be needing therapy by the end of this..."
"Guys, not now," Tenya scolded, "We need to see how this sixth realm plays out." Paling a bit, the class 1-A rep said, "...Even though it is apparently depicting my expulsion from UA."
Over in the 1-A homeroom class, Aizawa stood in front of his students, with Hitoshi Shinso standing next to him. "Brats, today we'll be joined by your newest classmate, Shinso," Aizawa began, "Who is being placed into 1-A due to the vacancy that had been made as of late."
"Uhh, yeah," Mina remarked in a dry tone, "A vacancy that was made by you expelling Tenya over something he very obviously did not do!"
Pointing an accusing finger at Mina, Aizawa said, "Zip it, Ashido. That video very clearly showed Iida killing the pro hero Uwabami."
As if on reflex, Aizawa face palmed. "I think that Iida killed Uwabami in this realm? You have got to be kidding me.
"Tenya...killed...I'm sorry, but with all due respect I have a hard time believing that, Aizawa-sensei," Shinso remarked.
"I know, right?" Izuku said, "I saw the news report about Uwabami's murder, which also had the video that Aizawa-sensei is talking about." Izuku took out his smartphone and used it to pull up a video that he showed to Shinso. The video looked like it was recorded on another phone, and it showed the filmer out at night for a walk when Tenya in his hero outfit was tossed out of an alleyway.
The filmer then ran to the alleyway's entrance and looked in with their phone, only to see the dead body of Uwabami laying on the ground, with multiple stab wounds, a sword slash across her upper body, and her throat slashed with a combat knife from the looks of it. The video then ended with the filmer throwing up.
Putting his smartphone away, Izuku said, "There's no way Tenya could have done damage like that to Uwabami. In fact, I'd pin the blame on Stain the Hero Killer, given that he escaped Tartarus recently enough to qualify as a suspect, the injuries inflicted on Uwabami are the kind that Stain can very easily inflict, and killing a pro hero like Uwabami is right up Stain's ally."
In the audience, Stain sat with his arms folded over his chest, a look of contemplation on his face. "...Yeah, that does sound like a sound argument. It helps that All Might's successor has a point that killing that hussy of a fake hero Uwabami would be something that I'd want to do."
Aizawa gently face palmed as he said, "...I suspect that I'm going to have a strong urge to want to strangle my alternate realm self here."
"Midoriya, there's no way it could have been the Hero Killer," Aizawa explained, "Stain wasn't seen in the Uwabami murder video, yet Iida was. Therefore, the killer has to be Iida."
Giving the underground hero a dry look, Izuku remarked, "Just because Stain wasn't seen doing it doesn't mean he didn't do it. Besides, does Tenya even have any experience in the use of bladed weapons?"
Shrugging, Aizawa replied, "He must have. Because he killed Uwabami."
"Forget strangling my alternate self here," Aizawa in the audience said, "I want to break a chair on the back of his clearly empty head."
Gesturing to the big screen, Nemuri remarked, "It's like this version of Shouta took a big sip of Hizashi's stupid juice or something!"
"Vodka," Hizashi stated, "You're thinking of vodka there, Nemuri."
As the class was getting settled down, Sekijiro and Hizashi came into the classroom. "Uhh, Sho? We got, like, a huge emergency," Hizashi said, "You need to come with me and Sekijiro to go see Nezu and the others."
Sighing, Aizawa replied, "Sure." To his students, Aizawa said, "Look, I'll consider it a win if I come back here and see that everyone's still alive. Just try to behave yourselves, won't you?"
Rolling his eyes, Bakugo remarked, "Fine, teach. I swear I'll only kick Grape Head once while you're gone." Aizawa nodded in approval before he took his leave with Hizashi and Sekijiro.
"I basically gave Bakugo the okay to assault one of his classmates?!" Aizawa in the audience practically exclaimed, "What the hell?!"
"Hey, that version seems pretty cool," Bakugo commented.
...
Over in Nezu's office, Aizawa and the others were meeting with Nezu and his guest visitor, who just so happened to be Enji Todoroki, aka the flame hero Endeavor. "Boys, we have something of an emergency on our hands," Nezu began in a concerned tone. Turning to look at Aizawa, the quirked animal principal said, "Something that has you expelling Mr. Iida as a catalyst, I'm afraid to say."
Aizawa went wide-eyed a bit with suspicious surprise. "...What are you on about?"
Nezu opened his mouth to speak, but he was cut off when Endeavor bellowed, "My precious little princess has been kidnapped!"
"Your what?" Sekijiro asked as he, Aizawa and Hizashi all looked at him with looks of confusion on their faces.
"He's...talking about his daughter Fuyumi," Nezu explained, "She had been kidnapped." Turning to regard the current number one hero, Nezu added in a dry tone, "Also, isn't Fuyumi twenty-three? She's a bit old for you to call her your precious little princess, don't you think?"
"She will always be my precious little princess!" Endeavor declared, "Question not the ideals of a man worried about his child!"
"The me in this realm has a point," Endeavor in the audience pointed out, "Fuyumi will always be my daughter, and as such I'm entitled to refer to her in such a fashion. Also, Fuyumi has been kidnapped in this realm?"
Crossing his arms over his chest, Todoroki remarked, "I'm willing to bet that Tenya has had something to do with the kidnapping, judging by what Nezu said about Aizawa-sensei expelling Tenya being a catalyst for it."
Turning to look at Tenya, Uraraka said, "Did you really kidnap Todoroki's older sister in this realm, Tenya?" The class 1-A rep sank into his seat out of embarrassment over what his alternative self might have done.
"...In any case," Nezu said as he turned back to face the UA teachers, "We have confirmation that Mr. Iida is indeed the kidnapper, given that he sent us this video." Nezu then pulled out a remote and pressed a button on it, making a section of wall part and reveal a monitor screen behind the parted wall.
Nezu then pressed another button to bring up the video. When the video started, it showed Tenya wearing a black top hat, a black suit with a cape, and he even had a thin moustache that he was twiddling with. "Neyahahahar!" Tenya laughed in the video, "I'm quite glad to see that UA hasn't dropped its standards since I left! You respond quickly!"
"What the hell am I wearing?!" Tenya in the audience exclaimed in embarrassment as he gestured to the big theater screen.
"What about the obviously fake moustache?" Mina asked.
Face palming, Aizawa said, "Please tell me that he's not seriously trying to play the villain roll like he did when he and Bakugo faced Midoriya and Uraraka in that one test early in the year..."
"Well maybe if you hadn't obviously wrongly expelled Tenya in this realm, this would not be happening," Nemuri said dryly, "Hmm?"
In the video, Tenya said as he was obviously caught up in playing the villain, "As you can see, I have here in my company someone who I am certain that the flame hero can tell you is a person of importance to him." Twiddling his moustache once again, Tenya added, "Oh, I also have this kid here."
The UA staff only saw Fuyumi tied to a chair, but then Tenya stepped to the side to reveal a ten-year-old boy who was also tied to a chair but he was asleep, unlike the clearly awake and clearly panicking Fuyumi. Upon seeing the boy that Tenya had also kidnapped, Nezu let out a shocked gasp of worry.
Turning to regard Nezu, Aizawa asked, "...You know that kid who Iida had kidnapped and is holding hostage, Nezu?"
Nodding grimly in confirmation, the quirked animal principal of UA replied, "Indeed." Gesturing to the screen as it showed the boy that Tenya had taken hostage, Nezu said, "That boy who has been taken hostage by Mr. Iida is Ms. Asui's little brother Samidare!"
"He kidnapped my little brother?!" Tsuyu in the audience exclaimed angrily, "I will destroy that son of a bitch!"
"It's just the alternative me there, Tsuyu!" Tenya said, "I would never kidnap anyone for real!"
Stepping back into view in the video, the hammy villain Tenya said, "Now then, there are a few things that my guests and I would like to...discuss...with Eraserhead. Only him, though; I don't think that I have to tell any of you what would happen otherwise." The former UA student had a look of consideration on his face. "...Actually, I suppose that Eraserhead can bring Present Mic along if he so wished. But no one else. I have included the location for them to come to."
After that, the video ended, and Nezu turned to face the teachers. "...Well, I hope you know that this is all your fault, Aizawa," Nezu said in a disappointed tone, "Because you had to go and expel Mr. Iida over something he didn't do."
"Something he didn't do?" Aizawa repeated, "What are you on-"
Aizawa was cut off when Nezu used his remote to play another video, this one showing Stain the Hero Killer, accompanied by the villains Dabi and Spinner, all of them cuffed and guarded in a police interrogation room. "So Mr. Stain," Detective Naomasa began as he started, "Are you at all aware of the recent murder of the pro hero Uwabami?"
Arching a wry eyebrow, Stain replied dryly, "Well I should like to think that I'm aware of the killing of that fake hero, seeing as how I'm the one who killed her."
Dabi, with a bit of a smirk on his face, said, "Spinner and I helped." The lizardman villain nodded in agreement.
Face palming, Aizawa in the audience said, "...I knew it. Tenya was innocent."
"Aha! I got to kill Uwabami!" Stain laughed, "She's one of the fakest heroes ever!"
Giving the group of three a serious look, Naomasa said, "...You all are telling the truth." Changing subject, the good detective asked, "Do any of you remember a student hero from UA trying to confront you that night?"
Stain would have folded his arms over his chest if he wasn't cuffed. Even so, he had a look of contemplation on his face. "...Yes, I remember that boy. He didn't do much before Dabi here knocked him out and sent him flying out of the alleyway with a foot slam to the gut." Dabi gave a confirming nod.
Coughing a bit forcefully, Naomasa said, "Yes, well that boy ended up being expelled from UA on suspicion of being the one who murdered Uwabami, as the Uwabami murder video that's been going around showed only him."
"Wait a minute," Spinner began in a surprised and mildly confused tone, "He was given the boot from hero school simply because he was seen in that video and Stain, Dabi and I weren't? Wow, who's the UA staff member who took a big sip of stupid juice before making that move?"
Throwing both of her hands into the air, Nemuri in the audience said, "Boom, called it!"
"Double points if they use vodka as the stupid juice," Sekijiro added with an amused smirk on his face before he started chuckling. Aizawa, and to a lesser extent Hizashi, did not look as amused as the blood hero and the eighteen only hero.
After the video ended, Nezu turned to face the teachers. "...Regardless, we're going to have to apprehend Mr. Iida because he not only committed a crime, but is very clearly on the decent into villainy." Sucking in a breath, Nezu added, "Of course, this all never would have happened if it wasn't for Aizawa jumping to wild conclusions and acting without at the very least using logic to try to figure things out."
Turning to face Aizawa, Sekijiro said, "Yeah. You not only ruined an innocent boy's dream to become a pro hero and continue on his family's legacy for nothing, but your move also had the result or prompting said boy to go spiraling into villainy! All because you thought he was a killer based on the flimsiest of evidence!"
"Did you not even care about how Iida was very clearly seen being kicked out of that alleyway in that video," Hizashi began, "Not to mention how he clearly had no blood on his person, which would make him very unlikely to be Uwabami's killer especially given how violently she was murdered and with bladed weapons?"
Holding a hand to his forehead, Aizawa replied, "Well in my defense Hizashi, you and Nemuri did drag me, Sekijiro and even Emi out partying the night before I decided to expel Iida. My head was still kind of swimming with all of what you had me drink." Giving Hizashi a stern look, the underground hero added with a hint of knowing sarcasm in his tone, "So forgive me if my thinking wasn't entirely clear when I made that decision."
"I expelled Iida while I was still intoxicated?!" Aizawa in the audience exclaimed as he gestured to the big theater screen, "What in the cinnamon toast fuck is this?! How could I have made such a big decision while my judgment was still very clearly heavily impaired?!"
Hizashi, holding a hand over his chin, said, "Hmm, vodka hasn't been confirmed as the drink in question yet..."
Sighing, Nezu said, "In any case Aizawa, you have a bit of cleaning up to do. You and Hizashi ought to go in and rescue Endeavor's daughter and Ms. Asui's little brother."
"Yes, Principal Nezu," Aizawa said as he and Hizashi turned to leave. However, they were stopped short by Nezu calling out to them.
The two men turned back around to see Nezu regarding them, with a bit more focus on Aizawa. "...At this point, there's no way Mr. Iida won't get into trouble," Nezu said in a mildly troubled and resigned tone, "But it never would have happened if it hadn't been for you jumping the gun. I really hope that nothing really bad ends up happening here, because regardless of what it could be, it would ultimately be your fault for making it occur in the first place."
The underground hero understood his role in causing the events that had taken place to occur in the first place. He also understood that anything bad happening to Fuyumi or Samidare, or hell even Tenya, was going to be all on him. Now he and Hizashi had to go and clean up a mess that, when Aizawa got down to it, was all of his making. Aizawa had a strong feeling that he was not going to enjoy what will happen after all of this ended.
Gesturing to the big screen, Aizawa in the audience said, "No. No I will not be enjoying what all is bound to happen after all of this mess ends. I can just tell."
"...I get the feeling that I won't be enjoying what my alternate self in this currently playing realm is going to be doing either, Aizawa-sensei..." Tenya remarked with a tone of embarrassed and dreading sense of worry.
...
Aizawa and Hizashi eventually made their way to the warehouse whose addresses was provided in the video that Tenya had sent to UA. "...Wow Sho, never thought you'd see the day where we'd have to confront a student that you expelled because said student decided to go full villain, huh?"
"In all honesty, I'm surprised it took this long for a former student of mine who I had expelled to decide to go villain," Aizawa remarked in an almost casual tone; he would have sounded fully casual, but he was a bit weighed down with guilt over what all his actions had led to. Aizawa led the way as he and Hizashi stormed the warehouse.
Inside, the two pro heroes saw Fuyumi and Samidare sitting in the chairs that they were respectively tied to; Fuyumi was still awake and panicking and Samidare was still fast asleep, most likely still unaware of the fact that he had been kidnapped by his older sister's former classmate.
Standing behind the two hostages was Tenya, wearing what was clearly his (admittedly rather hammy) villain costume. "So, come back to the scene of your crime, eh Aizawa?" Tenya said, sounding like a villain who was taunting the heroes.
"Listen, Iida," Aizawa began, a hint of pleading in his tone, "There's no need to go this far! We got it that it was actually Stain and some members of the League of Villains that had killed Uwabami! We know now that you're innocent!"
"But what my alternate self in the currently playing realm here doesn't seem to realize is that the damage has already been done," Aizawa in the audience remarked as he gestured to the theater screen, "There's no way everything will be sunshine and lollipops after this."
Where he sat in the audience, Tenya said in an embarrassed tome as he face palmed, "I still can't believe that I'm wearing such a horrible villain costume..."
Tenya looked very much angry at what he had been told. "...Oh, so now you don't think that I'm a murderer? Now you believe in my innocence? Now I've been made to realize that becoming the villain you oh so very clearly thought that I was had been a pointless plea for help?" The former UA student started to tear up. "...You made me throw my life away for nothing?"
Holding up a hand, Hizashi said, "Yo Iida, can I ask you something before we get down to whatever business that we have going on here?"
Shrugging as he struggled to hold back the tears, Tenya replied, "Sure. What is-" Tenya suddenly stopped short and simply stood there, as if in a daze. At that point, Shinso came out from the shadows that he was hiding in, lowering his Artificial Vocal Cords as he approached Aizawa and Hizashi.
Turning to face Aizawa, Hizashi remarked, "Wow, Sho. Your plan worked like a charm." Aizawa nodded in agreement, glad that he had thought of the plan to use Shinso in the rescue effort to save Fuyumi and Samidare. With the brainwashed Tenya being helpless, capturing him was rather on the easy side of things.
"That was incredibly risky, given that we brought more people than what the person holding the victims hostage said we could bring," Aizawa in the audience remarked, "The fact that we not only succeeded in saving the hostages but easily captured the culprit as easily as we did means we got extremely lucky.
"There's also the fact that it was me alone," Tenya began, "I had two hostages to keep track of, I was up against three opponents, and one of my opponents was Shinso who used his Artificial Vocal Cords to mimic Hizashi-sensei's voice while Hizashi-sensei himself only pretended to be talking in order to trick me. Also, I was provided no time to pull out a weapon, assuming that I even had one on hand."
...
Outside the warehouse, police and some pro heroes had gathered in order to help with the situation. Of course, there was not much for them to do aside from keeping the news media far away enough to allow for at least some measure of privacy as Tenya, fitted with a pair of quirk suppressing cuffs, was loaded into the back of a police van.
Standing outside of the open back of the police van were Aizawa and Hizashi, the former of the two looking very much guilty. "...I am so sorry that a moment of not thinking on my part had led to all of this, Iida," Aizawa said in a guilty tone.
Tenya, looking equally troubled, replied in a quiet tone of defeat, "...Well I'm sorry that I ended up putting a rather concerning stain on my family's proud history in heroics."
"Maybe Sho and I can try to set something up for you?" Hizashi offered, "Some sort of reform program that would let someone in your position turn back to the right side and end up being a pro hero anyway?"
A hint of hope entered Tenya's sad expression. "...That would be nice if it could happen."
"Consider it done," Aizawa replied right before Naomasa closed the doors to the back of the police van, right before before the van drove off. Aizawa and Hizashi just stood there, looking around as the kidnapping victims were received by their families and some pro heroes.
Fuyumi was wrapped up in a bear hug by Endeavor as he lifted her up off her feet, crying in joy to see his daughter safe and sound. As for Samidare, the sole Asui boy was hoping up and down in excitement as Tsuyu introduced him to Ryukyu; judging by the rather oversized (for him at least) Ryukyu hoodie that he wore, Samidare was a big fan of the dragoon hero, which was further backed by how excited he was to be introduced to her.
Sure, the hostages were safe and sound, and the kidnapper was easily subdued and arrested. But it all never would have happened in the first place if if hadn't been for Aizawa, still partly under the influence at the time, expelling Tenya based solely on the flimsiest of evidence.
Aizawa at that moment swore to never drink absinthe again.
FIN
Snapping his fingers, Sekijiro said, "Darn it, it wasn't vodka." A similarly mildly disappointed Nemuri slumped in her seat.
"I think it was rather cute how my little brother was shown being a big fan of Ryukyu kero," Tsuyu remarked, with the dragoon hero herself nodding in agreement.
Sighing, Aizawa said, "Well at least I know better than to make such big decisions while under the influence. I'd be the height of unprofessional otherwise."
Down in front of the big theater screen, Kotaro said to Tale, "...So it was absinthe? Huh, go figure. I'd have betted on vodka since that seemed to be a common guess. That or I would have gone for tequila, my drink of choice."
"Personally, I'm more of a mead man myself," Tale remarked.
END OF CHAPTER
Author's notes;
I did the Tenya chapter since I could tell some people wanted it. I also used what was suggested in the comment left by WhatAJoke, but I tweaked the idea somewhat to make the hit to Aizawa's gut have more impact.
Anyway, I'm thinking about tweaking the 'Shinso takes the place of the expelled student' formula in the next chapter. To do a test run, if you will, and see how it plays out. Aizawa's still going to expel one of the base twenty 1-A students regardless, so that won't change.
