Chapter 253
Sara was still unconscious when she was pushed into the CT scanner.
"Keep an eye on her vitals. We may need to tube her if breathing becomes depressed" said one of Sara's doctors.
The images slowly started appearing on the screen in front of the handsome older neurosurgeon's face. He frowned in concentration.
"There it is… subdural hematoma. Prep for surgery we need to drain that bleed immediately"

"Still no sign of her Captain. Are you sure she was even on the plane? Maybe the sister had a head injury and…" said one of the search team before being cut off by the Captain.
"You think one of the other casualties made it up that hill to make a 911 call?" the Captain snapped.
"No Sir… Sorry Sir. We'll keep going. Search team from the next county just got here. We'll be able to cover more ground"
"She's probably injured, unable to call out. You keep lots of light and check everywhere!" said the captain rubbing his arms up and down.
"Yes Sir" said the deputy and jogged away.

"Got her" Sax said before she even looked up at the monitor that showed some weak spikes.
"Close" breathed a resident and checked Kate's pupils.
"Call the OR, tell them we're on our way with an open chest and abdo"
"BPs not great 55 over 40" said a nurse.
"Hang another bag of saline. I want platelets, FFP and another unit of type specific on the rapid infuser. Where's those lab results?"
A nurse rattled off blood test results.
"Electrolytes are off. She needs platelets. Get a foley catheter in her so we can check her urine output" Sax instructed.
Two minutes later Sax started pushing Kate to the OR.
"Hang in there Morgan… I've got you" said Sax softly and touched Kate's face before turning away to go scrub.

Lieutenant Cameron Hart stopped in her tracks and turned to her team member Chris.
"You hear that?" she asked.
"Hear what?" he grunted.
"Shhhh" she said with her hand up.
She frowned and concentrated. The wind was blowing and she suddenly didn't hear it anymore.
"Fucking wind" she cursed.
"I know, I'm freezing my nuts off" Chris complained.
"Imagine how our victim is feeling" Cam said annoyed.
She lit around the area again with her powerful torch.
"Tegan! Call out" she yelled.
The wind died down for a few seconds.
"There it is again! Music. Where's it coming from?" Cam said, wondering if she was imagining things.
"Um… I can hardly hear it. Over there maybe?" said Chris.
"You do hear it! Let's go! Advise the captain of our change in direction" said Cam.
The music grew louder but it was still difficult to place where it was coming from. Cam knew she was moving in the right direction though.
Cam started desperately running in the direction of the music.
"Don't be a cowboy Hart. Hang on!" Chris screamed. He watched Cameron run away from him. Cam was a gorgeous specimen of a woman. Lean but curvy in the right places with an ass to die for. He shook himself back into the moment with the thought that Cam was very much off limits, in more way than one.
"Its here somewhere. Its close" said Cam turning around in a circle slowly.
"Tegan! Tegan call out" Chris shouted.
"Captain, this is Hart. I'm sending our location. I'm pretty sure she's around here somewhere" said Cam into her radio. She looked up from her GPS device for a second. In the darkness in the distance a feint light was blinking.
"Yes! There Chris!" she yelled and started jogging towards the feint light that seemed to come out of the ground.
"Careful…. Hang on… there we go. Big drop here" said Cam.
"Get the rope, secure me" said Cam, eager to get down the cliff face.
"Can you see her?"
"No not yet, but the music and the light is definitely coming from down there. Radio the team while I secure myself, you'll have to lower me down" said Cam.
"I'll go" said Chris.
"Not a chance" said Cam with a cocky grin and clipped on a harness.
Two minutes later Chris was lowering Cam down the cliff face into the ravine.
"Okay, I'm down. I see her!" Cam shouted up.
She jogged over and knelt next to Tegan. She removed her gloves and put her fingers in Tegan's neck.
"Come on" she whispered and closed her eyes concentrating.
"We've got a live one here! Pulse is slow and weak though" yelled Cam after searching for what felt like an eternity.
"Backup on the way" Chris yelled.
"I'm going to start a line and get some warm fluids running. She's definitely very hypothermic" Cam shouted and took her bag off her back. The headlight on her helmet would have to do for now.
She took Tegan's hand and struggled for at least two minutes to get the line in. She hung a bag of warmed saline that waited in insulated compartment in her bag. She opened it wide and threw it on her shoulder.
"Tegan, can you hear me? Squeeze my hand if you can hear me" she said loudly.
"Still unresponsive, GCS is 4. Chase those guys up we need to get her out of here" she yelled and removed a small oxygen cylinder from her bag. She carefully placed the mask over Tegan's mouth and nose.
Cam started cutting off Tegan's soaked through jacket, shirt and pants. She took a metallic rescue sheet out of her bag, unfolded it and put it over Tegan. She took her jacket off and draped it over Tegan's upper body.
"Throw down another rescue blanket" she yelled.
"Hang in there Tegan, we're going to get you out of here" she said as she injected some sort of drug into Tegan's IV line and started accessing the rest of her injuries.
"Chris… call in, get them to heat some more saline and packs at base" Cam yelled. She put her stethoscope on Tegan's back to listen for lung sounds. She shook her head.
"Okay Tegan… We're going to get you out of here. Just hang on" she said softly.
A/N: They found her! Let's hope they get her warm and to an ER soon! Notification emails have been a bit unreliable so check back to see that you didn't miss any chapters. As always - send feedback please, I love hearing from you.
