This chapter is mainly a rewrite of L is for Love, but with more emphasis on the Saluna pairing. This is also told from Luna's POV, rather than Sam's. I think it's important to focus a bit on Luna in this story, especially in the earlier parts.

Luna was in her room when...

"Emergency sibling meeting!" Lincoln shouted, "I call an emergency sibling meeting!"

All of the Loud siblings gathered in Lori and Leni's room.

Lincoln explained, "It's a love letter, and it's addressed to L Loud."

Lori read the letter, "dear L Loud, day after day, I hope and I pine. I'm too shy to come forward, but I wish you were mine."

Lynn asked, "wait, who's it for? L Loud could be any one of us."

Lori suggested, "clearly, the letter's for me, and it's from Bobby. I mean, duh, right?"

"No, not duh," Luan exclaimed, "that letter could be for any of us."

At this suggestion, Luna couldn't help but think. There's no way that could be from Sam, right? That had to just be wishful thinking, right? If only...

Luna was snapped back to reality by a question from Lori. "How do we figure out who it's really for?"

Lucy suggested something about signals, but Luna wasn't really paying attention. She could only think about Sam.

Later

The second letter had arrived. Luna handed the letter to Lori, who began to read.

"Roses are red, they brighten our town, like your sweet smile, and your hair, which is... brown?"

All the non-brunettes simultaneously said, "dang it."

Lincoln summed up the situation. "So, the secret admirer contest is down to Luna, Luan, Lynn, and Lisa."

Luan, Lisa, and Lynn all cheered, but Luna didn't.

Leni noticed this. "Luna, why aren't you cheering?"

Luan added, "Yeah. And come to think of it, you never told us the signal you gave Sam."

Luna sadly replied, "That's 'cause I didn't give one. The more I thought about it, the more I realized...Sam's way out of my league, dudes."

"No way. That's not true," Lincoln reassured Luna.

Lori added, "yeah, Luna, you are totes still in this."

Lucy then proceed to say something about tokens. Again, Luna wasn't paying much attention, she was too busy thinking. Could Sam really feel the same way?"

Luna waited on the bus for Sam. She planned to give her guitar pick to Sam as some kind of token, but at the last minute, she chickened out. "Dream on Lunes," she told herself. "You're the owner of a lonely heart."

The siblings once again met, this time in the living room. It turned out that Luna was the only one of the four who bailed.

Lola grew angry and grabbed Luna's shirt collar. "Some of us blondes would kill to still be in the running! Don't you quit now!"

Leni rushed in. "O-M-Gosh, you guys! The secret admirer is the mailman! He just handed me this letter! I don't feel the same way about him, so I let him down gently." She handed the third letter to Lori.

Lori opened and read the letter. "Dear L. Loud, Here's a third letter, 'cause I'm still feeling skittish, I dig your sweet sounds, and love of all things British."

Lincoln shouted, "Luna! It's definitely you."

Lori said, "guys, Lucy was right about what happens next! Listen! I think it's time we put love on the menu. Meet me tonight at Banger's & Mosh, the British eatery and rock venue."

Luna gellefully said, "whoa! This is really happening! What do I wear?"

That night

The Loud siblings were at the restaurant.

Luna nervously told them, "guys, I don't see Sam anywhere."

Lana suggested, "maybe Sam's hidden behind that dork in the big British hat."

"Whoa!" Lynn exclaimed, "that dork is sitting with Mom! Oh. It's Dad."

"Kids? What're you guys doing here?" Lynn Sr asked.

Lincoln explained, "Luna got a secret admirer letter from Sam telling her to meet here."

Lana added, "we're here for moral support."

"And dessert," Lola added

Rita explained, "oh, honey, I'm so sorry. There's been a mix-up. That letter was meant for your father."

"Wait. Sam likes Dad?" Leni asked in confusion

"No, sweetie. I sent the letter."

Lynn Sr explained, "secret admirer letters are kind of our thing. It's how we met."

Rita told the kids, "back in the day, I had a wicked crush on your father. Every morning, at my crossing guard job, I'd listen for his melodious voice, and when he talked to me in that cute accent he picked up from his semester in England, I'd swoon. But I was too afraid to speak to him because I thought he was out of my league. So, I started slipping notes in his pocket as he passed by. By my third note, I got up the nerve to ask him to meet me here, and my boldness paid off, because here we are, celebrating the 20th anniversary of that first date."

Lynn Sr told her, in his signature British accent, "Best day of my life, love."

"Luna, I'm sorry that letter wasn't for you." Rita finished, "I hope you're not too disappointed."

Luna explained, "Well...I was at first, but now that I've heard your story, I'm totally inspired. If you took a risk with Dad, why can't I take a risk with Sam? Why are we sitting around waiting for them to come to us? We should go to them!"

That night

Luna took out a piece of paper and began to write.

When I walk by you, I wonder if I will ever have the courage to tell you how a truly feel. When we hang out together, I always wonder if you feel the same way as me. I've never felt this way about anyone. I know you probably don't feel the same way, and I understand. I just needed to tell you how a felt. Even if you don't know who I am now, all I can hope is that someday you will.

-your secret admirer

The next day

Luna took out the letter that she had poured her heart into. She looked around nervously, and slipped it into Sam's locker. She watched as Sam found the letter, read it, and smiled. Luna had hope.
