If Aizawa expelled…
Chapter sixteen: Breaking trends with a bake-off
The audience summoned by the Realmcrafter Talespinner69 had just finished watching realm number fifteen of the show where Aizawa expels one different student from class 1-A in each realm and what follows as consequence. Since fifteen realms had been cleared, that means that the audience was three-quarters of the way done.
"Woo! We're almost done!" Nemuri exclaimed as she pumped both of her fists into the air.
Nodding in agreement, Aizawa remarked, "Well it would be nice to be done with the current show, especially since I'm not exactly comfortable with how I'm frequently put on the spot in a lot of them."
"Well hey now, some of them have been pretty good," Hizashi said.
"Like the one where my asshole father bullied and beat my youngest sibling into committing suicide, you jackass?" Dabi snipped at Hizashi, with the blue flame villain's snippet reminding both Todoroki and Endeavor that Dabi is actually the long thought to be dead Toya. Dabi then turned to face Endeavor and flipped him off.
Sucking in a cringing breath, Hizashi remarked, "Yeah, I'll admit that some of the realms that we've viewed so far weren't exactly a cup of tea for everyone here."
Gesturing to the big screen, Yaoyorozu said, "Well I'd say me and all of my classmates don't like the realms in which we're respectively expelled, given that we're, you know, expelled in those realms!" Flumping back into her seat, Yaoyorozu added as she folded her arms over her chest, "I really didn't like the realm where Aizawa-sensei expelled me."
Clapping his hands where he stood next to Kotaro in front of the big theater screen, Tale called out, "Hey, we about got the next realm ready to play?"
"I think that it'll be Kyoka next," Mirko remarked, "Given that we've had Aizawa's other five girls all in a row so far, and it would make sense to do Kyoka next since it'll finish off the girls. Then we can clear the remaining boys."
Nodding in agreement, Tale said, "Yeah, that would be a logical assessment to make. But since the realms are set to play in a randomized order, you never know who will be next."
Gesturing to where the class 1-A students sat, Endeavor remarked, "It's bound to be that punk rock girl! Hell, I'm so sure that it'll be her that if I turn out to be wrong, I'll allow Toya to blast me with his blue fire!"
"I disabled quirks for the most part," Tale pointed out, "But he can give you one good swift kick to the nuts." Endeavor, so sure of himself, nodded in agreement and consent as realm number sixteen began to play.
...
(If Aizawa expelled Rikido Sato)
Turning to face Endeavor, Dabi began with the most amused of grins, "Shall I kick you in your coin purse now or later?"
"Save it for after this realm ends, please," Tale asked dryly, drawing agreeing nods out of both Dabi and a very worried looking Endeavor.
Over where he sat, Sato remarked, "So I'm next on the chopping block, huh? I wonder what I did here to warrant Aizawa-sensei wanting to expel me."
Sighing in a resigned tone, Aizawa remarked, "Nothing that I'll agree with, that's for sure."
Over at UA one well enough day, Aizawa was walking to his classroom as he was accompanied by Hizashi. "...Wait, you mean to tell me that you expelled the Sato boy?" Hizashi asked.
The underground hero nodded once in the affirmative. "Yeah, I did."
Shrugging to show that he was stumped, Hizashi asked, "Well what the hell did he do?"
"He ate in class and it was a distraction," Aizawa replied.
"I don't think that it would exactly be an expulsion-worthy offence if you ask me," Aizawa in the audience commented while gesturing to the big screen, "Especially given that the right foods actually help Sato, given how his quirk works."
Shrugging his shoulders, Hizashi said, "It would have to have been a REALLY big thing that Sato was eating to be distracting enough for Sho to give Sato the axe."
Hizashi, with a confused look on his face, said, "...Really? Given how eating the right foods actually helps Sato with his quirk, I'd say that-"
"It was a seven layer grand mega-cake," Aizawa said dryly as he cut Hizashi off, "And he ate it all on one sitting, while the rest of the class watched on and Kirishima, Sero, Kaminari and Mina were even cheering Sato on as he ate the whole damn thing. The sight of Sato eating that cake was actually rather disturbing on certain levels. Seriously, I think that at one point his jaw unhinged like a snake's."
Hizashi, who was now wearing a wide-eyed look of shocked surprise on his face, looked to be at a loss for words. "...Umm...wow. That's...that's just...wow."
"Okay, I can't eat that much cake in one sitting," Sato in the audience stated, "Hell, I doubt anyone can."
"Even I can't eat that much cake in one sitting," Fat Gum remarked, "And I'm me!"
Turning to face Ryukyu, Mirko asked, "Hey Ryukyu, can you do it if you go into your dragon form beforehand?"
Shrugging, Ryukyu replied, "I don't know and I honestly don't care to try."
Nodding in agreement with Hizashi's disbelief, Aizawa said, "Well anywho, we need to get to the classroom. We need to go over with my students about that whatever it is that you said that you wanted their help with."
Letting out a whistle, Hizashi remarked, "Uhh, yeah. It'll be something that...that has a bit of bad timing given recent developments."
Ignoring the slight hint of concern in Hizashi's tone, Aizawa entered the class 1-A homeroom, where his remaining nineteen students were waiting. ...Well, eighteen of the original twenty students of class 1-A were there; Sato of course wasn't because he had been expelled, and for some odd reason Mineta was missing and class 1-B student Kinoko Komori had seemingly taken the height-challenged student.
"Wait, why is Kinoko in class 1-A now?" Itsuka in the audience asked as she gestured to the big theater screen.
Sekijiro, his arms folded over his chest, said, "That's what I'd like to know."
"Alright brats, any questions before we kick off?" Aizawa asked his class.
Raising a hand, Yaoyorozu said, "Umm, yeah, why is Komori here?"
Gesturing to Kinoko, Aizawa said, "You can thank Sekijiro's boy Monoma for that. You see, Principal Nezu was apparently very much worried about what he saw as a lack of camaraderie between this class and class 1-B due to Momoma's blatant dislike for all of you. To that end, Nezu started up a program where once per week, one student each from 1-A and 1-B would switch homerooms for a week."
"I guess that Komori is the first student from 1-B to be in our class?" Tenya asked as he raised a hand, "And Mineta to class 1-B?" Aizawa nodded in the affirmative to this.
"Hmm, that does sound like a very interesting concept indeed," Nezu in the audience said, "And there is a point on how mister Monoma's hostility towards Aizawa's students is something that needs to be addressed and resolved."
"But why in the name of God did we get the perverted sinner of all people first?!" Ibara asked while gesturing to the big theater screen, "Couldn't we have gotten someone of better morality like Midoriya instead?"
Izuku, with a surprised look on his face, replied, "Umm...wow. I didn't know that some people held me in such high regard. Thanks, Shiozaki." Ibara, with a warm smile on her face, nodded to Izuku in acknowledgement.
"Indeed, but we'll discuss this more later," Aizawa said, "Because Hizashi here has something that he wishes to go over with you all."
Sucking in a cringing breath, Hizashi said, "Umm, yeah. I did want to go over something with you kids, but what I want to get all of you in on has some rather bad timing, considering the fact that Sho here told me about how he had expelled the Sato boy as the two of us were on the way over here."
Holding up a hand, Yaoyorozu asked, "Why? What is it that you need us for, Hizashi-sensei?"
Putting his hands together, Hizashi said as he pointed his joined hands as the class, "I need your help with appealing to some fancy bigwig who's threatening to shut down the radio station that I work at part time, and said bigwig is known for having both something of a sweet tooth and very high standards. I was going to ask all of you to pull out all the stops in baking up a storm, although I was kinda heavily banking on Sato."
"Wait, so Sato is needed to help save the radio station that Hizashi works for part time?" Aizawa in the audience said as he gestured to the big theater screen, "Seems like a rather convoluted reason for me expelling Sato to not be a good idea if you ask me."
"No! Not the radio station!" Hizashi exclaimed, "The kids have got to save it!"
Scoffing, Mina said, "Yeah, no fooling. Things would have gone way smoother if Aizawa-sensei had not decided to boot Sato just because he wanted to break a world record!"
"He was being a distraction!" Aizawa shot back.
"And you were being a party pooper," Hizashi commented to the underground hero, "But more on that later." To the whole of class 1-A, Hizashi said, "With our ace in the hole gone, we're going to need to power through and hope like hell our efforts will save the day, save the radio station!" The whole of the class cheered as they all pumped fists into the air, eager to help Hizashi save the radio station that he worked for.
...
And so, after Hizashi was able to shanghai the kitchen in Lunch-Rush's cafeteria, he got Aizawa's students right to work on attempting to craft the finest baked sweets that they could manage without Sato being there to be the star of the hour. The class was in multiple groups, and one such group was Bakugo, Kirishima and temporary classmate Kinoko. "I still don't know why Monoma is so hostile towards you guys," Kinoko commented as she mixed a few ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Scoffing, Bakugo replied, "Because he's a squirrelly little moron hopped up on at least a few gallons of pure espresso and a hate-boner for our class."
"I still don't know why Monoma's so hella un-manly towards 1-A all the time," Kirishima said, "I mean, does he just plain not like us because we just so happened to have gotten a little public attention? Would he rather that 1-A gets nothing while 1-B gets everything? Is that what he seriously wants?"
"Yes," Juzo in the audience said dryly, drawing chuckles out of most of his classmates as well as most of class 1-A.
Sighing, Sekijiro said, "Yeah, I really need to go over a few things with Monoma, it seems."
"Oh come on!" Monoma exclaimed, "I have every-" Monoma was cut off when Itsuka bopped him on the back of his head, making him shut up.
Sighing, Kinoko said, "I'm really sorry that Monoma is so inconsiderate towards you and all of your classmates, Eijiro. It's especially bad since me and some of my other classmates have no problem with you guys and wish things weren't so bad between our classes because of what all Monoma has done to aggravate you all."
Nodding in understanding, Kirishima said, "Yeah, I'd like it if I could chill with some of your classmates more frequently without having to worry about the squirrelly guy that Baku-bro was just describing as such. I mean, me and Tetsutetsu are pretty tight."
"I think mudboy whatshisname wants to hang more with Deku," Bakugo commented.
"You mean Juzo," Kinoko corrected, "And yes, he does think Izuku is pretty cool."
"Juzo wants to be friends with me in this realm but feels he can't because of Monoma?" Izuku in the audience said in a surprised tone.
Shrugging, Juzo remarked, "Actually, now that it's been brought up, I personally wouldn't mind being chill with you, Midoriya."
Looking at Kinoko and seeing the slight blushing on her face, Kirishima said, "Hey, you okay? Your face seems a bit red. Are you sick, Kinoko?"
Briskly shaking her head, Kinoko said, "Oh, I'm not sick. It's...it's just that there's also one bit of someone in my class being...being in love with someone in 1-A."
"Oh, really?" Kirishima replied, "Well do you know who-" The red haired boy was cut off when Kinoko placed her hands on his shoulders then lifted herself up a bit so that she could kiss him right on his left cheek.
"Boom! There's Kirishima and Shrooms being an item again!" Bakugo in the audience exclaimed in amusement as he clapped his hands together. As for Kirishima and Kinoko, they were both a bit embarrassed by the scene, with Kinoko shrinking down into her seat as she covered her face while crying out.
"I think that they'd make a cute couple, actually," Itsuka remarked, looking amused by the idea of Kirishima and Kinoko being together.
Backing down, Kinoko, with a blush on her face, said to Kirishima, "Sorry if that came as a shock, but I...I just had to do it, Eijiro. Because I'm in love with you."
Before Kirishima could speak, Bakugo gave him a good-natured slap on the back as he offered a laugh. "Well hot damn, Kirishima! Way to go in catching a girl's eye!"
"I saw all that and yeah, I have to agree," Hizashi said as he walked over to Bakugo's group, "But the sugar she gave you ain't the kind you need to use right now!" Thrusting a four pound bag of sugar into Kirishima's hands, Hizashi said to the whole group, "Keep making baked sweets until this sugar that I gave you just now runs out! We have a radio station to save, damn it!"
"You know this wouldn't be happening if that buff fellow in Eijiro's class wasn't expelled," Kinoko said, "From what I got from the girls in 1-A, that buff fellow could have very easily saved the day because of how good of a baker he was."
"Sato is indeed a very good baker," Mina in the audience said, drawing nods of agreement out of the other class 1-A girls.
Scoffing bitterly, Mineta said, "Yeah, which is part of why Sato won that dorm room showcase contest. You girls were bribed by his cake."
"I've noticed that this supposed dorm room showcase contest has cropped up a few times," Aizawa remarked, "Aside from the girls declaring Sato the winner because they were bribed by his cake, which I would honestly consider unfair to the others taking part, not to mention the bit of Hagakure being inconsiderate towards Kirishima with her comment about his room, is there anything else that occurred that wasn't exactly right?"
"Does Fumi being pushed away from his dorm room door," Dark Shadow began, "Because he actually did not want to participate in the contest, by some of the girls who had everyone see his room anyway, count as something that 'wasn't exactly right'?"
"Yes," Aizawa replied, instantly sounding very cross while some of the 1-A girls suddenly became rather nervous with a touch of feeling guilty.
Shrugging, Hizashi said, "Yeah, Sho did a lot to sabotage my hopes of saving the radio station. But that doesn't mean I'm throwing in the towel!" Hizashi then proceeded to go around the kitchen and trying to motivate everyone into giving the effort their all. Kirishima seemed to have found some manner of inspiration in Hizashi's passion to save the radio station, and Kinoko found inspiration in Kirishima being inspired. And so it was that all of (what was left of) class 1-A proceeded to turn the kitchen into a bakery.
...
The moment of truth came when Aizawa, a nervous Hizashi, and class 1-A had all of the prepared baked sweets ready for sampling by the bigwig who held in their hands the fate of the radio station that Hizashi worked for. The limo that said bigwig was riding in pulled up to the front entry gate of UA, and came to a stop before the driver got out and walked around to open the door for the bigwig.
The bigwig turned out to have been Lady President of the Hero Public Safety Commission. "Well I don't have all day," Lady President said, "This had better be worth my time."
"Not to worry, Miss Prez," Hizashi assured, "The kids here will surprise you for sure with their culinary creations!"
Hizashi in the audience, with his arms over his chest, said, "I swear, Sho. If you expelling Sato in this realm leads to the radio station getting shut down, I'll never forgive you."
"It's happening in an alternative realm, not for real," Aizawa pointed out.
"...Oh," Hizashi remarked, "But the point remains."
Over time, Lady President tried a bit of what every group had made. It turns out that some of the 1-A students, even though they aren't anywhere near the level of Sato, are still dab hands in the realm of baking sweets. But they're still nowhere near Sato's level, and as such, Lady President was ultimately neutral at best. It wasn't enough to save the radio station.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Hizashi cried skywards as he fell to his knees after Lady President left UA after she gave a not good enough judgment.
As Hizashi mourned the loss of the radio station he worked for part time, Mina said, "Hey wait, I just had an idea." Turning to face Yaoyorozu, Mina asked, "Hey Yaomomo, why didn't you get some of the chefs who work for your family to help out here? I mean, your family has a bunch of people working for you guys because you're rich, so you're bound to have at least one chef at a level good enough to be able to make baked sweets good enough to have helped to save the radio station that Hizashi-sensei works for."
Yaoyorozu, after smacking herself in the forehead, said, "D'oh! I can't believe that I didn't think of doing that!"
"Hey, maybe you can use your connections to save the radio station anyway," Kyoka suggested.
Gently shaking her head, Yaoyorozu replied, "I can't because my mother has a personal grudge against Hizashi-sensei based on this one time she saw him unintentionally make an autistic child freak out."
As Hizashi sighed in a resigned and defeated tone, Aizawa looked on with a look of guilt in his face. Sure, he had reason to expel Sato, but if he knew that expelling the strong sugar-lover would have led to this, then at a minimum he would have waited until after Sato had saved the radio station to punish him for being a distraction in class with eating that seven layer grand mega-cake. Expelling Sato after saving the radio station would have been out of the question, for obvious reasons, so a form lecture on when and where to do and not do certain things would have been the way to go.
FIN
As realm number sixteen finished playing and the big theater screen went to black, Aizawa said, "Yeah, expelling Sato right after he just did something like save the radio station that Hizashi works for would have had horrible timing, not to mention make me come off as looking rather bad, all things considered."
"Yeah, I think that part of why the various expulsions we've seen so far have been so bad is due to bad timing," Tale agreed, "But more on that later. For now..."
Tale held his right hand up and spun it in the air a bit. Dabi and Endeavor glowed a bit before they were both teleported from their seats to the stage in front of the big theater screen. Before Endeavor could ask what had happened, Dabi gave him a good swift kick to the coin purse, making the flame hero fall to his knees as he covered his wounded holy land.
As everyone laughed at Endeavor while Tale teleported him and Dabi back to their seats, Tale said, "I'm a man of my word."
END OF CHAPTER
Author's notes;
Yeah, Sato and the others present a bit of a challenge to me, but never let it be said that I won't meet that challenge head on. Anyway, the next chapter shouldn't be too long, all things taken into account. Oh, btw, have a happy Thanksgiving everybody.
