Klaus and I left the ball when the last trickle of people had left. His hand was in mine as we climbed into the limo. When we had settled ourselves on the leather backseat, Klaus turned to ask me a question.
"If you have broken up with Tyler, does that mean that sharing a bedroom with me isn't as revolting as it was earlier?" He asked me, his famous sly grin on his face. I rolled my eyes at his remark, but answered it anyway.
"Sharing a bedroom with you is going to be fine. It doesn't really repulse me anymore. We are just not going to share a bed, understood?" I said, and Klaus nodded at my request. I had chosen him because I had feelings for him, but I still didn't think it was the right time to sleep in the same bed.
"Has all my stuff been moved to your room?" I asked Klaus. I really hoped it had. I was ready to go home and crash. It had been a long day filled with discussion, arguments, and confessions. I needed a nice long nap.
"I can tell you right now that my sister has already had your belongings moved into my room, that way her and Matt can have their own little haven. So don't worry about it, it's done." Klaus said, reassuring me. I nodded and looked out the limos window, looking at all the other cars on the highway.
We drove back to the villa in silence, partially because I was too tired to even say a word. It had to be 1 o'clock in the morning by the time we pulled into the driveway. Carefully I drug myself up at the entrance stairs and pulled open the heavy wooden front door. Klaus stayed behind to pay the driver, so he didn't follow me. I was quiet as I walked up the spiral staircase to the second floor, hoping not to wake Rebekah and Matt on the other side of the house. I had no idea where Klaus's room was so I just waited for him by the house east side hallway. After about 10 minutes of complete agony of wanting to be in bed, Klaus finally trudged upstairs.
"You know you didn't have to wait for me, sweetheart. I'm sure that you are extremely tired." He said, and I just sighed. My eyes were about to fall out of my head I was so exhausted. But of course, Klaus had to throw in a little bit of his humor to every sentence that he spoke to me. I'm not saying that I didn't like it, but it wasn't really funny right then.
"Will you please just take me to your bedroom? My feet are killing me in these heels, and I am about to fall over. You know this house better than I do, so just please take me there." I complained, and Klaus just gave me one of his signature smiles. Surprising me, Klaus scooped me up into his arms and vampire speeded me down the hall to his bedroom.
Without a word, Klaus opened up the door to his bedroom. He was the first to go in, and I followed. My eyes were amazed by the sights that I saw. The room was painted a dark green color, the color of pine trees. The lower halves of the walls were paneled in dark oak, making a very masculine feel. The Furniture was shaded a deep mahogany, the bed massive and in the center of the room. Painting and drawing supplies were scattered all over his desk, and I could see the two doors that lead into his closet and his bathroom. I also noticed a very plush leather couch.
"I guess you'll be sleeping on the couch?" I said, motioning to the piece of furniture. Klaus looked at me strangely, and shook his head.
"I think that's where neither of us are sleeping. I hate to go against your wishes, love, but I think we are going to end up sharing a bed. Don't worry, I don't bite." Klaus said, and started to remove his tux jacket. But I stopped him.
"Okay Mr. Big Shot, we are not to the undressing phase. So if you do not mind, will you please undress somewhere else?" I said, motioning around the room. Klaus looked at me strangely once more, and rolled his eyes.
"How about you go a change in the closet, all your clothes are in there. Do you need me to unzip your dress for you?" Klaus asked a hint of a devilish grin on his face. I nodded solemnly and turned so he could unzip the back of my dress. I felt the cold touch his fingers as he held my shoulders lightly. He took the metal zipper in his hand, and pulled it down the length of my back.
I heard the gasp as he saw the back of my bra, and I quickly turned away. Raising the skirts my dress, I quickly hurried to the closet and closed the door. The inside smelled of him. I walked over to the mounted full length mirror, and began to undo my hair. Placing the hairpins and clips I had used in my clutch, I let my hair fall out of the intricate braids I had put them in. I stripped out of the gown, and placed it on a hanger. I searched around for my pajamas, and I couldn't find any. Resorting to the last idea I could think of, I turned the Klaus's side of the closet. I grabbed one of his dress shirts off the hanger, and slipped it on. The fabric smelled of a deep mossy musk scent that always carried from Klaus.
Buttoning it to my neck, I then carefully walked towards the closet door and cracked it open to peek out. Klaus has back turned to me and he was shirtless. Not wanting him to notice my presence I quickly slipped out of the closet and snuck into the bathroom. It was made of dark marble, and I instantly saw my make-up removing wipes sitting next to the sink. I snatched one out of the pack, and quickly cleaned my face of any residue. I also picked up a ponytail holder from the bowl that had been set next to the sink. I pulled my hair into quick topknot, and looked in the mirror. I saw a very scantily dressed girl, and I instantly knew that Klaus was going to enjoy the view.
Stepping out into the bedroom, I carefully walked to Klaus and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around to look at me, but did not look at my face. Instead his eyes trailed down to his dress shirt carefully placed over my undergarments. I saw bit of shock in his eyes, and I just laughed.
"Which side of the bed do you want?" I asked, and Klaus shrugged his shoulders.
"I will take the right side. Okay with you?" I said, and he just nodded. I think he was still speechless from me coming out in one of his dress shirts, but it wasn't my fault I couldn't find anything else. I walked over to the large bed and pulled myself onto it. Pulling back the grey silk sheets, I slid under them. Laying my head on the feather filled pillows I closed my eyes.
It was a while before I felt the weight of Klaus slip in beside me. I felt the covers shift, and before I knew it, Klaus had his arm around my waist and was pulling me to him under the sheets. Soon I was parallel to his body, one hand on my waist and one on my shoulder. He was holding me so tightly, it seemed like I was the only thing anchoring him to earth. He whispered something in my ear.
"I'm just warning you, love. You chose me, which means I'm never letting go of you. I will never let you slip from my grasp, no matter what. When I gave you the choice between choosing to stay in Mystic Falls or come with me, you chose me. I meant it when I said I will be your last love. You are the light I need Caroline. I intend to love you until the last breath. Always and forever, Caroline Forbes, I will choose you." He spoke to me, ending with the words that I had pledged to him. I immediately whispered back, "Always and forever."
And with that, I fell asleep in his arms. Dreaming of what tomorrow would bring, and how in this world I could ever get the get this relationship to work. But it could wait until the morning. Right now, I just wanted to be with Nik.
