A/N:
Happy 2015! I hope you all had a wonderful New Years Eve Celebration. It's time for a new chapter and a fresh start for my writing. There are a few questions that need answering, so here we go:
Will Haley make an appearance in Rome?
I hope to include both Elijah and Haley in Europe, but it really depends if it fits in the story line. I really like the pregnancy angle, and it is a very big issue, so yes; I will most likely be including Haley and Elijah in Rome if not in the next couple chapters.
Why is Caroline supporting Klaus in everything?
I have a plot twist down the way, but here is a hint: Rebekah puts it in Caroline's drink to make her realize.
How many chapters will this story be?
Planning the length for this story is impossible, because I am writing on and off, but I do adore writing this. Depends on my heart, to be honest; the story will end when it does, so I hope you keep reading.
Why is Caroline suddenly so in love with the idea of Klaus?
Once again, the PLOT TWIST IS COMING. Rebekah will be the culprit.
Why does Klaus not want his child?
We all know our Original hybrid. He will eventually melt, but only with the help of a special blonde vampire.
Is Tyler coming into the story?
Our little Hybrid friend will make an appearance, but not in Rome.
Are Caroline and Klaus going to go anywhere else?
They will be staying Rome for the summer, but that's doesn't mean that they won't be meeting up in the fall….
So I hope that cleared up some loose ends. Special thanks to .50, Sassy Minho, TheChicaChic, CarolineMikaelson35, Klarolinelover99, and musician13th for following and favoring. And even more special thanks to SweetyK, lateVMlover, and blueberry55 for reviewing. Love to all my readers, and enjoy this chapter.
Cheers,

CHAPTER 19: Burns of Care
DAY OF THE TEA AT XANDER'S
"Don't you think that this is a little revealing for tea?" I asked, rubbing the soft cerulean blue satin fabric of the skirt between my fingers. I heard Nik grunt from behind me, and I turned to find him staring at a sketchbook, completely out of it.
"Nik, I mean it! How am I going to impress some snotty rich vampire of Rome, when I can barely get the guy I like to pay attention while I'm trying on dresses?" I whined, and Nik placed his sketchbook on his desk. Getting up, he walked behind me and gathered me in a bear hug.
"I think you look beautiful, and you've definitely impressed me. And I'm richer than Xander." He whispered in my ear, making me giggle. He pecked me on the cheek and let me go, walking back to his desk chair.
"I think this is fine." I boasted, with a new sense of confidence. Nik laughed, and I strolled back into the closet. Rooting around in the rack of shoes that I owned, I located the Mirabella Dexa heel I was looking for. Unsnapping the button, I slipped the heel onto my foot and snapped the button back. I did the same with other.
Standing up, I walked to the other side of the closet and grabbed a white lace clutch, and made my way back into the bedroom. On the dresser I selected a platinum silver bracelet with an infinity symbol, and a pair of flower shaped sapphire earrings. Turning to Nik when I was done, I cleared my throat to break him from his sketchbook.
"Yes?" he asked when I got his attention. Motioning to my dress, I pointed at the closet for him to get dressed. He raised his hands in an innocent surrender, but retreated in fear of my fashion criticism.
Laughing, I walked to bathroom to do my hair. I plugged in my straight iron, and as it heated I did my makeup. Neutral eye shadow, a brown eyeliner, and minimal mascara created an innocent look to match the simplicity of my dress. I took ten minutes to straighten, spray, and perfect. When I was done, I unplugged the iron and turned off the lights. When I was closing the door, I was tapped on the shoulder.
I was greeted by the vision of Nik, dressed in freshly iron khakis, a blue and white pinstriped dress shirt, and a white sports coat. He looked like a badass golf player, minus the clubs and golf shoes. He took my hand, and led me out of the house and to the silver Lexus out front. We both slipped on our aviators, and we were off.
We had passed the outskirts of the city about thirty minutes ago, and were no driving along a very well kept neighborhood drive. Decorative floral strips lined the driveway; the streets were made of a reddish cobblestone. Soon a gate came into sight, and Nik rolled down the window to meet the guard.
"Name please, Sir?" the guard asked, and Nik gave him a smile and muttered the name Mikaelson. The guard nodded in recognition of the name, and the gate rose for us to enter.
Nik drove slowly until a three story white house was visible from between the trees. He took a left turn into the cul- de-sac style drive, and parked in front of the house. Removing the keys from the ignition and opened the driver's side door. Nik then came and opened the door for me, being a typical gentleman. I nodded thanks, and he closed the door for me. Taking his arm, we walked up the front stairs together.
When we arrived at the front door, Nik knocked on the door lightly. It was a moment before the door was opened by a young woman who looked around thirty, with a bob of chestnut hair and piercing green eyes. She was dressed in a silk shirt and a pair of charcoal trousers, and I swear I saw a pair of Louboutins peeking out from beneath the hem.
"Niklaus, so good to see you after all these years; Xander is waiting for us in the sun room. Please come in." the woman said sweetly, her voice clinking like crystal at every syllable. Nik motioned for me to follow, so I did.
Stepping into the house, I was stuck with the grandeur of everything. A glass chandelier the size of a small car hung in foyer, illuminating everything. A double staircase like at the villa, except made of light colored wood. I noticed that my mouth had slipped slightly open with astonishment, so I quickly closed it. Nik grinned at my surprise, and I had to hold back to smacking his arm.
The woman continued to the back of the house, where we were greeted by a window covered room, like an indoor greenhouse. Seated at the table was a stocky built man with brown hair, who turned to face us when we entered. His face immediately lit up with the sight of Nik.
"Niklaus, my dear friend, welcome!" he welcomed us, and Nik smiled.
"May I introduce my wife, Cecelia?" Xander presented his wife, and Nik kissed her hand politely.
"Xander, this is who you have heard about; Miss Caroline Forbes, from Mystic Falls, Virginia, and my traveling partner of the summer." Nik motioned to me, and Xander greeted me like Nik had greeted Cecelia.
"Nice to meet you Miss Forbes and I do hope you are enjoying Rome." Xander said, and I smiled.
"It has been a wonderful experience, thank you." I responded politely, and Nik took my hand for support. Obviously I was showing that I was nervous.
"Shall we have tea?" Cecelia asked, and we all sat down. Immediately, a petite maid rolled in a tea cart laden with a tea pot, cups, cream and sugar. There was also an array of treats on the second shelf. The girl placed a cup in front of us all, and then she poured us all tea. Placing the food, cream, and sugar on the table, she then retreated back through the sun room's door. Taking a sip of the tea, I instantly spat it out, the vervain burning my lips. I coughed until the quivering stopped, and Nik was suddenly at my side.
"What the hell, Xander?" Nik shouted, sniffing the cup of tea I had just drunken from. His nostrils flared at the scent of the hated herb.
"We wanted to know if she was really a vampire, and not one of your human playthings." Cecelia said simply, and I looked at the woman in horror. Had she really just burned me to see if I was a vampire?
"Niklaus, we have seen you go overboard with the whores over the years, and just wanted to make sure you weren't falling back into similar habits." Xander defended himself and his wife. Nik scoffed at turned to check his cup. Poking his finger in, it was free of vervain.
"It was powdered in the bottom of only her cup." Cecelia confirmed, and I exhaled sharply. I had been tested to see if was a whore, and I was about to strangle the smartass woman in front of me.
"I am a vampire, as you can see. But I still have to temper and hormones of a teenage girl!" I screeched, and tried to dive over the table. Nik caught me and held me to his chest, anger flowing through my veins. I had tried to be sophisticated to impress these people, and they had almost poisoned me.
"I apologize for the confusion, Miss Forbes. May we continue on a better note?" Xander asked politely, as if nothing had happened. I snarled at him, and stalked out of the room. I heard Nik yell some deep profanities and follow behind me.
I stomped down the front steps, my strength breaking one of my heels on the stone step. I grunted as I fell, and hit my head on the stone. The last thing I saw was Nik speeding to rescue me before it came to complete darkness.
A/N:
Looks like Caroline is being tested for Klaus's past. So how did you like angry Caroline? I hope you enjoyed this chapter as much as I did writing it, and I'm so sorry about the cliff hanger! But I have to have some element of suspense, don't I? And remember, REVIEW, REVIEW, and REVIEW. More reviews, faster update. Have a great day/evening!
