A/N
Oh gods, Hi guys I know its been awhile, but I promise I have a good reason. I found out that we were moving two weeks ago, and we just got settled in the new apartment, so I haven't had much time to write. Also my ballet school closed for in-person teaching so I was really upset and depressed about that.
I also had really bad writers block and couldn't figure out what to write. I was literally staring at the computer screen for a half hour trying to figure out how to start.
This chapter is a little weird, I just wanted to see how it would feel to write in a POV I didn't relate to much, I find it somehow easier to write in either Percy or Annabeth POV, so sorry if this is choppy or bad, (its also kind of short, the chapters will probably get longer after i get my stride and get farther in)
And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE review because if I don't get any reviews I get really discouraged and lose my streak/interest.
But thank you thank you thank you to those of you who did review, love you muah.
Oh and also, let me know if you want me to stick to Percy and Annabeth POV's only, I'm curious to see what you think
Toodles loves xoxo
PIPER
Piper was shaken. She had just walked past Percy's room and heard Annabeth crying, and Percy consoling her. It had brought tears to her eyes to hear her friend so broken. Piper knocked on Jason's door and tentatively opened it
"Jason? Are you up?" She whispered
Jason sleepily raised his head from the covers. Half his face was illuminated in moonlight and it made his blond hair look even more striking than usual.
"Oh hey pipes, yeah come in" He yawned. He sat up in bed and she crawled in beside him. He propped his hands on his chin, and studied her face.
"Are you ok?" Jason asked worriedly, tilting his head up, "You seem stressed, what's wrong?
Piper sighed and shook her head absentmindedly.
"I- I'm really worried about Annabeth. I think she's a lot worse than shes letting on" She bit her lip nervously and propped herself up so she was in a good sitting position.
"I was going to my room but when I passed Percy's room, I heard Annabeth sobbing and crying, and I just-" Piper looked away as her eyes began to fill with tears.
She thought about how Annabeth had helped her so many times. How close they had gotten when they were building the Argo II. Piper had never had any close friends before, and she liked having someone to depend on, a shoulder to cry on.
"She's the closest friend I have and I just hate seeing her so hurt."
" And I hate even MORE that I can't do anything about it" She sighed and ran her hand over her face as if to clear her thoughts.
"I guess- I just needed you, to be reminded that I still have you, and that you're ok," She admitted
Jason smiled softly and touched her cheek. Locking his bright blue eyes with her kaleidoscope ones he tried to read her face.
"I'm always here for you Pipes." He interlaced their fingers and said, "Never forget that, ok?" His eyebrows creased in concern for her.
Piper took a deep breath and nodded blinking away the tears in her eyes, as she looked at him through wet lashes.
"Do you think- Is there any way that we can help them?" Piper pleaded. "They've already been through so much together, they deserve to be happy, don't you think?"
"Believe me, Pipes, if there was anything I thought I could do for them, I'd do it in a heartbeat. You know that"
Jason turned his head to look out the window
"But, I think this is something they have to get past together. All we can do is be there for them, OK?
He looked at Piper again, who looked visibly gutted that she couldn't make her friend feel better.
Piper shuddered, but whispered, "OK"
Jason touched her cheek and smiled softly, "Come here"
He scooted back so that his back was against his pillows and tapped his shoulder.
Piper rolled her eyes but smirked, leaning back so her head was resting on his shoulder. She adjusted herself so that she was comfortable and smiled. Jason kissed the side of her head and held her hand.
How did I get such an amazing boyfriend? Piper thought happily
Her mind drifted off to one of her favorite moments with Jason.
They were at camp half-blood, and had just gone to bed after a long day working on the Argo II, when she heard tat-tat-tap on her window. She drowsily looked up and saw Jason outside her window, glancing left and right frantically, trying to not get caught. When he realized she was looking at him, his face lit up and he grinned broadly, beckoning her outside. Piper laughed incredulously. She couldn't believe Jason Grace was outside after curfew. All traces of sleepiness had been erased from Piper's mind, as she threw on a hoodie and carefully and quietly got out of bed, so as to not wake the whole aphrodite cabin. She carefully closed the door behind her and whirled around grinning
"What in the world are you doing," She whisper shouted, laughing.
"Shhhh" He laughed, "Just come with me"
He grabbed her hand and led her hurriedly away from the cabins.
Piper had no idea where he was taking her but she didn't care. She peeked at him, and thought he had never looked more alive. His eyes were alight with mischief and his smile was the biggest she had ever seen. Piper loved when Jason was like this, since it happened so rarely.
"Come onnnn" He groaned
"Faster Pipes!" She laughed and let him tug her every which way. They finally stopped at the edge of the strawberry fields. Piper turned to Jason confused
"Wait why are we here?
Jason grinned mischievously "Close your eyes"
Piper laughed but obliged.
He took her hand and led her into the fields. She felt the bristles of the bushes passing through her legs.
"Ok, stop." Jason took her hands in his. "Now open your eyes"
Piper opened one eye warily
"Jason Grace if this is a prankā¦"
He laughed, "Just turn around"
Piper turned her head curiously, "Oh my gods" She gasped
Jason had set up a checkered blanket on the grass with a basket of strawberries and melted chocolate for dipping. The moon in the sky illuminated everything in a beautiful glow. As the daughter of the love goddess, of course, Piper was so moved by his romantic gesture that she turned around and kissed him on the lips. And not a chaste, quick kiss. A long passionate one that gave her butterflies in her stomach.
"I'm guessing this means you like it?" Jason said nervously
"Yeah, I really do." She smiled. "I think my mom would be proud" Piper whispered
Jason laughed and tugged her down so they were both sitting. The rest of the night was full of strawberry chocolate kisses and laughs.
Piper smiled fondly at the memory.
She loved that she brought out that side in him. The rebellious romantic hidden inside the obedient rule follower everyone thought he was came out to play every now and then, and Piper took full advantage of those moments. Of course they'd never be like Percy and Annabeth, who snuck out all night to sleep on the bay doors together, she remembered smiling. As the daughter of Aphrodite she whole heartedly approved of those two's antics, even if she thought Jason was more impressive than Percy.
Jason had fallen asleep and was making little soft snores that comforted Piper, and made her giggle at the same time. He had wrapped his arms around her like a cocoon, which made her feel good. Pipers thoughts then drifted to Annabeth.
Tomorrow I'm going to call a meeting in the mess hall, She decided. I think we all need to get together and figure out the best way to help her.
Percy should be there too, She thought. No one knows her better than him.
Piper wondered if Percy was going through the same things as Annabeth, or if he was just better at hiding it than she was. She would corner him tomorrow and make him tell her, she decided finally.
Piper didn't know what they went through in Tartarus, and nobody ever would, but she had to do something. She couldn't let her best friend fall to pieces.
She sighed, at least she still had Jason. He was her rock, what kept her strong. He was also really cute and powerful, which made Piper like him even more so.
With that she fell asleep, dreaming up ways to help her friend.
Sooooo... what'd you think?
