A/N: Okay guys, I am so so so so so so sorry for not updating for like three months. I have no excuses. I'm just lazy and it's hard to motivate myself to write sometimes. But good news is a-writer-of-things has managed to motivate me and I am really going to try and finish this fic by the beginning of April. I'm not going to make promises, but I will try for you all. You've all been so patient with me and I appreciate and love every single one of you. Now, here is the long and overdue chapter 10! Remember to review your thoughts (It always helps motivate me to write faster)

Beca was lying on her back, staring up at the ceiling beside a sleeping Chloe. She couldn't keep thoughts from running through her mind as she thought about the last few days. It was the only time she felt alone, which made it the only time she felt safe enough to let her feelings overtake her mind. She let out a tiny sigh as she turned her head to the side and stared at her wife, who looked to be incredibly peaceful. She watched as Chloe's side slowly rose upward and then back down as she took tiny slow breaths.

Beca smiled as she watched the other woman sleep. She had felt so happy the last couple of days and truth be told, if was all thanks to Chloe Mitchell. She brought her hand up to Chloe's cheek and gently brushed a strand of hair off to the side. She nearly jumped back when she saw a tiny smile form on Chloe's face, as her eyes remained shut.

"Can't sleep?" Chloe mumbled with her eyes still shut.

"Not really," Beca sighed. "Sorry if I woke you up."

"It's okay, waking up to you being kind of cute isn't the worst thing in the world." Chloe finally opened her eyes and looked at her wife, taking Beca's breath away. She still couldn't understand how someone could have such stunningly beautiful eyes.

"I was just thinking and got a bit carried away," Beca blushed.

"What were you thinking about?" Chloe propped an elbow, resting her head on her hand. She stared intensely at Beca as she waited for her to respond. However, Beca remained silent as she bit her bottom lip, unsure of what to say.

"Tell me," Chloe gave her a reassuring smile.

Beca let out a tiny sigh as she focused her eyes back to her wife. "I was just thinking about how happy I am to have a second chance with you…" She trailed off.

"And…?" Chloe began to feel her nerves kick in as she waited for a response.

"And I was also thinking…how if we're going to have any shot at fixing what happened between us…we're going to need to be able to address it…without being scared of setting the other person off…" As scared as Beca was to speak her mind, she also knew that she and Chloe had to address the issue at hand.

Chloe stared blankly at the other woman for a few seconds before letting out a tiny sigh. She slowly nodded her head, a frown creeping on her face. "I know. That's all I've been thinking about since we decided to give this a second shot." She admitted with hesitation.

"What do you think we should do?" Beca asked cautiously.

Chloe paused as she thought solutions up in her head. "To be honest, I'd like to just get through the next six days and then after that we can decide what the best solution would be for us." She replied.

Beca knew Chloe had a point, but she also knew deep down inside that this could be a way for the other woman to try and get out of discussing the inevitable. Though she wasn't completely sure if it was the right thing, she was sure that if she continued to pressure her, it would just cause an unnecessary argument. She gave the other woman a tiny smile as she nodded her head up and down. "That sounds fair to me." She agreed.

Chloe smiled back before turning her body around and pressing herself against her wife. Beca hesitantly wrapped her arm around Chloe's waist and rested her head against her pillow, her lips pressed against Chloe's neck. "I forgot how much I missed this," Chloe rested her hand against Beca's. "Being in your arms like this." She finished.

"I know," Beca hummed contently. "I wish we could just stay like this all day today."

"Speaking of today," Chloe remembered. "What did your father have planned for us again?" She asked.

"He says he needs us to go pick up a couple of last minute presents for him. I guess when he went shopping he somehow forgot to buy for Emily and Garry." Beca rolled her eyes at father's memory and how bad it was.

"Well then I guess we should get up and get a move on," Chloe went to budge but found it nearly impossible when Beca tightened the grip she had on her. "Beca," Chloe had groaned and half giggled.

"What? I'm not doing anything," she innocently replied.

Chloe fought even harder to get out of her grip, squirming in the other woman's arms. "How are you so strong for a tiny little woman?" Chloe flinched as Beca playfully smacked her.

"Be nice," Beca then started to grab Chloe's waist and tickle her.

"Oh my god you have to stop," Chloe yelped. Being tickled was something she did not fancy, especially because of how easy it was to do.

"Say you're sorry and I will," Beca laughed when she saw Chloe's face.

"Fine, alright!" Chloe yelled. "I'm sorry," she replied breathlessly.

"Alright, now go get ready. You're going to make us late," Beca smirked.

"I hate you so much," Chloe mumbled as she got out of bed.

"No you don't," the other woman replied smugly.

"Okay, but you still suck." Chloe sighed.

"Whatever you say, now go get ready so we can get a start with the day." Beca smiled. Chloe rolled her eyes playfully before walking away. Beca couldn't help but feel at ease as she watched her wife walk into the bathroom. The past few day's things have gotten so much better and for the first time it was finally starting to feel like they were slowly getting back to their old ways, to the days they were happy.

-April 2019-

Beca pulled into hers and Chloe's driveway and turned off the car, she then turned her body to face her wife. She frowned as she watched the other woman continue to stare out her window. "Chloe," Beca called out softly.

"Yeah?" Chloe replied, keeping herself focused on whatever was outside her window.

"We're home." Beca waited for her wife to reply but received nothing, not even a sigh. "Chloe?" She asked.

"What?" Chloe once again replied, still not looking away from the window.

"We should get you inside so you can rest," Beca frowned.

"I don't need to rest," Chloe replied in a dark tone.

"The doctor said…" Beca started but was quickly cut off by her wife.

"I don't care what the doctor said, I'm fine. I don't need to rest." Chloe had finally looked over at her wife.

Beca's heart broke as she saw her wife's red and puffy eyes. "Okay, well we should at least get you inside." Her voice dropped lower as she attempted to be extremely cautious around the other woman.

"Why? What's the difference between here and inside? I'm still going to be just as upset inside as I will be out here." Chloe wasn't sure why she was attempting to start an argument between herself and Beca. She knew Beca was only trying to help. But in that moment, she also didn't care.

"Because at least you can lie down inside, and I can make you a tea. Being out here won't do you any good, please let's just go inside." Beca pleaded.

"Fine," Chloe gave in. Without another word she slowly removed her seatbelt and watched as Beca ran to the other side of the car and opened her door for her. "I can get my own door, Beca. I didn't break my arms, I just lost a baby." Chloe regretted the words the second they left her mouth, but showed no sign of it.

Beca flinched as the other woman walked past her. She wasn't sure what to say or do at the moment because she herself was grieving, and Chloe was not accepting any form of help whatsoever.

Both women walked inside and removed their shoes. "Why don't you go lie down and I'll bring you up some green tea," Beca went to grab Chloe's hand but she quickly pulled away.

"Whatever," she replied. She then turned away from her wife and slowly made her way up the stairs, not looking back.

Beca made her way over to the kitchen and filled the kettle up. She turned the burner on and looked outside the kitchen window as she waited for the water to boil.

Without any warning, she immediately broke down into tears. She quickly turned the sink on to drowned out the noise of her cries as she leaned over and lost all control. Her body convulsed as everything had replayed itself in her head. She knew it would be hard for the next little while, and she knew that whatever she was currently feeling, Chloe must be feeling 10X's worse.

Ten minutes past and Beca slowly walked into hers and Chloe's room. Chloe was lying on her side, her back towards the other woman. Beca placed the mug onto their bed stand and watched the other woman carefully. Just as she was about to walk away she heard a tiny noise come from her wife.

"Beca," Chloe whispered.

"Yes baby?" Beca slowly approached her.

"Can you just hold me for a while? I really need you to hold me." Her voice was small, but Beca heard everything loud and clear. She slowly got behind the other woman. She placed one arm around her waist and the other under her pillow. She grasped onto her tightly as she gently pressed her lips to the back of Chloe's head.

"Chlo…I'm not sure what to say…" Chloe cut her off.

"Don't. Don't say anything. Just hold me." Tears trailed down Chloe's face onto her pillow.

Beca nodded as she closed her eyes and kept a tight hold on her wife. If Chloe didn't want her to say anything, that was fine. But she had every intention on comforting the woman as best as she could with touch.

A few minutes past before Chloe finally spoke again. "Beca?"

"Yeah?" Beca lifted her head from her pillow to look at the other woman.

"I'm sorry," she whispered.

"For what?" Beca asked.

"For everything," Chloe began to cry.

"No, babe this isn't your fault. Please don't apologize for something that was completely out of our hands. I love you so much and I know how much you must be hurting, I'm hurting as well. But we need to just stick together and talk it through. We need to be each other's support." Chloe turned herself over and dug her face into Beca's chest as she cried.

"I promise that we'll get through this Chloe. I promise that I'm not going anywhere and I'll be here for you, for the good and the bad. If you need to yell, you can yell. If you need to cry, you're going to do it in my arms. I'm not going anywhere; we'll get through this together. I promise you," Beca softly stroked Chloe's head, pressing her lips against it.

"Thank you Beca, I really needed to hear you say that. I don't know why, but I did." Chloe wiped the tears from her face.

"Try to get some rest baby, I'm not going anywhere. I love you so much Chloe and that will never change."Beca continued to comfort the other woman in her arms. "I promise." She whispered.

Time passed and eventually Chloe's sobs died down as she slowly fell into a much needed sleep. Beca's eyes struggled to stay open as she watched over her wife; doing anything she could to protect her. As she felt the soft warm air tickle against her neck as Chloe slowly breathed in and out, Beca swore to herself that she would do anything in her power to help Chloe. She would do anything she could to make the other woman's pain go away because if there was one thing Beca could never stand to see, it was the broken look in Chloe's bright blue eyes, a look of heartbreak and devastation. The eyes that were once filled with life, love and happiness were now filled with nothing, nothing at all and that itself was enough to break Beca's heart.

-Present 2019-

Beca and Chloe walked around the mall, Beca hands were filled with bags and Chloe's were completely empty.

"Chloe, please tell me we're almost done. My arms and feet are starting to get tried. Also, if my stomach growls one more time I'm one hundred perfect sure it's going to start eating me from the inside out," Beca complained.

"Your stomach and I have that in common." Chloe winked, laughing when she saw the look on Beca's face.

"I did not expect that?" Beca was thrown off by the other woman's sexual advances.

"What, a girl can't make sexual jokes with her wife?" Chloe asked innocently.

Beca went to reply but was immediately thrown off when she heard crying coming from behind her. She turned around and saw a little girl who looked to be about five, with long brown hair and bright blue eyes standing in front of a store alone and crying. Beca looked back at Chloe and frowned. She then looked around and waited to see if anyone was going to come to her aid. About thirty seconds had passed and no one showed up. Beca slowly approached the little girl and kneeled down in front of her.

"Is everything okay sweetie?" She asked. Chloe approached both girl's and rested her hand on Beca's shoulder.

The little girl quickly shook her head as she rubbed her very irritated eyes. "What's wrong?" Beca asked softly.

"I lost my mommy and I can't find her," the little girl cried out.

"Aw sweetie, what store did you last see her at?" Beca asked.

"Dunno," she replied shortly.

"Well she can't be too far," Beca looked behind her at Chloe, who nodded her head. She then looked back at the little girl. "What's your name sweetie?"

The little girl stayed silent as she kept her eyes on the ground. Eventually she looked up at Beca. "Abby," she replied.

"Abby, that's a beautiful name." Beca smiled softly. "Did you want us to help you find your mommy, Abby?" She asked.

Abby shook her head. "Mommy told me I shouldn't go anywhere with strangers."

Beca and Chloe both smiled at her words. "Well," Beca got up from her knees. "Your mommy is right about that. How about my wife stays here with you while I try to go and find your mom?" Beca asked.

Abby slowly nodded her head. "But," she started then stopped.

"But what sweetie?" Beca replied.

"Can you stay with me?" She asked shyly.

Beca and Chloe both laughed. Chloe nodded to both of them. "Of course she can," she smiled. "I'll be right back." Chloe quickly kissed Beca on the cheek and walked away to get help.

"So, Abby, how old are you?" Beca attempted to make conversation.

"Five," she held her hand up with five fingers in the air.

Beca smiled. "Wow, you're pretty old, huh?"

She shook her head. "My brother is older than me."

"How old is he?" She asked.

"He's eight," Abby started. "He knows how to ride a bike and everything," she replied excitedly.

"He does?" Beca acted shocked.

Abby nodded her head. "Uh huh."

"And how about you, do you know how to ride a bike?" Beca asked.

Abby shook her head. "No, I suck at riding a bike," she frowned.

Beca smiled as she got down on one knee. "You're still young. I wasn't good at riding my bike until I was your brother's age either."

"I guess," Abby shrugged.

"I bet when you learn to ride a bike like him, you'll be so good at it you'll even be better than I am." Beca winked.

"Probably not," Abby shook her head.

Beca giggled and nodded. "Can I tell you a secret?" She asked. Abby nodded and quickly leaned in closer as though she was extremely invested on finding out what the secret was. "The last time I rode my bike, I fell right off of it into a puddle. I soaked my clothes and my wife Chloe laughed at me for probably thirty minutes." Beca smiled as she watched Abby laugh at her.

"Mommy," Abby yelled as she looked behind Beca and saw her mother approaching.

"There you are, I've been looking everywhere for you!" The mother was out of breath and panicked. Beca watched as Chloe came from behind her.

"I found her at the information desk. I heard her telling the woman about her child and I figured she was her mom." Chloe whispered.

"Thank you so much," the woman looked at Beca and Chloe as she hugged her daughter.

"There's nothing to thank us for, we're just glad we found you." Chloe smiled.

"Mommy, can Beca come over and play?" Abby asked, taking everyone by surprise, especially Beca and Chloe.

"Oh Abby, I really appreciate the offer but I have to finish shopping." A frown crept back onto Abby's face. "But maybe one day soon?" She asked.

Abby quickly nodded then looked up at her mother. "Is that okay mommy?" She asked.

The woman smiled and nodded as well. "Of course it is." She looked over at Chloe and Beca and winked as though she was advising them to play along.

"Sounds good," Beca replied. "It was really nice talking to you, Abby. I hope you have a Merry Christmas."

Abby smiled at both women. "Thanks Beca. I hope Santa brings you everything you asked for."

Beca laughed. "Thanks, you too."

"Alright, well thanks again ladies. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year," the mom smiled at them both before walking away.

Beca sighed in content as she grabbed the bags from the ground. She looked over at Chloe who had a giant smile plastered on her face.

"What?" Beca asked.

"Nothing," Chloe replied, her smile remaining where it was.

"Why are you smiling like that?"

"No reason," Chloe shrugged.

Beca playfully rolled her eyes at the other woman. "Whatever you say Bunbun, now can we please go home?"

Chloe giggled and nodded at her. "You know, you're more impatient than Abby."

"Yeah well I have no shame. I hate shopping and the fact I've been here for two hours is slowly killing me. Plus if creepy skinny Santa over there checks you out one more time, I may or may not be inclined to shove that candy cane up his…" Chloe cut Beca off.

"Okay," she laughed. "Lead the way dear." Beca smiled before walking away. As Chloe followed her wife closely she couldn't help but think how adorable Beca was with Abby, and how Beca was proving that she'd be an amazing mother more and more each day.
