Izumi's P.O.V
It's been almost ten months since meeting Keigo. I can't say I regret leaving my old life behind. Keigo showed me that people could be kind and that I deserved happiness, just like everyone else. Though I knew I still wanted to be a hero, one who saves with a smile. I wasn't sure if I still wanted to go to U.A though because I knew Bakugo was going there. Tossing my head back, I sighed with a heavy heart, not knowing what to do.
That's how Keigo found me when he arrived home from patrol. I smiled at him then turned back to my thinking. I could see he worried, about what weighed on my heart. I dare not tell him the reason because I knew he would go after Bakugo. For all the pain he caused me and for the hand-shaped scars, I will forever carry. They were like a brand on my mind once holding me down in fear. Keigo erased all that fear with gentle kisses, touches. He was my hero in every way possible.
"Pretty Bird, what's wrong?," Keigo asked after planting himself on the couch next to me.
"I want to go to U.A" I answered him " But He will be there" I never told him who had given me the scars, just that it was a classmate.
"Izumi" you knew he was serious when he used your real name "I won't stop you from following your dream. Just please if he tries to hurt you again, get a teacher" Keigo pleaded with me He worried for me. I know that, so I nodded cuddling up to his chest.
"I promise," I said closing my eyes enjoying the warmth my winged boyfriend gave off.
Day of U.A Entrance Exams
Looking at the sea of potential students I had to push down my fear. I avoided anyone with blond hair, not wanting to see Bakugo. Present Mic explains the rules of the exam, rolling my eyes when he was interrupted by a tall boy with engines in his legs. I ignored the other participants as I stretched not caring that they were staring at me. Seeing Present Mic I straightened up, wings at the ready to shot off unlike the other.
"START" He screamed using his quirk and I was off reducing robots to blobs of metal with my flames "There's no count down in real life," he said to the gobsmacked wannabe heroes.
As I flew I stealthily destroyed robots from behind others who struggled, healing them than flying off. I knew that this strategy could cost me the exam. But I'm here to be a hero who saves everyone no matter what. If I let them get injured just because this was an exam, I'd be betraying what I believe in. I landed on a roof to catch my breath but fell over when the ground rumbled underneath my feet. The Zero Pointer was huge I could hear people running in fear I stood to join them.
"HELP ME" I heard someone scream looking down I saw a girl trapped under a piece of rubble. People just ran passed her leaving her to be crushed. Disgusted at their actions, These were no heroes they are nothing but cowards. With angry fueling my quirk I let my golden flames take shape around me.
Teacher's P.O.V
Inside the control room, the teachers scrambled to get out of the room. The Zero pointer for group C had malfunctioned, It was uncontrollable. They had to hurry or that young girl will be crushed.
A mouse-like creature named Nedzu stopped them from leaving getting protests from the pro heroes. Until they noticed the bright glowing light from behind them. They stared at the visage of a bird made of golden flames in awe. to them, an untrained student shouldn't be able to do this.
" A true hero risks everything to protect others, They do not run from danger no matter the circumstances." A female voice echoed inside the exam room. All of the pro heroes knew that this was the most important thing in being a hero unless you were Endeavour( Hate him).
Izumi P.O.V
Spreading my wings I flew straight into The Zero Pointer's chest. melting wires and circuits before emerging on the other side. The force of the attack sent it backwards away from the girl but it caught me on the wings sending me out of view. Crashing through a wall was painful but not as much as my limp wing that was surely broken.
"TIME's UP" Present Mic yelled over the com system. I cried silent tears knowing I failed the exam.
"Keigo's going to be so disappointed" I whispered as I left the school grounds avoiding the nurse that was patching people up. The whole walk home I cried to myself, I knew that I would still be accepted for general education but the hero course was out of my reach.
Unknown P.O.V
I knew just from seeing the golden wings that this was the girl who gave up her chance at the hero course to save the life of a stranger. The other teachers didn't believe me when I told them, just because of that blond idiot. Clenching my fists, I had restrained from punching him with all my will. I couldn't handle seeing her tears anymore so I turned away.
"You knew that you would fail but still saved a stranger. I would have been glad to have you in my class." I whispered out as I headed home knowing she would be either be put in General Education or be going to another school altogether.
