RWBY Sisterhood, Chapter 3

The girls arrived at their dorm room, going inside they saw that the room was sparsely furnished. There were four beds, dressers, desks and closets. Looking at the room from the door it was set up with two beds at one end with the four desks against the windows with the other two beds at the other end of the room. The dressers were against the wall the door was one with the closets were on the same side as the beds.

"So Blake, do you want to take the bed by Yang's?"

Blake looked over at Ruby. "Does Yang snore?"

"No, but you know, the puns."

Yang turned to them. "Hey, I'm not apologizing if you all don't have a sense of humor."

Weiss walked over to bed on the far left side of the room and put her bag down. "I'll take this one unless there is an issue."

"if you have that side then Blake and I will take this one." Yang said as she put her stuff down by one of the dressers. Walking over to the bed she looked at them. "Ok, what do we think about bunk beds?"

"Can we convert these into bunk beds?" Blake asked but before Yang could give an answer she picked up one of the beds and put it on top of another. The legs of the top bed matched up with the bed posts of the bottom bed.

"See, there we go" Yang said with a smile. She went over to one of her bags and pulled out a roll of tape and taped each of the legs to the bed posts. "Now we don't have to worry about the top bed falling off."

"Do ours next." Ruby looked over at Weiss and by her eyes she could see that Weiss was not for this. "If you are ok with it?"

Weiss sighed and walked over to the bunk bed that Yang and made. She kicked the bottom bed numerous times from different sides, after that she shook the bed and inspected the areas that Yang had taped. She turned back around to Ruby. "I get the bottom bunk."

Ruby's face lit up. "That's perfect, I wanted the top one.". Yang sent over and converted their beds into bunk beds. "Ok, now that has been taken care of, what's next?"

"We have the rest of the day off to rest from the team selection as well as unpack our stuff. Tomorrow we need to pick up our uniforms, set up our weapons lockers and familiarize ourselves with the campus as classes start on Thursday."

Blake looked over at Weiss. "I thought Ruby was the team leader."

Weiss held up a piece of paper. "She is, but this is what we are supposed to do according to the schedule that we were given in our packet."

The others looked in their packets and found the schedule that Weiss was holding. "When did you read this?" Blake asked.

"As we were walking here." Weiss said.

"Well let's do what the schedule says and get our room set up." Yang said, with that everyone got to unpacking their stuff.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Jaune, Pyrrha, Ren and Nora arrived at the room next to team RWBY's a short time after them. Getting inside they all dropped their bags with Nora jumping onto one of the beds. "I call dibs on this one."

"Ok" Jaune said.

Nora sat up. "Hey, you are supposed to be our fearless leader, so why are you just letting me do what I want?"

"I rather pick my battles." Jaune said. "Anyone else want a specific bed?"

"I'll take the one next to Nora, unless either of you object?"

"That is fine with me." Pyrrha said to Ren. "So we get those two."

"Take whichever one you want." Jaune said. Pyrrha put her weapon and shield on one of the beds. "Well according to the itinerary we have today to unpack and some stuff to do tomorrow."

"In that case lets get pizza delivered and stay up getting to know each other." Nora said.

Jaune looked at the others. "It sounds nice except for the pizza part unless we can get it delivered."

Nora smiled and pulled out her phone. "Don't worry, I already have all of the restaurants that deliver in Vale in my contacts. They can deliver it by drone right to the dorm."

"Unless anyone has an objection lets get unpacked first and then order dinner." No one disagreed with Jaune's decision.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Weiss was the first one to finish unpacking her stuff, when she finished she took a shower as she was still dirty from the test that they had earlier in the day. Getting back in the room she saw the girls sitting around Ruby's scroll. "Hey Weiss, is there anything you don't like on pizza?"

Weiss put her shower items on her bed. "Why are you asking?"

Ruby showed Weiss her scroll that has a menu on it. "Because we are going to order it for dinner. I walked down the hall and the other students we met up with are next door together as a group as well. They said that we can get food delivered here so were going to piggyback on their order."

Weiss looked at them. "The school has a cafeteria, where we can eat for free."

"Come on" Yang said getting up. "This is our first night together as a team, we can spend it getting to know each other. I don't know anything about you or Blake and you two don't know anything about Ruby or myself."

Looking at them, Weiss took in a deep breath and sighed through her nose. "Fine".

Ruby smiled. "Ok then, is there anything you don't like?"

"It makes no difference to me." Weiss put her shower items away and picked up a book and started to read as the girls went and put in an order for dinner. By the time that pizza arrived the other girls had finished putting their stuff away and getting in a shower as well. Putting the pizza out the girls were waiting for Weiss to take off her mask as they hadn't seen her face. They were disappointed to see that the mask had a small opening so she could eat without taking it off.

"That isn't fair, I wanted to see you face." Ruby said with a pouty face.

Weiss looked at her. "Unless something changes I never plan on showing it."

"Why, did something happen." Blake asked.

"Yes and for me it is easier to hide it with this mask." Weiss said.

"I'm sorry to hear that" Yang said.

"Don't be. It isn't something I can control and I've accepted it." Weiss said.

"Well since we are on the serious side there is something that I need to tell you three." Blake got up and make sure the door to the room was locked. She sat back down with the other who were looking at her. "So, I'm a fanus."

The girls looked at each other before looking back at Blake. "And?" Yang asked.

"I'm a fanus." Blake said again, expecting a reaction.

"Not to be mean, but are you expecting us to do something?" Ruby asked.

"That is why you have been wearing gloves this entire time." Weiss said.

Yang's eyes lit up. "That is why you are wearing them. I was trying to figure out why you have been wearing them since yesterday. But I remember you taking them off for breakfast and your hands looked normal."

Blake took off her gloves, showing that her hand was a cross between that of a human and a cat. Fur covered her arm almost to her elbow. Her nails were longer, thicker and sharper than a normal person's nail. Turning her hand over they could see pads on the palm of her hand. Taking off her shoes her feet were similar to her hands as they were a cross between a human and cat's foot. Undoing her headband she revealed a pair of cat ears on her head.

Ruby just started wide eyed at Blake's ears. "Ruby, is there something wrong?" Blake asked, concerned at what she might say.

"This might sound odd, or rude, or offensive but I have to ask, do you like having people scratch your ears? We have a dog, his name is Zwei and he loves it when we give him ear scratches and I've always wondered if fanus liked that as well. I'm not saying that you're an animal, I mean you are but so are humans, its just that I see how happy Zwei is but he can never actually tell us how great it is. So I didn't know if you felt it the same way that he does?"

Blake had to stop and think about what Ruby just asked. "That is the only thing you want to know?"

Ruby started to blush. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked that but I really wanted to ask because Zwei is always happy when we do it for him."

Blake smiled. "I'm not mad. I just, I have had issues with people because I'm a fanus, so I try to hide it when I can. Since we are all in a team you all would find out at some point so I wanted it to happen sooner rather than later. And to answer your question it feels great."

"So I have a question, how are you able to disguise yourself without using clothes." Yang asked.

"My semblance." The girls watched as Blake's body changed from being a fanus to being human. Brushing back her hair they could even see that she had human ears. "My semblance lets me make clones of myself, including anything I'm wearing. I had a human outfit made that I used for making clone copies of myself. So if I can't hide parts of me with clothes I can use my semblance to make me look human."

"Do you use up a lot of your aura while doing that?" Ruby asked.

"Not a lot, once I make a clone version it doesn't use any extra aura unless I have it do something. So if I make a clone of myself and have it lay on the ground it will stay there for hours before it will disappear, if I have it move then it will start to use some of my aura."

Yang looked over at Weiss. "You haven't said anything, there isn't anything wrong with Blake?"

"No, I was thinking that something bad happen to make you hide yourself from others like this. In the end I could care less if you are fanus or human, I'll judge you like everyone else I meet and that is from your actions, not on things you have no control over."

Blake smiled. "Thanks." Yang and Ruby smiled as well. "So Yang, you and Ruby are sisters?"

"We are" Yang said proudly. "We're technically half-sisters but that has never been an issue for us."

"Half-sisters, not to be rude, but what happened to your mom?" Blake asked.

Yang smiled but looked away from everyone while scratching her head. "I was told she ran away. She and my dad both attended Beacon academy, they were in the same team, that is how the met and got to know each other. My uncle and Ruby's mom were in the same team, they were team Stark, but it was spelled STRQ. Shortly after I was born she left, my dad took care of me while my uncle looked for my mom. In the end all he brought back was her ring and a note saying she wasn't coming back."

"I'm sorry for bringing this up." Blake said.

Yang turned to her and smiled. "Don't be. I mean you and Weiss would find out sooner or later, I mean we are going to be in the same team for the next four years."

"So I take it Ruby's mom helped raise the two of you with your dad?" Blake asked.

"That is a perfectly reasonable question." Ruby said. Blake looked at her as she started to regret asking the question. "My mom did help raise me and Yang but she died on a mission. They looked for her body but they couldn't find it. It has been our dad raising us with our uncle coming in from time-to-time to help us out."

"I'm doing a horrible job with this. Should I even ask about your family Weiss?"

"I don't have one. My last name is Halbrook but anyone with that last name isn't related to me.". Somehow Blake felt relieved hearing this from Weiss.

"How about you Blake, any tragic backstory that you have with your family?" Yang asked.

"No, they are civil servants in Menagerie and they both are alive and well."

"Darn" Ruby said looking down before lifting her head and looking back at Blake. "I thought you were going to with this by saying that your parents somehow got infected by Grimm and were these mutated fanus/Grimm monsters that ravished the land and embarrassed you in front of everyone on your first day at school."

"I'm guessing that is something your dad did?" Blake asked.

"It was my first day at Signal academy, I mean my first day. No one knows me so I can make a great first impression and he shows up looking like he is about to go surfing, wanting to take pictures of me."

"Dad always looks like he is about to go surfing." Yang said.

"I know, but if he wanted to see me off couldn't he at least wear something normal?"

"Like your tactical combat dress that you wear?" Weiss said.

Everyone else looked at her. "What is wrong with it?" Ruby asked.

Wiess shrugged. "It got you three to stop talking about our families, didn't it?"

"Yeah it did" Yang jumping in to avoid and awkward silence. "So, Blake, you never did ask Ruby's question, how does it feel to get your ear's scratched?"

Blake stopped her semblance and had her body look like it usually did. "It feels amazing, there are a lot of nerves in my ear so scratching them or rubbing them can almost feel euphoric.". Blake noticed that Ruby was starring at her ears. "Do you want to rub them?"

"I really just want to know how they feel?" Ruby said.

Blake lowered her head to Ruby. "Have a feel."

Ruby put her hand out and slowly rubbed her fingers against one of Blake's ears. "Oh my, they are so soft. You all have to feel them.". Yang went and felt Blake's other ear and even Weiss felt one of them, admitting that it was quite soft.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

"So you are part of the Arc family, that explains how you were able to take charge during our test today." Ren said.

Jaune smiled. "Thanks, I guess listening to all of the stories during the different family get together paid off."

"At least you get to be the team leader" Nora said picking up another piece of pizza. "I heard that you get stuck with a lot of the paperwork that we need to do."

"It shouldn't be that bad." Jaune looked at how close Ren and Nora were. "I have to ask, how long have you two known each other?"

Nora put her hand on top of Ren's. "We've known each other since we were kids. We lived in a small town called Kuroyuri but we never really talked to each other. One day a horde showed up and wiped the town off of the map. The only reason we survived was due to Ren's semblance. We found out later that the horde was caused by a Nuckelavee. After that we have been looking out for each other."

Jaune's eyes widened. "A Nuckelavee, I remember hearing about that. It was one of the few times that the military decided to help in killing a Grimm. I'm sorry to hear that no one else made it out of your town."

"Thanks. Ever since that happened we have stayed together, taking care of each other. We were lucky to get into Oscuro academy and then coming here." Ren said.

"I guess you two are lucky to be partners" Pyrrha said with a smile.

Ren nodded "indeed".

"By the way, what should we put on the door to let you two know if we are having some personnel time?". Nora asked with a smile. "We could use a sock but then everyone would know."

Jaune and Pyrrha looked at each other. "How about we find a pin or something small we can put on the door. We can find something this weekend."

Nora smiled. "Great, by the way, do you two care if we share a bed."

"I don't but could you not do anything in it while we should be sleeping." Pyrrha nodded in agreement with Jaune said.

Nora went and wrapped herself around Ren. "Don't you worry, I'm not about to let anyone else get a hold of Ren."

Pyrrha gave a tilted smile. "I can see."

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Wednesday came and went smoothly. The different teams went and picked up their school uniforms and found their assigned weapon storage lockers in the armory. They also had the chance to meet up with friends and walk around the island that the academy was on.

Thursday morning was the start of the first day of classes. An assembly was held in the auditorium before classes began for the day. All of the first year students were there in their assigned team, they waited a short while until Ozpin came out on stage. Seeing him walk to the podium the students started to quiet down.

"Good morning to all of you and congratulations again for getting accepted into Beacon academy. The huntsman academies were founded over three hundred years ago. In the beginning the first academy was barely a school as it served to make sure that those who would fight the Grimm had the basic abilities to fight them. It didn't take long for others to see the potential that the original school had and a proper facility was built. Over time academies were built in each of the kingdoms across our planet to train future huntsman in the hope that one day we will stop the Grimm."

"Unlike the first academy which was nothing more than a training facility the academies act as training, education, research, development, and medical training for our fight against the Grimm. You will learn how to fight the Grimm but that is only one part of your studies while you are here. All of this is to serve you in some way when you leave here. "

"As time goes on, some of you will leave, around twenty percent of our first year students will. Some leave as they come to realize the harsh reality of being a huntsman. Other will leave as they realize that they rather learn out in the field; neither of these are wrong. Some of your instructors have graduated from a huntsman academy while other have never attending one. And as always, some of you will completely ignore your academics, and fail every test and makeup test."

"The cruel reality of attending this academy is that a few of the students in this room will die this year. You are attending a school that when you leave your job will be to go directly into harm's way. The only way to prepare you for this is to put you directly into harm's way. Being a huntsman is not as glamorous as some may think. All of you have fought and killed a Grimm before coming here, but for some of you it was just at one of the feeder academies. From today onward fighting Grimm who have been captured will be a luxury used to educate you, fighting them in the wild, on their ground will become commonplace for all of you who decide again."

"So congratulation again and I wish you all the best on your time here.". With that the students gave the headmaster an ovation and left the auditorium. The day involved the students going to their different classes and meeting their professors. Members of each team had the same class schedule. After classes were done for the day the team leaders had a separate meeting. Once the meeting was done they were released for the day.

"I thought being a team leader would be me leading my team against a horde of Grimm, not having to do paperwork." Ruby said to Jaune as they walked to the dorm.

Jaune had a smirk across his face. "You really thought that?"

"Yeah, I never remember my dad or my uncle talking about having to do any of this?"

"Welcome to the dark secret of being a huntsman, paperwork."

"I guess." Ruby looked at the students, noticing that they were passing glances at the two of them. "Hey, is there something on my face? It seems like people are looking at the two of us.

Jaune sighed. "No, it's me. It happened as soon as everyone found out that Pyrrha and I became teammates."

"Huh, so everyone is jealous because you are teamed up with the celebrity?" Ruby asked.

"Pretty much." Jaune got the door for her as the entered the dorm. "We've been partners for less than a week but at least we seem to be getting along."

Ruby sighed. "That's good. My partner barely talks and I think she hates everyone."

"It can just take a while for some people to open up.". Jaune arrived at his room. " Well, if you need any help with your paperwork, let me know.

"Thanks." Ruby walked to the next door over. Inside Weiss was sitting on her bed reading. "So where is Yang and Blake?"

"Dinner" Weiss said without looking up from her book.

Ruby put her stuff down on her desk. "Have you eaten yet? We can go and get something to eat together."

"No thank you, I already ate." Weiss said.

"Ok" Ruby said as she left the room. Going to the cafeteria she met up with Yang and Blake.

"Hey sis. So how was your first meeting?"

"Paperwork, so much paperwork to fill out by tomorrow. I just want to get something to eat before I have to do it." Ruby said.

"I'll join you if you want?" Yang asked.

Ruby smiled. "That would be great."

"Mind if I join you two then?" Blake asked.

"Sure. I mean we are teammates." Ruby said as they all headed to the cafeteria. "I asked Weiss if she wanted to join me but she didn't even look up from her book when she answered me."

"I guess that is why you became teammates with her, your optimism counteracts her…" Yang was thinking of a way of describing Weiss. "Her cynicism?"

"I think that is the nicest way to explain her". Blake said.

"Well, this is just our first week. Jaune said it takes a while for some people to open up so maybe she just needs to time." Ruby said. Yang and Blake nodded in agreement but their faces showed that they didn't think that it was likely.

Friday came and with it the students were tested in each of their classes to get an assessment of where they were academically. Just like on Thursday the team leaders had a meeting with Ruby arriving back at the dorm after her teammates. This time Blake and Yang were waiting for Ruby before going to get dinner. They asked Weiss is she wanted to join them but she declined.

Saturday morning Wiess woke up while the sun was still below the horizon to get her morning workout in. Once she was done she showered and changed and went to get breakfast at the school cafeteria. One of things she liked about the school was the cafeteria always had food ready for students, granted it was set up as a buffet but it mattered little to her. After breakfast she made her way to the landing pad so she could catch a transport into the city.

Walking across the campus she saw Ozpin walking, seeing that he was by himself she ran over to him. "Excuse me headmaster, could I talk to you for a minute?"

Ozpin smiled. "Of course Weiss, what would you like to discuss?"

"Why was Ruby made the leader of our team? She showed no leadership potential during our test. When it came to the paperwork she needed to do she was scrambling to finish it Friday morning. She doesn't show any aptitude or desire to do the job correctly." Weiss asked.

Ozpin walked over and sat down at a nearby bench. "Simple, because she is bad at it."

"Excuse me?"

"Ruby has an enormous amount of raw potential, more than I have seen in any other student in quite a number of years. This is why she was allowed to come to Beacon two years early. When it comes to fighting Grimm individually she will be one of the best huntsman if not the best of her generation. Because of this she could be a disaster to work with as she can fight by herself but not in a team. This is a school so she can have the chance to learn how to work with others and the best way is to have her be in charge of a team."

"Don't worry, you and your other team mates will get the chance to be in charge as well when it comes to doing field exercises as well as other tasks she'll normally be taking care of. Making it something she has to deal with on a daily bases will help her improve in the area she needs the most help with."

"When it came to the test you did a great job of taking charge. But you have always been someone who was raised to be that way. Something that you need to learn is not just how to take orders but also how to explain your ideas to those who are in charge. Being the leader is difficult but learning to follow can be even more so. "

"In your case fighting Grimm is your biggest weakness. You are quite capable when it comes to fighting people but when it comes to Grimm one-on-one it is an area that you are lacking. Instead of spending your time with paperwork you can focus on improving your skills with fighting Grimm. It also will allow you more free time, especially on the weekends.

Weiss's scroll beeped at her, pulling it out she saw the alarm she set was going off. "I need to go. Thank you for your time headmaster". She went and ran off to the landing pads as Ozpin got up and headed towards his office.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

"I can't believe Weiss had already left before any of us got up". Ruby said as the got off of the airship. "I mean this is our first weekend, I thought we could spend it together."

Blake shrugged. "The only way she would come with us is if he tied her up."

Yang put her arm around Ruby's shoulder. "Don't worry about it. So, where do we all want to go first? I've been in Vale over the summer so I know a lot of great places."

Blake turned to the two of them. "There is a bookstore that I want to go to. I finished up the last book in the series I was reading and I need something else to start with."

Ruby and looked at each other and nodded in agreement. "Sounds good to me, lead the way."

A short while later they found the book store that Blake wanted to go to. Going inside the girls were greeted by the owner. "Hi there, is there anything in particular you are looking for today?"

"I just finished 'In the Grove' but I'm looking for something like it?" Blake asked.

"Something like that book. Hold on, let me ask someone what they would suggest." The owner walked past some shelves and talked to one of his employees, a minute later he came back with Weiss following him.

The three of them stared at Weiss as she looked back at them. "You work here?" Blake asked.

"Yes, I do. Here is 'Leopold' by Stephen Dedalus, it is a modern retelling of the 'Journey' by Casar." Weiss handed Blake a copy of 'Leopold' and went back to where she was working. The girls went up to the register and the owner rang up the book.

"So, I take it you three know Weiss?" the owner asked.

"Yeah, we are all going to Beacon together. She never told us she was working?" Ruby said.

"I wouldn't take it personally she doesn't talk that much but she is rather knowledgeable when it comes to books."

Ruby looked over where Weiss was, making sure she wasn't looking over. Not seeing her Ruby leaned towards the owner. "How long has she been working here?" She asked in a soft voice.

"Around six months." He said back gently.

"Do you know anything else about her? Where she came from, her family, what she likes to do?"

The owner shook his head. "Sorry, I have no idea. Ozpin, the headmaster for your school is the one who sent her my way. The only thing I know is she likes to read."

"What about her face, have you ever seen it?"

The owner shook his head. "No, in fact no one here has seen it."

Ruby sighed but gave the owner a smile. "Ok, well thank you."

"No problem. I home to see you all again soon." He said as the girls left the store. Going outside the walked by the windows that looked inside the building and saw Weiss stacking books.

The sun had just gone down when Weiss arrived back at the academy. As soon as she got off of the airship she headed to the cafeteria for dinner. Once she was done she headed back to her room, going inside she saw that her team mates had ordered dinner.

"Hey, are you hungry? We decided to order out for dinner but there is more than enough for you." Ruby said.

Weiss went over to her dresser and started to get out her shower items. "I already ate dinner at the cafeteria."

"Are you sure, you don't have to chip in." Ruby said but Weiss didn't care she finished getting her stuff and headed to the door.

Yang stood up. "Hey, you don't have to be such a frigid bitch."

Weiss stopped and turned and stared at Yang, her eyes were narrow and unblinking. "I would apologize for being this way but that would imply that I did something wrong. I am quite aware that I am not someone who is easy to get along with. I am not used to people taking pity on me or sympathetic to any problems I might have. If you don't like this than I could care less, this is who I am, who I was supposed to be. Just know that when it comes to us fighting Grimm I will do my best." With that Weiss left the room.

Yang sat down and the three looked at each other. "That is the most she has ever said to any of us."

Ruby looked down at the floor. "Yeah"

Yang put her hand on Ruby's shoulder. "Hey, it wasn't your fault"

"It isn't that, I feel bad for her. She said that the way she was supposed to be. Maybe she was raised to be this way?"

Yang looked at her. "That makes some sense but you would think if she knows that she wouldn't act that way."

"It isn't easy to change" Blake said. "You can know something is bad but to fix it isn't easy. If it has been that way for your entire life, then you may never be able to do anything about it, you want to change but you are fighting yourself." Blake looked and saw that Ruby and Yang were both staring at her. "Don't worry, I'm not talking about myself. I knew someone who was getting in his own way."

"It makes you wonder what she went through to be like this." Ruby said. The girls didn't talk about Weiss after that. When she came back to the room she didn't say anything, just putting her stuff away and reading a book until she went to bed.

The next day Weiss's routine was the same as the day before. Getting back to the room Blake was the only one in there. Laying on top of her bed she was reading the book that Weiss had suggested. Seeing her enter the room she put her book down. "Thanks for recommending this book, I've heard of it but I never got around to reading it."

Weiss looked up at Blake. "You're welcome."

Jumping down from the bed Blake walked over to her. "I don't know what your life was before this, so I can't be certain about this, but I doubt we are like some of the people that you had to deal with. We are just trying to get along with you, if you want to keep your distance I get that but if we accidently get too close please don't push us away."

"I promise nothing, but, I'll try." Weiss said.

Blake smiled. "Thanks".

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

The building wasn't near the ocean but its height made it where you could see it, if you were on one of the higher floors. Looking out a man was smoking a cigar on his balcony, enjoying the mixture of the salty ocean air and the sweet aroma of his cigar. His view was abrupted by the sound of the intercom calling him. The guest he was waiting for had arrived and was on his way up. Putting out his cigar he went inside and closed the door. Going into the living room he waited for his guest. There was a knock on the door and one of his associates as well as his guest entered.

"My apologizes for not coming to meet you sooner Mr. Torchwick. I'm Mr. Fennec, one of Adam's lieutenants.". The two men shook hands as Torchwick's associate left the room. The man took off his hat, revealing a large pair of dusty orange ears, undoing the back of his coat a rather long a fluffy tail came out. Torchwich gestured to a chair which the man put his bag beside before sitting down.

"So, can I offer you something to drink?" Torchwick asked.

"Whatever you are having. So how are things going here, I'm guessing rather smoothly?"

Torchwick poured two drinks and handed one to Fennec. "Abrasive is how I would put it."

"Abrasive, really? The train heist you did three months ago was perfect. Adam himself was utterly impressed with how well it went."

Torchwick took a sip of his drink. "I'll be honest with you. The only reason we are doing things the way you want them done is due to how much you are paying us. Because of that security in the capitol has been even tighter. Not only that we could have easily gotten the same amount of dust through my normal channels."

Fennec took a sip of his drink. "As you were told before, it wasn't just about the dust, that robbery was also us sending a message."

"I remember that, but who was the message to? The Schnee Dust Company because the amount you took isn't going to put a dent into their sales. The train company, because thanks to it security is tighter making normal smuggling even more difficult. I have problem with a message being sent but in this case it is causing me and other more problems."

Fennec smiled. "I understand the issues that you are facing but this is part of the reason we are paying you as much as we are. As far as the message goes you'll find out but even I don't know and I report directly to Adam. Besides issues with normal smuggling, how is the recruiting going?"

"As well as can be expected." Torchwick got up and picked up a folder off of the table and handed it to Fennec. "Thankfully we got enough people through before the train heist, if it wasn't for that then things would be behind schedule."

Fennec opened up the folder and looked at the first page that had an overview of the number of people and positions that they held. "Adam was right on having you handle this, he will be quite pleased.". The man put the folder into his bag and handed Torchwick a different folder. Taking the folder he saw that there were seals on it. "Open that as soon as you are able to, they have your new instructions."

Torchwick got up and put it on the table that had the previous folder on it. "So, anything else that needs to be discussed?"

"Yes" Fennec turned to the hallway he came through. "Could you three please come in.". Out from the hall three people emerged, two women and a man. "These three will be acting as another set of eyes and ears for us. I wanted you all to me as you might be needing their help and vice versa."

Torchwick looked the three of them over as he got up. "All three of them are human. I thought you would want to have some fanus as your spies?"

Fennec finished his drink and smiled. "It wouldn't do the Red Claw any good if we had known members spying in the capitol. The man's name is Mercury, the woman with the green hair is Emerald and the woman with the black hair is Cinder. Their orders will come from me but if you are in a pinch feel free to ask them for help."

"Thank you for the thought. Well if this is it I need to look over what Adam has planned next. My associate will see you out of the building." Torchwich walked them to the hall where the man who brought them up was waiting for them. Once they were out of the room he took his glass and tapped it twice. The glass that Fennec didn't move but the sound of someone tapping it four times came from it. "Find out what you can about those three. I've never seen them before but if they are taking orders from Fennec then I should".

There was only a slight sound in the room, intentionally caused by someone walking to Torchwich. He felt someone giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Make sure to take care of yourself.". He felt a couple taps on his hand letting him know that she would.
