A warm, tropical sunlight poured through the hotel bedroom windows on a bright morning as two individuals awoke in bed after an eventful night, world hero Sonic the Hedgehog and his beautiful fiancée, British archeologist Lara Croft, looked into each other's eyes and smiled as they shared a tender and romantic kiss.

"G'mornin', British beauty." Sonic said.

"Mornin' to you too, handsome hedgehog." Lara replied.

Both adventurers got out of bed and put on a pair of fresh clothes, especially since Sonic and Lara had spent the night having sex together as a way to rejoice their engagement last night. Then they washed up and said good morning to Chara, Lara's pet Chao, who'd spent all night sleeping in the bathroom while the duo made love to each other.

"I'd like to thank you for respecting our privacy, little one." Lara said as she gave Chara a little hug and a soft kiss on the forehead.

"Chao, chao!" The brown and dark-green Chao replied, cooing happily.

Sonic and Lara left the hotel room together with Chara, having decided to go explore and meet up with their friends before they had anything to eat. "So?" The speedster asked, "When are we gonna tell Oskar?"

"We'll tell him when we do so." Lara answered, "Maybe we'll text 'im later. Until then, we'll just tell Tails and Sarah."

Just as the two adventurers and the Chao were heading out the door, Lara and Sonic passed by Pooh just as he was mopping the marble floor. When he saw them, he chuckled and waved good morning to the two, Sonic and Lara walked outside and were greeted by a warm tropical breeze on their faces as the sun shone down upon them.

Sonic's quills rippled and his fiancée's hair blew in the wind that blew in their direction, her engagement ring seemed to gleam radiantly in the morning sunlight. The duo left the hotel behind them for now and walked along the sidewalk, taking in the sights around them.

Visiting the island felt like a great experience, Sonic and Lara could not wait to explore more places together in the future. A couple of human islanders and anthropomorphic animal vacationers waved at the two adventurers as they passed, many of them took their time to compliment the cuteness of the dark-green Chao accompanying the duo.

Both male hedgehog and his human fiancé held hands and took their time to take in the tropical air along with the scenery some more as they crossed the street, watching out for any cars that were coming as Chara hummed happily. They walked down a dirt path leading up to a grassy hill, which had an incredible view of the island.

Just as Sonic, Lara and Chara were ascending the hill, they bumped into Sonic's friend Tails and the two-tailed fox's girlfriend Sarah Ann Vulpine, who were carrying picnic baskets.

"Morning, Sonic?" Tails said with delight as Sarah waved, "We were gonna have a picnic, care to join us?"

"Well, we didn't eat breakfast yet, so sure." The speedster replied, "Hope ya got chili dogs, besides, that would be quite a tubular way to rejoice after the big one last night."

"Chao chao, chao!" Chara agreed.

"We do have chili dogs." Sarah said, "Also, what happened last night?"

Lara held up her hand, showing the golden engagement ring on her finger, and Sonic explained what happened. Soon as the news was broken, Sarah squealed with delight and hugged Lara excitedly. Tails pumped his fist and pat Sonic on the shoulder. "Awesome job, Sonic." He said, "I knew you'd pop the big question soon."

"This. Is. AMAZING!" Sarah grasped Lara's hands, "We're going to dress up and everything will be so neatly planned, you're gonna have a white gown and I might be the flower girl. Oh, the wedding is going to be perfect once it happens, you and Sonic will be so cute together."

"Sarah, take it easy." Lara told the excited fox girl as she tried to calm her down, "My handsome fiancé JUST proposed and we haven't started making wedding plans yet, so why don't we wait a while and get to work later? Blimey, you're just as energetic like one of me friends on New Year's."

"Chao!" Chara cooed in agreement.

The group made their way to a sweet spot in the middle of the grassy hill once they'd calmed down and started preparing the picnic spot, Tails got out the picnic blankets and the plates while Sarah got out all the chili dogs and all the food that she could get from the basket.

Both Tails and his girlfriend counted how much food they had for them to eat, the two foxes had eight chili dogs to eat while Sonic got two, Lara got one and Chara got two. Plus, they had plenty of juicy meat and drinks to go along with their picnic.

As everybody sat down to eat, Tails looked at Sonic and Lara, his mind was on getting started with wedding plans sooner than later. "So?" He asked, "Where should the wedding take place, guys? Any ideas?"

Lara had to think about that as she munched on some meat after eating her chili dog, then she took a drink. Once she was done chewing and drinking, she said, "Now that you mentioned it, maybe we could have the wedding in Rome. I do love Italy after all."

"I visited Italy once," Sonic remarked, "But I never went to Rome. I only saw the other cities, I guess I was a bit too busy to visit Rome. Looks like we can make up for that when we do go there, the city does look like it's the perfect place to have a wedding. I'd be delighted to meet the pope himself."

"Ok, who should be on the guest list?" Sarah pondered as she took Tails' hand, "It's obvious that me and Tails will be there as the best man and the flower girl or maid of honor respectively. But, if I'm the flower girl, who could be maid of honor?"

"Simple," Lara answered, "I'm thinking about invitin' my friend Teresá over from Yoha, we are best friends after all. Maybe we could invite over a couple of my other friends from my travels and archeology exploits too. There are a few folks I haven't seen in ages, so, uh, yeah."

The group ate their meal and washed it down with wine and water before digging into some bread, feeling nourished than ever before as they agreed to plan out the big day later. Sonic and Lara raised a glass to each other and then to the fox couple.

Tails and Sarah raised their glasses to the engaged couple and took a sip while Chara fluttered around happily, as they continued to eat, Sonic looked at the horizon in thought while hoping the future would be bright with no villains there to hijack his wedding day. Little did the quartet know of what was to come as mysterious figures observed from afar...
