(This story takes place after Hiccup has made the new tail for Toothless, its kind of like the scene in the movie where the couple has their first flight together, but I am making a totally different take on it.)
It was a stormy and chilly evening in New Berk, the wind was sweeping through the trees causing them to sway back and forth, lighting was crackling through the dark clouds, and thunder would crash loudly at various times. Even with the storm going on outside, all of the Vikings and their dragons were sleeping soundly, well pretty much everyone was.
At the folds of Chief Hiccup's tent, a silent figure was looking out into the night, this was Toothless, the mighty alpha hero. He scanned his eyes across the horizon, clearly searching for something. "Its been a few days since I saw Luna" he said with a low rumble "I am one hundred percent sure that I impressed her with my drawing, I wonder why she hasn't come to find me in a while." He glanced down sadly at his paws and sighed "Maybe I should go find her, I miss seeing my princess."
Toothless turned and gazed soundly at Hiccup, who was peacefully sleeping. A smile slowly graced across his face "I don't know when I will see you again my friend" he said softly "you are so important to me, but right now I must find my girlfriend." He walked over to the bed, leaned down, and carefully and quietly nuzzled Hiccup's cheek. After he had done this, he walked over to the entrance to the tent, opened his wings, checked his new tail, and then took flight into the dark clouds.
Immediately the wind and rain were upon him, Toothless pumped his wings fast and hard, trying to avoid being blown away by the heavy storm. "whew, I did not expect this to be as crazy to fly in!" he said as he swooped and soared through bolts of lighting and fierce threatening clouds. "I really hope I stumble upon Luna soon, or my strength might just give out." The Night Fury proceeded to let out a screeching roar, hoping that the Light Fury would somehow pick up the sound.
Meanwhile, just a couple miles away, Luna was gliding through the stormy skies. She had also decided to search for her new boyfriend and she was deeply hoping to find him. "I can't believe I found myself a mate." she chuckled slightly to herself "my parents never expected me to find someone, but I did, guess I proved them wrong." She continued to scan the sky, her blue eyes peeled, ears perked for any random dragon sounds. Suddenly a roar echoed through the clouds and she glanced up. "Toothless?" she answered with a loud roar of her own.
Toothless was just about to give up his search, he was tired, his wings were starting to get sore, and it was downright cold outside. He perked his ears up one more time, desperately hoping to hear Luna's cry, and low and behold, he heard her! "Luna? he roared loudly "Is that you?" The excited fury leaned down and soared as fast as a speeding bullet towards the sound. He reached a cloud bank, and there, poking her head out, was the beautiful Light Fury.
Toothless grew a huge, dorky smile and glided gently "why hello there gorgeous." he announced "you have just found your handsome hunk of a dragon." This caused Luna to giggle, she gently knocked her body against his in a somewhat playful slap and said "it appears I did, and I could not be happier." she beamed at him and looked up at the lighting filled sky. "what say you and I go for a romantic flight?" she proclaimed, giving Toothless a seductive look.
"I would like that very much." The alpha said, giving his princess a seductive look back. Luna flicked her tail out, gliding it across the night fury's face "well come on then." she said charmingly "lets fly!" The two dragons soared into the clouds, they chased each other, linked tails and paws and did creative spins and twirls, and they both tried to impress the other with various fireballs and other little tricks.
The Light Fury glanced behind her and said loudly through the storm "Toothless, can you disappear like I can?." As she said this, she shot a plasma blast and flew through it, her body vanishing as she did so, when she reappeared she rumbled at Toothless, asking him to try. The Night Fury smiled, also shooting a blast and proceeding to fly through it, but he did not vanish. "No Luna, I can't do that trick, I don't know how." "Try again" the patient female said, giving him a reassuring look. Toothless stopped in flight, arched his body, and began to soak up the lighting around him, he roared loudly, glowing bright blue. Out of nowhere, the male disappeared into thin air. When he reappeared, he was gasping for breath "I I I, I did it babe." he said, almost passing out. Luna glided underneath him and pushed him up in support "I am so proud of you" she said sweetly, as she began again to fly upwards. Toothless followed her immediately, excited to see what would happen next.
Finally, the happy couple were as high as they could go, they had flown out of the storm and they could see the gleaming moon stretching its light on them. Toothless turned to look into the eyes of Luna. "Gosh" he said with a smirk "you are the prettiest dragon I have ever laid my eyes on, I must be the luckiest fury in the entire world." Luna blushed and got as close to Toothless as she dared, and placed a gentle lick on his cheek. "and you my king, are the most handsome dragon I have ever seen, I am the lucky one for sure." Toothless blushed all the way from his face to his tail, he put a paw out, gently touched Luna's face, and leaned in and kissed her sweetly. (yes, this is something a dragon would normally not do, but I am having fun with this story.)
The Light Fury was very surprised by this, and she pulled away from Toothless "what was that? I have never experienced something as weird as that before." The Night Fury was a bit embarrassed, and looked down at the ground sheepishly "that was a kiss, I have seen my human friend do it with his girlfriend many times, I am sorry I did not mean to gross you out." Luna laughed lightly "don't worry babe, I am not grossed out, I just thought it was a bit odd, that's all." she put her neck out, and cradled it against Toothless' shoulder "I still love you, no matter how dorky or interesting you are."
After they cuddled for a while in mid flight, Luna looked down and said to her mate "do you want me to show you my home?" Toothless nodded with excitement in his green eyes "yes, I would love to see where you live!" Luna grabbed his paw and exclaimed "well, come on then. lets go!." The two dragons then flew across the lake, to a glorious place known as The Hidden World.
