1. He'd cried when Percy left. Sure, he'd always known his older brother was a prat, but he'd never expected him to leave. Only Fred knew about it, and instead of teasing him, he held his twin wordlessly and wiped away his tears. He was looking uncharacteristically somber himself.
2. On the day his class were facing their boggarts, he feigned illness. He knew exactly what it would turn into, and he was anxious about how he'd react. He didn't want to break down in front of everyone.
3. During their sorting, he went up when McGonagall called Freds name. The hat knew straight away of course, and he ran back grinning. Straight away the proffesors knew they were trouble.
4. Quidditch was his way of venting his feelings. There was something oddly therapeutic about hitting those bludgers, soaring through the air on his broomstick, and the roar of the crowd. So when Umbridge banned him from that, he knew it was time to leave.
5. He was never quite the same after Fred was killed. He acted as he had before the war. He told people he was doing alright. But he wasn't the same, he wasn't alright, and he never would be.
