Prologue

For centuries, werewolves and vampires had been bitter rivals to the core. Vampires are innately evil with one goal in mind: to enslave the human race and feast on their blood. Werewolves on the other hand, believed that feeding on humans in an inhumane manner was cruel and diabolical. And so, they have dedicated their lives to fighting off vampires and protecting humankind.

However, Rose Quartz; the leader of the werewolf clan thought that there could be a better way to protecting humans, one that didn't involve killing off vampires. She told the vampires that even though humans were defenseless in strength and power compared to themselves, they were no different than vampires or werewolves. The vampires were also encouraged to find an alternative for human blood in order to satisfy their hunger. Those who converted to Rose's philosophy transformed dramatically. Their eyes changed from a bloodthirsty red to a sunshine gold. Not to mention that the sunlight could no longer destroy them which gave them healthy colored skin. And they obviously lost their taste for human blood.

Unfortunately, not every vampire had abandoned their bloodthirsty nature. One male vampire named Jasper, who was also known as the self-proclaimed king of vampires led a group of followers to fight against the werewolves and vampire rebels. However, the vampire loyalists were greatly outnumbered and were forced to retreat into the shadows. During their self-imposed exile, Jasper chose to bide his time for a prophecy was afoot.

Legend has it that in the future, a human girl would be born with a rare gift: the power of light. The vampire king also heard rumors that this gifted girl was also exceptionally beautiful which grabbed his attention. That was what he needed. If Jasper could claim this girl to be his bride, her light powers would give him and his followers the edge they needed to defeat their enemies.

Sure, it would take a century or two before this legendary girl would be born, but vampires were fortunate to be immortal. And Jasper had all the time in the world to wait for his chosen one.
