RWMtB: Ever After

Seth and Sarah: First Date

Sarah looked at herself nervously in the full-length mirror in her room, wondering if she looked okay or if she should change her outfit. Tonight was the night that Seth was taking her out on a date, her first date! She was so excited about it and so anxious as well. She really wanted the date to go well because she liked Seth so much. And who knows? If things continued to go well following, maybe—just maybe—they would end up dating for real, and she could finally call herself Seth Clearwater's girlfriend.

Bella stepped into her daughter's room, J.J. on her hip and smiled as she looked at her saying, "Sarah, you look beautiful!"

"Really?" Sarah asked turning to her mother before turning back to the mirror. "It's not too much?"

She was wearing a coral colored dress that stopped just above her knees, the skirt flaring and had a square neckline with straps that left her arms bare. Of course, she planned on wearing a jean jacket to compliment the dress and she had black wedge sandals that fastened around her ankles on her feet. Her short hair was curled with a cute sparkly headband in it. She loved that headband because Seth had gotten it for her for her when she was fourteen for apparently no reason at all, other than the fact he said it looked like her when he saw it in the store. She wanted to look presentable, but not like she was trying too hard.

"No, it's perfect," her mother replied with a smile. "Isn't it, J.J.?"

J.J. smiled at his sister and giggled, causing her to smile sweetly at him. Before she could say anything, there was a knock on the front door, soon followed by Jacob's voice greeting Seth. Chocolate brown eyes widened before looking into matching ones nervously. Bella smiled reassuringly at her daughter before saying, "You'll be fine. Now, go have fun with Seth tonight."

Nodding, Sarah grabbed her jean jacket and crossbody purse. Grabbing her cellphone, she placed it in the purse with her wallet and housekey before zipping it shut. Taking a deep breath, she left her bedroom and headed down the hall until she reached the living room where her father and Seth were waiting. Their eyes drew to her immediately upon her entrance, and as Seth's eyes widened in awe and a smile bloomed on his face, Sarah's nervousness melted away and she couldn't help but think that tonight was going to be a good one.

Their date so far had been great. Seth hadn't done a traditional first date like going to dinner and a movie. Rather, he had taken her to Port Angeles to play a very intense game of laser tag before playing mini golf and even roller-skating, something Sarah found she wasn't particularly good at. However, she enjoyed it nonetheless because she got to hold Seth's hand the entire time. After that they had walked along the streets of Port Angeles before stopping at a Mediterranean food truck for something to eat, and Sarah had convinced Seth to try a gyro for the first time, laughing when he ordered another one. Now though, their date was close to coming to an end, as Sarah had to be back home by eleven and it was going on ten-thirty.

Currently they were driving back to La Push, singing along with the radio that was playing The Killers' "Mr. Brightside" in loud, off-key voices. When the song ended, as well as their terrible karaoke, they burst into laughter and laughed heartily, Sarah saying through her laughter, "That was terrible."

Seth chuckled and replied, "It really was."

"But not the date, though. I had a real good time tonight, Seth."

The man let out a breath of relief. "Oh, thank goodness. I wasn't sure if you would like what I had planned out."

"I loved it." And she really had loved it, had really enjoyed herself with Seth on their first date. It warmed her heart to know that Seth was relieved that she had enjoyed herself, though also thought it cute that he was afraid she wouldn't like what he had planned.

Smiling sweetly at him, she reached over and took his large hand into hers, lacing their fingers together. Seth grinned over at her and gave he hand a gentle squeeze before turning to focus on the road, never once letting go of her hand as they fell into a comfortable silence.

Before she knew it, they were back in La Push and were pulling up in front of her home, five minutes before her curfew. They climbed out of the car and Seth walked Sarah up to the front door. Taking her housekey out of her purse, Sarah fiddled with it for a moment before looking up at the man saying, "Thank you, Seth. I know it might not seem like much, but tonight really meant a lot to me."

Seth smiled down at his Imprint and said, "Me too. So, just to be clear, you wouldn't be opposed to going out with me again?"

"Are…are you asking me out on another date?"

"Yes, and to the ones to follow as well."

Grinning brightly, Sarah giggled before nodding her head in agreement. She wrapped her arms around Seth's middle, hugging him and seemingly sinking herself into his large, warm frame. Seth wrapped his own arms around Sarah, holding her close and not wanting to let her go, but he had to as she they only had two minutes left. Releasing her, he gave her a sweet kiss on her cheek before saying, "Good night, Sarah."

Breathless from the kiss, she managed to breathe out, "Good night."

Sarah waved after Seth as he got into his car before putting her key in the lock and entering her home. She heard Seth pull away and drive off as soon as he was sure she was inside the house before shutting and locking the door back. Leaning against the door, she slid down it with a goofy smile on her face, biting her lower lip as she thought about the fantastic date she had just been on. Giggling and letting out a happy squeal, she covered her face as a bright blush covered it, her thinking of how Seth's lips felt pressed against her cheek. She couldn't believe it. She not only got another date with Seth, but she also got a kiss from him! She was so happy, she didn't think anything could bring her down and knew that after this first date, all her following dates with Seth would be amazing.
