Chapter 4 Reunited

Ren's POV

"This is for the best."

That was a lie. There was no way that being without Nora was 'for the best.'

Because of this, I left the home I had been taken to the same night Nora was taken away from me. We had already been apart for far too long.

I remembered the social workers saying the name of the home Nora was going to be taken to and, despite the fact that I was only eleven, I managed to find where it was on a map.

I began making my way towards it, but a week into my travels...something happened.

I had arrived at a train station...when I noticed someone sitting down on the other side of the glass.

It was...Nora!

"Nora", I yelled getting her attention.

She looked in my direction...and was surprised when she saw me.

"Ren", she yelled as she ran up to the glass.

Then...we both started running until we reached the entrance, where we met in a tight embrace.

"Ren", Nora started. "You're here."

"So are you", I pointed out before breaking the hug. "What are you doing here Nora?"

"I was on my way to the place those mean social workers took you to", Nora revealed.

"You were", I asked in shock. "But how did you even know where it was?"

"I over heard the social workers say what it was called and managed to find it on a map", Nora replied. "But how about you Ren? What are you doing here?"

"Doing the same thing as you", I replied. "I was on the way to the place they had taken you to, and I found it the same way you found out where I was."

"I'm so glad that we found each other", Nora said.

"I am too", I agreed.

And then...I started crying.

"Ren", Nora said in concern. "What's wron..."

Nora's question was cut off by me hugging her.

"Ren", she started in concern. "Are you okay?"

"I'm sorry", I apologized.

"What", Nora asked in confusion. "What are you sorry for?"

"I'm so sorry I wasn't able to stop them from taking you away", I apologized.

And after I did...Nora punched me in the shoulder.

"Ow", I yelled out in pain. "What was that for?!"

"For being a big poopy head that's what", Nora replied. "Ren, what happened wasn't your fault! I know that you did everything you could to stop them from taking me, and when you weren't able to, you came all the way here to get me."

Before I could say anything else, Nora hugged me.

"Please don't blame yourself for this", she pleaded. "Please?"

"Okay", I said in defeat.

"Yay", Nora said happily. "Now that that's taken care of, what are we going to do now?"

"I don't know", I replied. "But wherever we go from here, we'll go together."

"Right", Nora agreed. "Because in sickness and in health..."

"...we'll share joy and pain."
