When she woke up later in the day she could feel someone watching her. Her eyes slowly opened to the angry looking demon at the end of her bed. "Crowley" she breathed with a start as she sat up a little. "Found your friend, puppet, he was dead in the alley of the bar." Tears stung at her eyes as she thought about her friend Zack. Deep down she knew it was likely he was no longer on this earth, but she was hoping for a different outcome. She dried her eyes and shook her head. "Why? Why me?" she whispered, swallowing thickly. "This is all my fault. I just wanted to go out and have fun. I got my friend killed. There was no point…no reason for all of this."
Crowley looked at the broken girl and shrugged. "Its life kiddo, unfortunately your name doesn't do you any favors." They were silent for a few moments before he spoke again. "That demon's long gone. I didn't think Dean would find torture as fun as he did. Little male bonding for us…" Kate held her hand up to stop him from talking. "Look. I think we should stop this." His eyes darkened as he moved closer to her. "Stop what, love? What exactly are you saying?" He knew exactly what she was saying and what she was wanting, but he didn't want that, especially not now.
His rising anger did nothing to calm her fears. "I just think we should cool it. Go back to how things were before we…" He leaned forward and punched the wall behind her, sending his fist clean through it. "I knew they were going to do this. Sam got to you, did he?" Kate was now terrified, not wanting anything to happen to Sam. She furiously shook her head, but her headache made her instantly regret it. "No. No. I th-thought of it. It's my thought." He huffed and shook his head.
She heard pounding on the door, but saw the door swing shut by Crowley, locking itself. "Kate! Are you okay? Kate! Let us in!" Sam yelled, pounding on the door, no doubt hearing Crowley yell and punch the wall. Her eyes went from the door, back to Crowley. "What do you want me to say?! I'm so torn. They're my brothers, they come first always. And they make good points; why would a demon care about a human like you do about me, why would a demon care for a hunter, why would the king of hell remotely be interested in a Winchester romantically? It doesn't make sense Crowley!" She was now standing up and yelling at him, her voice carrying to the hallway. Crowley was so transfixed on her that his mind had the door left open and forgotten now, letting the brothers move into protection mode.
"Don't you dare. I risked everything to be with you, defended you when it would mean costing me everything! Killed one of my own last night for you!" he yelled, his voice echoing off the walls. It was then that Castiel was back from a mission and heard the commotion going on, walking in to see if he could help. The two brothers were on either side of Kate now and Castiel was on Crowley's side, ready to attack him if need be.
Kate had tunnel vision, only focusing on Crowley and not even remotely aware of anyone else right now. "If I'm such a burden to you, then leave! Someone else already got a taste of this, so it's not like I'm anything special, not like I ever was." Her words kept spilling out with no filter, just over everything at the moment. "Everything I do turns to shit! I want to have fun, but I get my friend killed, get raped…" At this, Castiel took an angry step forward, but was calmed when Dean shook his head and held his hand up to stop him. "…I'm just tired. And I want you to leave. Please leave, Crowley." His jaw was set and he glared daggers at her. "Whatever you wish, love." With that he was gone and Kate was reduced to a puddle of emotions, crying into her hands. She felt arms around her but didn't know or care who's they were. "Everyone leave…please" she said softly, pulling away and heading back into her bed. Once she felt the presence of everyone gone, she buried her face in the pillow and cried.
