"Wait, what? You've got to be kidding me?!" Clark asked, his father only shaking his head in response.

"No son, I'm not. My name isn't Jonathan Kent, or at least that wasn't the name I was born with. My given name was Jason. Your mother's was Kat, and she was the original pink ranger." He said, smiling fondly at his wife, who returned it before looking back at the teens, all of them attempting to wrap their heads around what they had just been told.

"Twenty years ago, I found myself teleported to the Command Center, along with your mother and our friends Zack, Billy and Trini. There we met a being named Zordon, who told us that we had been chosen to protect this planet against Lord Zed and Rita Repulsa. Most of us thought he was insane or delusional. We ended up walking out, but changed our minds when some of Rita's putties attacked us."

"These putties wouldn't happen to be gray-skinned halloween rejects would they?" Kara asked, remembering the goons she and the other Ranger's had had to fight. Jonathan nodded his head in response, a worried look coming over his face as he thought of how his son and his friends had been forced to take on the burden of being rangers; it was never a burden he had wanted anyone else to have to carry. Before his train of thought could continue a familiar beep sounded from the watches around the teenager's wrists.

"Yeah Zordon, go ahead." Tommy said, tapping his watch once.

"Tommy, you and the others must go to Angel Grove Park at once. Rita has sent down Goldar and a squad of putties to attack the populace."

"Twice in one day? That lady's got issues." Clark muttered, and the others nodded.

"All right Zordon, we're on our way." Tommy replied before cutting the connection.

"Dad-" Clark began as he looked at his father.

"I know son. Now go, but don't think we're done talking about this." He replied, and Clark nodded before tapping his watch, the other's doing likewise as they felt themselves be engulfed by energy before disappearing in beams of light.

"May the powers protect them." Kat whispered, and Jason nodded his head as he pulled his wife close, praying that the new Power Ranger's would be alright.

"That is one ugly freak show." Adam muttered as the Ranger's materialized in the park, finding themselves looking at a blue-skinned creature in golden armor.

"Yeah, now let's send him back to the circus." Clark said, and the Ranger's morphed, each of them striking a pose as the initial energy from their metamorphosis wore off.

The Ranger's attacked, striking at putties left, right and center, defeating the putties almost as easily as they had the first time. Suddenly the blue-skinned creature that they all assumed was Goldar pulled out a sword and raced at them, striking them all almost faster than the eye, causing them all to fall on their backs.

"That guy packs a punch." Clark muttered as he slowly stood to his feet, the other's doing likewise as they all attempted to avoid the pain they were feeling from Goldar's strikes.

"Well so do we, now let's get him." Kim said and as one the Zeo ranger's charged, hitting Goldar with a series of rapid punches and kicks pushing him back as they went. However, the minion of Rita and Zed twisted like a top, the gale force wind coming from his wings causing the Ranger's to fly through the air, barely managing to stay on their feet. They quickly moved to race at him to begin the battle anew, but then with a sinister smile Goldar disappeared.

"I don't like it."

"The fact that we almost got our asses handed to us for the second time in twenty-four hours or the fact that both times it was by freaks that look like they belong in a bad monster movie?" Adam asked, but Clark just shook his head.

"No, it was the look that Goldar had right before he left. Call it a hunch, but something tells me that the fight we had was staged."

"Really? Tell that to my aching muscles." Kara snapped, and Clark looked at the blonde in confusion.

"You shouldn't be hurting."

"What, you think just because I'm a girl I shouldn't be hurting? I'll have you know I fought just as hard as you." She replied hotly; on Krypton she had been talked down to because all the males in her school believed themselves superior and her father had absolutely forbidden her from learning to fight, saying that she shouldn't worry her pretty little head over it, and that she needed to let the men do all the work. She had absolutely hated being talked to like that and she swore that she wouldn't stand for it on Earth. After all, what did Kal-El know anyway? Zordon chose her to be the yellow Zeo ranger and she'd be damned if she was going to let Kal-El treat her as those boys on Krypton did.

"No Kara, what I mean is that you really shouldn't be hurting. The yellow sun has a different effect on Kryptonians than it does on humans. Under it's rays we gain strength and speed that would make us capable of stopping a dozen armies single-handedly and we become invulnerable from harm." He told her, leaving out the heat and x-ray visions, deciding he would cross that bridge when and if he had to. After all, the girls would just glare at him when he mentioned the x-ray vision and the guys would just ask if he'd peeked into the girl's locker room so he decided to keep those facts to himself for now.

Kara nodded once, feeling guilty about her words. Kal-El or Clark as he called himself on this planet, had merely been trying to help her and she had foolishly opened her mouth without bothering to think about what he might know that she did not.

"Which begs the question, why dosen't Kara have her powers, and for that matter Clark why don't you have yours?" Tommy asked, with a confused look on his face; Clark sighed before he decided to explain.

"To answer your first question Tommy, I have no idea why Kara dosen't have her powers. The answer to your second question is my biological father."

"Jor-El is alive?" Kara asked, but Clark shook his head before he answered her.

"No. The real Jor-El died with Krypton, but he sent an artificial intelligence that was supposed to help guide me and make me a hero. In reality he just wanted me to do whatever he said. He decided that if I wasn't going to do what I wanted and give up my life as Clark Kent, he would take my powers. I told him he could take his offer and shove it." Clark finished.

"Well I guess we both have a problem with our fathers." Kara muttered, placing her hand over his, both of them blushing slightly before moving their hands.

"I hate to break this up, but I think you all need to get some rest. You got put through the ringer today and you still have to go to school tomorrow." Jonathan said and they all groaned, making the former Rangers laugh.

"Welcome to the life of a power ranger." Martha told them with a grin before she took her husband's hand and they walked out of the room, leaving the teens alone again.

"Someone remind me why we agreed to be rangers?" Adam asked with another groan.

"Because we were told the Earth needed us." Tommy replied, making Adam groan again.

"I'll see you guys tomorrow." Kim said as she walked out the door, the others barely stopping themselves from laughing as they saw Tommy get up to follow her.

"Yeah, I'd better get going too. See you." Adam said, and he too walked out the door.

"Where do you think you're going?" Clark asked Kara, as she too stood up to leave.

"I'll go find someplace to crash for tonight." She told him, but Clark just shook his head in response.

"You're staying here, end of story." He told her, and her eyes widened in response.

" I can't impose..." She began but he cut her off.

"You're not imposing and you don't really have a choice. I fixed it with Zordon, and he and Alpha helped get you papers. You start Angel Grove High in the morning." He told her, pulling some papers from his pocket and handing them to her.

"Kara Danvers, I like it." She said and he smiled before blushing when she kissed him on the cheek.

"Thank you Clark. No one's ever been so kind to me."

"You're welcome. Your room's upstairs first door on the left." He said and she smiled again before beginning to walk up the stairs. She stopped about halfway up the stairs and turned back to look at him.

"Me living with you... this dosen't make us like sibling's does it?"

"I would most certainly hope not." He replied with a smirk; Kara nodded and resumed her ascent up the staircase, Clark watching the sway of her hips the entire time.

"Son, this isn't going to be a problem is it?" His father as he came back into the room.

"What me being a ranger or Kara living here?"

"Yes."

"No dad, that won't be a problem."

"Good, and Clark remember two things... you're the red ranger which means you're responsible for the safety of your teammates."

"I know dad. What was the other thing?"

"Don't try and be overprotective towards your girlfriend when you're in the field. It'll just make her mad."

"Dad! I just met Kara today!"

"Clark, take it from someone who didn't meet their wife until the day we became rangers... she may not be your girlfriend now, but it's only a matter of time, especially after you realize just how precious time is when you're risking your life day in and day out. Now get to bed, you've got a busy day tomorrow." He told his son before clapping him on the back and walking away, leaving Clark to head up the stairs, his mind racing with what his father had told him.

Unknown to the new red ranger, the subject of his discussion with his father had heard every word, and both teens fell asleep with smiles on their faces, both of them excited for what the future may hold.

"Kim, there's something I wanted to ask you. I've wanted to ask you for a long time." Tommy said, staring at the road in front of him as he drove towards Kim's house.

"Ok, ask away." Kim replied, unsure of where this was going; she had known Tommy for over a year and she had never seen her friend so nervous before.

"Do you want to go out sometime?" He asked finally, and for a moment she said nothing. Then the new pink ranger just laughed and smiled at him.

"Took you long enough." She whispered, making Tommy grin as he pulled into her driveway.

"So is that a yes?"

She didn't say anything; instead she just leaned over and kissed him softly on the lips.

"Yes." She told him when they separated before getting out of the car and walking into her house.

As Tommy and Kim slept with smiles on their faces, not unlike those on the faces of Clark and Kara, none of the Ranger's knew that Lord Zed was currently working on a plan that would make this night the last night of happiness the Ranger's would know for quite some time.
