What did he just say? He was being nice to me? Well, who cares if he'll buy me a drink. "Only if you buy me as many drinks as I want!" I told him coldly. I didn't bother looking 'ok'. I don't like Sans. Hell if I care what he thinks of me!
"Well if you insist I'll pry myself from my work." He said sarcastically as he walked towards me. "Come on my little alcoholic I know a shortcut." He gave me a nuggy as we walked in the opposite direction of Grillby's. When we stopped walking I looked around.
" How did we get here?!" We were somehow at Grillby's. The place was empty except for the fire bartender.
" Fast shortcut, huh? Let's just sit and chat." Did he forget about drinking? As we walked to the bar I reminded him of the most important thing.
"And drinks. Lots of drinks." I said with a bit of happiness. Sans sighed reluctantly as he got ready to order. When we sat at the bar I debated on cleaning myself up for Grillby. But what's the point if Papy saw through my act?
"Welp Grillby I'll have two beers and the kiddo will have a burg." I looked at him with excitement as I imagined how drunk I'll get tonight. I just wondered what he wants to talk to me about.
"Sans you know I'm about to close. But I'll make an exception for you two." Grillby said in a warm tone as he grabbed the beers. As he placed them on the counter I immediately tried to grab one. Sadly Sans got a hold of them first. Grillby went into the back to make the burger.
" Sans give me one." I said in an annoyed voice. He lied to me. I should be dead. If I die now where would I come back? Maybe I should die.
"Nope. Not yet Frisky you have to eat first." What? Eating wasn't part of the deal. Then again I haven't eaten in a day or two so I'll let it slide.
"Here's your food princess." Grillby said as he put the burger down in front of me. When he called me that I felt guilty for looking like this. I pulled off my hood, wiped my face, and I put on a smile.
"Thanks, Grillby!" I told him in a cheerful tone. The burger smelt so good. When I took a bite I felt the same type of warmth that I felt when Papy healed me. Oh no, I bet this will heal me. I dropped the burger on the plate and moved my right hand up my sleeve. The cuts were now scabbed over.
I should have known better. I hate myself. As Flowey would say I'm an idiot. If I eat this my cuts will disappear. But I can't be sober or I'll have to cut. I looked to Sans and he was still holding on to the bottles. I quickly went to a bottle. We were in a tug of war. Was he really strong or was I just weak? You're weak, a good for nothing deadbeat that's worse than her.
"Well if you wanted it so badly you could have just asked." He let go of the beer and I ended up splashing beer on myself. It got on Papy's jacket! He trusted me with this. Papy can't wear a jacket that smells like beer. I clenched the bottle as I thought about what to do.
"Sans are you sure it's a good idea to let Frisk drink?" As Grillby asked that reminded me that if I drink enough I'll forget. My mind will be silent. Without a second thought, I finished the bottle.
"Wooooo!" I said as I slammed the beer bottle onto the table. It felt like a weight was lifted and my face felt flushed. I forgot how fast their alcohol acts.
"Don't worry I have a plan." Sans said but what was his plan? Was it that type of plan ew pervert.
"You're disgusting! Grillby protect me." I moved to the seat over away from Sans. I did my best impression of crying. "I'll only forgive you if you give me another drink!" I'm so smart with my ultimatum. Sans pushed the burger towards me.
" I didn't mean it that way and if you want any more drinks you'll have to finish your food." Sans sounded like a Dad. Why is eating an important thing?
"You're not my Dad! Eating is not important." Dad, I miss him. My head felt heavy. Four years and it felt like an eternity. Dad was so happy and when I opened up I brought him down. I bring everyone down. I put my head on the bar. I felt a tear threaten to fall. No, no, no! I buried my head in my arms. If I cut maybe the pain will go away. I can't finish that burger.
"Are you ok kiddo?" I hate that question. Normally I'd play it off with a lie. But a girl almost crying in her arms isn't the happiest looking. Usually, I'd have some faith that it would be over. Some motivation to look 'ok'. I could be little miss perfect, bottle up everything till my next suicide attempt. Something I could hope for.
Here though I have no hope, I'm stuck. The one place I was able to finally die, Chara, would just bring me back. There is no just play along till tomorrow then it will be over. If I succeed I'll have to do the same thing again.
I could cut but I could die. I don't know how this 'H.P.' works. So I can't push myself to the limit. All the people here are all so sweet. Not to be self-centered but I literally have the power to play god. On top of that Sans remembers every time I die.
"It's ok sweetie." I heard Grillby's comforting voice. It's unfair to make him worry. I poked my head up and Grillby grabbed my chin and I heard a sizzle. "You don't need to cry. We could just talk it out." I was crying? I'm crying! I moved my head away from Grillby and pulled up Papy's hood. God these guys really know where I'm emotionally blind. I didn't know what to do. Then I remembered why I'm here. Sans wanted to talk to me.
"So Sans what did you want to talk about?" My voice, luckiy, didn't sound like I was crying. I tried to change the topic and I made a terrible transition. I wish I was fast enough to run away from here.
"Umm Frisky I don't think we should talk about that right now." Sans sounded standoffish. Look now I ruined the whole night!
"I should get going. Grillby's is getting closed up anyways." I said that letting out a small sob. Idiot I shouldn't have done that. This place is making me go soft.
"Wait kiddo. You still have this drink." Sans said as he passed over the second beer. "I was hoping you'd eat first to get your H.P. up but." I quickly drank the bottle. All the great feelings that come with drinking came back.
"Aww, Sansy ya know the way to my heart! Next drink." My confidence went up. I just need to keep drinking. Sans and Grillby shared a look. Sans was tapping his fingers on the bar. I scooched over to Sans and pulled his arm. He should have fun too right?
"Sansy you need to drink with me." I said in a whiny way.
"Welp Grillby you heard the lady." Did I hear him right? Well, now I have a drinking buddy.
"Princess, I got this drink from the surface, would you like to try it?" So amazing, Grillbz is so considerate!
"Yay! Sans are you ready to drink what we do on the surface?" I giggled as I watched Grillby pour the brown liquid into two clear cups.
"I'll try anything once." Sans said before he gulped down his.
"I love you Grillby." I pointed to the cup. "This is the best thing ever!" I said excitedly.
"I can't believe you got beer on Papyrus' jacket." Sans chuckled to himself.
"Ya, I bet Paps is gonna kill me." I said into my drink. Then I finished off my amazing drink and pushed the empty cup to Grillbz.
"Na he won't. I got it for him awhile back and he never wore it." He said sadly. No, he's looking pouty.
"Shots! Stop sounding sad Sansy." I said as I clapped my hands together. Grillbz began to pour a line up of shots.
"Say kiddo I've been wondering why'd ya jump into the lake? Especially with my bro being right in front of ya." He's not helping the mood. You know what, let's have some liquid courage before I answer that. I began to throw back shot after shot into my mouth. My memory got a little fuzzy.
"What did you ask me?" Sansy still hasn't drank his shots. He gave me a disappointed look.
" Why did you go into the lake in front of Papyrus?" Sans said angrily then he began to drink. Oh so now we're angry drinking.
"Well hmmm… I did it because things weren't going my way! I know it's selfish but a friend told me I had the power to play god. So ya know?" If I had to describe how I sounded I'd hate to say it but I sounded like a dumb blond. I got up and began to walk over to a jukebox! "Grillbz you should have told me you had one of these." Once I got over to the jukebox I tried to touch the button it was as if time stopped.
"Have you heard of a talking flower?" When he said that it sent shivers down my spine. His anger was off the charts. Sansy is such a buzzkill.
"You mean Flowey? The little yellow flower. I know him, he's the one who told me about my power to play god!" I tried to turn around but it was like I was frozen.
"W-what? That's funny." Sans chuckled to himself. Maybe the booze is finally kicking in. I was finally able to move. I looked over to Grillbz and he was dozing off in the corner.
"Hey, we should go." I whispered pointing to Grillby over Sans' shoulder.
"But this is the only bar." Sans is so simple-minded.
"Pff the world is our bar!" I felt lazier and draped myself on Sans.
"What happened?" Grillbz said sleepily as he rubbed his face. It's my fault I woke him up.
"Give me two beers and I'll be gone like poof!" Sans and I giggled at my sound effect. Grillbz looked a little concerned tell he looked like he came up with an idea. He put his hand out.
"Could you give me your phone?" He gave me a sleepy smile and I took my hands off of Sans to grab my phone. I felt around my pockets and I couldn't find it. Where is it? I ended up putting everything I had in my pockets on the bar before I could find my phone.
"Bingo here ya go!" I said putting the phone into his hand. I tried to quickly put the bones back into my pocket.
"So this is what you used." Sans said as he grabbed the bones with a drunken curiosity. I tried to pull them away but I was too weak.
"Grillby! Sans took my stuff!" Grillby seemed to finish doing what he was doing on my phone before he shifted his attention to us.
"Sans give it back," Grillby said sternly. I finished putting everything else in my pockets.
"But Gri-" Grillby cut Sansy off.
"Your drunk Sans just give it back." Grillbz sounded like a parent. Sans gave me back the bones and I quickly put them away. "Now when you two go out call me if you two get in trouble. Ok?"
"Sure." Sans and I said in unison.
"Could the kiddo and I get a drink for the road?" Sans is a genius. I nodded my head in agreement.
"You two are going to make me go bankrupt." Grillby told himself after he placed two beers on the counter. " Here you go, loves. Be safe."
"Night night Grillbz." I said waving goodbye. Sans and I grabbed our respective beers and we were off. We walked drunkenly through Snowdin arm and arm. By the time we made it to what Sans called 'Waterfall' we finished our drinks.
"Nooooo! Sans, I ran out of beer!" I said in defeat.
"It's ok." He laughed to himself. "I ran out of mine too. Yay!" We're both down.
"Sansy is there anything fun to do here?" He gave me a confused look.
"I-isn't this fun?" Sans sounded sad but still had that smile. "Na just kidding kiddo. There's a cool place coming up." He pulled down my hoodie as we walked into this grassy area.
"How can you look so hap-" Then Sans covered my mouth, chuckling pointing up. When I looked up I saw Papy with a guy in armor. I joined in on Sans' laughs. How was Papy hanging out with a guy like him? The armored man looked down on us.
"I'm walking here!" I said and our laughs erupted.
"I think we got her mad. We should run." Sans said between laughs. We stumbled out of the tall grass and I stepped on the side of my foot and I started to fall. I tried to stay up by pulling on Sans but we were both on the floor in no time.
"Wow Sans you're really falling for me." I said jokingly. Sans and I staggered up.
"Na, you're…" It looked like he was trying to think of a comeback. But he failed. "You're drunk kiddo." I gave him a pity laugh.
"Wait, you're a kid too? But you're not wearing a striped shirt." I looked over to see an armless yellow dinosaur. I'll show them. I started to take off my jacket and about halfway through I was stuck. "I'm going ahead to see Undyne." My hands were over my head. I tried to move my arms but I was stuck. Calm down, play it cool.
"Tada see my stripes!" Was I facing them? I began to walk forward.
"Slow down Frisky. They already left." Sans said, pulling down my jacket. I'm finally free. I grab Sans's shoulders.
" Thank you for freeing me! Now I can grant you three wishes." I said happily. I gave him a hug.
"Hey, walking is taking way too long. Could we just take a shortcut?" He said in a whiny way.
"Why not? But this place better be fun." I shrugged.
"Welp just walked forward and hold my hand." He put his hand out. I grabbed his hand with expectation of an adventure. I walked forward with my eyes closed. I felt him let go of my hand. I opened my eyes to look around. I saw a bench next to an entrancing blue flower. I walked closer to the flower and I could have sworn it said something.
I walked even closer and I heard it say "I just wasn't ready for the responsibility." It reminded me of my family. I sighed. The booze is wearing off.
"So how'd ya like it?" Sans said sprawling out onto the bench. I didn't know how to answer that question. So I lied down next to him on the floor. I leaned to my side and I saw a quiche. I immediately grabbed this abandoned quiche. This is like me. We were brought into this world but no one was ready for us.
"Why is there a quiche here?" I looked up to him, showing him this baked good.
"I don't know. I bet no one will eat anything from under a bench." Like me, I'm doomed to be alone.
" No, I can change this!" I shouted with conviction before I devoured the quiche. "See somebody did eat it." Sans' smile turned devilish. He began to chuckle to himself.
"Welp you proved me wrong." Sans said lazily. He'll always have a smile on.
" How do you always have a smile on? I tried to act for Papy and he saw right through me." I sat up to get a better look at his smile. When I thought about it, how are skeletons even able to smile?
"Are you sure you wanna know?" He said hesitantly, I nodded my head. "I just have a better audience than you." I gave him a confused look. His metaphors are gonna go over my head. "On the surface, you had people you cared about right?" I nodded my head. "Well, down here all you have is Grillby and Papyrus. You were good for Grillby tell you mentioned dads. So I'm betting you have some daddy issues." He pays attention to everything that's crazy. But 'Daddy issues' that must mean something different here.
"Eww don't call it 'Daddy issues' that means something different on the surface." I said backing up from him.
" Well anyway there are only two people you have to act for and you get lazy between sets. Unlike your 'Sansy' who has a lot more shows than you." He sounded like he thinks about this every day. "Since you made me spill my life story… What's yours, Miss wanna die?" He just called me that. Is that my defining feature?
"That's not my name! I can't even answer you. What do you wanna know anyways?" Sans thought for a minute. Who would even want to know anything about me?
"How about we start with why do you wanna act?" Why does he wanna know that?
"No?" I didn't sound sure of myself. I really don't wanna talk about this.
"Ok. That's all I wanted to know. Wanna sit on the bench?" Sans said as he made room for me. I sat down next to him and I rested my head on his shoulder. "Ya know I've tried showing my true feelings before. But then your friend Flowey reseted." I wish my mistakes could be reseted.
"You think that was bad? Well, I told my Dad about some of my sad feelings, and the next day he left. I wish my problems could be reseted."
"Really well how bout having to relive the same things over and over again." That's when this turned into a competition.
"True, true but what if it was my fault for making my brother work to the bone juggling taking care of me, my mom, and school."
"Or how about losing the only person that understood me because I was too lazy to go to work that day." Sans said resting his head on mine.
" I lost my boyfriend over self-harm." I can't believe I just said that. I covered my mouth. That's something only Suzy knows about.
"I have nightmares of all the things Flowey did before you were in control." My eyelids felt heavy.
"Ya know" I began to yawn a lot. "I don't really wanna die I just wanna stop thinking." I heard Sans snore and not long after I went to sleep.
