A/N: I do not own Smallville or X-men Evolution! Tell me what you think! Clark/Kara/Jean

So this was how it would end. Krypton, one of the most technologically advanced civilizations in the known twenty-eight galaxies, would be destroyed all because of a group of close-minded fools. Kara swore again as she entered the ship her Uncle Jor-El had made for her, looking through the glass to where her Aunt Lara was placing her infant cousin Kal-El in a similar, albeit smaller ship. The two of them would the only survivors of their race, forced to live among Earthlings because the Council refused to believe her Uncle's warnings. Krypton was doomed thanks to the attempted revolt by Zod and her father, which resulted in the core of their planet becoming unstable. Kara was broken out of her thought as she saw her cousin's ship leave the surface of the planet, feeling her own craft do likewise a few moments later. Kara craned her neck for one final look at the crystalline city of Kandor, the only home she had ever known, watching as the city and eventually the entire planet became smaller and smaller, before the once great planet of Krypton was gone, destroyed as the planet imploded.

Kara let out a scream as she saw the place where her planet had once been reduced to nothing more than empty space as though it had never existed. The sound of her scream suddenly ceased as debris from the former planet impacted on her ship, rupturing the pod and exposing the nineteen year-old girl to the cold and empty vacuum of space. She felt the breath leave her lungs and panic began to set in as she slowly began to lose consciousness. Her last conscious thought was of her cousin and she said a silent prayer to whatever god or gods may exist.

Please...help him...survive

With that final thought the eyes of Kara Zor-El closed and she knew no more, surrendering herself to the cold and emptiness of death. However, she had no idea that her prayers had indeed been answered, and in more ways than one. For on that day Kara Zor-El of Krypton died, but in her place was someone stronger, someone Kara could never have imagined herself becoming. Or more accurately one thirdof something. On that day Kara Zor-El was reborn, as the host of an entity that had also attached to her cousin, and one other. Kara Zor-El, her cousin and the mutant known as Jean Grey were now the hosts of the legendary Phoenix Force.

Seventeen year-old Clark Kent woke up from his slumber, shaking his head as the recurring dream left him. For the past several months he had seen the same dream; he stood in the vast emptiness of space, staring into a darkness so deep that not even his enhanced vision would allow him to see beyond it when it was suddenly illuminated in a blazing flash of red light. There were two women standing in the center and they seemed to call to him, telling him to come, to find them to be whole once more. He shook his head again, thinking that it must be another one of Jor-El's manipulations. Well that was one thing about his heritage that he refused to embrace. He wasn't going to rule them with strength as his biological father wanted. He may have the abilities of a Kryptonian, but he had been raised human, and hell would freeze over before he would have them bow at his feet.

Suddenly the young man gasped and let out a scream before collapsing back onto the bed unconscious once again. He opened his eyes to find himself standing on what appeared to be the roof of the Daily Planet building in Metropolis. However, before he could begin to wonder how he had gotten there he realized that he wasn't alone. Standing across from him was a beautiful redhead with green eyes while a blue-eyed blonde was in between them, the three making a triangle across the building. The other two looked as shocked to be there as Clark himself was, but before they could say anything there was a flash of fire, revealing a beautiful Pheonix.

Welcome my champions.

"Okay...I think I speak for all of us when I say what the hell is going on here?" The redhead said, and Clark and the blonde nodded.

What is going on is that you have been chosen. Each of you posses qualities of a true hero or heroine as it were, and you have been chosen to be my champions in the coming battle.

"I hate to break it to you, but I'm nobody's champion. I'm just a kid from Kansas." Clark replied, only for the Pheonix to give what the three supposed was it's equivilant of a laugh.

Oh you are so much more than that both as Clark Kent and Kal-El.

"You are Kal-El?" The blonde asked suddenly, and Clark nodded in response.

"What does that name mean to you Miss-"

"My name is Kara...Kara Zor-El."

"Wait...Zor-El. That means..."

"I'm your cousin. Your father Jor-El, and my father Zor-El were brothers." She said with a smile, which Clark was only too happy to return. He couldn't describe the joy he felt at finding out that he wasn't alone in the universe. However that joy quickly changed to worry as he remembered the third person on the roof with them.

"Don't worry you two. I won't say anything." The redhead said quickly, making Clark exhale a breath he hadn't known he had been holding.

"Thank you Miss-"

"Grey, Jean Grey, and I hate to interrupt but weren't we all wondering why we had been brought here by the Pheonix or whatever that thing is."

I am the Pheonix Force Jean, and as I said earlier I have chosen you three to become my champions in the coming battle. You will be my hosts so to speak, and before you object, I have no interest in controlling your lives. I only want to enable you to become what you three were always capable of being.

"And what exactly is that?" Kara asked.

Heroes.

"What if we choose to refuse your offer?" Jean asked.

You are of course free to do as you wish, but I have seen what happens if you continue on the path you are on at present.

"What does happen?" Clark asked.

Your father dies of a heart attack because of what happened in Metropolis, Lana Lang ends up becoming poison to you, Lex becomes your worst enemy need I go on?

"No I get it."

Kara you make it to Earth in your ship but are left in stasis for nearly ten years, and when you do get out the Artificial Intelligence of Jor-El forces you to exile yourself to the future never to see your cousin again. As for you Jean you die in battle with the X-men and the team goes their separate ways, eventually being hunted down one by one.

"Are you two thinking what I am?" Kara asked, and the other two nodded.

"We accept your offer." Jean said.

Very well. Then tomorrow I will arrange for Professor Xavier to detect Clark and Kara, and offer them places with the X-men.

"So what happens now?" Kara asked.

Now you wake up.

"Wait so this was all in our heads?" Clark asked.

Yes, but why does that make it any less real?

Clark opened his eyes, thinking that what he just saw couldn't have been a dream. As he looked over and saw Kara standing against his wall he grinned. Yup, definitely wasn't a dream.
