Takes place mid season 5 of Smallville, and before Kill Ari in the NCIS continuity. Jonathan never died, and went on to become Senator. Clark and Lana were not together after season 2
"How did your meeting go dad?" Clark asked, but Jonathan just walked past him and sat down. Clark would usually be annoyed but the young man understood his father's need to unwind. After all, it wasn't every day that you got asked to meet with the President of the United States. His wife gripped his hand from beside him, and Jonathan smiled before looking at his wife and son. He cleared his throat once, then twice and finally a third time which had Clark worried. His dad was never this nervous, which meant whatever the President told him made him nervous.
"Jonathan, what is it?"
"The President...He made me an offer. He wants me to accept the position of the United States Ambassador to Israel."
"Dad that's great!"
"I'm not so sure son. I mean, what do I know about foreign affairs or Isreali politics?"
"What did you know about running for Senator?"
"It's not just that...Aside from U.S. protection we would be assigned a bodyguard. That bodyguard would be a member of the Mossad."
"The Isreali special operations group?" Clark questioned and Jonathan nodded.
"Also, we would spend a good deal of time in the company of Eli David, the Deputy Director of Mossad and his family."
"And you're worried that my secret could somehow get out." Clark finished.
"Dad, I think you should do it. It's a great opportunity, and we've kept my secret for years. I think that if we can fool the Luthors we can fool the Mossad. But I have to admit something's bugging me. You said the Director's name was David?" He asked, and Jonathan nodded.
"Does he have a daughter by chance?"
"Two actually. One is named Tali and I think she's eleven. The other is about your age and is named-"
"Ziva." Clark finished, cutting his father off.
"Yes. How do you know that son?"
"Because Dad...Ziva David is my wife."
Shorter than my usual, but there you have it. Should I make this into a story or just forget about it?
