A/N: Takes place pre-movie for the Fast and the Furious and early season 3 for Smallville
"I hope Clark's okay." Martha Kent said as she looked over at her husband.
"He won't be once Mr. Luthor gets a hold of him."
Jonathan Kent just glared at the man who spoke, resisting the urge to punch him. Now Jonathan Kent wasn't usually a violent man, but when it came to his family he had no qualms about doing whatever it took to keep them safe. However, as he looked around at the inside of the truck that he, Martha and the Luthorcorp employee were in he cursed himself. He had failed. He had failed to protect his wife, and worse he had failed to protect his son. After Clark had destroyed his ship with a kryptonite key he had run off to Metropolis once he had learned that his actions had indirectly caused Martha to lose the baby. The worst part was that Jonathan had shoved him away, blaming Clark rather than trying to understand why he had destroyed the ship. Oh sure he had eventually gone after him and destroyed the red kryptonite ring, but he was ashamed to admit that he didn't do it to help his son.
No he did it so that Clark wouldn't hurt anyone, and they both knew it. Therefore it wasn't any surprise that he had decided to take a few months before coming home, which was something Jonathan was extremely grateful for at the moment. Somehow Clark had gotten mixed up with Morgan Edge who has told his secret to Lionel Luthor. Lionel Luthor, the man who had brought nothing but pain and suffering to everything he touched ever since they had first met all those years ago. The billionaire had sent a hit squad to capture Clark, but when he wasn't anywhere to be found his men had taken Martha and Jonathan in the hopes of luring Clark out. Jonathan only prayed that his son would have the good sense to stay away and worry about his own safety for a change.
Suddenly the truck swerved to the right, pushing Jonathan, Martha and the guard back into their seats. Then they heard something land on the roof, making Jonathan sigh. So much for Clark worrying about his own safety.
Suddenly a portion of the truck roof fell inward, followed by a very angry Clark Kent. He didn't say a word before punching the guard in the face, feeling bones break under his fist. The guard would live, but his nose probably wouldn't ever look right again.
"Clark what are you-"
"No time Dad, we've gotta go." He said quickly helping them up and onto the roof before following behind. Jonathan looked on in shock as he saw four cars surrounding the truck. One was in front, one was behind and one was on either side, keeping it boxed in. Suddenly the car on the left moved closer, practically pressed against the truck before the door opened.
"Let's go." Clark said, grasping his parent's hands and jumping off the truck roof, the three of them landing inside the car a moment later."
"You alright?" The driver asked as Clark looked his parents over for injuries.
"They've got a few bruises, nothing major."
"I was asking about you too farm boy." The woman replied as Clark shut the door making him laugh.
"Relax beautiful I'm good." He replied before kissing her quickly.
"Hey guys we're all good let's roll." Clark said as he picked up a hand held radio a moment later. There was a chorus of agreement and the four cars were soon speeding down the road, leaving the truck in the rear view.
"Son, what the hell is going on?"
"Well this wasn't exactly how I planned it, but I guess introductions are in order. Mom, Dad this is my girlfriend Letty Ortiz."
"Nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Kent. I would shake your hands but we've gotta get home ASAP, otherwise my Dad'll flip."
"Speak of the devil." Clark replied, picking up a phone off the dash.
"Yes sir. I understand Tony, but there was something we had to do. Look, it's my fault Letty and the guys are out, but please trust me when I say this was important. Hold on, someone wants to talk to you." He said, placing the phone in his father's outstretched hand.
"Hello? Who am I speaking with? Yes Mr. Torreto, my name is Jonathan Kent. I'm Clark's father. I'm sorry if he gave you reason to worry, but your daughter and their friends helped him save my wife's life and mine as well. Alright, thank you Tony." Jonathan said before shutting the phone.
"So how pissed do you think Tony's gonna be?" Clark asked as they got out of the car a couple hours later.
"Scale of one to ten? Probably a twelve." Dom said as he got out of another car while Vince and Hector got out of the last two.
"Look man, I shouldn't have gotten you involved in this." He said but Dom just shook his head.
"You're family, and we always take care of family."
"He's right Clark. Although I'd still like an explanation." Tony said as they walked into the house.
"Maybe I can explain that. I'm Jonathan Kent, we spoke on the phone. This is my wife Martha."
"Tony Torreto, nice to meet you. Now you said something about the kids saving your lives?"
"Yeah, we were kidnapped by Lionel Luthor. He wanted to use us to lure Clark out."
"Why didn't you just call the police Clark?"
"Tony, you don't know the Luthors. They will have every cop within a hundred miles on their payroll. If he had called the police you all would have been in danger." Jonathan said, while Martha nodded.
"You all still could be. I think it's best we get out of here." Clark said, but Tony stopped him, standing up and putting a hand on his arm.
"You're not going anywhere. If some rich piece of crap thinks that he's going to lay a hand on you, he's got another thing coming."
"Tony-
"Don't even think about it son. This isn't up for debate. You're staying, and that's final. Now I'm going to call it a night. Dom you and the guys better do the same. Letty you too. Clark, show your parents to the guest room, and nobody wake Mia."
Clark just nodded before heading up the stairs, motioning for his parents to follow him.
"I'm sure you two have a lot of questions, but can we talk about that tomorrow? I'm beat." Clark said, and they nodded. He headed out the door, but stopped and turned back.
"I'm sorry...for running away, for the mess with Jor-El for-"
"Son, stop. If anyone should be apologizing it's me. If I had been more willing to listen to you about why you did it, you wouldn't have run off." Jonathan said before both parents embraced their son.
"We'll see you in the morning sweetheart." Martha said, and he smiled before heading over to his room, and climbing into bed beside Letty.
"You and your folks made up?"
"Yeah. I still don't know how-"
"Clark, enough. You screwed up, everyone does. Now let it go, and let's get some sleep." She said and he smiled, kissing her forehead and pulling her close, the two of them falling asleep moments later.
