At The Daily Bugle, Eddie hands Jameson a merged photo of Spider-Man in his black suit and one with bags of money drawn to impress Jameson and Gwen along with getting that promotion to staff photographer.
Eddie: Hey Betty is Jameson around?
Betty: Yep he's in his office.
Eddie: Great! Cuz I got a photo of Spider-Man robbing a bank and he is so going to love this!
Jameson: Brock you're here! Got that photo I wanted?
Eddie: Yep right here Jameson. A picture of Spider-Man robbing the bank last night.
Jameson: This is awesome! Well Brock you have been promoted to staff photographer as of tomorrow.
Eddie: Thank you J.J.! You're the best!
Jameson: No Brock, you're the best! This will be the headline of tomorrow's newspaper!
Later on Eddie calls Gwen up to tell him about his promotion to staff photographer.
Gwen: Hello
Eddie: Hey Gwen, it's Eddie. Just wanted to let you know that I just got promoted staff photographer for a photo of Spider-Man robbing the bank last night.
Gwen: No way! Really?!
Eddie: Yes it's true. Unbelievable but he had a change of heart once switching to that black suit.
Gwen: I guess heroes can turn into villains after all.
Eddie: Yeah well I gotta go, so how about another date?
Gwen: I was thinking yes. Tonight at that French restaurant.
Eddie: Sounds great! I'll see you then babe!
Gwen: Bye Eddie! (hangs up)
The next day
Staff worker: Cheers to the new staff photographer!
Eddie: I just got lucky!
Lady staff worker: This is so wonderful of you.
Eddie: You might want to tell JJ to put a little more wall space. (hangs up photo he merged and sees Peter in the reflection) Oh good morning. Beautiful day huh? What was it you said? I'd never get that picture? There's your hero.
Peter: Ha! I'd never thought he'd really do that.
Eddie: See you made a judgement call. You gotta see it as it is.
Peter: It's funny you should say that. I was looking through some old photos and it looks very…similar.
Eddie: Ok. Well I gotta get back to work now.
Peter: You're trash Brock.
Eddie: Excuse me?
Peter: You're picture's a fake!
Eddie: Um, Parker you are such a boy scout. When are you gonna give a guy a break?
Peter: (after shoves Eddie to the wall) You want forgiveness? Get religion.
Robbie: What's going on here?
Betty: Is everything alright?
Eddie: Yeah we're just horsing around. Look Peter I beg you, if you do this I will lose everything. There's not gonna be a paper in town that will hire me.
Peter: You should've thought of that earlier.
Robbie: What are you doing Peter?
Peter: Show this to your editor. Tell him to check his sources next time.
Robbie and Betty are surprised and shocked he would do that. Of course the New York State Photographic Department already confirmed yesterday it was a fake yesterday but Jameson didn't believe it until they showed him the proof. Eddie knew he would be in big trouble for faking that photo and that his chances of being hired at another newspaper company and having Gwen as a potential girlfriend/wife would be destroyed.
Jameson: What's going on out there Parker and what are you doing here?
Peter: I found proof of that photo Brock gave you yesterday of Spider-Man robbing the bank. It's a fake one.
Jameson: Well prove it to me!
Robbie: I got the proof right here!
Jameson: Brock! In my office now!
Robbie: It's a fake. Empire State Photographic Department confirms it.
Jameson: (slams photos on his desk) Pack your things. Get out of my building.
Eddie: I was just trying….
Jameson: You're fired!
Robbie: You know we're gonna have to print a retraction now.
Jameson: Haven't printed a retraction in 20 years!
Robbie: But who will be the new staff photographer now?
Jameson: Parker's going to be my new staff photographer.
Robbie: But he left.
Jameson: I'll give him a call later.
