Captain's Personal Log Stardate 2473.9
To those who may read this, we have failed. I have failed. My name is Clark Kent, and I am Captain of the Federation Starship Enterprise. Or at least I will be for these few moments we have left. Zod, the Borg and his still unknown alien allies have suceeded in destroying Starfleet-by brainwashing those in authority and destroying those who refused to comply My ship and crew are all that is left and we too shall soon be wiped from existence. Zod and his allies have us trapped, so this will be our final stand. The only things I can do now is go down fighting, and pray that someone else will take up the fight.
"It's done." Clark said as he finished the log entry before turning to the woman standing behind him.
"I still don't like leaving you to face the end on your own." She replied, and he smiled.
"If this works, then it won't be the end. We'll be able to stop this madness before it even begins."
"Maybe we can finally take that vacation to Paris."
"I'll make sure of it. I love you Deanna Troi."
"And I love you Clark Kent." She replied before kissing him softly, and placing the gold ring on her finger. A moment later Clark Kent was alone, unable to feel even the slightest trace of his beloved, of his Imzadi.
He squared his shoulders and walked out to the bridge, nodding to Commander Data and Leutinet's Worf, Laforge and Crusher, and offering his cousin and Wesley's wife Kara a sad smile.
"Captain, the enemy is within visual range."
"Thank you Commander Data. Mr. Worf, shield's up, red alert. Make ready all weapons."
"Aye Captain." The Klingon replied.
"Captain, they're hailing us." Wesley spoke up, and Clark nodded.
"Onscreen."
A moment later the main viewer of the Enterprise was filled with the grotesque face of Zod. With a borg implant in place of the left eye that Clark had taken in a conflict nearly a year previous the destroyer of Starfleet now seemed more machine then man. However, there was no denying the madness in his eyes, madness that turned to hatred as he gazed upon his enemy.
"I shall offer you one chance Kal-El. Surrender and I shall grant your officer's a quick death. Well except for your wife and cousin. They may have the honor of servicing me for a time."
"I'll see you in hell monster. Mr. Worf, Mr. Crusher, fire everything we have."
"With pleasure sir." The two replied, and for a moment there was silence save for the sounds of the Enterprise firing it's entire arsenal at the greatest threat the galaxy had ever faced or would ever face again.
A moment later the smoke cleared, revealing Zod's armada to be completely undamaged.
"No effect Captain. They must have found a way to neutralize the effects of our weapons." Laforge said, and Clark nodded.
"They're powering weapons Captain. They are firing." Worf spoke up.
The Enterprise was rocked from the force of the blast, the crew struggling to stay upright.
"Damage report!"
"Shields and engine's are down Clark. We're sitting ducks out here!" Kara told him, and he nodded.
"It has been an honor serving with you all. You are the best crew and family a man could ask for. May we meet again in the next life."
The members of the Enterprise walked to their Captain, their friend, their brother and embraced him. A moment later the USS Enterprise was destroyed, leaving the universe at the mercy of Zod.

"Just a second!" Clark called as he heard the knock on his front door. He walked over to the door, opening it to see the most beautiful pair of hazel eyes gazing back at him.
"Can I help you Miss-"
"Troi, Deanna Troi, and I most certainly hope so. However, first I need you to put this on." She said, sliding the gold ring off her finger and holding it out to him. Clark hesitated, unsure if he should do as she asked. However, as he looked into her hazel eyes he felt something stirring within him. He felt as though he knew this woman, as though he could trust her.
Slowly he took the ring and placed it on the third finger of his left hand, shutting his eyes at the mass of images that went racing past his mind's eye. Slowly he opened his eyes, seeing Deanna looking back at him, worry clear on her face.
"Clark?"
"Imzadi." He replied just as softly before pulling her into his arms and kissing her, feeling her thoughts and emotions meld with his own.
That was how his parent's found them when they walked down the stairs two minutes later.
