Cresida Meeks had been doing this for 25 years. For 25 years she had controlled herself, interviewed Game Makers and Tributes alike, and every year she pretended that it didn't bother her, that she was perfectly fine with the Hunger Games, and children being slaughtered, and the monsters who made it happen.
As far as she new, this year would be exactly the same.
So she stepped up on that stag shouting about the hunger games and to welcome their new Head Game Maker Angelito Kuach. The audience cheered so loud that it made her sick, She had to tune them out, as she asked Angelito about what he had instore, but his answer surprised her.
"Well, Cresida, we thought that this year being the 25 hunger games and all we would try something new, something differdent, we call it a quarter quell."
Dread started bubling inside Cresidas stomach,
"what exactly is a quarter quell?" she asked, imeaditly regretting her decision.
"Im glad you asked Cresida, A quarter quell is when every 25 years we bend the rules a little bit, this year the tributes wont be reaped they will be chosen."
Cresida suddenly became very sick, "
"So these tributes will be picked by their friends and family?"
"that is correct,"
Cresida was so angry that the words just spilled out "and how would you respond if someone called you a monster for this?"
"what?" He said very confused.
"the people in the districts hate you for sending their children into the games they think of you as a monster."
"I don't understa –"
"and you know what they're right" The cameras have been cut, and Cresida knew that she didn't have much time.
"you all are, you watch children die for fun, you all are monsters, monsters!" she screamed, as the guards pulled her away.
The next the interview is redone with a new host, Caesar Flickerman.
