PROLOGUE
The cats screamed. Their world had been turned to blackness.. The blurry black feline-like shapes leaped from the darkest spots of the never ending night, somehow even darker than the rest of everything.
ShadowClan cats seemed; unfazed. They glared with an icy blue hatred, watching as they black shadows opened their eyes. The things looked horrid with their heads always cocked to one side and twisted tails, but the blinding flashes on the thing's white orbs only added an even more chilling presence. One of the things leaped at a ginger queen. She screamed as she was dragged away, her amber eyes wide in fear. Her kits wailed and ran. She disappeared in a very dark tunnel. The tunnel was so dark it glowed with an eerie presence. Both cats disappeared into it. The ShadowClan cats slowly formed a line, fading into these powerful black beasts. They lunged, every time they touched a cat, the cat turned to ice before melting into the black sludge the cats walked on.

My leader and brother brushed my pelt. I felt terrible pain as my body was crushed, my mind manipulated. "RAINSTAR!" I yowled. Everything turned black.
Hush, a voice soothed. It sounded close, far, in front of me, behind me, but most of all, in my left ear. I cowered down as the pain grew. My stomach was crushed, my tail kinked at a painfully odd angle, my eyes forced to watch an agonizingly bright light. I screamed, my limbs twisted and sore, my bones broken, my brain no longer mine. I opened my jaws and let out a soundless wail. Everyone appeared. Rainstar, a powerful gray tom with a black dappled flank, his blue eyes warm as he gazed into mine. I managed to stumble up, tap my nose so his, purr as my friends and family surrounded me..
I am sorry, the voice said again. Sorry for what, Rainstar? I asked my mate. And, all of the pain, greif, agony, anger, sadness, joy, rage, victories, defeats, injuries, fulfilments; all smashed into me at a whole other level of pain. He pressed his nose harder into mine, my beautiful white and gray fur melting into my Clanmate's, my energy being sucked away; and now, I watched as I murdered cats, in zero control. Rainstar had full control, over all the cats, even me. "HE IS COMING!" A frantic, sky-blue eyed apprentice yowled. He sped past me in a blur of white and fawn-colored fur, making for a crevice in a cliffside. Rainstar drove us forward, and I felt an extra burst of speed, despite my newly acquired twisted black leg. I managed to kill a small 2-moon-old kit before regaining control. I whipped around to face Rainstar, my hatred and grief driving me on. "How could you?!" I yowled. "Make me kill a kit, go through that pain-" Rainstar looked at me, a sad emotion in his blinding eyes. A tear trickled from his cheek to his chin, dripping down onto my forehead. I growled, knowing he was in full control of everyone, everything; he wanted ShadowClan to rule, and so did I, but not this way. "We are one with the Shadows, Iceblaze," He simply explained. I ran. How could I have ever bore the kits of such an evil cat?
