"Let him go Clark!" Lois called from where the young man held Tim Robert's by the throat. She couldn't see his face, but it was obvious that the farmboy was ready to kill the other teen.

"He killed her! All she wanted was a chance, and he killed her!"

Lois ran over to where Alicia lay, feeling for a pulse. She knew it was futile, but anything that could buy her some time to talk Clark off the ledge was welcome. Against all odds, Lois felt a pulse. It was extremely faint, but it was there nonetheless.

"She's alive Clark. It's weak, but she's there! Now please let him go."

Clark glared at the young man even as his superhearing picked up Alicia's heartbeat. Lois had been right. It was nearly inaudible, but it was there.

"The fact that she is alive is the only reason I don't snap your neck. You'd best pray that she stays that way, because the day her heart stops is the day you die."

Clark threw the younger boy to the floor and then picked up Alicia in his arms. He walked outside without even giving Lois Lane a second glance.

The army brat watched him go, realizing that Clark hadn't been talked off the ledge. No, he had simply chosen to change the time he would jump. And so as much as she hated what she was going to do, Lois knew that there was only one way to save her friend from himself. She pulled out her phone and dialed a number, the man answering on the first ring as she knew he would.

"Lane."

"Daddy...I need your help."

Smallville Medical- 10:30 p.m.

"Mr. Kent. I'm afraid visiting hours are over." The nurse said as she walked into the room where Clark Kent sat beside a bed containing the unconscious form of Alicia Baker.

"I almost lost her once. I still could. I'm not going anywhere until she wakes up." He said in a tone that made it clear that this was not up for debate.

"I could have security escort you." She replied, and he smiled.

"M'am, I promise you that would not be a good idea."

"Is that a threat?"

"Let's just say it's a good thing we're in a hospital, and leave it at that." He replied before turning back to the sleeping blonde.

"I'm afraid I'm really going to have to insist." She replied. A moment later Clark felt something pierce his neck, and for a time he knew no more.

Undisclosed Location- Time unknown

Clark opened his eyes, a metal table in front of him. And seated in the chair across from him was General Sam Lane.

"Good. You're awake."

"Alicia? Where-"

"She's safe Clark." The General replied, cutting him off.

"Where is she?! What have you done with her?!"

"Like I said, she's safe. She's recovering from her wounds. After we've talked, I'll be glad to take you to see her."

Clark slammed his fist on the table, leaving a dent in the metal.

"You'll take me to her now!"

"No, I won't. And no amount of violence on your part will change my mind. Nor will I tell you where she is being kept until after you have heard what I have to say." He replied calmly, and Clark resisted the urge to throttle the older man. Instead he just nodded, the look in his eyes telling Sam Lane to speak quickly.

"Lois called me, and she told me what happened between you and Tim Robert's."

"You mean the part where he nearly murdered my wife?" Clark said, and Sam glared at him.

"The marriage was annulled as neither of you are of age. And yes, Lois told me what happened. At least the part that she was there for. The part where you nearly killed that boy. And how you still intend to."

"Not for the moment. But if you think for one second that I'm just going to let him get away with what he did-"

"Six broken ribs, three crushed vertebrae, a punctured lung...I don't think he got away with what he did. I think you chose to appoint yourself judge, jury and executioner."

"Is there a point to all of this or are you just wasting my time?" Clark asked. He was in no mood to debate morality today.

"You've got a lot of anger in you son. And I can't take the risk that you're going to lose it again."

"So...what does that mean exactly? You want to get me to talk to a shrink? Thanks, but I'll pass."

"No. The way I see it, there are two options. Option one, I lock you up. Your girlfriend goes back to her normal life, but you'll never see each other again."

"What's option two?" Clark asked.

"Option two is you and Miss Baker serve your country. You do some good, take that anger out on the people who deserve it."

"I'm not your typical soldier."

"We're not your typical unit." A woman said as she walked into the room. Though she now wore cameo, the brown hair and brown eyes were the same. It was the nurse from the hospital.

"I don't think I caught your name." Clark said, and she smirked.

"I'm Captain Jaye Benoit. They call me Lady Jaye."

"They?" Clark asked, and her smirk broadened.

"Our unit. G.I. Joe."

A/N: Just an idea that I thought up! Let me know what you all think! Also with regards to the pairing, do you want Clark with Lady Jaye, Scarlett or Alicia? Or some combination thereof? Let me know in your reviews!
