I'm sorry guys, I know it's been forever since I've updated! I hope this makes up for it...

Previously on Where's Peggy

"He's dead, isn't he?" asked Mrs. Harrisburg.

"We are very sorry for your loss, could we come in and ask some questions?" asked Peggy. Mrs. Harrisburg nodded.

A shot rang out

Mrs. Harrisburg fell back on the carpet in the entrance hall, a bullet lodged between her eyes.

"Where the bloody hell did that come from?" asked Peggy, looking around frantically.

Another shot rang out.

"We can figure that out once we get some cover." said Daniel. Peggy ducked into the entrance hall, Daniel made to follow her.

A third shot, followed by a cry of pain. Blood poured out of Daniel's shoulder as the bullet lodged into the wall. Daniel rushed inside and shut the door, not that that would stop the bullets but it would prevent the shooter from seeing them.

"Daniel!" shouted Peggy.

"I'm fine, it's just a scratch. We have to move" said Daniel.

More shots, but nothing penetrated the wall.

"Hmm I thought bullets could go through wood…" said Peggy, examining the wall closely.

"Can you figure that out later?" asked Daniel.

"Darling I don't think we can risk leaving until the bullets stop and you dropped the radio outside." said Peggy.

"I got shot Peg!" said Daniel, exasperated. Peggy smiled slightly.

"Which is a perfectly good excuse. Come on, a woman with bulletproof walls will probably have enough first aid supplies to care of a wound like that. Now if I could just find the kitchen, and if they're not in there, than the bathroom." said Peggy.

"How can you stay so calm in situations like this?" asked Daniel.

"You were in the army too Daniel, you and I have both been through hell and back. Are you surprised?" asked Peggy.

"Because it's you, no. I was just wondering if you had a more specific reason than 'I was in the army too'." said Daniel.

"A ha! Found the first aid kit." said Peggy.

"Good." said Daniel.

"Wow, there's even alcohol in here." said Peggy, holding up a bottle.

"To drink or to clean the wound?" asked Daniel.

"Both, I think." said Peggy

"Excellent." said Daniel.

"Sit down." said Peggy.

"Yes ma'am." said Daniel, smirking.

Peggy didn't reply as she opened the bottle of alcohol and poured some onto Daniel's wound.

"Ow! Jesus Peg couldn't you warn me before you did that?" asked Daniel.

"That was for the cheek. Just a little more and then you can drink the rest while I stitch you up." said Peggy.

"I thought you said you weren't good at stitching?" asked Daniel.

"I'm passable, besides it's a lot easier to stitch up someone else than yourself." said Peggy.
Peggy poured some more alcohol onto the wound before handing the bottle to Daniel.

"Thank you." said Daniel, taking a long swig from the bottle.

"Try not to get drunk Darling I need you to have your wits about you." said Peggy.

"Sure sweetheart, I'll do my best."

"Don't call me sweetheart." said Peggy.

"So what can I call you?" asked Daniel.

"'Peg' works well. You could add another syllable and say 'Peggy' too. 'Carter' if we're at work and there's a superior officer around, or someone who isn't one of our friends." answered Peggy while beginning to stitch up the wound.

"Ok but everyone calls you those things." said Daniel.

"You're the only one who calls me Peg." said Peggy.

"What did Steve call you?" asked Daniel, Peggy paused for a moment before continuing her work.

"Captain Rogers addressed me as Agent Carter and, at the last moment of his life, Peggy. Like i told you, no one's ever shortened it to Peg before now." said Peggy icily.

"I'm sorry." said Daniel.

"Don't be, you had every right to ask." said Peggy.

"Are you almost done?" asked Daniel, trying to change the subject.

"Just another minute Darling I am only working with one hand here." said Peggy.

"Just a few more...there! That'll hold until we get you to a hospital." continued Peggy as she tied the knot on the last stitch.

"May I remind you that you never went to a hospital for the broken arm, which I assume is still broken, and the stitches in your head, and the sprained ankle." said Daniel.

"I can't argue with you there, but you had a bullet rip through your arm." said Peggy.

"Ok I'll make you a deal." said Daniel.

"I'm listening." said Peggy.

"I'll go see a doc if you will." said Daniel.

"Alright, you have a deal." said Peggy, holding out her hand for Daniel to shake. Daniel stood up, grabbed Peggy's hand and pulled her closer for a kiss. Daniel's arms wrapped around Peggy's waist as her good arm went around his neck

"That's a better way to seal a deal between us, don't you think?" asked Daniel softly.

"Hmm…" said Peggy before kissing Daniel again.

"I agree, but be careful not to pull your stitches." warned Peggy.

"Have I ever told you that you worry about other people too much?" asked Daniel.

"Shut up and kiss me." said Peggy. Without another word Daniel placed his lips on hers.

"A-hem, this is neither the time nor the place." said Thompson as he entered the room.

Unbeknownst to them, the bullets had stopped and Jack Thompson had come looking for them.

"Jack!" said Peggy in surprise, removing her arm from around Daniel's neck quickly. Daniel reluctantly dropped his from her waist.

"You know, you have the worst timing." said Daniel.

"So I've been told. What's the deal with the dead woman in the entrance hall?" asked Jack.

"She was just about to invite us in to talk when someone killed her, we don't know who or where the shot came from, everything happened so fast." said Peggy.

"That doesn't explain what the two of you are doing in this kitchen and why Sousa is covered in blood." said Jack.

"I got shot by whoever shot Mrs. Harrisburg." answered Daniel.

"File says she has a daughter, where is she?" asked Jack.

"Her name is Grace she's about eight years old, when her mother realized who we were she sent the girl to play with a friend." answered Peggy.

"Someone needs to collect her." said Daniel.

"I agree, you go." said Jack.

"No can do Jack, Peg and I are gonna see a doc about all these injuries, why don't you go?" said Daniel.

"Kids hate me." said Jack. Peggy noticed a small shadow of a girl move behind the door in the entrance hall. It was too big to be Grace's but too small to be a grown person...and too quiet to be a regular child.

"Why not send Kat?" asked Peggy, smiling.

"Sounds like a good idea to me." said Daniel.

"Where is she? I haven't seen her since yesterday." said Jack.

"I'm right here." said Kat, appearing from behind the doorway in the entrance hall.

"How did you get here?" asked Jack.

"Stowed away in the back of your car. you should really check the back seat before you drive off, I could have killed you easily." said Kat.

"Why did you stow away in his car?" asked Daniel.

"I heard him on the phone, talking about gunshots. I wanted to see what was going on." said Kat.

"I knew I liked you." said Peggy, smiling at Kat.

"Did you hear everything we were saying?" asked Daniel.

"Yes, do we have an address for Grace's friend?" asked Kat.

"No, we don't." said Daniel.

"Ok. I'll just start knocking on doors then. I'll come back if I find anything." said Kat.

"Be careful." warned Daniel.

"No shit Sherlock there's a shooter out there. Of course I'll be careful." said Kat before rushing out the door, Peggy laughed as she left.

"She shouldn't be saying things like that, she's only eleven." said Daniel.

"True but are you surprised?" asked Peggy, Daniel sighed.

"No"
