Artemis: Good job, H. We're proud of you
Sarah: Me too, big brother. You've really managed to turn your life around.
All his life, he didn't think he would be ending up here. The voices of his younger sisters not fazing him. He was in disbelief. He, a former juvenile, had made it out of jail, and was standing in front of his future, South Park Elementary.
in front of South Park Elementary, stood 3 kids. The first, was the oldest. Highsmith Strickland. He was 9 years old, going on to 10 in a few months. Although very protective, he was a very, very caring person. Strange, for a kid as nice as him going to juvie. Not too many people knew about his adventure in juvie, only his younger sisters, his parents, and his closest friends. But now, he was going to make some new friends. Out of hundreds of kids, he would be easy to spot. If his white hoodie wouldn't give him away, his long blue hair would.
The second one, was Artemis Strickland. She was 8 years old, and one grade below her brother. She knew how to make friends, so she wouldn't immediately become an outcast, but putting friendship aside, nobody mattered to her except her brother and younger sister. She always wore a black hoodie, but rarely had the hood up. She had dark purple hair, but she wasn't considered an emo. She always called her brother "H". Always.
The third one, was the youngest. Sarah Strickland. At 5 years old, she would be starting 1st grade at the school. She was the quiet one, only talking to her brother and sister, but almost never talked to anybody else. She has long brown hair, and wore bright colors all over. She was good at hiding her emotions. She had a small scar across her face. nobody knew how she got it. it was a mystery, but then again, she was the quiet one.
The three of them had walked into the building. The first grade class was just down the hall, so Sarah separated from the trio, and waved goodbye, disappearing in the crown of kids. The 3rd and 4th grade classes were on the far side, so Artemis and Highsmith started walking there, hand in hand. Artemis noticed her brother was shaking, just barely, but she always noticed the smallest details.
Highsmith had been dreading this day, one of the main reasons he went to juvie was because of how violent he used to be. He didn't want to hurt people. He wouldn't hurt anybody, not since he'd promise to Artemis and Sarah that he would not even hurt a fly. For the past 4 months, he had done just that. But now, he was back in a school filled with hundreds of kids, maybe a thousand. He had every reason in the world to be as nervous as he was.
Artemis: C'mon H, it's gonna be alright.
Highsmith immediately looked at her, with a shy, small smile.
Highsmith: Thanks, sis. I'm just-
Artemis: I know. Like Sarah said, you learned from your mistakes. I don't blame you for what you did. Nobody does.
Words of great comfort met Highsmith then and there, as he and one of the people he cared a lot for, arrived at their classes. Their hands separated, and before he knew, his sister had gone into class, but not with a small kiss on the cheek, for siblings sake. He looked in front of him. His new class was already at work, talking with one another. One was completely covered in orange, another was as fat as an elephant cub, and he could see a kid with a green hat chatting with his friend with a black hair and a blue hat.
He saw the teacher, the teacher saw him. A small smile spread across the teachers face, and motioned for Highsmith to come in. Highsmith took a few deep breaths, and but his hand on the door handle, as he thought to himself three words. "Here we go".
