Carlisle Cullen had never had anyone call him out on his shit. Reynolds take shit from anyone, he had something about him that made you do a double take. Carlisle followed him back inside the hospital room were River and Bella are in. Carlisle that all five of his children are Inside their. "Alice, Emmett, Jasper and Rosalie you four go home." They all had smiles on their faces. Thinking that there wasn't going to be consequences for their actions. Boy were they in for a shocker or more like a rude awakening when Carlisle gets home. He looked at Edward; he hadn't made Edward feel welcomed back not since his nomad period. They have never forgiven him for that, he saw Edward looking at the Reynolds family. Carlisle saw what they have he felt jealous of the family bond. But that was his fault, before Carlisle could apologize to Edward. Mal came up to him and hug Edward very tight. Edward hug back; he laid his head on Mal shoulder. He was very thankful to the man; was that been missing. Mal pulled back; he whispers in his ear. "If you need anything, you just let me know." Edward nod his head and said; "thank you, sir, I will." Mal pulled away from Edward; Mal had his arms wrapped around his wife and daughter. All three of them are walking out of the hospital. Carlisle turns to Edward; he see him and he goes over to talked him. But Edward just walked away from Carlisle. Before he could say anything to him; he was gone in no time flat.
Carlisle had never felt like a failure in his whole life, but he had let Edward down in ways that shouldn't have as a father. He let everyone bully him to the point, that Edward had stop coming to him or the family. Carlisle was down on his knees, he was a sobbing messed. He couldn't believe that he had let his whole family down. He got back up was walking back to his office. Carlisle has a lot of regrets going through him at this point. He just couldn't concentrate, but right now he had to concentrate as a doctor. Then he had arrived home after a long day at work. Carlisle had walked inside, he had hanged up his coat. He saw his mate; she walked up to him. She wrapped her arms tightly around his waist. He kissed Esme forehead; she kissed his cheek. "I'm so sorry, my love I failed you." Esme was in shock over Carlisle words. "I haven't been a very good father to our children. Especially to Edward; honey we haven't given Edward a chance since he returned to us doing his nomand period. We have been bullying him; we aren't standing up for our son." Esme pulled back, "Carlisle, are you feeling alright." Carlisle hadn't said very much, "the new chief of police. He made me questioned, about my children and my skills as a father." Esme pulled him in for a hug. "No, your a very good father and husband. Edward doesn't wanna be our son." Carlisle shake his head and said; "Esme, look at him; he is pulling away from us."
Esme and Carlisle are both sitting together on the couch. Both of them are talking to each other, about everything even about how Edward should take Tanya as a mate. Both of them agreed that Tanya should come immediately to the house as soon as possible. Tanya said that she would be on her way soon.
Edward pov
Edward is upstairs in his bedroom; he couldn't stop thinking about Bella, River and Mal of course. Mal was a really good guy; their was something about him that draw Edward in. Almost like having a father figure in your life. Edward was wondering, could he really confine in Mal. Was there really a way to make it work with Bella family. Edward could feel the mating bond with Bella; but he could feel a deeper bond with Mal and River too. It wasn't the mating bond; it was something so much more. He could feel it deep in his undead heart. He had his arms raised above his head. He is listening to his music, then he figured that he could go and checked on the family. He jumped out his third story window. He is running across the forest, he gets passed all of the trees. Then he see the family house; he is watching from the trees. He see that Bella and her mom are cooking dinner together. Mal is setting up the table for his family. Edward see that after dinner is done. All three of them are sitting together as a family talking to each other and laughing. Edward had really missed having his mom and dad from his human life. "Mom, I wish that you were here right now. I could sure used your guidance, don't feel anything through the Cullen's family except hurt and humiliation. I see my mate and her family together; I don't want her to lose this connection with her family. I wish that they were a vampire family so these could be more easy. But I guess, life doesn't go the way we planned."
Edward could feel the rain coming down hard. He just watched them for a few more minutes. Edward made his way back home; up to his bedroom. But when he had gotten back. Laying their on his huge king size bed, was a very naked Tanya on the bed. "Tanya, what the fuck are you doing in my bed? What the fuck, do you think you are doing." Tanya got off the bed; she was walking up to him in a seductive way. "Come on, Edward don't you think it's time to stop playing games with me. I know you want me; I have wanted you for a long time."
