A/N: Okay, got another chapter done in my prewriting spree, whoo. I'll try to keep updating regularly but if I take a break for a week it's probably cause I couldn't finish a new chapter in time and I didn't have any prewritten.

Max's P.O.V.

Shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot.

"Ha, got ya now Maple," Trent taunted.

He does, knowing him I'll need Braviary later so I just have to get lucky. I thought.

"Use Thunderbolt."

"Dodge it," I yelled.

"Use Rock Slide," I yelled.

Braviary created white, glowing orbs which soon turned to solid gray rocks and sent them down towards Electivire. I couldn't see if it made contact because of the dust cloud.

When the dust settled, Electrivire was laying on the ground with spirals in his eyes.

Third Person P.O.V.

"WHAT?" Trent roared.

Max stood in shock for a few moments, did I just one-shot his Electivire that he spent years training.

"Electivire is unable to battle, Braviary is the winner, Trent please send out your next Pokemon," the ref called.

"Swampert," Trent said, calmly tossing a Pokeball.

"Braviary, return," Max said, returning the Pokeball to his belt.

He felt around for his next Pokeball, "Milotic let's go."

The serpentine Pokemon cried in happiness and Max smiled, Milotic wasn't his best battler, having gotten it in a trade with a coordinator a few months ago, but he could manage some unpredictable strategies with it.

"Use Waterfall," Trent yelled.

"Bat it away with Dragon Tail," Max countered.

Swampert charged at Milotic who simply whacked the Mud Fish Pokemon with its tail.

Swampert collided with the arena wall but remained conscious, and in Trent's mind, nothing else mattered. He knew that Max's Milotic wasn't all everyone thought it was, one good move and it was out.

"Keep using Waterfall until the snake falls, I don't care what it takes," Trent roared.

Swampert forced himself off the wall and once again charged at Milotic who batted it away with Dragon tail. This pattern continued for what felt like forever to the crowd, both Pokemon were exhausted, and their movements became sluggish.

What in the world is this guy's play, Max thought, then he saw Trent's eyes light up, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot.

Swampert forced the rest of its energy into one last attack on Milotic, and it connected. Milotic and Swampert were forced against the arena wall, both going limp and having spirals in their eyes.

Bonnie's P.O.V.

"What just happened," I said, not expecting a glare from Clemont, it was a valid question.

"Yeah, what did just happen, we saw Milotic take out a Z-powered Incineroar in the first round, so what happened?" May asked.

I looked around, everyone in the box had the same reaction, except Serena. I gave her a questioning look, which Ash saw and he turned to his wife.

"Do you know?"

Serena nodded, "Yes, Max received Milotic through a trade with a coordinator and-"

"Who in their right mind would trade away a Milotic," Dawn said.

"Someone desperate for an Alolan Raichu, anyway, he realized it was trained for performances and not battles. Knowing how closely I worked with Pokemon that are trained for performances and how closely I watch his," she gestured to Ash, "battles, he asked me for help in training it. Over the week I helped, Milotic learned moves that were perfect for battle, but the one flaw was that Milotic could barely take a hit, most times I was using Delphox and toning down her power and it would faint immediately. And Swampert used the last of its power to go a normal speed after both Pokemon had slowed down considerably so it was easily caught off guard and couldn't retaliate, brilliant strategy really."

She was right, it was a brilliant strategy. I turned back to the battlefield, Max and Trent had both picked their next Pokemon.

I know you can do it, Max.

Max's P.O.V.

Milotic was a risk I had to take, Swampert was one of Trent's three strongest Pokemon and I had to at least try to take it out. My eyes darted around the arena, Trent didn't have a lot of fans, and their loyalty to him was starting to waver. My fans, on the other hand, were only cheering louder, according to them, I was winning, but I knew Trent, he hadn't sent out his muscle yet, and he hid his ace's power in the earlier rounds.

"Mightyena, let's go," I yelled.

"SALAMENCE," Trent roared.

I heard the arena fall silent, Salamences were rare and their strength was practically legendary, most people went their entire life without seeing one.

"Use Thunder Fang," I yelled.

"End that mutt with Dragon Pulse," Trent countered.

Salamence opened his mouth and fired a green orb at Mightyena before he even got close. Mightyena flew back to me and landed at my feet, unconscious.

I planned to use Mightyena as a gage to see Salamence's strength, and he was strong. I scratched Mightyena behind its ear before returning it to his Pokeball.

"Braviary."

The same sequence was repeated, Braviary fell immediately, I was expecting that.

My hand hovered over the two Pokemon I had left before I made a definitive choice.

"You using your ace?" Trent sneered, his voice had become husky and raspier as the League went on.

I nodded.

"Salamence, return."

Trent snatched his other Pokeball from his belt.

"TYRANTRUM!"

"SCEPTILE!"

Sceptile roared when he was released. I noticed Trent's eyes flick from a golden band on his upper arm which had Sceptilite embedded into it, to my mega ring.

"Use Ancient Power."

"Cut through it with Leaf Blade," I shouted.

Tyrantrum fired a glowing orb from his mouth and two leaves on Sceptile's forearm sharpened and sliced through the orb.

"Fine then, Earthquake."

"Sceptile, Frenzy Plant," I yelled.

Sceptile slammed its fists into the ground and roots appeared across the battlefield as the ground began to shake. Sceptile swung through the roots, leaping off them, never staying on one root for more than a second, keeping him safe from Tyrantrum's Earthquake.

Some of the roots managed to hit Tryantrum, giving me hope that I could wrap this up quickly. I glanced at my mega ring, I wasn't worried yet but I was still wondering if I keep Sceptile in against Salamence, or if I had to use Gallade.

"Use Rock Slide," Trent called.

Glowing orbs appeared and turned to brown rock as they were hurled at Sceptile.

"Use Dragon Pulse and destroy them," I yelled.

Sceptile leaped into the air and formed green orbs between its hands and sent them flying towards the rocks causing multiple explosions.

Dust scattered around the field, Trent held up his arms to shield his eyes from the debris. I smirked at the sight, turns out glasses are good for something even though they'll be covered in scratches afterward.

Sceptile backflipped and landed a few yards from me. He tried to stand and fell back on to his knee, before raising himself, shaking for a bit.

"You okay, Sceptile?"

He gave me a thumbs up and turned back to Tyrantrum.

"GIGA IMPACT."

"LEAF BLADE."

Tyrantrum and Sceptile charged at each other at full strength, taking the full force of the others' attack.

A dust cloud appeared when the two met in the middle. Sceptile was launched back to me and landed at my feet, unconscious. Across the field, Trent was in the same situation.

We made eye contact, no one had to tell us that whoever won this final match would face Bonnie in the final, and neither of us would let the other win.

I kneeled down and rested Sceptile's Pokeball on my forehead.

"You did great, I'm really proud of you."

I stood back up and grabbed my final Pokeball.

"SALAMENCE!"

"GALLADE!"
