Aelin stood in the middle of the club, fists clenched. Chatter began again, people returning to their previous conversations.

That man! He'd practically made a fool out of her. She glared at the bartender who squirmed uncomfortably under her fixed attention. Aelin could almost feel the tick of the minutes slowly passing by. She internally slapped herself for acting so gloomy. It wasn't like she would ever see him again anyway.

She strutted out of the building, her arrogant manner returning to her, thankfully. Aelin gave one of the ogling men a sultry smile. She may be wearing sweats, but she still got it.

Nearly tripping over a crack in the sidewalk, she grabbed onto one of the telephone poles. Aelin, straightening her clothes, glimpsed a splotch of white from her periphery. She eyed the paper.

It was a flyer:

Calling all Actresses!

Do you want to be cast in an upcoming movie with America's most eligible bachelors?

Director Maeve is recruiting for a new TV show. Call star-888-999 for details.

Aelin ripped the flyer off of the pole and smiled. Maybe she would get a chance to meet him again after all and maybe, that wouldn't be such a bad thing.

She grinned slowly as a plan began to take shape.

The closet doors flung open as she dashed in wearing only a towel. Aelin stared at the rows of clothing, indecisive.

"Are you alright in there?" Dorian called from the living room.

She rummaged through the racks of clothing. "Yes. I'm spot on."

Aelin pulled out a stunning red dress before stuffing it back. She wasn't going to a ball.

"Okay, that's weird," said Chaol. "Cuz' you were in a cloud of gloom and silence for the past week." She rolled her eyes and there was a muffled ouch from the door. Dorian had probably pinched him since that was his only method of causing pain.

"We're just worried that's all. If you need to talk, we're here for you," Dorian said sharply, probably to correct Chaol's brash comment.

There were muffled whispers from the door. Aelin's hands tugged on a gold mini dress and she whistled. She was going to show him just what he was missing and it seemed that her thighs were going to make an appearance, too.

Her glittery reflection spun in the mirror. The golden dress sparkled in the bedroom light. It was sinched with a ribbon at the waist, which then fluffed into a short, silky skirt. The top part was a beautiful heart neckline covered with gold lace and pearls. She turned to admire the back view. Well, she was going to make an impression, that was for sure.

Aelin unlocked the door and strode out in a pair of strappy heels with cute bows on the back. The boys gawked at her and she did a spin for them. She heard them let out a few "damns" under their breaths.

"Good to see you're yourself again," Chaol commented. "Remind me, where are you going again?"

Dorian nodded as if he wanted to know this as well.

"I'm auditioning for the female lead in Starcrossed," she told them.

It helped that she was used to jobs that required attention and she adored being in the spotlight. It also didn't hurt that she had majored in theatre.

Aelin turned on her heel, uninterested in the conversation. Chaol said a sarcastic "Bye!" She gave the brass door knocker a swift kiss on her way out for good luck. It seemed to grin at her.

"See you later!" she called back at them.

Rowan was pissy. He had been the whole morning. Maeve had had the brilliant decision to create a new, steamy TV series with him as the male lead.

They were lined infront of a foldable table, preparing themselves for the auditions. Fenrys was the only one who seemed excited for this, another thing that made him so unlike Rowan.

Lyria had been melancholy the whole week, going on about "finding someone better" and that he should "search for his love". He refused and had been pissy ever since.

If that girl decided to show her face infront of him again, he would quit. Quit everything and leave with Lyria. Maybe then his life would finally fall into place.

Maeve clapped her hands together gleefully as she entered the room. "Are you ready for this?"

He let out an unenthusiastic "yes!" which was echoed by the others.

The first girl was plain. She wore a simple crewneck t-shirt and black pants. He could tell that she was not going to be the one.

Fenrys was the one to lead the interview. He dazzled the ladies with his smiles and polite words. Rowan was amazed by his colleague who managed not to doze off by this unending process of elimination.

The hours blended together and so did all of the auditionees faces. He fell asleep at one point and was harshly awoken by Lorcan who seemed to have been just jerked from sleep himself.

Finally, the line of females lessened and they began to pack up.

Maeve sighed from where she sat and said, "Well, that was overall unexceptional."

They nodded their heads in agreement when a firm knock came from the door.

A blonde head popped in, smiling brightly and said, "You always save the best for last, right?"

Muahaha.

Me: We love a good cliffhanger!

Everyone else: We really don't.

Anyways, sorry for not posting in a while. I hope you enjoyed this chapter, it was short, I realize. I enjoyed writing it, definitively (is that a word?)

Well, happy life to all of you and be kind to one another! Comments and advice is always welcome. Love!

(Oh, and please don't actually call star-888-999, not that I think any of you would do that, but I just don't want a random person to get an unexpected call.)
