Author's Note: Heyo! So I noticed that I have only introduced a small amount of characters. This time another character will be introduced. I know I haven't updated in a year, I had a severe writer's block and art block as well. I apologize to those who followed this story and I hope to be more active towards updating this story. To those who just picked up this story, I hope you enjoy it!
It was Tuesday morning and the city is busy as ever. The sun shone vibrantly in the sky as the day started. A certain blonde was walking through the halls of Corona High School with her sketchpad in hand. She was panicking as she recalled what happened yesterday.
'What could he possibly want from me?' Rapunzel mused, too focused on her thoughts. She hadn't noticed the figure in front of her that she had absent mindedly bumped into. The blonde snapped out of her reverie as the figure yelped in surprise; books sprawled all over the floor
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!" Rapunzel frantically apologized and helped picked up the mess she made, not daring to look at the person due to embarrassment.
"It's alright, there's no harm done." A familiar voice replied which caused the young blonde to raise her head. Upon looking at the person in front of her, she recognized it to be the one and only, Briar Rose.
"Oh my gosh! It's you!" Rapunzel exclaimed in excitement to which Briar replied with a small smile. "How have you been?"
"I've been doing alright, and you?" She replied as Rapunzel handed her some of her books. "You seemed to be deep in thought"
"Ah, well... you know. The stressed of life has got me thinking," she lied, well technically it was somewhat true. She looked at the girl in front of her and there was a nagging thought just itching at the back of her head. She can't seem to remember what it was.
"Oh, I understand that completely." The younger teen replied. She looked at Rapunzel and bit her lip in contemplation. The older teen saw the inner conflict within the girl and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey, you okay?" She asked.
"Actually...I have a favour to ask. I lost my pocketbook yesterday and I was wondering if you could help me find it." Briar replied sheepishly. She didn't have much friends, so asking for favours was definitely a first for her. "It's pink."
"A book?" Rapunzel repeated and after a few seconds of contemplation, she finally remembered what she was supposed to do. "Oh! You mean this one? I saw it on the table before I left the café." She said as she raised a pink pocketbook.
"Oh my gosh yes! This is exactly what I was looking for." Briar replied happily. The older teen gave her the pocketbook back and sheepishly rubbed the back of her head.
"Sorry I didn't give it sooner. If you hadn't reminded me, I would have forgotten about it."
"It's not a problem at all, I'm just glad that you were the one to find it." Briar replied with a smile. Not long after the school bell was heard reverberating along the halls, signaling the start of class.
"It seems like I have to go. Thank you, for finding and returning my book to me." She bowed and Rapunzel waved her hand in dismissal.
"It was nothing really. Now go have a fun day today!" She replied as she waved goodbye to the younger teen and walked towards her own homeroom, completely forgetting about what's to come later on the day.
In a different part of town, farther away from the city lies Die Krone Prep School. A very prestigious school for the most prestigious families. Its gothic architecture was one of its prominent features along with its vast courtyard. This is where the children of politicians, celebrities, and even royalties would attend to.
One young woman, the age of 16 walked through the halls with regality around her. Her long black tresses tied together in a ponytail of three parts. Her sun kissed skin glowed and her light make up made her eyes pop. As she walked down the halls, she heard one of her friends call her name.
"Jasmine! Wait up!" A girl with red hair ran towards her with excitement.
"Ariel! I haven't seen you in ages!" She exclaimed as she hugged her friend. The redhead laughed as she returned the hug.
"Oh come on, it's only been a week!" She replied.
"A week is long enough." She smiled as they started to walk down the halls together. She turned to look at her friend and noticed a certain glow to her.
"So, what have you been up to? We definitely need some time to catch up," Jasmine said and Ariel blushed as she recalled the events of yesterday.
"Well... I met this guy-"
"SHUT UP! NO WAY! Do you have a boyfriend?" The raven-haired girl exclaimed and Ariel quickly 'shushed' her whilst blushing profusely.
"Jasmine, calm down." She replied and started to play with her fingers in nervousness. "Well we met a few days ago but it's such a long story..."
"Alright missy, we're gonna have to talk about this TODAY," The Arabic girl replied as she stopped in her tracks and looked at her friend straight in the eyes.
"Today? But I-"
"No buts. I know I missed out a lot because I was at Agrabah for the past week but this is a serious matter." Jasmine replied, making herself clear. Her redheaded friend sighed in defeat and nodded her head in agreement.
"Alright, but you have to keep this a secret okay?" Ariel smiled at her friend and Jasmine smiled back.
"I will, now let's go to class before we get in trouble," The raven-haired girl replied while walking down the halls. Her friend laughed in response and followed suit.
As the day progressed in the city of Corona, two young maidens were walking towards a nearby cafe. The sun was shining brightly and the heat was uncomfortable. The sky with its vibrant colour held the tiniest of clouds; it was the start of spring. Although the wind was slightly cold, the heat of the sun's rays made it warmer. It was approximately two in the afternoon and some students were already dismissed for the day.
The redhead placed her hands in the pockets of her jacket, her scarf wrapped snuggly around her neck. She wondered if they would have to wear their spring uniform soon. Looking down at her feet, she focused on her black mary janes as she waited for her friend. She fidgeted in place, moving her feet by tapping it on the concrete ground.
"Hey, sorry for the long wait," a raven-haired girl called out from behind. Ariel turned and saw that her friend, Jasmine, was holding a paper bag of pastries and two iced lattes.
"Here, let me help," Ariel replied as she took the bag of pastries from her friend. Jasmine thanked her and they started walking.
"I wanted to talk in the cafe but it was full with students," the Arabian girl sighed in defeat. Her redheaded friend giggled beside her.
"Well, I wouldn't be surprised knowing how everyone spends their afternoon in that cafe. Plus, it's the closest one to school," she replied, giving her friend a sympathetic look.
"Yeah... You have a point about that," Jasmine replied as she took a sip from her cup. "So... Where to?"
"How about the park?" Ariel suggested and Jasmine raised up a quizzical brow.
"The park? In this weather?" The Arabian girl commented.
"Come on! It's not that cold out and besides, there's not a lot of people there," the Danish girl replied as she egged her friend on. After much deliberation, Jasmine agreed. They headed towards the park in amicable silence.
Upon their arrival at the park, they examined their surroundings. It was lush with green foliage and tall trees. The walls were decorated with vines and the outer edges were covered with flowerbeds. It was a serene and peaceful park with a large willow tree situated at the centre. The teenagers breathed in the fresh air, just basking in nature's glory before walking towards the lone willow.
"Wow, I've only been here a handful of times but it always takes my breath away," Jasmine smiled as she continued to look around.
"Me too. I don't think a lot of people know about this spot," Ariel replied as she settled at the base of the willow tree. It gave ample shade from the sun. Ariel beckoned for Jasmine to sit next to her, which her friend gladly followed.
"Soo... what's the tea?" Jasmine asked as she sipped from her drink. Ariel took her own and sipped from it whilst thinking about how to begin.
"Well... there's this guy I met a few hours before the Fisker's Company event. Do you remember that?"
"Oh yeah! I do! 'Tis a shame I wasn't able to attend it with you and Punzie," Jasmine recalled.
"Well... I was at the aquarium waiting for Rapunzel when a guy approached me and asked about my drawing," she dazed off, recalling the events that happened and sighed dreamily. The Arabian girl smirked as she took a strawberry danish bread from the bag.
"We started talking and we had this connection. He even likes mermaids!" Ariel beamed at Jasmine, which the latter replied with a playful punch.
"Wow, what a turn on," the Arabian girl teased her friend. The Danish girl went beet red and stammered as she tried to defend herself. "Oh come on, it was clearly a joke. Tell me more," she smiled.
"Okay," the redhead also took a pastry from the bag before continuing with her story. "So where was I? Oh yeah... Rapunzel found me talking to him and beckoned for me to go over. I was about to say good-bye to him but his friends drew his attention. I wasn't even able to tell him my name because we were pressed for time."
"Did he get to tell you his name?" Jasmine asked curiously.
"Yeah..." Ariel trailed off. "His name is Eric... Eric Fisker." Jasmine almost choked on her drink and started coughing profusely.
"WHAT! Hold the phone!" She exclaimed. As she put her hands up to silence Ariel, she started to develop a major headache. "Are you telling me... that your current beau is the one and only, Eric Fisker? The one who currently owns a big and important company mainly focusing on the importation of seafood?"
"Um... yes?" Ariel admitted with a small sheepish smile. Jasmine was, well, shocked to say the least. Sure she's happy and excited for her friend, but oh the drama that would ensue would be devastating.
"So did you guys meet again?" Jasmine asked while finishing her drink.
"Yes, we met yesterday. Apparently Punzie made friends with him and his friends as she rode with them to the aquarium," with this, Jasmine raised a brow. Ariel shook her head in dismissal, "It's a long story,"
"So Rapunzel hooked you guys up?"
"Maybe? I don't know... We met yesterday in one of the cafes in town by coincidence," the redhead replied. "Come to think of it... it was too good to be true."
"Hmmmm," the raven-haired contemplated. Ariel looked at her whilst finishing her drink and pastry. "Look, I'm happy for you Ariel, truly I am..."
"But? I can feel that there's more to that," Ariel faced Jasmine, her eyes looked into hers as she waited for the answer.
"But..." Jasmine sighed, "Don't you think that this is too big of a secret? Especially from your father..."
"I know that," she replied with a sad sigh. "I mean technically there's nothing going on between us anyways. He's the heir to his father's company... and I'm just a teenager," she hugged her knees and stared at the far distance. Jasmine tentatively placed a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry, I should have been more supportive," the Arabian girl confessed. It made her sad to see her friend so... heartbroken, because of her.
"It's alright. I have to be realistic anyways," Ariel looked at her and gave her a reassuring smile, although it didn't quite reach her eyes. She buried her head in sorrow and Jasmine felt helpless. So she got up, dusted her skirt and extended a hand towards her redheaded friend.
"Come on, there's no time to be moping around. I know a great place we can go to unwind," she smiled. Ariel looked at her hand hesitantly but then accepted her offer. Jasmine grinned as she helped her friend up, then gathered the trash. She quickly jogged to the nearest bin and headed back towards Ariel.
"Wait, let me send a text to Sebastian first before we go,"
"Sure, I have to let Razoul know about my whereabouts too."
After sending their respective messages, the teenagers walked towards their destination. Jasmine was set on making it up to her friend while Ariel tried to forget about the harsh reality of her infatuation.
