Teclis I
It is time spent in the Grail Alexander has learned from many of the Great and Powerful entities resting inside of it. From powerful Wizards, brave warriors, Savage brutes, and insane inventors he has had varying experiences with every one of them. each of them ranging from Pleasant to near horrific depending on who he was training with at the time it is through this collection of short stories that we will discover the goings-on of our protagonist and the various characters of the Warhammer universe.
Do be noted that some of the characters will be slightly OOC but I will be trying to keep them as close to their main interpretation as possible, but some changes will be made to fit the narrative. At the bottom will be a poll for who will be featured in the following chapters so please leave a review to choose the mentoring story.
Without further adieu Warhammer Fantasy/40k is owned by Games Workshop and Fate/Stay Night is owned by Type-Moon.
It had been several months since Alexander had arrived in Lilieath's grail and began his training with the various heroic spirits within the grail to prepare for the coming grail wars that he would be participating in. This would mean intense training and education to have a chance of surviving the coming conflicts.
At the moment we now see our intrepid hero back at the floating island of Alcatraz where he is in a deep meditative trance trying to connect to the basic motes of magic floating ambiently in the realm without relying on his elven form. But so far he was unable to feel much of anything as he heard the sounds of someone siping down a beverage of some sort.
Sparing a look Alexander saw, to his envy, the eponymous Loremaster Tclis floating in the air in a similar meditative position but instead of being on the ground, he was floating in the air his staff laid across his lap and a glass of wine in his hand. This just went further to make Alexander further louse his patience as he glared with annoyance and frustration at the aloof elf. Already his brow was wet from the stress of trying to control and master his new abilities.
Sensing his student's agitation Teclis opened his eyes to look down at his student noticing his foul expression and lack of progress.
"I see you still have yet to understand the inner workings of Qhaysh my apprentice?"
"Well not all of us can easily bend reality on a whim without the restrictions of a malevolent god now can we?!", he exasperatedly shot back.
At that response, Tecils's once amused look now took a slightly darker appearance as grimace spread across his features. He placed his wine glass on a floating server's plate which flew away from them as he made his way over to his pupil. Standing Alexander upon his feet he made the wizard in training look at his now scowling face.
"I see the struggles of my teaching have yet to diminish your temperamental feelings but those that master the hard path learn to respect it and improve. Your ability to turn into one of the Asur indeed greatly helps you with your magic but is unreliable due to the limited time you have while in that form.", the archmage lectured as he berated Alexander. "Alongside the fact that your foreknowledge of our world gives you a sense of superiority, but here your flaunting of such things will either greatly offend or cause the others to outright hostile."
At that thought, Alexander audibly gulped as he imagined pissing off Malekith or Grimgore. Shaking off those thoughts for the moment Alexander returned his gaze to that of his master who had to proceed with his apprentice's practice as he returned to his meditative stance, slightly floating above the ground.
Sighing and resuming his position back on the ground Alexander once again tried to tap into the latent magical winds that permeated this realm without relying on his inner magic circuits to fuel his spellcraft and magecraft as normal magi would back in his world. He vividly remembered his night of using the latent winds of magic to perform true magic in combination with his magic circuits but even then it was thanks to a preprepared ritual and the help of Lilaeth. It was thanks to her blessings and transforming him into a High Elf that allowed for such magical feats to be replicated.
Once again he began to empty his mind of all thoughts and feelings that he had towards his current situation and attempted to reach out to the raw magic flowing around him. In his mind, he could see the faint wisps of the winds as threads that blew on an invisible and formless breeze. Hesitantly he reached out to grab one, colored in a light blue, but it slipped through his grasp and snaked away from him.
He tried a second time to grasp the floating strands of magic and was met with the same result. Finally taking a deep breath and slowly activating his magic circuits he reached out at the strands of magic once again hoping that this would show better results than what had transpired the previous two times.
But now he could feel the thrumming power of the wisp he had grasped out for with his hand. It was one of the few blue strands that hummed with the power of Azyr, the wind of Heavens, which crackled with small bolts of electricity that tickled Alexander's hand. Now looking at his hand he saw the power of the wind crackling up and down his arm leaving a pungent smell of ozone in the air around him.
He could see Teclis looking at him with a sense of satisfaction as he was finally able to manifest one of the winds and control it without the need of his Elven form.
"Good attempt my student! Though this Is a decent application of your skills don't let it get to your head. Just because you can manifest the wind into energy you should be careful with the energy. It is wind after all and the wind does not wish to be contained.", Teclis explained.
Nodding in understanding Alexander started to deactivate his magic circuits in his body hoping to release the wind's power from his system. But instead of the power of the heavens leaving his body he could feel the crackling power rush to his heart!
Panicking for a moment he hastily reactivated his circuits to try and stop the flow of electrical magic from stopping his heart and potentially killing him, but at that moment his senses failed him. The power of Azyr ran wild in his chest as he could feel the wild energy writhe in his chest like an angry serpent. Immediately Teclis, noticing the dangerous rippling out of his student and his violent convulsions, rushed to his student trying to siphon the dangerous winds threatening his student's life.
It was then that Alexander, with his master easing some of the excruciating pain, felt something stir within the bowls of his modified soul. Reaching out with a mental hand he grabbed the anomaly in his soul, noticing it was similar to a closed-door, and swung it open. This door then like a drain began to suck the power of the wind now running rampant in his chest. As this happened he also noticed that his Od reserves were refilling and expanding further reinforcing and changing his soul to better accommodate the power of the wind.
As this was happening Teclis noticed the power of the wind receding and his student stabilizing. Feeling that there was more to this the Loremaster activated his witch sight and gazed upon the soul of his student and was surprised to find a large being wrestling and devouring a large snake composed of lightning and stars. And as the giant ate the snake small stars began to appear on the giant's skin, but before long the giant was finished with the snake and then sat himself down and facing away from the Archmage.
Dispelling his witch sight he then tended to his now stable student helping him up from the ground and giving him a cup of his wine. Alexander violently coughed as the strong tasting wine touched his lips and shakily looked up at his master Expecting to see anger or disappointment. Instead, is Master looked at him with a combination of worry and perplexion.
" In the name of the White Tower of Saphery, what are the names of the gods did you do my young student? Most who lose control of the winds of magic are turned into abhorrent spawns of Chaos. But instead, I saw into your soul and I saw you defeated the power and absorbed it into yourself.", spoke the perplexed archmage.
"I am unsure of myself. when you began to siphon the power of the magic of the Winds from my body I noticed something within my soul, not the Grail mind you, but perhaps another mutation brought upon by the grail's interference with my body.", Alexander spoke in hushed tones his breath raspy from the lightning that ravaged his body and soul.
"Upon grasp and I noticed that it opened a portion of my soul where the Od is stowed and began to be absorbed while also changing something within me. Do you think mutation or other problems involved with chaos might appear from this?"
"I know not chosen of our lady, but with the lack of interaction that the changer of ways has in this universe I would not worry too much."
At that Alexander let out an anxious breath of air that held much of his fears over the situation. But this moment of respite was ended by a zap to the head from his teacher whose look of concern returned to that of a stoic teacher.
"However interesting this new development is you still have to learn the basics, and given this current development I suppose you still have much to learn. Though I suppose this new change should indeed to new experiments that we can conduct."
At this mention, Alexander fearfully did a double-take now noticing a menacing smile spreading across his teacher's face. Already Alexander could see the various "experiments" he would have to undergo to amuse his master's and perhaps the other wizard's amusement.
Letting out an exhausted sigh mixed with the pain of his previous endeavor he slumped back in the chair and close his eyes to the mirthful cackling of his teacher. All you can hope for is that the next one to teach him Would not actively experiment on his body to discover the various secrets that the goddess of magic the old world had augmented him with.
"Not to worry my pupil afterward I'll make sure that you teach me about this wi-fi you praise so much."
" Very well master Teclis. Just don't let Morathi or any of her ilk know of it or else we may have a new chaos god on our hands."
And there goes my first chapter in this Anthology series. I wish to make more chapters involving Alexander's time in the Grail to show his development and further flesh out the various characters within the Warhammer fantasy universe to make them either more relatable, show them in hilarious situations, or just goof around with strange ideas I have going on. I have a poll set up on my Site for who the next teacher for Alexander should be and I will go off from there from your decisions. I wish you all a safe and happy New Year and may you be kept safe from Nurgle's rot. May Sigmar watch over you all.
