Danielle ran down the street towards the Queen Vic pub. It was all over. Her locket, her last link to her mother, Ronnie Michell was gone. How was she going to get her mother to believe her now? She had just been assaulted by two boys who had taken all her stuff: keys to the Slater's place, phone, money, but all she cared about was her locket. She was distraught. She knew what she needed, who she needed.

She had planned this since she was 10. She had given her name and number to the agency, her real name, Amy Michell, hoping her mother would contact her. At that point her mother was in Ibiza. She was always going to find her when she was older. Her best friend knew that she was going to find her mother. She found out 8 years Later, when she rung again, that she wasn't in Ibiza anymore but Walford. So off she went.

She ran into the Queen Vic pub. Her clothes were ruffled and she was sobbing her heart out. She had today all planned out. Ronnie would be in in 5 minutes and they would sit down and she would tell her, they would hug and her life and birthday would be complete.

Her Auntie Roxy was sitting at the bar, turned round and was shocked. Danielle, this little girl, who always hung around Ronnie was sobbing her heart out. Roxy immediately ran over to her and hugged her. Danielle broke down further and said through her tears, 'I want my mummy!'

Roxy took the girl over to an empty bench and gave her a hug. 'Auntie Roxy,' Danielle said sadly. Now Roxy was confused, auntie? What was she on about? 'My Locket!' Roxy was even more confused. 'I want my mummy, Auntie Roxy, my locket,' she sobbed out into Roxy' s side. Roxy was so confused. Why was Danielle here sobbing asking for her mum here in the pub instead of anywhere else.

Ronnie turned up at that moment and saw Roxy conferring Danielle. She was not in a good place, especially today. Today was the day nineteen years ago she lost her daughter, her dad stole her from Ronnie's arms. Two hours and twenty-three minutes. That was all she had with her daughter. She wandered over to Roxy and sat down on the other side of Danielle. 'Danielle,' Ronnie said, putting her hand on Danielle's shoulder. 'It will all be fine, Danielle.' Danielle sat up at her name and immediately threw herself at Ronnie, hugging her tightly. 'Best Birthday Ever!' Danielle articulated through her tears.

Roxy was shocked. Danielle was sobbing calling out for her mum and now as soon as Ronnie touched her and called her name, she was immediately happy. There was only one possible explanation, that also explained the' Auntie' comments. She was Ronnie's daughter, Danielle was Amy. But that meant that her dad had lied.

Ronnie was shocked. Danielle, the annoying little girl who always hung around her was hugging her tightly as if her life depended on her. She could not cope. She slowly extracted herself from the girl and walked away. She could not cope with another blonde girl holding her. It reminded her too much of the daughter she lost. Twice. According to her dad, she'd died 13 years ago.

Danielle suddenly sat up and shouted: 'Abandoning me again!' The whole pub was silent as Danielle began tearing into Ronnie. They wanted to hear every word Danielle screamed across the pub. 'I really can't cope with this today,' Ronnie said tearfully, turning away again. 'That's right, turn away again.' 'I'm sorry I couldn't come with you to the second appointment.' 'Nineteen years. NINETEEN YEARS!' the younger girl healed across the pub. 'That's it, always thinking about yourself.'

Roxy looked at Auntie Peg, 'close the pub,' Roxy said. 'Right that's it, guys shows over.' 'You can't even be there for me when I'm breaking down in front of you, can you?' Danielle screamed once more over the din of people moving out the door.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. 'We're closed!' Peggy called out. 'Danielle, Danielle!' Stacey Slater called out through the door. She had seen the pubs patrons being turfed out and had curiously enquired as to why. When she heard that Danielle was having a slinging match at Ronnie, she knew she had to get in there and try and calm her down.

The door opened to let Stacey in. She saw Danielle standing with tears streaming down her face, Roxy trying desperately to calm her down and Ronnie standing looking as if she wanted to be anywhere but there. Stacey glared at Ronnie before running over to Danielle. Stacey knew that Ronnie was to blame for Danielle's state. She had to be. 'What's happened?' Stacey asked Danielle. 'I want my mummy! My locket. My birthday!' Danielle cried out. Something had happened to her locket and it had upset her. She obviously wanted Ronnie to hug her and tell her that everything was going to be ok, but she would much rather run away from her daughter. She looked at Roxy glare at Ronnie as she opened her mouth. 'Ronnie, shut up for once in your life, and sit down!' 'Rox! You know what today means to me…' Ronnie began. 'Veronica Michell, shut up and shut up. Trust me it'll be worth it.' Roxy said smiling by the end. 'Danielle, sit down there, please. I need to have a little chat with Stacey. Ron, don't say anything!'

Roxy led Stacey to the foot of the stairs. 'Stacey, I know I hurt you so much with Sean but I'm only thinking of Danielle. Ronnie's her mother, isn't she.' Stacey looked at her for a minute before answering 'yes' Roxy sighed. Ronnie would be pissed with everyone but no more than herself. She had hurt the one thing she'd wanted all her life, all over a case of mistaken identity.

Roxy and Stacey came out. Ronnie was still sitting where Roxy had put her, whereas Danielle was sitting, still quietly sobbing. They knew that they had to be cruel to be kind to Ronnie. But have to use a delicate hand with Danielle as she was prone to anger.

'Danielle,' Roxy begam carefully, 'what is so important about the locket that you keep mentioning? 'It is the only thing that you left me before I was dumped!' Danielle answered, pointing at Ronnie.' What does it have in it?' Roxy continued, not giving Ronnie a chance to argue the accusation. 'A picture of my mummy,' Danielle crocked out. Ronnie was shocked, she was being accused of dumping a girl with a locket nineteen years ago. Ronnie was beginning to understand. 'Ronnie mentioned an abortion.' 'I took my mum, cas I wanted her love. I'm a terrible daughter!' 'Danielle,' Ronnie said calmly, almost motherlike, 'did anybody go with you on the second day?' Danielle's shake of his head made Ronnie hypo-ventilate. But how? Her dad had lied to her again, not an impossible occurrence. Her thoughts turned to her own actions. She was an idiot and an awful mother. Her daughter, however was breaking down again. It pained her to know that she was the one behind all that pain. She knelt down in front of her miserable daughter. 'Danielle,' she began, through tears, 'Amy' she continued. At her name, her real name being said with such love with the caring voice she desperately needed to here. 'Mum,' Danielle said, giggling. She had just received the best, most dreamed about birthday present ever.

'I'm sorry, so, so sorry for everything,' Mum, I know, but I don't care. We can talk later about everything. Today is my birthday and I've just got my dream present. I'm sorry too.' 'Not as much as I am.' Ronnie stated firmly to her daughter, not letting Danielle argue with her. 'OK,' the younger girl said.' Come on, shall we open the pub again. Maybe Ron can teach you how to pull pints,' Roxy said, smiling. 'Come on sweetie,' Ronnie said,' before that let's clean your up.'' OK,' Danielle said, tearfully, getting up, going to the public toilet. 'Now, let's go upstairs and Rox can open up again.'

Ten minutes later, Danielle was between her mum and Aunt trying and failing to pull the perfect pint having failed the first time. There was a massive crowd round them, watching and wondering why Danielle was behind the bar. Suddenly, a woman pushed through the crowd and said 'DCI Samantha Nixon Sun Hill CID!'
