Her eyelids were squeezed together, trying to sleep until the morning sun comes up to greet her. The sounds of the clock ticking at midnight didn't help her either. She slowly open her eyes and let out a small sigh. She have to sleep by now.
"It's midnight..." Fluttershy said to herself, softly as always. "Today's the day mom went to heaven. Mom..."
She sit up and said, "I can never sleep when I think about mom."
The little pegasus got out of bed and walk around the rather small room. Even with a small room, it was filled with her many memories, like her white rabbit, Angel, who slept on his little, leafy bed. She glance at the bookshelves filled with story books that her mother used to read to her, and yet she always thought these stories were kind of odd to her (or at least some pony her age), like the Red-Eyed Stranger.
She notice something that fell out of the bookshelves and pick it up in her mouth.
A... gem? Fluttershy thought, putting the gem in her mane for safekeeping.
Then she notice a portrait of her mother. Fluttershy could see she got most of her looks from her mother, from the mane to the eyes and even the wings. She looks almost like her mom, but her mother have a wonderful coat of snow white instead of the yellow Fluttershy have from her father, and a cutie mark of three, light pink feathers and a shiny, red ribbon that tied them together. She can't really remember what was her mother's special talent exactly. She believed it had to do something about decorations or something like that.
Fluttershy's small smile turn into a frown when she remember the very day her father told her that her mom died from an illness. She still couldn't believe it, but she have to move on.
"What should I do, mom? I do love father, but..." Fluttershy said, like the photo was real and could possibly talk to her. "She scares me... She's always... looking at me with those eyes... I hate her, but I know father likes her. If father and her got married, I guess she would be my new mom. I don't want her to be my mom. I don't need a new mom. There's only one mom in the world for me... Mom..."
A small tear fall from her eye as she said, "Why did you have to go?"
Fluttershy look around the room, remembering the little things, like the doll she got from her father. It looked so real when she first got it. Now, it's old and worn out. She could easily remember the day she did.
A younger Fluttershy was standing in the middle of her room with her father by her side. Her father happily gave his gift and said, "I brought you a present, Fluttershy!"
"Yay! It's a doll!" Fluttershy quietly shouted, cuddling the doll close to her. "Thank you, father!"
The yellow pegasus's father smiled at her, glad to see her happy.
'What a pretty doll!' Fluttershy thought. 'It's almost as if it's real...'
The young pegasus's teal eyes suddenly widen when she felt the room gotten quite cold as she thought, The room feels cold all of a sudden...
"I'm kinda scared... I should get back to bed now." Fluttershy said to herself, returning herself to bed. "Good night..."
In a field of flowers, a young Fluttershy happily sang a song as her father was making something special for her.
"You sing so well, Fluttershy!" Her father complemented.
The yellow pegasus stopped her singing to ask, "Father, would you look this way?"
"Give me a moment." Her father said. "Just put this here..."
Her father smiled and said, "Yes! It's finished!"
Fluttershy could feel something on her head, and notice it was a flower crown, saying, "A flower crown?"
The young pegasus turn to him and ask, "Does it look good on me?"
"Yes, I think it suits you well." Her father said.
"Yay!" Fluttershy quietly cheered. "Thank you, father!"
"I'm sorry I can't alway play with you." The yellow stallion said, gently petting her mane.
"Father..." Fluttershy smiled and said, "It's alright. I'm glad I could play with you today, father."
Her mother walk her way towards the two and said, "Oh my! You two were playing?"
"Mom!" Fluttershy shouted in her usually volume, walking towards her. "Look! Father made me a flower crown."
"That's wonderful! It looks great on you, Fluttershy!" The white pegasus said. "So you played with him all day?"
"Yeah. We should do this again, father."
"Yes, we should. Next time, your mother should join in." Her father said.
"Well, I look forward to it..." Her mother said as a gentle smile appears on her face until she suddenly violently coughed and felt onto her knees.
"Mom!" Fluttershy shouted in shock as her teal eyes widen.
"I-I'm sorry... Just another fit..." The white mare said, then she went into another fit of coughing, hacking, and wheezing.
"Don't push yourself if you're not doing well!" The yellow stallion said. "Come, get some medicine from Heal Sea. It should help you get better."
"No... I can get that myself..."
"Mom, are you hurt? You're okay, right?" Fluttershy ask with a small frown on her face.
"Sorry to worry you. I'm perfectly fine." Her mother said with a small smile on her face. "Don't look so anxious, please! Fluttershy, your smile keeps me going best of all! If I can't see you smiling, it only makes me worry..."
"Mom..." Fluttershy smiled innocently and said, "Okay!"
"Now, let's get back for dinner. I made hayburger steak tonight! You like that, right?"
"Hooray! I love mom's cooking! Right, father?"
"Hahaha, of course! Her hayburgers are best in the world!" Her father said with a laugh.
We were so happy then. There was Heal Sea, but... Even so, the three of us were a happy family. But then mom passed away from illness...And the happiness we had then, well...
The sound of the clock reach her ears, but the sound of a stallion's scream made her wake up and quietly shout, "Huh?!"
"That scream... Father?" Fluttershy wondered. "Something must have happened... I'll go check on father!"
Before Fluttershy left the safety of her room, she said to herself, "I have a bad feeling..."
Upon exiting her bedroom and taking a few steps into the hallways, the yellow pegasus stop in place when she heard a low moaning noise and said, "What's this sound...? Is it a voice?"
The pegasus filly let out a scream and fell back once blood appeared on the wall and the floor.
"Eek...!" Fluttershy squeaked.
Her teal eyes widen in horror once two zombie, pony-like creatures appeared in front of her. Both of them were covered in blood and wounds on their green and orange coats as their brown and green manes were barely hanging onto their scalps.
"Nooo...!" Fluttershy quietly panicked, slowly backing away from the two.
As the two monsters slowly approaches the yellow pegasus, she said, "No... Don't..."
Her teal eyes widen at the sound of a female voice saying, "This way!"
"Who's that?!" Fluttershy ask.
"Come this way way!" The voice shouted.
"Is there somepony there...?"
Fluttershy ran towards the direction of the voice and once she reach the end of the hallway, she saw a filly pegasus, who was facing the wall, letting the yellow filly only see one side of the unknown pegasus. The unknown filly have a blue coat with bits of blood on it, a long, messy, rainbow mane and tail, magenta eyes, and a cutie mark of a white cloud shooting out a yellow, red, and blue lightning bolt.
"Who are you?" Fluttershy ask the pegasus.
"This way." The blue pegasus said.
"Who...?"
"Stay with me."
Fluttershy let out a gasp and step back once the blue filly turn towards her and said, "I said, this way!" On the other side of the blue filly's face, there was a great wound, along with the fact that her eye is gone.
"Nyahhh...!" The yellow pegasus squealed in fright.
Fluttershy ran away from the blue filly, but only to be met with the two zombies, causing her to run to her room. Her eyes widen when she saw a odd-looking creature standing in front of her bookshelves. The creature seemed to be a mixture of animals, like his lion paw and his red, dragon-like tail.
"Who's that?!" Fluttershy panicked.
"Many interesting books in this room here..." The creature said, letting his claw touch the books' spines. "Do you like books, my dear?"
"Who are you?!"
"Now, don't be so aggressive. I'm merely a salesman." The creature said,walking to the middle of the room.
W-What's a man? Fluttershy thought nervously.
"Salesman...?" Fluttershy said.
"Call me Discord. I hope to get to know you, young lady." The creature said.
Fluttershy gotten quiet until Discord said, "But it's quite troublesome... To think that corpses loiter around the house..."
"Corpses...? Those monsters back there?" Fluttershy ask. "They're like monsters from a story... Why would monsters like that...?"
"Well, it's a curse."
The yellow filly was quite shocked to hear that as Discord said, "What you saw were the corpses of your father's test subjects. Overcome with anger, those deceased have been brought back by the power of a curse. To take revenge on your father... Of course."
"What?!" The filly shouted in shock. "So father is in danger...? I have to save him!"
"Why is that?" Discord said, tapping his claws together as Fluttershy turn towards the door.
Fluttershy turn back to him as Discord said, "To achieve his desires, he has killed many ponies as part of his experiments. This is his retribution. You must have realized by now... Your father's true nature... And yet you wish to save him?"
Fluttershy stayed quiet, and left without saying a single word. Once she left, Discord said to himself, "My, my... Perhaps she cannot yet understand our sorrow..."
Discord let out a small chuckle, waking up the white bunny in the room.
AN: I'm sorry for not updating the story for a very long time. Also, I'm sorry that the characters, or at least Discord and Fluttershy, aren't exactly in their own characters, but more closer to Aya's and Ogre's characters. Anyway, I hope you like this story.
