From the door, Fluttershy stopped to look back at the bloodied mare on the floor. Her mind told her to run off, but at the same time, Heal Sea is in the same situation as her.
Among the shady drugs, the young pegasus was able to find a roll of bandage; perfect for the situation.
"Oogh... Doc... tor..." The mare groaned as Fluttershy helped in healing her.
"This should help stop the blood..." Fluttershy commented as Heal Sea sit up on her knees.
"Mistress... Thank you for caring for me..." Her eyes didn't meet her's.
"It's fine, don't worry about it!"
"I should be most loathsome in your eyes..."
"Don't say that..."
"It's true... I've known how you feel, mistress. I took away your most beloved. Of course, you would hate me. But you are very kind to show me such compassion..."
"Heal Sea..." She looked at her with sympathy. "Heal Sea, can you stand?"
"Mistress?"
"Let's get out of here together."
The mare's eyes widen in shock for a moment. "But... Mistress..."
"I'm the same as you, Heal Sea. I thought I couldn't live without father. But, the way father thinks of us... I don't want to be a doll. So I can't be with him anymore... But you and I, we can't live alone... So... Let's go together. Even if father's gone, I know the two of us can make it!"
"Mistress..." At first, the mare seemed to hesitate, but she slowly stood up; her legs shaky. "I shall accompany you."
Fluttershy gave her a smile in return.
The mare let out a painful groan until she nearly felt til Fluttershy came to her side to steady her. "Heal Sea!"
"Apologies, mistress... But could I have your shoulder?"
"Yes..."
With one foreleg wrapped around the young pegasus's shoulder, the two attempted to escape the manor until Heal Sea fell to the floor in the stone hallways.
"Heal Sea!" Fluttershy cried out in worry.
"Mistress... Never mind me! Escape!" The unicorn tried to have her flee.
"No... We're leaving together!"
"I can't go any further... You must escape alone, mistress."
"I can't go alone..."
"It is fine. I shall not leave you alone. I will follow behind for sure... Believe me, please..."
"Heal Sea..."
Fluttershy gave her a nod, then ran off.
She ran and ran until she found herself in the Alter room, falling to the floor by a giggling doll holding onto her back legs.
"Found you, Fluttershy." The young filly gasped, noticing the stallion on the alter itself, as if he just teleported in despite being an earth pony. "That's enough of our game of tag, Fluttershy. I have to keep you still, don't I?"
Fluttershy struggled against the doll, desperate to escape. "Let GOOO!"
He hopped down to the ground; his face slightly softened. "I didn't want to hurt you, Fluttershy... It's a shame."
"No... Stop, father..." Fluttershy begged.
"But I can cover your leg with a skirt easily enough, so it should be fine."
"I don't want this... I wanted to stay with you always... I love you... father... So please... Please stop this...!"
"Fluttershy..." He held onto his chainsaw. "Don't worry. Father and Fluttershy will always be together now. So rest in peace... Fluttershy..." He held the roaring chainsaw above his head. "I love you."
She let out a terrified scream, but she was saved.
Knives fly right into his side, causing him to drop his weapon next to him. He cried out in pain, clinging onto his stomach.
"Fath..." She cut herself off as her father looked at her, calling out her name. "Father...!"
"I... love... you... Fluttershy..."
She let out a gasp as more knives were stabbed into him, and she can't help but to let out a n anguished wail.
Heal Sea slowly approached them. With one swoosh of a knife, the unicorn knocked the doll off of the young pegasus.
"Mistress..."
"Heal Sea..."
"Are you hurt?"
Fluttershy couldn't answer, but cry and clung onto her, desperate for comfort. "Father isn't moving... Did father... die...?"
"I apologize, mistress." Heal Sea stroke her mane. "I had no other choice left to protect you."
"...Okay. I guess this is for the best..." Right, mom?
The touching moment was cut short by the crazed laughter of her father springing back to life.
Before Fluttershy could even finish her scream, the stallion dropped dead by no other than the blue filly from before.
"I'm glad I made it!" The bandaged filly proclaimed.
Fluttershy could only stay silence, so stunned that she fell to her knees.
"Mistress!" Heal Sea quickly cam to her side.
Surrounded by the familiar walls of the front entrance, and Heal Sea and her Angel by her side, Fluttershy was able to say, "You saved us... Thank you..."
"No need for thanks. I just did what she asked." The rainbow filly humbly said.
"You mean my mom?"
She nodded. "I said I was sorry for scaring you. I had no intention of harming you... Believe that, at least."
"I understand... Mom was trying to protect me. Thank you, mom... I want to see her again..."
"She wanted that, too. But I don't think she wanted to be seen as she is now."
"That's... Whatever mom looked likem I'd..."
"It's alright. She's watching you form afar. So don't be sad. If you are, it will only make her sad."
"Right..."
"The curse will wear off soon... So it's almost farewell."
"You'll go away?"
"We're all alive now only because of the curse..."
"...I see."
"But there's something I must do before I go. And that is set fire ti this mansion."
Fluttershy's eyes widen at that. "Why would...! You can't do that! All these memories of being happy here..."
"This place simply can't be left intect. It's possible that somepony could find it and continue you're father's work. We can't let the same tragedy happen again."
The yellow filly gazes down on the floor. "Is that what mom wanted, too?" Though the rainbow filly didn't say a single word, Fluttershy understood what she would say. "Okay... If that's what what mom wanted, then do it..."
She heard a step forward behind her. "Mistress..."
"It's okay, Heal Sea. Even if this house is gone, my memories of father and mom won't go."
"Mistress..." She took a step back. "Yes, that's right..."
"Fluttershy, there's one thing I ask of you." The rainbow filly said. "Do not ever forget the ponies who were sacrificed here. None of is had any relatives. No pony looked for us... No pony knew we existed at all. Our existence will be forgotten to the world. But we did indeed live. So I don't want you to forget that. I want you to hold proof in your heart that we were here. That is the least you can do for us."
"Yes... I'll never forget."
"Thank you... Well, this is goodbye..."
As if by magic, the house was set ablaze, and the rainbow filly approached her. Giving her a kiss of her forehead, she said, "Goodbye, Fluttershy. May you be smiled upon."
She took a few steps back and added, "Now, go." A soft smile graces her lips.
"Goodbye..." Fluttershy said, realizing she doesn't even know her name.
Angel hopped onto her back as they left, leaving the unnamed filly behind.
Among the burning house, there was still the dying stallion in the alter room. The fact he was still alive gains him the chance to start anew.
"Ponies are such utterly foolish creatures..." One Discord have said to pony in particular. "I have seen countless many foolish ponies. But you are the most foolish of them all. A pony mad with desire is more fearsome than any demon. And yet I adore such foolish ponies... Come with me. Come with me, and you may research to your heart's content."
The body in front of him twitched, and he can't help but to smile.
In the grassy field, Heal Sea and Fluttershy watches the manor burn as Angel play with the grass.
"It is just the two of us now..." Heal said.
"Well, and Angel Bunny." Fluttershy corrected.
"Hoho... Yes, that's right." She smiled for a moment, but she became forlorn. "What shall we do now...?"
"I don't know... We have to find somewhere to live... But I'm sure I can't live alone. Heal Sea... Will you come with me?"
"Yes, of course. You have done much for me, mistress. Now it is time for me to help you. Whatever awaits us ahead. I wish to protect you all the way."
"Thank you..." Fluttershy sharply turned around. "Let's go."
"Are you sure? You won't watch it to the end...?"
"...Yeah. It's fine."
The two walk ahead, but Fluttershy stopped and look back on her burning home. "Actually, I wonder where that creature went? I kinda hope her's okay..." She felt Angel was at her side. "I'm sure he'll be alright, though. He's a really a strange guy. Come on, Angel."
Fluttershy allowed Angel to hop onto her back. "Father, mother... Goodbye..." She turned around, but was surprised to find a familiar book on the ground.
Up ahead, Heal stopped and turned around, noticing Fluttershy wasn't following behind her. "Mistress?"
Fluttershy raced up to her.
"What is the matter?"
"Hm... Nothing. Let's go." The young pegasus fluttered her wings a bit, annoying Angel, and continue on running up ahead.
"The mistress is very hardy... Even after that harsh experience, she walks on without shedding a tear. With the mistress beside me, I feel we can overcome anything." A small frown replaces her smile. "...However... What is this uneasiness I feel? ...Doctor?"
Surrounded by the woods, a gray pegasus quickly fly her way to a log cabin. "I'm finally here!" Though she nearly lost her balance, she was able to land right in front of the stairs. "I've heard about this place..." She looked at the sign nearby that says, "Shy Clinic." "Clinic...? Yeah, this must be the place. It's out in the middle of nowhere... No pony would even notice it."
She approached the door and knocked. It was answered by a young, yellow mare with short, pink hair.
"U-Um... Hello..." The gray pegasus said shyly.
"Ah, a patient! Welcome." The yellow pegasus smiled kindly to her.
She's so pretty... Is she the doctor?
"What seems to be the problem?"
"Yes, well... I was born rather feeble... I usually get checkups from my local doctor, but... how do I say this? My family is really poor, so the doctor's given up on me. That's why I came here. I heard the doctor here does checkups for free..."
"Yes, we don't ask any money from our patients. So don't worry."
"Really? I honestly don't have any, so... I can really get examined?"
"Of course!"
The gray pegasus jumped for joy. "Th... Thank you so much!"
"What's your name?"
"I'm Derpy. Derpy Hooves."
"Derpy... That's a wonderful name. I'm Fluttershy. Nice to meet you, Derpy!"
"Yes! You too!" Then Derpy suddenly coughed, moving herself to the side.
"That doesn't sound good! We should examine you right away." Fluttershy moved to the side. "Come in, come in!"
As the two enter the cabin, Fluttershy commented, "For somepony who's not all that healthy, you were able to carry yourself quite a long distance. Was it difficult for you?"
"I met a kind old mare on the way here, who took me part of the way by coach. It was so nice of her!"
"There are some really nice ponies out there..."
"Just like you, Dr. Fluttershy."
The yellow pegasus let out a soft giggle. "You think so?" She moved out of the way for her, allowing Derpy to the examination room. "Now, lie down here." She motioned to one of the tables.
As Derpy lay on the table, the yellow pegasus went to her cabinet of medicine and supplies.
Boy, I'm nervous... Derpy can't help but to think to herself.
Soft hoofsteps was heard from the other room.
I hear hoofsteps... Is there somepony else who lives here?
Fluttershy came to her side, now wearing a medical mask. "Stay very still while I apply anesthesia."
"Ah... Yes..."
The yellow pegasus drew closer. "You have very pretty eyes, you know..."
"Oh...!"
"So beautiful... I'm almost getting lost in them."
Derpy can't help but to blush. "Really? N... no pony's said that to me before... Thank you very much...?"
Another giggle came from the young doctor. "Nervous, huh? It's fire. Just relax your shoulders..."
"Doctor..." She closed her eyes, trying to relax. "Do you think you can make me better?"
"Of course! From now on, you'll never suffer again. So take it easy. And go to sleep..."
In another room, an aging Heal Sea stared at the group of dolls.
"Indeed, the mistress... is much like you. It does run in the family... Doctor."
AN: So fun fact: If I wrote out the whole story, Derpy would have been the girl who wanted to be part of the family, not the sick girl.
Also, did you know that there's another remake of Mad Father? But this one just gives a whole new layer to the story, and I wish I would give that a write too, but I feel like I should leave this fanfic for now.
