(Clinton POV)
Class ended as I sling my bag over my shoulder and started heading out the door before I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around and saw Alice behind me as I raised an eyebrow at that point wondering if she was able to connect the dots that fast.
"Can I help you?" I asked curious smiling since it was a bit cute how energetic and bubbly she is. It fits her honestly and why am I thinking these things as I shake my head to clear these thoughts.
"I was wondering. Do you know him" Alice asked pointing to my shirt while I knew where this was going.
"A bit actually" I said to her since I figured being honest was the best thing right now.
"Can you ask him and the girl with the clock in one eye to meet me and Rosalie?" She asked me as I tried to think of someway for them to meet somehow.
"Well. I can't contact him but you might want to listen to anything out of the ordinary in the forest. From what I've heard they tend to go on patrol every now and then" I told her since that was kinda true. Me and the others do go on patrol.
"Alright. Thank you" Alice said hugging me while I just stood there unsure on what to do before deciding to just hug back as Alice let go and smiled before leaving when I heard three people snickering as I turned around just in time to see my fellow teammates grinning and holding their phones.
"So..Enjoyed the hug?" Bri asked teasingly as I just facepalmed at this point knowing that wasn't gonna go away for a while.
"Please tell me you didn't" I pleaded to them as I knew what they were gonna say at this point since it was pretty obvious that they did record it.
"No promises" Kelly said smirking as I sighed as went to Biology which was our final class for the day as the teacher greeted us as we went in as Kelly and Bri paired up while I paired up with Mike as Bella had to pair up with Edward as Kelly tapped me as I looked at her before she nodded her head at Bella. I saw that Edward was backing away from Bella a bit disgusted as I raised an eyebrow before deciding to just focus on the lesson. After the bell rings, we walked over to Bella as Edward left quickly.
"What was that about? Need a new shampoo Bella?" I asked jokingly as Bella scoffed at that point.
"Considering he was forming fists under the table. I doubt that's the problem" Bella said as she got up and we left the classroom.
"Gonna change class?" Kelly asked her as she just shrug as we walked towards the Administrator as we saw Edward there.
"There must be something open sixth period. Physics? Biochem?" He asked as we traded glances knowing something was up if he's trying to change classes.
"No, every class is full. I'm afraid you'll have to stay in biology. I'm so sorry" the Administrator said as Kelly scoffed at that since it means we won't be able to change class if we want to. Edward looked at us but was glaring at Bella.
"I'll just endure it" Edward said as he left while I glared at him not liking how he was treating one of my teammates.
"You alright" Bri asked as we saw Bella was shivering which surprised us since she was one of the more hard to scare ever since facing monsters.
"Yeah just felt like I was facing the Hydra the first time" Bella answered honestly as we just left to the parking lot as we saw the Cullens get into a Volvo while me and Kelly looked at Alice and Rose who just gave us a quick smile before they got in their car.
"Me and Kelly gotta head to the Grocery store" I said to them as I could see Bella and Bri looking at me. I knew I was forgetting something but what is it.
"Clint...You promised we'll get pets" Bri said which made I sigh knowing I won't win this one. It was three against one.
"Alright. We'll stop to adopt some pets" I said to them as Bri and Bella eyes widen in glee as they got in Bri's car before they drove off as Kelly looked at me smirking.
"That was easy" She said as she got in the car while I rolled my eyes at her. I could never win any argument when the girls are involved. Maybe it's just me being nice or them using that dreaded puppy eyes but I don't really care at this point.
"Yeah well, it's either we adopt some pets or they'll keep pestering me" I said light-heartedly while I drove out of the parking lot and started driving to the local supermarket. I put some music on as I was keeping my eyes open for any animal shelter.
"So what did you and Alice talk about?" Kelly asked me as I grimaced knowing that if there are monsters here. They'll strike tonight which means her and Rose might find us the moment we were done fighting whatever monster that is.
"Alice wanted to meet us later tonight with Rose" I said to her as Kelly's eyes widen as I know a million thoughts were going through her mind as it is.
"You mean as Ticci and Clockwork?" She asked me which I just nodded as she became silent as I glanced at her seeing that she was frowning at me.
"Kelly, you know we can't avoid this. I just hope they can connect the dots faster. I don't know why but it feels wrong keeping this from Alice" I said to her. I never felt like this before. It was easy when it comes to hiding it from others but when it comes to her. It feels wrong like I was betraying which doesn't make sense. I don't know her too well.
"You alright there?" Kelly asked a bit worried as I shake my head knowing I couldn't hide any kind of feelings I have in front of them.
"No. I don't know why but It's like" I tried to say to her but I couldn't' find the right words to say it to her since it was really confusing me. Just why can't I figure this whole mess out.
"Like you want to tell her but you can't?" Kelly asked as I just nodded since she hit that one on the head.
"Yeah. It's like I want to tell her but I can't. At least, not yet" I said to her as I found a parking space near the supermarket as me and Kelly got out as she was looking at the list as she grimaced.
"I see why you wanted me to come along. These are a lot of things to fill the pantry with" She said as we entered the store as I got a caught as we started grabbing the things we need as we were heading towards the meat section. We were looking at the different selections when I felt my cart hit something as I looked up and saw a woman possibly in her 20's with caramel hair and golden eyes. If I knew tempting fate like this would let me and Kelly meet another vampire. I would have kept my mouth shut.
"I'm so sorry. I was a bit distracted" I apologized to her smiling embarrassed at what happened. It really was honestly, bumping into someone.
"It's no worry. I'm glad to see someone as young as you two going to the grocery" She said smiling as I smiled back. Well glad to see she's a nice person.
"Yeah well considering it's mostly me and my friends living there. I figured me and Kelly would go get some food since we just moved here" I said to her kindly as I looked at the different types of meat.
"Oh. You must be the four that moved from Arizona. The one that bought the house near the edge of the forest. It's finally glad to see that house bought" She said as I nodded since it was a good find though from what it seems not a lot of people were interested in it.
"Yeah well, it's a good place and we also get some privacy" Kelly said as she was busy picking out the meat we needed.
"Well. I'm Esme Cullen. Me and my family live in the house you see when drive up to yours" Esme said as me and Kelly exchanged looks at that point as Esme noticed.
"That was your family house?" I asked since now that I think about the person I saw on the Balcony looked like Alice.
"Yes. We lived there for the last three years ever since we arrived here" She said as I nodded as I saw Kelly was done and was now looking at something on her phone.
"We better get going. Last thing we need is for the frozen to become water" I said jokingly as Esme chuckled as we bid her goodbye and went to the checkout counter as Kelly held her phone up to my face.
"I found a Animal Shelter. Can we head there after we're done here?" Kelly asked excited while I shake my head amused at her as I nodded as I paid for the food with my credit card as we headed out. After placing the groceries in the trunk, we headed off to the animal shelter as I found a parking space as I parked the car and we headed inside.
"Hello there. Welcome to Forks Animal Shelter. Feel free to look around" The Animal Attendant said as me and Kelly split up as I remembered that Bri wanted a bunny while Bella wanted a pet cat as I found a brown bunny that Bri wanted as I saw a snow white kitten with heterochromia eyes which I know Bella will like.
"CLINT!" Kelly shouted as I went over to her wondering what she found that made her so excite which is hard since Kelly wasn't the type to get excited easily and see her gushing over two Siberian Husky puppies.
"I see you found our two twins. They were abandoned a week ago and we luckily found them. The Bunny you have was found in the park alone and we tried to find her family but we couldn't so we took her back here. The Kitten was left behind an alley when she was a newborn" The Animal Attendant said after seeing the animals we picked.
"We'll adopt them. What can you tell me about them besides well what you told me already?" I asked her since I wanted to be prepared.
"Well the twins are extremely playful and energetic yet protective when it comes to people they get to know. The kitten is well mannered, affectionate, and usually will want to play when she feels up to it. The bunny is adventurous as we tend to see her escape from her cage from time to time but Is mostly behave. They all seems to quite intelligent and they get along easily with other animals" The Animal attendant said as I smiled at that since it means there won't be a lot of problems when we leave them alone.
"Alright. For the puppies, we need two beds, a leash, two collars preferably in black and gray, a harness. For the kitten, a litter box along with some litter, a bed, a collar with a small red bow. For the bunny, do you have some sort of enclosure or cage they can be inside when they sleep, a vest with a leash. We also need some pet food for them along with some treats" I said to him as he came back with everything we need along with the papers to adopt them.
"I'll help you fill these out" Kelly said as we filled them out quickly and placed everything in the back of the car as the huskies had their head out the window while the kitten was sleeping on Kelly lap while the bunny was snacking on a small carrot. We arrived back at the house as we saw Bri and Bella waiting as they ran towards us as we also three guys working on Bella Camaro.
"Are they here?" Bri asked excited as Kelly gently handed Bella the kitten who looked at her curiously before licking her face as she smiled
"She's so adorable. I'll name you littenpaws" Bella said as the Littenpaws just purred content as she fell asleep again as Bri saw the bunny as she gently picked her up.
"You're so cute. You are know known as Rumi" Bri said excitedly as we let the two husky puppies out as Bri and Bella cooed at the pets as they helped us bring everything in as they grabbed what they needed for their respective pets before bringing them into their rooms leaving only the pet food and treats behind.
"Hey Bella. Jacob was able to fix the engine problem with your car" One of the guys said as I finally got a clear look at him seeing that he was Bella dad, Charlie Swan.
"Thanks Dad. Dad, I'd like you to meet Clinton, Kelly and Bri" Bella said introducing us as I shake Charlie hand as I couldn't help but smirk feeling the grip he has on my hand.
"Nice to finally meet you and for taking care of my daughter here" Charlie said as we let out a chuckle while Bella looked at her dad with a pout.
"Yeah well, Bella is a good person" Bri said as we saw two guys enter with one guy on a wheelchair and the other having long hair.
"Bella, I hope you remember Billy Black? Billy, I'd like you to meet Bella friends, Clinton, Kelly and Bri" Charlie asked as Billy smirked at him.
"Glad to finally see you. Charlie hasn't shut up about you living with your friends when you told him you were coming here and glad to meet you three" Billy said as Charlie rolled his eyes at him while Kelly just snorted.
"Keep exaggerating, I'll wheel you down the hill." Charlie told him as Billy grinned at him.
"Right after I ram you in the ankles" Billy said as he takes several rolls at Charlie, who dodges. The other guy walked up to Bella.
"I'm Jacob. We made mud pies together when we were little kids. It's also nice to meet you three" Jacob said.
"Yeah...I think I remember..." Bella said while Kelly just looked at the two adults there.
"Are they always like this?" Kelly asked Jacob who looked at the two dads.
"It's getting worse with old age" Jacob admitted as I just chuckled as Charlie looked at Bella.
"Well we fixed the problem with your car. Just some pistons acting up but Jacob was able to fix it" Charlie said smiling as I looked at the time.
"Why don't you three stay for dinner?" I offered them since it was getting close to dinner.
"We would love to but we really got to go home" Billy said smiling at me which I gave a nod to but I couldn't help but tense up when looking at him and Jacob. It may be my sense acting up but whatever it is. I don't like it one bit as I saw Bri stiffen as if she knew what they were as her hand was twitching and was inching towards where her gun was supposed to be if we were in our combat outfits.
"I'd love to stay" Charlie said as I smiled as I bid goodbye to Jacob and Billy before heading to the kitchen to cook as I got the ingredient I needed to make a specific dish in my mind.
(Bri POV)
They were shape shifters. I couldn't help but tense up around them ever since I saw them on the beach. I couldn't help but feel a bit on edge. I calmed down as I saw their car leave as I took I a seat as I took calming breaths as I felt someone touch my shoulder as I looked up and saw Bella looking at me worried.
"You okay Bri?" She asked me as I just nodded at her since we couldn't talk about the things we needed to since Bella dad is here.
"Well we're here for you" Charlie said as I gave a small smile as I could smell something from the kitchen as I knew Clint was starting to cook some food.
"So what was the problem?" Kelly asked taking a seat beside me at that point. I looked at them and gave a knowing look as they knew it was related to our other persona.
"Can I tell you guys later?" I asked them since I wasn't comfortable with Charlie here since he might know our secret but I didn't let it show.
"Sure" Kelly said as we heard Clint call us into the kitchen as we knew he was done judging from the smell alone as we saw he did a Chinese inspired food as we all took a seat and started eating.
After Charlie left, We headed down to the base as Kelly and Clint were getting ready as they were the only two heading out tonight. I was looking at the monitors when I saw a Cerberus running in the forest as I brought up the feed and thankfully no one was harmed yet.
"So what was that about?" Bella asked me since she was with me for monitor duty right now.
"Jacob and Billy...They were shapeshifters" I told her as I sighed wondering how our life could be complicated in such a short notice of time. I really missed the days before we moved here then again I couldn't get teasing material on Clint and Kelly like this.
"How can you be sure?" Bella asked since she was a bit skeptical about what I said before I looked at her with the same look I always have when I'm near werewolves.
"I just know Bella. It became a sixth sense to me" I said to her as I sighed since I have to find someway to get along with them but it might be hard as I heard the door behind us open up as Ticci and Clockwork walk in.
"Let me guess. Shapeshifters?" Clint asked me as I realized my eyes were still same as I nodded as he sighed knowing how hard it must be for me to get over the past.
"So. What we looking at?" Kelly asked hoping to change the topic as I pointed at the monitor where the Cerberus was trying to get to the town.
"Cerberus. It's trying to reach town more specifically Port Angeles. You know what to do at this point" I told them since at this point it was pretty boring having to repeat what they need to do after doing it for a while now as the two headed out.
(Clockwork POV)
We headed to the vehicle bay inside the base as I looked at Ticci who was deadly silent at this point which isn't uncommon but the fact he's been silent for this long is really concerning. He was the leader of the group and has always stood as it but he seems nervous.
"You okay there Ticci?" I asked him as he snapped out of whatever trance he was in.
"Yeah. Just some things going through my mind" He admitted as I nodded since I knew what it was but decided not to comment on it as we reached the bay as he went over to the keys hanging on a hook as he looked at me.
"Which car?" He asked me before I pointed to my car as he tossed me the cars to it. We got in my Audi R8 V8.
The driveway opened up as I stepped on the pedal as the engine roared loudly as I felt the adrenaline going through me as I revved up the engine before I released the brakes as it speed up as we exited through a secret ramp into the forest as we started driving to where the beast was.
(Rosalie POV)
I looked at Alice in surprised since considering what she said to me. How can I be sure to trust Kelly friend. True we may not be friends yet but she is an interesting person so far but how can we be sure tat he isn't just luring us into something or giving us false hope.
"You sure what he said is true?" I asked Alice who was smiling at me.
"Yes I'm sure Rose beside he was wearing a shirt that had a picture of the guy I met. It can't be a coincidence since I tried looking up a shirt like that but I couldn't find anything" Alice said while I frowned which meant that he either created which was doubtful since no one knew they existed in the first place.
"Well did he tell us where they would meet us?" I asked Alice who was looking out the window at this point.
"We just need to wait for something that isn't normal. From what Clint told me, they show up when a monster attacks" She said as I nodded since they were monsters hunter but that made me more nervous since what if they hunted us as Alice notice this.
"Don't worry. From what I know they only hunt down monsters that came from Greek or Roman myths" Alice said as we heard something roaring in the forest as I looked at Alice who gave me a smile before she rushed out as I sighed knowing this can't be avoided at this point while I was glad we went for a hunt a bit earlier as I followed after her.
(Clockwork POV)
"Why won't this thing go down like the other times" I said as I stabbed my two knifes into it's back as I had to jump off and land grab my scythe annoyed at having to leave my knifes in it's back.
"Either they gotten a bit tougher or we're losing our touch" Ticci said who threw his hatchets at it's feet as the Cerberus screamed in pain as I scoffed at the thought of us getting rusty.
"Yeah right. Move!" I shouted as we rolled away from the monster as it tried to bite us. I ran forward as I heard some gunshots go off as I knew Clint was shooting the Cerberus.
"Clockwork. Time and Blink" He shouted at me as I used my ability to slow time around me as I keep going and started slicing the beast before I stopped as I see Ticci teleport infront of the Cerberus spinning his gun as he unloaded his clip into the monster as it turned to dust as he landed.
"Glad we got that done because I think we have company" I said to him as I knew they were coming as we turned around just in time to see Alice and Rose there as I my eyes soften looking at her wishing I could tell her but I can't. Not yet since I wanted to see her figure it out.
"Why don't we give them some space" I heard Ticci say as I looked at him and Alice as he nodded before looking at Alice as I was glad our voices were modulated to help hide who we are.
"Race ya" He said blinking away as Alice smiled before running off chasing after the person I see as a brother as I looked at Rosalie.
"Yeah, I'm Clockwork. So what do you want to know?" I asked her since she has a lot of questions I need to answer while giving her my codename.
"Who are you? Why did you come here?" She asked while I just smiled sadly since I couldn't answer the first one.
"I can't answer the first one but as for the second. We had to, they're moving here and we need to stop them" I answered her while I could see the confused look she has.
"Why can't you tell me who you are?" Rose asked me irritated as that just my conscious feel more heavy as it was eating me up inside not being able to tell her.
"We want you and your family to figure out who we are. We don't know who we can trust especially since what we're doing" I answered her since we really didn't know who we could trust.
"You can trust me" Rose said as I looked away from her since those golden eyes could look into my sole if it wasn't for my mask.
"Never judge a book by it's cover Rose since it might lead you to your downfall" I told her turning my back on her trying not to look at her at this point since we need to finish the mission before we could think of any kind of relationships we can have.
"No but I've read the summaries and I know that you want to be selfish but you can't not right now" Rose said while I just stood there wondering what to say next to her.
"The whole story is better than the summaries" I said to her smiling sadly as I could feel her hand on my shoulder which caused a electric shock go through me as I looked at her.
"Well maybe you can give that story someday" Rosalie said as I just nodded as I knew I had to go soon as she looked at me.
"Can you give me a hint at least?" She asked me as I nodded while trying to figure out what to tell her.
"I may seem sarcastic and snarky but get to know me. You'll know I'm different" I said to her as she just gave me an irritated look which I grinned at since it was cute seeing her like that.
"Really? A riddle?" Rose asked a bit snarky which I chuckled at before she let out a scoff before smiling.
"I'll see you soon Rosalie Hale. Which might be sooner than you think" I said to her before she stopped me as I looked at her confused.
"I'll find out who you are. You can't hide behind that mask forever Clockwork" She said snarky as I smiled before heading into the forest blending with the darkness it provided.
(Rosalie POV)
I finally met her but I couldn't figure out who she is which irritated me especially since I could only pick up something along the lines of flowers and fresh forest which almost match Kelly. I wanted to hit her for giving me that stupid riddle but I stopped myself since that could be my only clue on figuring out who she is. It left me more questions than answers but I'll find out just who is she is. I looked at where Alice and her companion was and wondered what was happening with them.
(Ticci POV)
I keep running through the forest blinking every now and then as I stopped and blinked up a tree as I sat down as I waited for Alice to show up while I sighed knowing that one way or another. I would feel like I was the biggest jerk in the world still seeing her smile again it was nice. It felt like nothing else mattered at the moment when we were racing each other.
"Found ya" Alice said as I looked at her chuckling at how optimistic she is when it comes to things as she sat down beside me as I could feel myself staring into her eyes before I let out a smile behind my mask.
"You never really told me your name" Alice said which I smiled at since it was true since I never did tell her my name.
"Ticci Toby. You can call me Ticci or Toby. Alice right?" I asked her as she nodded before I stared at the moon at this point while trying to fight the guilt building up in me from not telling her who I am.
"Well glad to finally know your name at least" She said which I snorted at which caused her to smile at me which I felt my heart stop seeing that adorable smile again from her before I looked at the moon.
"When you look at the moon what do you see?" I asked her which caused her to look at the moon deep in thought.
"Well I see a reminder that everyday things can change and that it life isn't set in stone and the fact I'm lucky to have my family and hopefully you at some point" Alice said which caused me to fight back a small blush threatening to creep up to my face while I mentally cursed since I wanted to know her better before deciding on something as big as this.
"When I look at the moon. All I see is another night of us needing to go fight to protect everyone from the myths they never see" I said to her which caused her to look at me.
"What do you mean?" She asked me as I tried to figure out what I want to say to her since I didn't want to ruin her mood.
"I killed more monsters than I can count even to the point I'm wondering if I'm still human" I said to her as I clenched my fist at this point.
"There's nothing wrong with that besides you're protecting people" Alice said as I looked at her as I had to nod since I was doing just that.
"True and I don't regret it. I'll gladly give up my own happiness if it means that everyone else will be safe and happy" I said to her as I looked at her seeing her looking at me softly.
"You deserve to be happy Toby. Everyone does" Alice said to me while I looked at her just admiring how she can be optimistic even in times like this as I sighed softly going back to my stargazing.
"Yeah well. Sometimes not everyone can get a happy ending but I rather it be me than others" I said to her as I felt her hand under my chin as she made me turn my head to look at her.
"You don't always have to give up everything to let others be happy. You need to think about yourself also" She said to me as I stared into her eyes as I just tried not to let the guilty feeling I have get to me. I wanted to tell her and just get to know her better without any secrets but I had to stop myself. I can't fall in love easily since while it is true I met her but love doesn't grow in a single night or day. It takes time.
"Someone has to" I answered her as I could feel her eyes staring into my soul as I knew she was trying to figure out who I am.
"Who are you?" She asked me as I looked at her fighting back the urge and the need to tell her that I was someone that wants to get to know her better.
"I can't tell you that. You need to figure that on your own" I said to her smiling softly as I knew she was trying not to pout at me before her eyes lit up in excitement.
"How?" She asked me as if she was trying to solve a great mystery which I smirked at.
"Not how but when. I'm more closer than you think Alice. You just need to keep your eyes open" I told her smiling as her eyes lit up as the light from the moon reflected off her making her look more angelic than usual.
"Then I'll find out who you are" Alice said as I stood up on the branch as she did the same as we looked at each other before she smiled knowing what was about happen.
"Well. Better get going. Don't want your partner to wait now do you" She said giggling as I chuckled as I smiled at her before winking as I blinked away.
(Alice POV)
I knew they were linked but I didn't realize it might be closer than I think. I could still smell his scent which was of the ocean and the air of the forest. I knew that Clint and Toby were connected now to only figure out if what I was thinking was right but I have to keep my eyes open. I'll find out who you are Toby since I know you and the others will make my family happy and I know at some point we'll know each other better. You were right. It's only a matter of when.
