ANNABETH'S .
Annabeth tried to concentrate on her next few classes, but her thoughts were constantly pulled away by that bright smile. The faint scent of black coffee, arising from her cup, reminded her even more of the boy. She just wanted to talk to him, to hear his voice one more time- Stop. She shook her head, clearing her mind. What is happening to you Annabeth, stop, concentrate. She desperately tried to focus on the professor, or at least think about something else, but the black-haired boy just would not go.
Finally, after what seemed like an hour, the ring finally rang, marking the end of the last period. Annabeth gathered her books, putting them in her black bag, and walked out of room 319. She quickly scanned the hall, looking for her friends. Soon she caught sight of a curly haired girl, waving at her, inviting her to come. With a smile, Annabeth squeezed through the busy hallway, walking towards her.
"Hey Hazel, how was your morning?" Annabeth asked when she finally got to her friend.
"It was good, but how was yours?" Hazel retorted with a grin.
Before Annabeth could even think about the answer, a new figure appeared on her other side. "Yes Annabeth, where were you this morning? I could not ignore the empty chair in front of me." A beautiful native girl asked.
"Well, if you must know, I overslept." Annabeth answered, pulling her friends towards the cafeteria.
"Overslept, how so?" Hazel asked when they slumped down in their common seats in one of the corners in the small cafeteria.
"I was reading up until late last night, and you know, it all went one by another, after that."
"All?" Piper asked.
Annabeth blushed. What was she going to tell her friends, I missed my bus, so I decided to go to a coffee shop and buy myself a cup of coffee, and now I am completely enchanted by the barista? Yes, exactly that.
"Okay, don't expect me on chemistry tomorrow in the morning then."
"Oh, hush Piper, you already have a thing with Jason, what more could you want." Hazel simply said, while biting in her brownie.
"Where'd you get that?" Annabeth finally asked, trying to change the subject.
"Oh, they are new on the menu, you should check if they have any more of those, but I doubt it. They are pretty delicious." The younger Sophomore answered, still chewing her cookie.
Annabeth got up, walking towards the clear, glass doors. The Pandora High School was built in an odd way, many rooms were separated by random balconies or galleries, while some others made weird passageways. One of the examples was the small balcony connecting the kitchen and cafeteria itself, with chilly wind always messing with students' hair, trying to drive them away.
Still, Annabeth found herself standing in a line that was longer than she expected it to be. With a sigh, she rubbed her cold arms, trying to warm herself up. She left her jacket inside, and November days, were not the warmest. Just when she started to consider giving up and walking back in, the last person in front of her left, letting her order.
She scanned the set-out, thinking about what to get. "Um, can I get one of those brownies?" She asked, deciding to go with the same thing Hazel got.
"Oh, sorry, we are out? Would you like something else?" Annabeth's head shot up at the sound of a voice she did not even imagine hearing again.
"Luke?" She whispered, in disbelief. A grinning face was now looking straight into her gray eyes.
"Hey Annie."
