As I looked over my kingdom from the very top of my castle in Faerie, I pulled the locket out from under my shirt and opened it to stared down at the beautiful baby girl on one side, and her mother on the other. My last human lover, who died giving birth to my princess. She was my only daughter, as my previous wife had blessed me with sons. I longed to hold her, to speak with her, to hear her laughter, and to be in her presence.

Twenty-one years ago, I made the toughest decision any parent could ever make and placed her with my son's human lover, for her own protection after her mother died. There wasn't anything I could do, I'd kept my relationship a secret and new when she was due to give birth. Apparently human babies can come early and I was a few days late.

Not even a powerful king can save his queen if he's not there. It is time to pay Adele Stackhouse a visit. I wonder if she's even aware that Fintan has gone to the summer lands, and no longer walks this earth. Sookie will never meet her middle brother, unfortunately. I chose Adele and Fintan as her protectors when I couldn't be on earth because I felt at the time that was the best place for her.

My precious princess. I saw her briefly from afar on her eighteenth birthday but had to hold back on approaching my daughter because things weren't safe here in my Kingdom and Sookie being half-fairy/half-human would have placed her right into the thick of the war.

I will also have to pay a certain vampire sheriff a visit. His skills as a warrior and Viking will ensure my daughter's safety. My mobile buzzed in my pocket, and yes, with a few tweaks and magic, I was able to get it to work in a different realm other than earth.

My eyebrows rose when I saw who the caller ID is: The Ancient Pythoness. I answer on the second ring, still gazing at my baby girl.

"Yes, Pythia?" I answer simply.

"You are planning on introducing your daughter to the Viking correct?"

That meddling old fool never fails to surprise me.

"A thought I was considering just a moment ago. Why?"

"I had a vision and I believe that is a good idea. You may not like it, but the outcome will be advantageous to us all."

"Do you have to be so cryptic? I haven't met my daughter's adult self in person. Yet you are already suggesting things, that's making me second guess my thought process."

"Don't be a selfish old git Niall. I haven't seen any deaths, except for that human female who she resides with. Don't ask me how I got that vision. What's supposed to happen will fall into place as they should, like your thought process. The Viking is a good choice for a protector. She will need to be registered as council laws if you decide to publicly claim her as your kin."

I roll my eyes. I know the rules, I helped create them.

"She's my daughter, of course, I will publicly claim her as mine. You obviously know why I kept her hidden from our world. With my enemies defeated I feel it is safe for her to be by my side as Sookie Einin Brigant, Princess of the Sky Fae."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, old man. Just to warn you as you're the only one I have genuine respect for on our council team of supernaturals. Adele Stackhouse will put up a fight. Lord knows why I'm seeing all of this. But it is giving me some entertainment. Good luck!"

And with that, the meddling old bat hung up the phone on me. I raised my eyebrows.

It is time to pay Adele Stackhouse a visit.

As I will myself to the forest tree line of the Stackhouse family farmhouse, I close my eyes and listen in on the old building to see if my daughter is there or the boy.

Once I know I'm in the all-clear, I picture Adele in my head, what I last remember her to look like, twenty-one years ago, and teleport into the area where she currently is in the house.

"Jesus Christ, Shepherd of Judea," Is the greeting I get, that accompanying getting whacked with a broom. As I move out of Adele's way she suddenly freezes when I turn to face her, just as she's about to whack me again.

"Oh, no." Her jaw dropped, eyes wide once she realized who is standing before her. I can't help but feel amused upon her reaction to seeing me standing in before her eyes in her kitchen.

"Oh, yes!"

So what did you all think of this first chapter?

I wanted to create a different kind of storyline for Sookie. Including her introduction into the Supernatural community that she's always been apart of, but never knew it existed until vampires came out of the coffin. I always felt it was unfair that Adele never told Sookie the truth.

So this is my spin on things! Hope ya'll join me on Sookie's journey!
