Note: I do not own Ouran High School Host Club
Bright summer light filled music room number three casting shadows of the group sitting around one of the tables. The current subject of discussion was what plans were for the upcoming break. Tamaki was trying to convince them that they should get together at some point to catch up and have fun.
"What about the beach?" Tamaki asked
"Why so you can try and get Haruhi in that swimsuit you're trying to hide?" Hikaru grinned as Tamaki shoved a floral two-piece behind his back.
"Hikaru, I never knew you were so concerned about Haruhi. I thought you only had eyes for me." Kaoru flushed dejectedly.
"I am concerned for the safety of us all." Hikaru smiled and licked cream off the corner of his brother's mouth.
"I guess I'll cancel the request to have the pool room set aside for us as well." Kyoya said adjusting his glasses.
"Yeah, no offense Kyoya-chan, but I don't need to have a search party go after me again." Honey-sempai said. "How about spending some time at Nagashima Spa Land?"
"Hee hee." Tamaki's eyes glinted, still hoping to adorn Haruhi in his selection, "I wouldn't object."
"I object to it." The twins chimed.
"I'll be fine, really." Haruhi interjected, "But what about a hike? We could go to Mt. Sobek for the tenth of next month."
"Spend some time hiking up a mountain and enjoy tea at the top on Mountain Day?" Kyoya pondered, "I like it.
Very well, why don't we call the end of the meeting, since our prince seems to have left the group."
They looked over to see Tamaki pouting in the corner, slowly cultivation mushrooms.

"Hey, Hikaru, do you think I should bring this along?" Kaoru asked holding up a scantily built pair of pants.
Hikaru glanced up from the suitcase he was packing and flushed, "You do realize that there could be quite a temperature change; I wouldn't want you to catch a cold. What about your skinny jeans? They do emphasize your butt rather well."
"Ooh! I'll go get them." Kaoru shimmied over to his closet, wiggling his hips as he went. "Did you want to wear matching sweatshirts? I can get those while I'm in here."
"The olive green ones? Sure." Hikaru accepted his as Kaoru walked out of the closet. "All right, a few days worth of snacks, clothes, and extra socks just in case we get our feet wet."
"Sounds good." The two snapped their suitcases simultaneously and slung them over their shoulder then headed over to wait in front of the school, the agreed upon meeting spot.
Kyoya was already there, waiting next to a car, it's trunk open to accept incoming luggage. The twins sauntered over to add theirs to three other suitcases inside, one had a small bunny accessory dangling from the handle. After they greeted Kyoya, they spotted their senior whirling around the front of the car, a huge grin on his face, and making Usa-chan fly into the air. Mori had to step in and get Usa-chan off the top of the car when Honey accidentally threw him in the wrong direction. Once Honey's tears had dried and he stopped hiccupping, Tamaki and Haruhi arrived. Tamaki carrying both his and Haruhi's suitcases at his insistance.
Kyoya adjusted his glasses, ticked off a check mark on a notepad then put it away. "Excellent. Everyone is present and accounted for. Shall we get seated and head off to the trail?"
"Onwards!" Tamaki shouted, "Of course, I'll be taking the seat next to Haru-"
"No, you're not." The twins chimed, causing Tamaki to climb into the back of the car and sulk.
About an hour later, the car pulled over to the side of the road amidst a a gravel road leading off in the distance to drop the teenagers off. Each took their own luggage from the trunk, with the exception of Haruhi, who had been arguing with Tamaki and Haruhi about carrying her own. After a few minutes of arguing, they heard a loud sigh and Mori walked over to gently take the bag and sling it over his back, adding it to his and Honey's packs, leaving the three to look at him flabbergast. Honey scampered ahead, swinging Usa-chan back and forth as he went before turning around to excitedly wave the rest to join him.
Idle chatter, plans for future events, and unbridled flirting ran amongst the group as they trekked down the trail, making decent time to their first rest stop. By the time they reached it, Tamaki had a swollen left cheek from where Haruhi had repeatedly smacked him to fend off his advances, and Haruhi was shaking trying not to stay angry. Honey still had his sunny disposition, and the twins faces were flush with laughter. Mori set the bags aside to start clearing some leaves and twigs away so they could have a snack and drinks. Kyoya took a look at the map he brought to check their progress, nodding and adjusting his glasses before folding it up and repacking it.
"If we manage to keep the pace up, we should be at the top for lunch time. That is if some people settle down and don't slow us down with their antics." He said accepting a finger sandwich from Kaoru.
"Oh, don't worry." Hikaru spoke up, a wide grin on his face, "I'm sure that Kaoru and I can help keep him in line."
"Is it a good thing that I brought some rode just in case we needed to do some rock climbing while we were out?" Kaoru grinned slyly back, winking at Hikaru.
"Keep your ideas to yourself Kaoru, please." Tamaki flushed, "I will behave."
The rest of the snack break went by in awkward silence before they cleaned up and resumed their hike. The sun had brought some warmth to the air around them, glimmering off a stream, that they took a brief pause at to admire.
All of them had removed their sweatshirts, tying them around their waist so they didn't have to carry them. Periodically Honey would have them pause to take pictures, either of the group or of the beautiful scenery, but kept it brief, as Kyoya would remind them of the deadline they had.
Shortly before the sun had reached it's apex, they had reached the small inn at the top of the mountain, where two concierges had emerged upon their arrival, one with a tray of drinks and the other with small hand towels. "Welcome!"
"Thank you very much!" Kyoya bowed and accepted a drink, "It has been a rather enjoyable trip to reach you."
"Excellent! May you enjoy your stay!" One gestured for them to follow. "This way to your rooms, we will have lunch ready shortly."

Lunch passed by quietly as they all sat down to enjoy the aromas of the tea and food served. Kaoru kept trying to feed Hikaru as well as Tamaki attempting to do the same with Haruhi, but the twins were having more success than Tamaki was with Haruhi. Honey took more pictures and asked if one of the concierges could take a group photo at one point, who did so only after Honey turned huge pleading eyes on them. The group thanked the people at the inn before exiting and taking their packs up once more and Kyoya settled the bill.
As the group started back down the trail, they noticed that Hikaru had lagged behind a bit. Confused, Kaoru ran back to grab his brother's hand, but Hikaru resisted, bringing his brother in closer for a hug, and pecking him on the cheek.
"Thank you for a wonderful outing, everyone!" The twins called.
"We'll catch up to you at the bottom." Hikaru said.
"I'll catch you at the bottom." Kaoru winked, pinching his brother's butt after the others had started off again.
The two joined hands and started walking back down the mountain, leaning into each other, taking their time and enjoying each other's presence. The car ride home was quiet as well. Kyoya smiled at the group, some of them taking naps during it. Honey lay on Mori's shoulder, Hikaru and Kaoru leaned into each other for support, and even Tamaki managed to lean against Haruhi, who smiled as she looked out the window.
'It's been a good day.' She thought, glad she had suggested the trip before closing her eyes herself.
